Pros:Fast drive, warranty

I installed this on my Lenovo T420's ultrabay slot. It was an upgrade from a previous drive I've had in there. So far it works perfectly well, no issues so far. I've had good experiences so far with WD Black drives, hopefully this will continue with the trend.

I upgrade my hdd on my macbook pro. To do this I connected the drive working with a NewerTech USB 2. Universal Adapter. I then reformatted the drive employing Disk Utility to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Beneath Partition in Disk Utility choose "Options" and then choose GUID Partition Table. I then employed Carbon Copy Cloner naming my Macintosh HD as the source disk and the new (larger) USB disk as the target disk and ran CCC. Then I followed the hardware installation directions and effectively installed my new more substantial HDD. none. No true cons, just work through the above if you are operating Mac OSX. The GUID Partition Table alternative is crucial.

Western Digital Scorpio Black 750GB 2.5IN 7200RPM 16GB SATA3GB/S Notebook Hard Drive
Cons:none

Pros:Works, quiet, less heat, faster than old drive.
Comment:
Bought to replace 60GB drive in Playstation 3. Was a simple procedure and the results are fantastic. There was an obvious speed boost (old drive is 5400RPM) and the size increase (so nice having PS+ and a HUGE drive for all the content they throw at you).I was surprised at how much quieter the system is now. Less noise from the drive and less heat from the drive which keep the PS3 fan down lower making less noise.Super happy.

Unlike earlier posters, I had no concerns with Mac firmware. I was currently up to date. Quite simple set up, and up and operating quick. Space allowed me to have what I needed to be able to use bootcamp. Absolutely nothing to report as of yet. I will update later if necessary. Installed in Macbook Pro (Late 2008, Unibody). No knock on newegg, but I placed my order on Wednesday to be overnighted so I would obtain prior to the weekend. Newegg did their aspect but someone at UPS left the box at one particular of their facilities and when I did obtain it right now (Monday) it was covered with dirt and mud. Ugh... but every little thing worked so I won't complain. I was told by a Newegg rep they would refund my shipping charges.

Western Digital Scorpio Black 750GB 2.5IN 7200RPM 16GB SATA3GB/S Notebook Hard Drive
Cons:- Cut down battery life more than expected (probably ninety minutes off previous run time; still acceptable).- Slightly more noise than stock 5400rpm drive (to be expected; also acceptable).

Pros:- Certainly improved overall system performance.- Enhanced system storage capacity.- Not loud enough to really bother me.- Not any warmer than previous, 5400rpm hard driveI did a fair bit of research before purchasing this drive, and the consensus seems to be the drive is highly reliable. I've only been using mine for just over a month, but am so far pleased to report no problems. Setup as a snap...as it should be with any modern hard drive. Performance gains are noticeable; enough to justify the increase, but they probably won't blow you away.
Comment:
I upgraded a late 2011 MBP, which previously held a 5400rpm Toshiba hdd. Since I learned to work on computers, I've never run my machines on anything less than a 7200rpm drive, so once comfortable with the new computer, I decided to upgrade. Originally went with a Seagate Momentus XT 750GB hybrid drive, but that is apparently incompatible with my model computer. So I threw that into my PS3 and bought this Western Digital instead. Upgrade was straight forward and simple, and I was able to easily transfer the information from my stock hard drive to the new one using an external enclosure.I am satisfied with the upgrade and the performance, although I'm not blown away by the speed improvement. This is why I gave it four stars. Up until now, I had always been a Seagate loyalist. The bad experience with the Momentus XT - which is an Apple error since the hdd also worked in an old ThinkPad I tested it in - led me to purchase this WD. I'm satisfied enough to recommend to others.

Large size. Noisy, BTW, that is a common complaint about this drive. The noise. This drive failed after 2 months. If you have a fantastic backup method and can take the danger then go ahead and purchase 1. I do but it wasn't worth the time and work. Obtain a thing else additional dependable. I would devote my funds elsewhere

Western Digital Scorpio Black 750GB 2.5IN 7200RPM 16GB SATA3GB/S Notebook Hard Drive
Cons:None really

Pros:Extremely fast read & write times for a laptop driveVery large storage capacity
Comment:
You have to be extremely careful with laptop drives, as many of them are prone to failure (and with the flooding in Thailand, you really want quality for your cash). This drive'll give you what you need. It's not an SSD obviously, but it should compete pretty well with desktop-sized drives. And before you think that speed on a drive is nothing, understand that HDDs are usually what cap speed on a lot of different applications (both for work and gaming). Also remember that you can get a smaller drive if you're hurting for cash (although it's probably a decent idea to look around for price-matches too, those usually save quite a bit sometimes). The ultimate thing here is that laptop HDDs can fail a lot, so you really do get what you pay for.

N/A All I bought this HD to replace the original hard drive that came with my MBP (Seagate 250GB 5400 rpm) thinking it was gonna make my laptop run smoother and quicker but I was wrong. Tried to do a fresh install, system ran overnight (about 12 hrs) and OSX never ever completed installing. So I tried cloning my old drive but my system just crawled soon after that. Spinning ball of death every 2 sec, never able to do something. Tried calling New egg to get a replacement but apparently they cease taking calls ahead of closing hours. Now, I'm stuck with a bad drive till Monday.

none - see "Other thoughts" on installation help for a mac. none. I utilized a NewerTech USB 2. adapter to connect the drive to my personal computer. Then I utilised Disk Utility to format the drive with the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) file system. Make certain when you format the drive that you pick the GUID Partition Scheme in Disk Utility - otherwise you're going to have complications with drive recognition. I then utilised Carbon Copy Cloner to copy my old drive onto my new (larger) disk. Look up how to complete the hardware steps, and beware, you may need to have a Torx 6 screwdriver to eliminate the HDDs mounting screws.

Replace a stock 5400rpm drive with it, and speed improves at least 20-30 percent. Of course the speed can't be compared to an SSD that I own, but taking price into consideration, I'm very satisfied with this product.

I was nervous to pick this hdd up because of other reviews. Most tech reviews have stated that this "version" is prone to breaking and dieing randomly. I have not had any problems like such, and am happy with my purchase....for now.If you want reliability, i would looks somewhere else, otherwise back it up regularly.

Noticeably faster than my WD6400BEVT 黀gb from Western Digital).Don't be fooled by what anybody else says, this FITS appropriate on a Launch 60gb PS3 Challenging drive cage.So glad I bought this, worth the money in waiting instances for GT5 and far more storage! Absolutely nothing I was cautious about going 7200rpm as they apparently generate much more heat, but these drives aren't any hotter compared to the Caviar Blue's. 1 issue to note the difficult drive is on opposite sides of where most of the heat is generated. So glad I purchased this, worth the funds in waiting occasions for GT5 and much more storage!

750gb [check!] Sata plug [check!] WD built and branded [check!] Packed in major, fat bubble wrap that appears to have amused both my 9 and three year old's for awhile [check!] What's not to love about getting a 500gb osx partition and and 250gb win7 partition (both loving 64 bit working with the 8 gigs of ddr 3 that I just threw in there as well)! It didn't come with free of charge lollipops (cherry blowpops are yummy). In all seriousness now, this was portion of an upgrade to a 2009 MacBookPro model 5,3 (T9600ǘ.eight) that was bought with a stock 500gb [seagate] drive. Profiler shows EFI at 1.7 and 3gb SATA link, but have knowledgeable NONE of the beachball/hanging/stuttering problems reported elsewhere. Do note that I did a clean reinstall, then went cherry-picking for files in my TM backup. Noise level is perhaps ever so slightly more than the stock 500gb (which is plugged in right now with a NexStarTX case) and will naturally be a bit more than any 5400񴁀; as stated elsewhere, it's a whoosh, it's not annoying and it disappears behind any ambient noise [or maybe I've just become numb from the 'jet engine' fans in gaming rigs and consoles :)]. Also, I have but to notice any power management concerns with the drive spinning down...

I ordered this drive on the 25th and I'm operating it in my Macbook appropriate now. This factor performs far better than I expected, and my expectations had been hi. It replaced the stock Hitachi 5400 RPM 120GB HDD in my macbook. It's quiet, super fast, and immediately after a full day's use I can honestly say, that it's kind on power as nicely. Does not appear to be consuming anymore power than the smaller replaced drive. The installation took about ten minutes, make positive you have all tools required and it will be a very effortless install. This is the very first time I have ever replaced a lap top rated hd, so trust me it's effortless. So far I definitely love this hard drive and the price just tends to make it the deal that much sweeter, this is an superb item. NONE!!!!! I truly need to anxiety how quiet this drive is. It barely whispers. Like it.
