ZALMAN CNPS9900 NT 120mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
Comment:
Cools my Core i7 950 down significantly. Was running at 52C on the stock cooler at idle, now running at 29C at idle with this cooler. It doesn't interfere with anything else in the case. Much more than adequate clearance (almost a 1ǚ inch) from my Corsair Dominator RAM with a cooler on leading of it and the north bridge heat sink. The stock cooler truly was the a single that was touching the very first RAM socket.Came with thermal grease, and a generous size tube of it. I didn't understand how much was in the tube. At perform when we get in replacement components D*LL gives us a tube that is just sufficient so I practically place also considerably on it. It's good that there is enough to reinstall it if I have to. I have a tube of Arctic Silver that is supposed to be great for one thing like three-4 procs, this is a larger tube. Decided to use the Zalman grease, as other folks have said it is very good, dunno which one particular is much better, I'm not going via all the difficulty to discover out over a handful of degrees. Green LED. Not big on LED's on anything but I didn't see a version of this in a non-LED like in the 9700 version. There are enough diag lights on my mobo and vid cards that a single a lot more is no huge factor. If I had to take the LED, I would have favored a diverse color to match the blue and silver theme on my mobo. A tiny awkward acquiring this sink lined up in the bracket and finding the screws started out. The edges are sharp as other have said so its hard obtaining a excellent grip on it plus I am usually worried applying also considerably pressure against the proc and board. There is not a straight path to the all the screws, so you have to hold the screwdriver at an angle on the front two screws and be careful that you don't bend the fins with the screwdriver. I didn't deduct an egg for this since I assume it was nonetheless simpler than the stock cooler with these plastic push and twist pins specifically when I had to cut a single off from the bottom to get it to release! Screws are absolutely far better. This factor is quite huge. Sitting in the box I was worried that it would not fit in my Lian Li case, but a person else in the testimonials with the same case mentioned that it would. There was much more than adequate space, now that I went back to write the overview it looks like they now have the 9900MAX (with of program a blue LED) that is a 135mm that I don't feel was there when I purchased this a single or I thought it was too big. Now I wish for five bucks a lot more I would have gotten that 1, it would have lined up completely with the rear fan in my case. This one sits slightly lower. Nevertheless I didn't see any individual posting any substantial temp gains over this slightly smaller one at lease not adequate for me to want to replace it anytime quickly.

Looks and performs excellent. What truly sold me on Zalman is the style of their heatsinks. I was lately putting together my initially create and wanted a heatsink that was not going to interfere with the ram slots on my motherboard (ASUS Crosshair IV Formula). This thing leaves Lots of room. I'm working with Ripjaws ram in the 1st slot with ease. Installation couldn't have been less complicated, actually consisted of putting one particular clip in spot (for an AMD chip). I was worried it wouldn't be secure but it seems strong as a rock. I haven't messed close to with overclocking however but my 1100T idles about 32C and hasn't exceeded 39C when gaming at max settings for hours on end. This was my very first create, so this could be my inexperience speaking right here but the thermal paste seemed to be significantly a lot more thick and sticky than I was expecting (think glue that is setting up). I had intended on spreading a thin layer across the whole chip but the stuff does not want to spread AT ALL. I decided to wipe off what I could and opted for the pea strategy as an alternative. The cooler dropped my i7-920 temp from 80C (Intel stock cooler) to 55C at 100% CPU load (under Prime95 test), idles at 33C. The green LED matches the Antec 1200 blue LEDs. The fan is really quiet and can be controlled with ASUS Fan Xpert fan profiles (P6T Deluxe V2 MB), idles at 🀎 rpm and max out at 2000rpm (full load). Didn't try the integrated resistor cable. The request for the defective 1366 clip support replacement took virtually two weeks to arrive and required a number of comply with up calls. There is no confirmation or whatsoever that the parts already shipped. In fairness, the Zalman customer support that I've spoken to Ɠ of them) are courteous.

It's a major cooler that does a decent job of keeping CPU temps down. I bought this one particular by accident. I meant to get the copper one. Doesn't cool as well as the copper one. Running 930 I7 overclocked, ATI 5870, 6 gb of ram, X-FI titanium fatlaty, two tricky drives and a couple of other items :)

For purely air cooling, I saw an 11 degree celsius drop on my Phenom 965c at stock clocks. Unless preference of LED color counts, none... (Would have preferred it to be blue to match anything in the case, but green is okay as well).

Employing with AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4GHz Black Edition processor, 8gb G.Skill RAM, ASUS M4A79 Deluxe motherboard, EVGA GeForce GTX 280 video card, a couple WD Caviar Blue 640gb difficult drives, and a Corsair 850w power provide, in a COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP case. Following some dinking about with BIOS settings, got it all up and running, and seemingly stable. Had anything in a Lian Li Computer-60 case a week back, with a Rosewill CPU cooler, and with this CPU cooler and COOLER MASTER situation, CPU/case temps are now about 20C less, with drastically improved technique stability. I'm (mostly) thrilled with the speed/performance. Huge and HEAVY. Make sure you have at least a mid-sized tower. Some clever cable routing goes a extended way, even though. Try to do a small measuring/planning ahead of you resort to duct-taping it in spot. I don't seriously like the green LED, but I'm nit-selecting. Also, when I set my case upright, I won't deny praying for this issue to not fall off (and take a chunk of my motherboard with it). I'd be a little additional comfy with some more tethering hardware.

Keeps my i7 920 a lot cooler than the stock fan. Was obtaining about 100 C in the course of CPU burn tests with Intel fan at typical CPU clock 2.66 GHz. Now with Zalman and overclocked at 3.78 GHz, temperatures keep below 70 C in the course of full loads and about 40 C when idle. After removing stock fan, I had to entirely eliminate the motherboard from the case before installing the Zalman fan. This was a slight inconvenience, but worth it mainly because the Zalman screws in tight whilst the Intel fan is a pain to lock in properly. I previously used a Zalman 9500 on my old Core Duo and was particularly happy with that one particular. I chose Zalman again mainly because of my previous expertise with the 9500.

(now I am a believer given that I generally used Arctic in the previous) None so far. If any, I had to eliminate motherboard but I knew that ahead of hand. Could be ten dollars less costly which would make it a wonderful get, good silver look instead of copper but that is individual pref. Bought motherboard does regulate CPU fan speed.

i5 750 idles with fresh arctic silver five at 23cትc on all cores in a stacker with decent airflow. it will drop much more as the tim cures. prime notch make top quality and packaging. wonderful hunting cooler. one of the ideal factory lapped bases i have ever observed and flat as can be. they took a little step backwards by working with a phillips head for the heatsink fastening screws. it is hard to get a excellent angle to be in a position to not strip out the two back screws regardless of whether the board is out or in the situation. what they really should have carried out is applied the same type of allen head screws as the 9500 and integrated a slightly longer notched out allen tool so it can have a fantastic connection whilst at that form of angle.not able to turn off the green led unless you want to danger taking off the quite modest clip that holds the fan to the bearing. so now i have a green heatsink in a blue themed case. cant get any better cooling without having stepping up to watter. i doubt even that corsair self contained unit that is so common right now could even run this cool.

Very quiet, cool, awsome style!Very Encouraged! My Core i7 950 at stock speed was idling at 34C at 75F room temp. Heavy gaming was at 42C.I use IC Diamond 7 Carat thermal compound on this one particular. Can get loud if operating at max 2000 rpm. This is the similar with any other CPU cooler running at max speed. Not seriously a con if you run your cooler at standard rpm. Fit into my Coolermaster HAF X and still have a lot of area. This is my first develop by myself and I never have any problems. Even with the OCZ Revodrive X2 240GB I still don't have any difficulties installing it. Decreased the temps of my i7 860 (overclocked to 3.6 ghz) at idle from about 45-49C to 31-34C. When operating FSX at ultra settings i got damaging 80-85C, now i got 50-53C, Large improvement!. Also, as it is fairly huge, it virtually touches the graphics card, not a issue at all as the 120mm fan from this cooler also cools my gtx 280 decreasing its temps by about five-8C which is awesome in my opinion hehe:) NONE its bigger than i thought seeking at the pictures. Solid construction. Great air cooling. Black nickle plating and a green LED does produce a rather industrial appear. Quiet, effective. Installation despite the fact that uncomplicated and "easy" was a small frustrating receiving the screws to thread evenly for the duration of installation. It took a tiny time to get the screws to ultimately thread flush with the back plate. You'll need a extended screw driver to install this effectively. The size of the fins interfere with your sight and reach to the mounting screws. 120mm fan...its to be expected. Overclocked Q9450 at 1.3volts on my former arctic freezer 7 pro temps ran at mid 30's idle and hit 60c with all cores under 100% load. With this beauty although at 1.3v I idle at 25c to 28c ! All cores beneath 100% load I haven't gone above 50c. I keep inside the mid 40's with this cooler under 100% loads. A critical improvement over my arctic freezer. First time I've employed a zalman item. I will absolutely decide on them in the future. If your like me and were questioning which way the fan blows its towards the bigger of the two heat sinks. Lots of space inside an Antec 1200 even with optional 120mm side case fan. Applied arctic silver 5 as an alternative of the thermal paste integrated.

1. Quiet, controlled Ɣ-PIN) fan operation2. Excellent heat sink compared to stock fan/heat sink3. Widely supported (AMD, Intel 1366, etc) 1. May NOT be a con if you have the right case, but this factor is really large. The photos on the website (as several other individuals have mentioned) do not tell the complete story. In a micro-ATX case or something that isn't a giant, this isn't going to fit with out issues. It is also wide, so there may be a issue if your motherboard requires the graphics card be placed in the first PCI-E slot (closest to the processor). Mine does, but it nonetheless fits. I have an AMD 1090T clocked to 3800 Mhz (Stock 3200). I don't do energy overclocking or something, just want a bit of added overall performance boost. At stock voltage Ƒ.275) and stock speeds 񢜀 Mhz), the px at 30.01 in Hg, Temp at 23*C. The temperature sensor (as reported by AMD Overdrive) is 28-30*C on the stock cooler and 20.1*C on the Zalman. This indicates that the Zalman is cooling the processor generally to room temperature and that saturation is not taking place (perhaps due to the shear size of this thing).Overclocked at 1.35V and 3800 Mhz, the stock cooler is 36-40*C and the Zalman is at 24-24.5*C. Considerably tighter tolerances and much much better cooler performance. The Zalman spins rpm (MAX), and with the PWM, this point spins devoid of raising the temperature above 24*C. The stock AMD cooler spins rpm (MAX) and generally has to keep around 7000 to preserve the temperatures below 40*C. The stock cooler at 7000 rpm is about 28 dB and the Zalman at 2000 rpm is about 11 dB.

It looks good. Dear Zalman,You have got to be kidding me with the installation of this thing, right? To start, my socket 1156 bracket came with 2 nuts missing so I couldn't even screw it in. I took the nuts out of the 775 bracket and placed them in the 1156, and each and every time I attempted to screw it in, the nuts popped right out. How am I supposed to screw this thing in when the heatsink itself is blocking the screws? This is an unbelieavable installation, and absolutely my last Zalman buy. Completely ridiculous to install.

I enjoy the style and the performance is fantastic. I replaced my stock HSF on my Phenom II X4 940 and installation was a breeze, even though this is a fairly big cooler. Fortunately with AMDs there's only a uncomplicated clamp. Temps so far are quite impressive, beyond my expectations, and the noise is extremely minimal. Even at near full speed (around 1900RPM) I didn't uncover it really audible at all, and in low RPM mode it's super quiet and only a couple degrees C larger. I wish I would have ordered this lengthy ago! So far I've OC'ed my 940 from three.0GHz to 3.4GHz and the temps are nevertheless 30C idle and 48C load. This is supposed to be quite good for i7's, so on Phenom II's it's much more than sufficient.

This fan presents excellent cooling, and like the description says, it's nice and quiet. Some have mentioned they don't like the green led, though with the theme of my case it functions nicely. The included thermal grease is, in my opinion, significantly greater than what Arctic Silver delivers. Cautious when mounting this beast. The installation was effortless enough, but soon after mounting the underside brace, I noticed that the top mounting bracket has nuts on the bottom that are merely wedged into the holes. Whilst screwing the fan brace onto the best mounting bracket, the nuts came out, so I had to pop them back in and commence more than a couple instances. Overall although, the installation was effortless, and the fan performs like a champ. I was seeing temps of 55-60deg Celsius, and this fan brought my cpu temp down to 35-40 celsius below load. This fan is incredibly competitively priced for the efficiency it presents! Thank you Zalman and Newegg!
