Ultra 3.5" Stackable USB 2.0/E-SATA External Hard Drive Enclosure
Comment:
Bought a 500gb SATA drive to go with the enclosure. From the time I started the installation of the drive to actual use was probably 30 min. Most of this time was for formatting the drive. The actual installation into the enclosure was closer to 10 min. The installation was flawless, all parts were there, and everything performed as it should. I use the drive mostly for video editing as well as transfer and found the access times much improved over other drives. I am very satisfied with this enclosure and I am planning on buying this equipment a second time.

Excellent case; so easy to assemble that I had it ready to use in 10 minutes including getting it out of the box. The only worry that I have is that the case fan is so weak. You definitely want to power off when not in use.

Ultra 3.5" Stackable USB 2.0/E-SATA External Hard Drive Enclosure
Comment:
I decided to purchase 15 of these for various server data expansion. Very cool concept, however has a few problems: 1) Because of where the hard drive mount holes are located, the HD ends up sitting too close to the circuit board. This in turn causes problems when trying to attach the power and SATA data cables. This means you end up up having to forcefully bend the cables to fit. The short cables attached to the circuit board don't flex very well and as a result cause damage to the cable, the cable connectors, and/or the hard drive connectors. If only the hard drive could be slid 0.5 inches forward, this problem would be solved. 2) Of the 15 hard drive enclosures that I purchased 4 were shipped with bad power supplies. TigerDirect will gladly swap them out for new one's but this is quite inconvenient. 3) Of the 11 that I got powered on, another 4 aren't recognized by my RAID card (possibly related to #1 above). All of HDs are exactly the same make/model so I'm not sure what's
