I bought 2 pieces of "Wintec AMPO 1024MB PC2700 SODIMM Memory - DDR 333MHz" (Item Number: W19-1078) from here in May 2009. Delivery was quick. Install was easy. Everything worked fine. $100 revived a 6-years old IBM ThinkPad R40 of 256MB!

I had been without my laptop for over a year, when I was finally helped by a couple of students at the college I work at, they identified the problem, corrupt ram memory and suggested I purchase new ones. Although I was very surprised that the older ddr models are way more expensive than the newer ones, they worked perfectly. No problems at all with them, plug in, load programs, and play. I'm so excited I only spent about $100 to fix my laptop instead of $1000 on a new one.

Purchased 2 sticks of this memory. Within 1 day my laptop was frozen. Restarted and two days later it was frozen again. One day later it froze twice. Ran a memory diagnostic test downloaded from Microsoft and the memory failed 5 of the 11 tests. I am returning it for an exchange. Hopefully just a defective stick. Tiger Direct service was excellent and it arrived on time.
