Comment: I use this as a secondary drive to an SSD, primarily for music, games, etc. Read and write is fast enough, but is definitely no SSD. Good price for a good brand SATA drive.

Drive appears to be running great, loaded with tons of files and accesses them speedily with low noise. It's no SSD of course, but a definite winner in my books if you're looking for lots of space at a very decent price!

Seems loud from time to time, but might be due to my significantly uninsulated case. It's too poor the drive itself can't move 6 gigs a second.

It's been great. It's faster (no thanks to SATA3) and can hold a lot more information. I have an issue with mine though - it is very loud while seaking. Contacting WD about the issue, all they have to say is this is normal and would not accept it if I were to RMA. It doesn't help that the AAM feature is not supported, which means I cannot make the drive any quieter by software.

peterk@NCIX Rating: Review Date: 04/13/11	Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive Cons: none that I have run across at this point in time Pros: speed this thing is fast as reported by HD Tune 2.55 Comment: bought this to go with my Asus P8p67 deluxe which has 4 Sata3 connections..I am using the Intel chipset one and the drive is the boot drive with the OS on it.Mobo had no problems picking up the drive in AHCI mode and W7 installation DVD saw the drive right away,formatted and installed without a problemIt took about half the time to install W7 onto this and HD Tune 2.55 shows a avg speed of 109MBésec and a burst rate of 175.4 with a 13.1 sec access time.definltely faster than my SATA2 Hitachi and way way faster than the old plain SATA even when running 2 Western Digital 250gb in a Raid config like I did on my socket 775 mobo.All program installed seem to access faster and searches take a lot less time.Even defrags are not as long as they once were.

Pros: Very good improvement over stock hitachi drive in my macbook pro. Installation was extremely easy. Boot times became much faster. Comment: Was a very good upgrade over my stock hitachi drive that came with my Macbook Pro. Boot times improved greatly, and the added capacity for a relatively cheap price was welcomed. Slightly louder than stock drive.

Definitely a good buy. I've had it for 8 whole days and it hasn't given out yet -- proof that it lasts. Lol. Not really, but it seems this hard drive has a low failure rate so that's good.
