Downloaded Acronis software...cloned my existing drive with no problems Drive is substantially louder than my current Seagate drive. Drive never ever worked right from day one particular. Access was slow and playback of video files was poor-skipping and pausing. Norton NAV complete scan crashed and wiped out MBR. Downloaded diagnostic from WD website. Error 0007 read mechanism failure. I have submitted for RMA. We'll see how it goes. Appears like a poor reliability drive.

Came just as anticipated. Drive was nicely packaged, OEM style None that there are to assume of. Drive seems quiet. Utilised in CentOS Linux.. No difficulties of course, but did not test six Gb/s efficiency due to hardware constraints.

6Gb/Second, 1TB, 7200RPM, Brand.Set up in RAID ten - so far so excellent. No complaints - and Striped these things are noticeably more rapidly. NONEIf things go undesirable inside the subsequent couple months I'll Re-post. But none of the 4 (shipped individually with newegg's trusty packagine) were DOA. Amazing. WD did it once again for me!

fast, quiet, super uncomplicated to install and get configured died after six hours - just sufficient time to get it loaded. not sure why so several of these drives are failing, but kudos to newegg for making it correct and processing my RMA super quick. Will continue to purchase right here figuring out they'll step up and make factors suitable even when trustworthy companies can't produce a decent solution.

Acronis application on site is great. Cloned my drives with no problems. Drive beginning providing me problems day one particular. Drive is somewhat loud. A lot louder than my existing Seagate drive. Drive seemed slow anf had stuttering troubles on video playback. I defragged my partitions but the difficulty persisted. I then did a Full Norton AV scan. A handful of hours later the WINXP scrren was up but Norton was nowhere to be found. I dod a shutdown and then attempted to restart. No boot. No absolutely nothing..just a blank screen.Did a CD boot. The partitions had been still there. I expect the MBR was trashed. I then download the Maxtor CD diagnostic. Error Code 00007 - read mechanism failure. I have considering that submitted a replacement under Maxtor's warranty. I should have a new drive in a few days. I hope that 1 operates superior.

The one particular drive that looks to be surviving infancy has typical benchmark study speeds that appear like they will effortlessly fill a gigabit network. Bench mark write speeds are much greater than expected as effectively. With my apologies, the numbers had been lost so I cannot post them. Out of the three WD10EALX 1TB that have come to my door, the very first went back the subsequent day, for it was DOA, the subsequent gave wise warnings of uncorrectable sectors and read write errors the subsequent week, and so met with its RMA. The final received as a replacement for the DOA is thus far surviving infancy without having errors.Benchmarked seek time is fairly a bit larger than I expected. I seasoned a poor run of new drives for my household media/file server project. The remaining WD10EALX I am utilizing is performing good, but I locate I have little faith in it creating the distance. The read and create speeds benchmark fairly fantastic for a mechanical drive, Real world application has only had light use, no hiccups and no slow transfer speeds thus far, after I am performed with debugging the network I will have to place it to an aggressive real planet test.

none if it only lasts a couple weeks devoid of genuinely even using it.the RMA process is fairly straightforward. had this drive about three weeks now. employed for a backup drive. no data genuinely on it yet considering that its a new computer make. start off getting notices from windows 7 that the drive is reporting failures. did a diagnostics test on it and it says its has terrible sectors that are non recoverable and it is failing. S.M.A.R.T. is also reporting failures. at least Newegg issued and RMA with no troubles. this is the second item I have had to RMA on this Computer develop. hope the replacement lasts a tiny longer than this 1.

Affordable, rapid, storage. SATA 6. 򞀠 plus 32MB of cache=FAST! Ordered two drives, one was DOA, the other died inside 15 minutes of use. Each drives have separate serial numbers so you can pretty a lot rule out a poor manufacturing run.One drive showed up on the personal computer as 2.2TB... but wait, these points are 1TB. So, it would not format with "could not allocate memory" errors, no matter what partition size I employed. The other drive formatted and worked wonderful! For all of 15 minutes... so I spent the next TWO HOURS trying to get these drives working in other systems, diverse cables, unique jumper settings. Absolutely nothing. Nada, Zip. Zilch Terrible, horrible, no very good, really undesirable drives. Years ago I had a poor knowledge with WD and I vowed to never ever obtain from them again. I purchased 5 drives from a nearby pc shop, and four of them had died inside 6 months. Well, about 10 years passed, so I figured maybe I would give them yet another possibility, I mean Apple puts WD drives in their desktop Macs, ideal? Certainly they've stepped up their manufacturing method or good quality control, appropriate?Wrong. TWO drives, each dead within the hour? That is amazing, I imply they really should win an award or anything for that.

Reasonably priced, rapidly (as H.D.D. tech goes), quiet None however You'll want a slimline SATA cable to connect this thing to your mobo - I advise the ones with power currently attached to it (keeps your case much less tangled with wires). Unfortunately, Newegg doesn't sell them. I bought mine from a competitor.

If you look at the specs, these WD drives are among the fastest 7200 RPM drives when it comes to writing to the platters Ƒ Gb/s). Everybody's controller will do three Gb/s or 6 Gb/s, but once the cache is complete... properly, we wait for the create to disk. I have two of these in a RAID on my ASUS P8P67 PRO with an Intel 2600k, zero concern---and if I did have an concern, I have self-confidence that WD will make it appropriate. None It's handful of and far among when I've had a undesirable drive from WD.

Price when on sale, dependability, speed. None Have never had a poor WD drive and this was no excwption. @ ๊, I'm incredibly happy for WD's middle of the road HDD. For N'A who reviewed this immediately after a DOA. DOA's will come about now and then. Please dont evaluation a solution if you've never ever utilized it, or rate it soon after a DOA. Clue: when dealing with electronics, there is a failure rate, deal with it and move on.

Quiet, significant storage, and stable so far. HD can\'t use SATA 6. Gb/s connection. The hard drive doesn't take care of data any more rapidly than the typical difficult drives at operate. Had I identified this I would have saved a tiny cash and stuck with the three..

Large capacity, inexpensive with discount, supposed to be more quickly than WD greens Undesirable sectors detected right after initial use. Have to RMA for replacement. I would have purchased the WD green if not the discount due to the fact I just require it for video storage. Anyway, the drive I got is really slow on any execution. 1M/s for copying, get stuck when you right click on a file, and so on. I don't know no matter if this is mainly because it is damaged due to the shock throughout transportation or WD just has poor good quality on it. I'll wait and see no matter whether the new one particular works out.
