Runs quiet and actually packs a punch! Most review internet sites failed to show this card in a light that made it look superior to the GTX 570, but it is. Morphological Anti Aliasing is sweet! AMD's Crossfire scaling is fixed from the 5xxx series. This card comes with two GB of GDDR5, a nice bump for high resolution gaming with Anti Aliasing. Games like GTA4 eat graphics ram for breakfast and it assists with view distance! Add in future driver improvements and the quite decent cost, a good stock cooling resolution that is Substantially quieter than my 4850's Dust Buster style, and you have a real winner! No no cost game included (not a huge deal...). Coming from a Radeon 4850 I've had due to the fact July of ང, the difference is night and day! I can play games like Crysis and it’s not a slide show in particular locations! Fallout 3 with ultra settings AND 4x AntiAliasing + Vsync/D3Doverrider which was a combo my 4850 would choke on. I have 67 games on my Steam account now, and I want to go back through some of them and replay them with max settings and an general smoother frame rate, unlike with my old card that kept hitting the ceiling on what it could push smoothly. My graphics card history (best I can don\'t forget in chronological order of ownership): Trident s3 2 Meg, Hercules ISA+Vesa combined behemoth one thing or other, Riva TnT 2 Vanta, Geforce2 GTS, Geforce3 Ti 200, Radeon 9700 PRO, Radeon 9800 PRO, Radeon 9600 XT, Radeon x700, Radeon X1900XT, Radeon X1900XTX, Radeon 4850. For the 3 hours it worked Dragon Age two and Starcraft two looked wonderful at maxed settings. Display corruption started after about three hours. I consider it is a poor bios or improper voltage ramp up. I wasn't about to flash a bios on a brand new card that ought to operate straight out of the box. Noticed this is the updated revision card has the dual bios switch removed and the back plate as properly. Probably cutting costs with the newer revision was not the best concept thinking of the amount of RMA threads I located with a basic google search, can't be inexpensive repairing all these RMA's.

Probably the fastest single card I have ever owned, eats Battlefield poor company two for breakfast at 120fps 1080p with max settings, feels incredibly solid with a metal back and fairly hefty, Very inexpensive for performance, and does not run unusually hot in my HAF case.XFX never ever fails me in reliability and client support, which I have only necessary to use when Hoped there would be some adapters or other goodies that you normally get with xfx cards while the box is fairly aesthetic. It is a tiny loud on load but not out of the ordinary for monster cards not to mention the truth it is a quite subdued hum then a whine My tool less case's snap in catch had a issue holding up the weight with no undoing itself until I just utilised a ATX screw doubt it will effect everyone even though. I will tension once again this is really Really low cost for its power Nvidia can\'t compare.

Comment:
Incredibly quick for a single gpu. I know in single card benchmarks the GTX 580 is beating it in scores, but this issue isn't that far below it and it's not even targeting the 580's price range! All of my Applications saw a noticeable jump in efficiency. Upgraded from a CF 5770 setup and my Unigine benchmark score with usual tessalation, 4x AA at 1080P jumped more than 300 points. In my book thats a sizeable raise. Even Metro 2033 @ 1080p with advanced DOF off, maxed out otherwise, is operating at a stable 30-50 fps depending on the level. So far I am extremely impressed and I've heard absolutely nothing but fantastic factors about two of these in crossfire. -Big, large, large. Make sure you measure your case! I had about a millimeter between my harddrive cage and the card.-Don't have the second 1 however to get the full potential out of it.-Runs a bit warmer than my pair of 5770's. I feel like with two of these bad boys I wil be set. Some people have stated you should wait for the subsequent gen of amd cards subsequent year but the way I see it, aside from the 6990 this is the finest card of the existing generation of amd cards we will see, and the drivers are often finding superior.

Comment:
The card literally runs almost everything I throw at it in a single card setup. I couldn't be happier. Crysis runs at a excellent 40+ FPS on max settings in 1900 x 1200 resolution. It's also a extremely silent card that does not run hot. Have but to have any shut downs or video card problems. The newest Catalyst 11.two drivers appears to be operating wonderful and I only count on them to get greater. The double lifetime warranty is also fantastic. This just shows to me that XFX stands by their stuff and this was key cause I chose them. With video cards, people are usually updating their hardware, but it's great to know that if I make a decision to use this card for a whilst and it craps out it will always be beneath warranty. Also selling it won't be a dilemma as an additional individual will be able to take advantage of the warranty as properly. The size of the card as other individuals have talked about is quite huge. It barely fit into my mid tower, but it does. It's no truly a con as the dimensions of the card are readily available on the web site, on the other hand it really should be noted that a lot of mobos could have cooling issues when trying to set two of these into crossfire. Make certain that your mobo has sufficient spacing amongst the PCIe slots or else they will literally be proper on top rated of each other, assuming the each even fit. In my mobo, both cards would fit, but one particular fan would literally be blowing on top rated of the other a single.Believe of a brick you would use for creating and cut in half so that the width stays the similar and you have the size of this card, for those hunting for a mental image. My Computer is fundamentally a fresh construct. I had an old HD 4850 from Sapphire that pretty much died in the very first two weeks of the construct. I was operating an AGP technique with an X1950PRO prior to this recent build. The efficiency is naturally night and day between that old AGP method and this card. I decided to stop becoming cheap and I ought to say it's great to finally be on the high finish for when. It also finally hit property, the saying you get what you pay for. This is the initially time I've been able to play all games at max settings with no crashes or overheats.Thought about receiving 6950 and bios flashing it, but I'm curious to see how these cards work 1 to 2 years down the line, and what's an added ๖ in the scheme of items? Not worth the gamble imo.My specs are:GIGABYTE X58-USB3. These cards have ꦈ stream processors more than the 6870 series, add that to a fully new architecture with dual graphics engines, allows this card to be one particular of the ideal on the market place. With the new addition to the metal back plate, those who get the cards for tri-fire/quad-fire might notice some further heating issues.High energy consumption, upto 300 watts per card. I was very disappointed when i purchased my two 6870's in both efficiency and the strange 8pinǞpin connection rather than the 8pinǜpin as effectively as the cards only have ports for to cards in crossfire as an alternative of 3 or four. One week after i bought my 6870's newegg decides to drop the price tag 50 bucks per card to make area for the 6970's so i returned the old ones for a credit and purchased new ones.I get about 600-630 on Unigine Heaven Benchmark with 64 fps max and 29 typical on extreme and every little thing maxed at 1920x1200 per card.

If you have a issue with a vid card and you are dealing with CS/TS at XFX and nothing is obtaining resolved Its most likely your fault, Case in point I bought a goofy 5970 about 13 months ago, and talked with TS and got a RMA with zero complicationsHope Newegg goes thru here with a del crucial

I knew liquid cooling was to be utilized and xfx does not care if you use unique cooling just if you damage it (as he did) It worked till he did that and didn't mention it to me.and then they payed the shipping and sent it back. Amazing Performance and finest value for a product that provides Lifetime Warranty! The card is also one of the far better looking ones. Adore the XFX symbol at the exhaust finish. Nice!It runs cool, though fan can be a small loud at times even though in game. In my opinion, any and all HD 6970's supply greatest Value/Performance. Definitely Nothing. The reviewer Phaedrus demands to recognize, you are paying a small extra for the XFX due to the Truth it has Lifetime Warranty exactly where as other firms only offer you a two-year Warranty. This is really fantastic for people that program on NOT Modifying the card and strategy on keeping it a lot longer than us laptop or computer junkies.

Metro 2033, all maxed except 8x asni rather of 16x I didnt notice any graphic lag. Portal 2 max settigns 3 monitors, borderlands max three montiors, tell you the truth, I have nothing to complain about. XFX warantee info filled out, drivers appear solid (now) I did go into ati overdrive to manually boost one of the fan speeds (testing for noise/temp relationship) and I believe I could have voided XFX's warantee on that card.. even though no voltage or clock speed was altered, and I reset the card to default settings soon after like 2 mintues.... so if you care about getting the card replaced, I'd be careful.. and I could be incorrect about this... but now in ATI overdrive, the card shows as unlocked, and I suspect that if I had some sort of catistrophic error, XFX would say hmmm. Tested employing Unigine Tropics and Heaven (tesselation) demos, and BF Poor Company 2. 1080p, all alternatives set to highest. The card had no issue with Tropics or BC2, kept the FPS above 60 the entire way by means of. See other thoughts for the Unigine Heaven Benchmark. The Heaven benchmark with standard tesseltion turned on runs reasonably well, pretty consitant around 35FPS. Note the CPU/RAM are the bottleneck in this rig for this card.XFX delivers a lifetime warranty (transferable), they also provide an upgrade plan provided you register. Also, I'm not certain if the this is a challenge with the RAM on the card, or a driver concern; but in BC2 the game studders/locks 4 occasions in a row for about three-4 seconds each and every when joining a server. Right after that it's usally fine. Not a heat concern as the card sits at about 37c idle, 44-47c gaming. BC2 is the only game that does this, its fine with anything else. My XFX 4890 1GB does not have this issue. Hoping additional optimized drivers might help. This card runs quite cool in comparison of my other cards.Large improvement substantially much more than I expected. Initial time on the ati team right here and I am very content to adjust. I have observed massive improvements on all of my games and I have a lot of them. Oldest game is counter strike supply and my minimal frame rate has much more than tripled. Once once again I can not tension how a lot cool this thing runs soon after numerous hours of gaming it didnt go over 64c on max settings on several games even metro 2033. Which imho there are significantly much better games to bench mark than that one. But it does excellent maxed out. Also I reside in phoenix az so its not cold right here. To be honest the only cons I can think of are the reviews I see on benchmarking internet websites slandering this card. Only reason I didn't get a green team card this time was since of the texture fill rate pixel fill rate and shader math.Plus a lot of people I know only use intel and ati and they rave about how great ati cards are. Nicely I can see now what they're raving about. Coming from a GTX 285 ssc and by passing the GTX 480 for obvious reasons, totally no disappointment what so ever just a great product and is completely worth the cost.

Really very good card. Has the finest geometry processing for ATI cards, Finding 45+ fps consistently on intense new games like Bulletstorm, Portal 2, and DAɆ (AMD overdrive tweeking) with 4x AA EQ; all else maxed for excellent. Drivers ultimately close to great. Darn excellent OC computer software (i.e. Catalyst Manage Center). Back to title. I had to adjust the thermal compound on my card following a month simply because the efficiency was lacking from what I have been reading. I used IC Diamond, and that is the Very best thermal paste you can get your hands on today, no question. I noticed that the original thermal grease had been caked on and crusted more than the surrounding transistors of the gpu (I did purchase this card from Newegg btw), so it took a superior hour to gently scrub off with the Arcticlean compounds. I ought to have waited for Gigabyte to put out their version of the 6970s. I am shockingly disappointed in XFX for not giving this card the appropriate enjoy it deserves. Also, the fan can get pretty friggin loud immediately after ჾ% so wear a headset. OC'c to: 950mhz GPU clock, 1450mhz mem, რ% power, manual fan manage to 45% casual then 65% or additional when playing on-line (crysis, bulletstorm, BF:BC2, etc...). The auto fan isn't really intelligent and can enable your card to spike passed 90c if you're reckless. You may possibly have to manually override some games' graphical application settings to really see improved visuals. Extremely fast. The noise level hasn't bothered me at all so I'm not positive why men and women are complaining. It fit in Antec 900 case without any difficulties. I could not be anymore happy with this card. Finest early Christmas present a wife could give her husband. The 570 may possibly be superior selection in some situations but getting Eyefinity much more than makes it for it in my book. Also, I had to purchase a mini DP adapter to convert to DP so I could use my active DP to DVI adapter. If you look around you can locate dirt inexpensive adapters with reasonable shipping. It runs my Eyefinity setup without having any crashes at all in contrast to by Crossfire 5770 setup it replaced. I'm operating 4800x1200 more than three 21" fourɇ displays.

Okay, this card is quite good indeed... It handles any game you can possibly throw at it. I replaced the Sapphire HD 5850 2GB VaporX, which was also a great card, with this and I notice a huge change. It is incredibly close to the efficiency of the HD 5970 with a 躔 more affordable cost tag... It's also a excellent overclocker... I hit significantly better benchmarks in 3DMark and Heaven two.1, and runs Crysis on highest settings pushing 60+ fps on a single card at stock clocks.... Not genuinely a con but, the card is Very massive and requires a 6 and 8 pin connecter(not included). Make positive your case is massive enough to fit... The principal reason I was sold on this card, it's warranty. For anyone who plans to get a waterblock for liquid cooling on this card, soon after you've registered with XFX, you can inform them of the modification and they will add into your warranty and your still covered for life....(within reason).... With most cards, warranty is normally void after tampering with the card....I7 950Asus Sabertooth X5812GB XMS3 1600 DDR3XFX HD 69701000w Psu7 64bit

Sorry to take up space on the evaluation board here with out an actual review, but it annoys me when I see people today operating their mouths because a friend supposedly had a bad experience with XFX(which I extremely doubt) and they don't even own an XFX product with the lifetime warranty. Also people with certainly zero tech understanding downing XFX since they don't involve PSU adapters for your card. If you require an adapter for your PSU it is most likely of too poor of quality to be operating a card like this anyway. So get with it and cease getting penny pinchers and get a new PSU. I mean come on this goes without having saying for any card not just this distinct 1. If you want to run high finish cards like these get the proper equipment to run it. Not an XFX fanboy or anything just annoyed by peoples ignorance. N/A Like a few others have already mentioned this card does only perform around the level of the GTX 570. It does not target the GTX 580. So if that's what you were looking for sorry Nvidia is still the single GPU champ, but I'm really interested to see what occurs with the dual GPU cards when they hit the industry. Also to the guy who downed XFX's support, those guys who got denied a claim had been denied for a cause. I own the 5970 and 5850 crossfired each XFX and I encountered a dilemma with my 5970 that was rather strange. The BIOS's had been flashed from the factory backwards GPU1 had GPU2 BIOS and vice versa. So when I did the BIOS flash to enable fan control it bricked the card. I opened a ticket with XFX and they helped as much as they could with out an RMA and then with out question when I requested an RMA they graciously accepted the card. I can't think about that they denied anyones claim unless it was for a very good cause. XFX waranty is best notch and was 1 of the most friendly RMA experiences

AMD nonetheless wants to fine tune its drivers, for far better crossfire efficiency. (see below) Doesn't come with an XFX sticker, or any game demos, but I'll get more than it. I bought a second card a couple of weeks ago and appreciate each and every minute of it. Crysis bounces around 50 -75 fps. Unigine heaven went from receiving 52.9 fps in my previous 5870 xfire setup, to now scoring 73.6 fps (default DX11 settings). Just Cause 2 and Metro 2033 now run extremely smooth. The only game I appear to have taken a hit with is Negative Corporation 2. Even with the newest AMD profiles installed, the game runs at 11-26fps in crossfire - versus 48-60fps when I'm running it off of a single card. Even when I drop the settings to Medium, I still can't get decent efficiency. I now have to force the game to run in DX9 vs DX11, to be in a position to run the game nicely enough to play on the web. I've tried rolling back from the 11.two to 10.12 drivers to no avail. I'm hoping this will be fixed with the next Catalyst driver update, as I'm an avid BF:BC2 player. You could go with a 570맜 if you've got the cheddah, but honestly two of these (even one) is additional than enough. Highly recommended.
