See other thought See other thought I don't personal this specific card, but yet another 460 1gb. This review is to respond to one of the reviewer who had dilemma with 1080p resolution when connecting to a HDTV. I had precisely the very same concern when I very first installed my 460. The picture was wider than the Tv screen all around. I had to re-size the resolution to 1814x1026 to make it fit. Then I found a solution. I utilised my HDTV (a Samsung, old model) remote to bring the Television menu, and altered the screen size from 16ɍ to "just scan." Then I was in a position to go into my Pc setting to re-set display resolution to 1080p. Hope this assists those who have similar issues.

Based on the testimonials from about the web, I bought two of these babies to replace a Crossfire set up with two Radeon 5870s, and they have not disappointed: in all my games they entirely preserve pace with the performance I was receiving from the 5870s, for a fraction of the cost. My folding@home performance has risen by over 500% as nicely (that's not surprising although: Nvidia cards are far better supported for folding@home). And my prower usage is a lot lower as nicely.Other pros:- Zotac's lifetime warranty- non-reference external exhaust style- price: substantially less costly than EVGA's related offerings with lifetime warranty- the only GTX 460 on the industry that provides display port- smaller than many other cards on the market of related efficiency - the second DVI output eats up a excellent bit of the exhaust location- energy connectors to the rear of the card rather of on the side; it's not a problem for me in my case, but some may find it inconvenient in smaller instances- Newegg was not participating in Nvidia's Just Result in two giveaway for the 400 series- bundled with Ubisoft's new Prince of Persia game: like several other gamers, I don't like Ubisoft's DRM requiring a continuous web connection to their servers even for single player games, so I refuse to play their games; therefore I lose out on a cost-free game. That's the price I spend for sticking to my ideals. The GTX 460 is a excellent providing from Nvidia, and delivered in a superb package from Zotac. To any person taking into consideration a single higher end card like a Radeon 5870 or GTX 480, I say two GTX 460s in SLI will totally destroy any single top rated end card for the similar cost or much less,And for anybody taking into consideration EVGA's offerings, I just would like to point out that with XFX and BFG now out of their way for Nvidia based cards, EVGA has begun to substantially raise their prices for their lifetime warranty cards: generating the consumer pay ฤ to ุ more for the precise identical cards. With Zotac, you're going to get the similar coverage, and not get gouged just for a bit of extended protection.

-Excellent performance, Just Cause two functions on high settings with out a hiccup.-Lifetime WarrantyThere isn't much else, which is great. I can't ask for a complete lote much more. -High temps, barely though. The temps are about 50c idle, and can get to 70 whilst gaming, which is a small higher than I'm comfy with.I'm certain some aftermarket cooling to my case and/or GPU will fix this. So, it's not a enormous issue.

Superb single card, leaves great opportunity for upgrade to SLI (if you've got the mobo).I don't have a appropriate develop to overclock this but even at factory standards this is an great card, specifically for the expense. Handles highest settings of SC2, Civ5, and so on and handles heat very well, only hits 70ኬ*C immediately after seriously long sessions, even hot still handles everything fine. Didn't get an SLI mobo, my own fault. Zotac seemed like the greatest price/warranty when I bought it, haven't really dealt with them at all, but it came with everything I needed, DVI/VGA adapter was good to have included.

Looks like an fantastic card. Looks good and has SLI. Would probably run really quick. Graphics are amazing when it actually works. Drivers and tools are included on the CD. Has each power adapters to alter 2 four-pin adapters to PCI-E adapters. Runs at over 100 degrees C under load. As soon as it hits the 102 degree mark, it shuts itself off and you have to do a hard reboot right after 1-two minutes. If you don't wait, its nonetheless too hot. It repeatedly shut down though attempting to do the Windows Encounter Index built-in to Windows 7. Had to RMA it for this cause, and I won't be receiving the exact same one again. It appears to be a little significant, but then once more, most cards are now when comparing them to a GeForce 6600. I'm presently operating 2 GeForce 6600's that are in SLI mode. I was looking for a graphics upgrade to take my laptop above and beyond. I'm at present getting a four.three Windows Expertise Base Score due to the graphics cards. Manufacturer Response:Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with our product. ZOTAC has technical support obtainable 24ǝ to totally help you in diagnosis and potential replacement if needed. If you believe your product is defective, you can also request a RMA directly from ZOTAC. Graphic cards are covered under a normal two years limited warranty, extended with registration inside 30 days. This card is impressive!!Runs all my games at greater settings than my EVGA GTX 206 Core 216 with higher frame ratesSmaller than GTX 260Much less power consumption than my GTX 260DX 11 looks goodRuns at reference 5850 range with minor overclocked Absolutely nothing key just a side not. The fan on all the EE cards appears to be louder than the fan on the reference cards. This is not noticeable in the course of gaming with headphone on. It is still quieter than my GTX 260. I have been a loyal EVGA fan for two GPU generations now. But this generation I chose Zotac simply because they offer you a high excellent card with very same Lifetime warranty at lower price. Zotac has won a new fan.

I presently am operating two of these cards in SLI along with an I7-920 @ four.0GHz.Out of the box, I got a 27,500P in 3dMark Vantage. The cards overclocked to 835񳉶񳏀 with ease, yielding a 31,890P.Operating furmark, I'm getting a total technique load of 520 watts, measured with a watt meter. This method scored far better than my prior tri-sli GTX285s, while using pretty much 1ǘ as considerably power...significantly quieter...and considerably cooler. How can you beat that? For a couple of gaming observations, I have played the following:Starcraft two: 1920x1200, All settings maxed, hits my vsync cap at 60fps, does not drop.Crysis: 1920x1200, All settings Extremely High, 4x AA. hits my vsync cap at 60fps, hardly ever drops below 60 in intense battles The only con is that you can't run three of these in tri-sli.That stated, a pair will easily play anything totally maxed out, so... To give you some back ground, here are my last couple of GPU setups:SLI GTX260s -> GTX295 -> TRI-SLI GTX285s -> 5870 ->SLI GTX460sDo I really like to toss out cash on video cards...no...but I positive like to try them all out and in as several combination as doable. Two of these 460's in SLI very easily beat the above combination in efficiency, energy consumption, and temps.

The card works well immediately after two modest easily fixed complications superior support from zotac windows would not identify or manually install drivers from cd, but operating the software fixed this easily, the manual says their is a cable to make the hdmi audio function and their is not one, i contacted zotac chat line fred was beneficial and told it did need to have 1 and to set nvidia as the default sound, and it made me really feel like idiot for not checking it, fred on the chat was valuable and speedy with the information a+ this is my 1st time posting a review on any item, but the quick and effortless support from zotac impressed me enough that i had to let everybody know that.

It works... well the second 1 does. Fan noise hasn't been a difficulty for me, although I haven't tried placing a heavy load on it. RMA'd my initial card as it was a source of random and login freezes (apparently many 460s have this challenge as posted on nvidia forum). Not positive if I even registered my item in time for the lifetime warranty, which played a factor in deciding upon a graphics card for my method, but RMA'd my very first one with no challenge aside from having ME to submit a ticket asking for the status of it. Zotac support is hardly that, forums gave no assist when I skilled the freezing, just stated if it's a NVIDIA dilemma, then its not their finish's challenge. I've been attempting to register my replacement to no avail, as it says its already registered. I've submitted tickets regarding it, and none have resolved it, and I'm coming close to the deadline to register it for my original warranty. If you want the finest support for your product, I'm fairly confident it isn't here. Don't be tempted by their lifetime warranty.

o Has a display port as opposed to quite a few other GeForce GTX 460's.o Smaller then the PNY GeForce GTX 275 I replacedo A lot Quieter below load then my 275o Cooler under load then my 275o The Graphics Processor throttles all the way down to 50Mhz in Windows 7 64bit, no lag or stutter with Aero on I don't have an additional PCI-E slot in my pc to run it in SLI :( At initially I was a small disappointed that it didn't blow away my GTX 275. but then I found out that this specific "Fermi" chip overclocks well. Using the MSI Afterburner the stock clock showed as 675Mhz, I was able to overclock it to 825Mhz. I then played a three hour session of StarCraft II, FULL good quality settings @ 1680x1050 / 55-60FPS solid. No crashes or graphics artifacting. I did not have AA on, but who needs that at those resolutions?

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) ZT-40402-10P Video Card
Comment:
Cards performed effectively, games ran fairly smoothly (Crysis nonetheless would not run smoothly on my machine at maximum settings at 1920 x 1200 resolution). Lots of connectors - though I genuinely only needed and use DVI, getting the HDMI and DisplayPort would be handy if they ever created nice S-PVA or S-IPS monitors with HDMI ports - mostly just TN panels and I won't use those. The style of these cards is flawed, I did not know this ahead of I bought mine but their style deviates from the reference GTX 460 style and this makes these cards run quite hot and loud. In tests, these are the loudest and hottest GTX 460 cards created. 1 of the DVI ports blocks component of the vent and the fan design does not dissipate heat incredibly effectively. I had two of these in SLI and the best card ran a superior 6º C hotter than the bottom card. I had two GTX 260's in SLI and their max temps had been 74º C running Furmark. I ran Furmark on these cards and walked away for five minutes, when I came back the leading card was at 98º C and the bottom card was at 92º C - and the safety threshold on the GTX 460's is 105º C. The fans were on, but due to some design flaw they only go up to 70% - and that truly is not maximum speed, but they will not go past 70%. They fluctuated under load and occasionally the RPMs went higher, it's a computer software fluke and drivers did not fix it. I purchased these for the cost, and Zotac presents a lifetime warranty. However I'd strongly advise avoiding this card in certain. Immediately after I made custom fan profiles for my cards I would get standard load temps in games of 84º C on the top card and 80º C on the bottom 1. Extra cooling changed nothing (And I have several 120mm fans that had been running at max speed to cool these off - just to get the temps I just mentioned), once again it is bad heatsink and fan design of the card itself. The GTX 460 cards are supposed to run considerably cooler and quieter, but these Zotac cards run hot and loud just like a GTX 470 and 480 (I was acquiring same temps and these factors are noisy at even 50% fan speed). I may well nonetheless buy Zotac, but I RMA'ed these cards - I advise either a reference design GTX 460 or 1 of the aftermarket styles with numerous fans, but stay away from this 1 - it is a mini-GTX 480.

The in-box overclock utility Firestorm is pretty lame. It doesn't even tell you want the existing speed is of anything, you set it to what you want and hit apply then everything goes back to default values with no clue to what's actually going on or where it is set at. I almost certainly would have been happy with most mid-range cards as they all kick what I utilised to have.

It idles at 35C which is good, but while gaming it will be in the range of 70-90C THAT IS HOT! While running Kombuster in Extreme burning mode it went to 96C THAT is where I stopped it. I know it would have went greater but the MAX temp for a 460 is 104C so I did not want to get so close. It of course does not go that high while gaming tho. Now this is not the max OC I can obtain threw heat, that is not my issue, if I tweak anything greater it will artifact. This is usually that max OC that anybody can obtain with ANY GTX 460 1GB ASIDE from the MSI one. In a evaluation I read they got the V to 1.1 so that allowed them to attain a 927 core [DAM!] And it was at 65C!!! So if you want a card for the pros on this 1 and don't intend to OC it to it's EXTREME MAX [like I do] then get this. If you DO want to OC it as Considerably as doable, get the MSI 1. Card did precisely what it was developed to do, deliver superior performance at a very good price. AVP, Poor Business 2, StarCraft 2 and many far more all run at 40 to 50 fPS. Had to contact support concerning what I was certain was a driver issue, instead I got some guy/gal that was totally certain that it was my power supply. Come to locate out they had been using the specs from a GTX480 to calculate my PSU requirements. Given that I wasn't budging on the PSU problem, they decided that I required to RMA my card just to make certain there was no difficulty even though we hadn't figured anything out but. Since I was only asking about feasible driver problems concerning a couple of games I told them I would just wait and see if it started to turn out to be a regular occurance across the board. Needless to say Support was significantly support. I found out later that there had been in truth driver problems concerning the complications I was having and that Nvidia is in reality working to resolve those issues in the next driver release. It would have been nice if support would have accomplished their job and truly researched the issue rather than just pull random suggestions out of a hat just to get out from under the ticket. Zotac shows alot of promise, I think they are a very good corporation, but their support method needs some work. The card works good, and I feel once Nvidia works the bugs out of the drivers that it will be even greater. On a side note I would recommend that Zotac take a good look at the bios on these cards and see if there are any bugs that need to have to be worked out on there end as I have observed other card manufacturers lately post bios updates that address bugs and other issues.
