Bought this as a second internal hard drive to store my files so as to separate my important files from the C drive. Transferred like a dream. Quick and responsive. 1 month later, before I even had a chance to buy an external drive to back up this drive, the WD Caviar Blue crashed. Couldn't access it. It was important data so I paid over $500 to recover the files. I've had good quality from WD in the past and am sure unlucky this time.

Installed this in an old machine that desperately needed more storage. Choice of IDE drives is limited. Was pleasantly surprised with how much faster this drive was than the old drive it replaced.

Just bought this WD hard drive for my Dad for Father's Day. I installed it in a external enclosure to use as a backup for his i-Mac, it works great, now he can keep more than one back up on file, plus a full back up his his system. I would recommend this drive to anyone!

Does what I need it to do, I put it into a computer that ive been keeping alive for 8 years, its quiet and it gets the job done, the price isnt too bad but the performance could be better of course, but what can you expect. If you need to replace an old drive that failed on you, this isnt a bad way to go.

I bought this drive to replace a 20 gb Maxtor drive in a business class PC I bought cheap($20) that I plan to use as a Mythbuntu box. Installation was a piece of cake. I've also noticed this drive is a lot quitter and faster than the old Maxtor drive. I don't know about the endurance yet but I've had good luck with my other WD drives in the past.

bought the retail version of this drive at a local store as part of the computer upgrade in a system with no SATA and only a 60GB drive. this drive is now a slave in that computer after installing a 320GB SATA HDD with PCI RAID card. excilent HDD for those how dont have SATA or have ne SATA ports left.

This is a great drive it's fast and super quiet. I've owned drives from Maxtor, Quantum, IBM, and Seagate. This drives is the tops, if it last as long as some my Maxtor drives (7+ years), then this drives will be the best drive I've ever purchased based on performance and price. moneymakercash.com
