Great card
Comment:
-I sold my GTX 285 2gb and decided to buy this card. The card is amazing and after making a few changes runs perfect. -If you decide to buy this card I'd advise you to download MSI afterburner (Works just like EVGA precision). -I advise you check out Guru3d and change the default idle clock speeds. (ATI defaulted them really low)

Great card, price is the only downside
Comment:
This is an excellent high-end graphics card, but with the arrival of the 5970 and other newer cards, the price on this should drop. I'd definitely recommend grabbing this when it does.

XFX Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) HD-587A-ZNF9 Video Card
Cons:Very very long card. I'm using an Antec 900 case, and had to remove interior "VGA cooler" fan mount just to fit the card. Not a big deal since I wasn't planning to use the mount anyway, but it's a very physically large card. Drivers still aren't very mature.

Pros:This card is blazing fast, it's running cool, and unless I manually set the fan high, I can't hear it over my case fans.
Comment:
This card is great, I absolutely love it. Other than a particularly demanding benchmarking program (that slowed it to an average 23 fps all maxed out at 1920x1200), this card has absolutely eaten everything I've thrown at it. It's a beast, and is probably actually real overkill for your average user.

XFX Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) HD-587A-ZNF9 Video Card
Cons:A little big, but fits in mid-ATX cases with a lot of room to spare.Currently some driver issues that cause flickering when overdrive and multiple monitors are used.

Pros:+Amazing processing power that runs all current games with max graphics settings and 4xAA + 16xAF without any slowdowns.+Surprisingly quiet. I never hear the fan and temperatures stay reasonable.+Fastest single GPU card on the market at the time I am writing this.+Doesn't suffer from micro-stuttering like multi-gpu cards.
Comment:
I've had this card since the 2nd week it was released and all I can say is that it's absolutely amazing. I have yet to find a game that I cannot run at maximum settings. I haven't experienced choppiness in any game I've played, and am looking forward to the new DX 11 titles coming out.I've currently got it hooked up to 3 monitors, and it still maintains smooth gameplay even at stock clock speeds. I was thinking of buying a 2nd one, but decided not to because the single card runs everything perfectly at maximum settings! This card is a must buy for any gamer. ATI/AMD have outdone themselves and everyone else. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-20-09 04:46 AM

Comment:
Probably the best deal on a graphics card currently on the market. Near the top of every benchmark, this thing is ridiculous. I've owned the card for around a month now, and it hasn't failed to play any game i want at max resolution with no stuttering. Other than the price, this card is perfect! Do yourself a favor and buy one now.

Fantastic
Comment:
Building a new PC, saw this in stock and jumped on it. This card is excellent. Runs all my games and even stays a few degrees cooler than reviews say. The fan is quiet, but can get loud if you manually set it to over 30% (I leave everything stock, which is around 20%, and you can barely hear it). Card fits with an inch to spare in Centurion 5 case.

Brilliant Performer
Comment:
In my case this card is extremely quiet (unless being really pushed and even then it's not too bad) and from a speed standpoint, easily blows any card I've had in the past away. Using it in an Antec P183 case with corsair 750W PSU and overclocked 920CPU. Setup and installation were simple and I've had absolutely no issues with the card so far. Not cheap, but if performance is what you're looking for, this rocks!

Great Card
Comment:
Great card but I had a few problems with it quitting. It was a driver type error. New drivers were released today so lets see if gets even better. I dont understand why this site doesn't get anymore in. What kind of game are they playing now. I want o crossfire another XFX 5870 and no cards are in stock anywhere???

XFX Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) HD-587A-ZNF9 Video Card
Cons:* It is a very large card, the sheathe makes it more so.

Pros:* Strong Performance, Fully Sheathed Design Results in Excellent Cooling.* XFX Provides for Double Lifetime Warranty. The Best Among ATi partners.* Decent Goodies in Box.* Placement of Power Wires Helps Fitting Into Case.
Comment:
I purchased this product for my new AMD based system. I am running a 1920x1200 display with a quad core phenom II and thus feel the extra power (graphically speaking) is not wasted. In terms of packaging and contents, the Dirt 2 game on steam is simply a bonus for me. The little door hanger that says " do not disturb, I'm gaming " is cute. Otherwise it is pretty standard fare.As for performance, millage will vary of course, but it is the fastest single GPU part on the market as of this writing, so of course there aren't any problems that way.I have not found the noise to be excessive, nor have I heard the fan spin up to a noticeable point beyond the ambient system noise. I am not using Riva Tuner or any other software to modify the fan behavior. It needs to be said that this card is BIG. I had to jiggle with it to fit into an Antec 300 and even then I was saved by the wire placement.Deciding factors for me at purchase were availability (the 5850 would suffice but is - at this time - very hard to get), price (priced reasonably - of course that is subjective), and performance (it's the best for my resolution). The XFX double lifetime warranty made the choice of brand particularly easy, especially since I didn't have to pay extra for it.I would recommend this card for any new(er) system with a resolution of at least 1680x1050 or higher, preferably 1920x1080 or higher.

XFX Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) HD-587A-ZNF9 Video Card
Cons:no XP support, Limited by CPU, Size

Pros:Freebies, asthetics, POWER!!!
Comment:
This GPU is simply amazing, I upgraded to this card from my X1950 Pro and it blew me away, I NEVER thought I could see games run so smooth! The GPU is quiet and cool when you run it stock but if you start tweaking the settings it will get VERY hot and loud. This card is great but one thing that upset me when I installed it was a lack of XP support. fortunately It works perfectly on XP with the vista drivers.

Cons:Extremely priceyVery Long

Pros:Relatively low power consumptionvery powerfulDX11Comes with Dirt 2
Comment:
This card destroys almost any game on the market right now without breaking a sweat. It's a fairly long card at 11.5" but if you can afford it and it will fit in your case it is a phenomenal video card. It will melt your face off if you use Eyefinity.

WOW
Comment:
I was running dual ATI 3870's, and with this it blows them both away. I can pretty much play everything on max with this bad boy, also the integrated HDMI is a nice plus. Having to use an adapter for the 3870 was a pain. All in all a great card for the price compared to the Nvidia G2XX series.

Best Video Card for its price
Comment:
I would highly recommend this card if you're looking for a powerful card. My original plan was to purchase a gtx275 or higher but that required me to upgrade my existing power supply from 500 to 660 . The 5870 was the best choice with the minimum amount of new hardware. I did have to get a new case but it was about time for one anyways. This card is great, I have not run into any issues at all. Every game plays flawlessly on max setting on my 22

5870s are great, XFX is not
Comment:
I had a poor experience with a defective card through XFX support. I would recommend getting almost any other brand of 5870. The lifetime warranty is no better than a 3 year warranty, as it's the lifetime of the product. Asus, MSI and others will be supported just as long.

Pfft, 16x AA. That guy down doesnt know what he is talking about. The card does support 16x AA AND Super-sampling AA! It will make the graphic so smooth, you will no longer know what is reality anymore. This is the best card on the block, so get it and burn your monitor with its sheer power!

I went from a EVGA 8800GTX ACS3 to this bad boy. This thing screams and is rocking everything I've thrown at it at 1920x1200, even though the drivers are still technically beta.
