Particularly rapidly, till it died DEAD after less than two weeks. Began with quite a few errors, then would not even full HDTest error verify.Steer clear of. Seems to be a quite high quantity of HDD failures lately on all merchandise. Be careful of anything at all on "Sale" at Newegg

Comment:
Not DOA. Excellent drive though it lasted. Failed (bad element re: DLG) immediately after about 10 days. This was within a day of an RE drive failing in my RAID setup. Guess what? Challenging drives aren't 100% trustworthy and it really doesn't matter who the manufacturer is. This is my very first close to-DOA in a although though.

Comment:
-Substantially more rapidly than my preceding gen Caviar Black 1TB. Possibly about 30% much better write/read speeds.-Getting two of these in RAID is an unbelievable expertise. Win7 boot in 14 seconds, shut down in 7 seconds. -Drive is pretty heavy compared to my caviar black, which implies that it has additional platters. This commonly imply the drive is noisier and takes more energy (it is and it does - but undoubtedly not unbearable). HDTach outcomes:I have 15.4ms as my RAID seek time.1700MBps Burst read speed170MBps peak read speed120MBps average read speedWonderful!

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:Post flooding prices still aren't amazing

Pros:WD Blues are a good solid line with mid level performance
Comment:
Needed to upgrade my drobo, and finally decided that flooding prices had dropped enough. Got a pair of these for 90$ a pop, which isn't amazing, but was a decent price given the circumstances. Both checked out fine when I got them and are now running in my drobo. If I needed more, WD blues is where I'd look first.4/5 only because post flood pricing still isn't as good as it used to be.

Cons:None, except the price has more than doubled since I originally bought it

Pros:No issues for the past year and 1/2Easy to set up
Comment:
Harddrive prices have really gone up since I originally bought mine, but once HD prices drop  down to less than 100 dollars, then I'd recommend you pick up this WD harddrive

Cons:None so far

Pros:Cheap (got it for $89.99)Great performance for a non-SSDGreat brand
Comment:
Have bought several WD drives and have yet to have one fail. Have actually bought 3 of these for customers and again, no issues so far.Got this cheaper than the green drives were at the time. If you're just looking for a storage drive and the green version is cheaper, than that should be fine. If you want a little better performance, this is a great option.

Quick drive, lots of storage, fast transfers Worked excellent the day I installed, I transfered approx. 150 gb of data more than. Subsequent day I went to place far more on it from a flash drive and nothing. Drive just sits there and clicks. RMA'ing atm. 1st problem I've ever had with a hdd. And I'm nevertheless utilizing ə gb hdd's (not everyday use of course). Only other challenge I've ever encountered was a bad board on a drive which was over 15 years old. Guess it was a unlucky day for me. I don't consider this is a reflection on WD's element, just unlucky.

NONE! This has been a TERRIBLE Expertise! The very first harddrive won't recognize or spin-up. RMA'd it for a replacement. The replacement gets a S.M.A.R.T. status Poor (backup and replace) immediately after installing it. I will in no way acquire another harddrive from Newegg once more! I will not try to replace this harddrive again. I just want my refund. I'll obtain my harddrives locally.

It's supposed to have space. It's supposed to be rapidly. Neither of the above listed attributes are helpful when it goes dead inside a month of use. To make matters worse, I was unable to put this drive in the setup it was for to test it till pretty much a month right after obtaining, so I'm out of luck for RMA. Pretty shocked about this coming from a WD product, but what can you do? Hopefully their CS isn't terrible.

Good price tag for a big, 7200rpm drive with high density platters. See other thoughts section. Regrettably, drive arrived DOA with numerous Intelligent errors reported as soon as I installed it. This is the first drive I've ever received from Newegg that was DOA. I guess there is a very first time for everything!

It was inexpensive! ๟ bucks....can't beat that. Runs Quiet. Believed I had bought the Caviar Black, but that's what occurs when you're operating on a 12-pack and trying to get factors on Newegg! :-)It's not a Raptor! I just hope it holds up to be as very good as all the other WD drives I've had. Never ever had a difficulty with a WD drive.

Pros:Quiet, fast, lots of space and inexpensive.
Comment:
This was a lightly used drive in a backup file server that died just under one year of use. WD Smart Info claimed drive was fine, but the Diagnostics program would not run. And it did the have the "click of death" too. Have RMA pending to WD. This is the 6th WD drive I've bought, and first failure. I'll buy again, but disappointed at the short life.

Incredibly quick and efficient. Setup was cake. Quiet, no clicking or noise above fans (which is truly quiet). None, so far. This is a quite great drive, and you can't beat the price. I'm not certain if I put significantly stock into other reviews whos drive has failed within 24 hours following their other HD failed. The probabilities of that are so astronomical, it makes the lotto look great. Sounds like a issue elsewhere. Give this drive a attempt, and regardless of what drive you go with, put a reliable back-up system into place. Simply because of the mechanical nature, tough drives will fail. It's just a matter of when.Setup:AMD Phenom II 555BE, 4 cores unlocked, OC'd to three.4GhzASRock 890GX Extreme4GSkill Ripjaw Series DDR3 1600, 8GB Dual Channel KitXFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128bitLite-On Blu-Ray SATA disc readerWD Caviar Blue 7200RPM 1TB 6Gb/s SATA HDDHitachi Deskstar 5kRPM 2TB 6Gb/s SATA HDDCooler Master Hyper 212 HS/Fan
