This is the ultimate MB for the atom 330! It has anything you could want and has four gig of memory instead of two. I have it loaded with Vista 64 and have got it to overclock to 2.0Ghz so far and got a windows encounter rating of four.4 with this tiny issue! Installed presently in a Antec Mini Skeleton-90 so you have to be cautious as there is no metal plate to support support the inputs, but the situation provides fantastic cooling. I have this for my operate laptop or computer and have been in a position to set up and run COH: Tales of Valor on it with minimal settings @ 1900 x 1200 with really tiny lag. Attempt that with any other netbook! If you are going to overclock it with any accomplishment, then set the bios to unlinked and only transform the cpu speed. Leave the memory stuff on auto. I've not got it stable undertaking messing with the memory settings yet. I ran prime 95 64 bit on it for a couple of hours with no problems. Right here's my create information. Fantastic low price answer for all-in-a single board for use on 1080P HD HTPC. Performance is excellent. Plays all hd movies and blu-ray perfect. Flash functionality is acceptable not as poor as some would say. If you use HDMI, HDCP won't let toslink output so unless you have an HDMI AV Reciever no digital sound output options w/o performing something unintended. Runs a small hot for me w/o a fan, but db is acceptable for HTPC. Drivers for Atheros Chipset on Ubuntu work when they want. Display overscanning problems with Sony SXRD 50" in all resolutions in Ubuntu. NVIDIA X Config wants some work. Zotax A-U OCʂ., Important 4GB PC26400, 2xWD 1TBFALS RAID5, LG BluRay Burner. Process functions great with Windows 7, but very good luck with Linux.

good mobo/cpu with atom CPU that can run 64-bit OS. nvidia chipset performs nicely with HD media, with the right software. i'm overclocking by 20% and it doesn't get as well hot. got a excellent price from newegg, as usual. do not let the mini PCI express description in the specs confuse you! there is no slot for you to add cards to. there IS a mPCI-E on the board, but it is occupied by the wireless network card/antenna. even if you wanted to unscrew this and take away it, you still would not be able to use the mPCI-E slot mainly because the slot faces upwards towards the board and it would be almost not possible to jam something thicker than a credit card in that slot mainly because all the other mobo components get in the way. overall a good board, but if you want some thing that can handle graphics-intensive games, then this is not for you.

I've ordered 5 of these so far and the top quality has been steady. Supports AHCI in theory to the three sata and 1 esata port. I've tested by way of Ubuntu Karmic Koala with dual difficult drives and NCQ works good. Can be overclocked to 2Ghz (I just use temporarily for testing cpu bottlenecking) and has lots of arcane memory tuning capabilities. The marketing material says it supplies up to 4G of ram, but it only will allow access to about three.5G. With standard frame buffer sizes you will then be down close to about 3G. Unless you need the added ram, 2G is essentially visible. One particular of the cpu fans tends to make also a lot noise but not worth returning over it. Doesn't utilize ECC memory. Lots of fingerprints on the bottom of the motherboards, exactly where are the gloves guys? I in fact don't require all the video capabilities, but wanted high efficiency io and liked the external energy provide for smaller form issue and low energy consumption. More affordable chipsets don't advertise AHCI/NCQ so I went with this far more expensive option. Killawatt showed about 32 watts with one challenging drive, dvd-rom, cf via sata adapter.

Low value tag, tiny footprint. Fairly capable, as lengthy as you're not trying to decode hi-def on it. Lots of ports and connectivity — from HDMI to digital audio to gigabit Ethernet — created this a great property-theater Pc. I was quite pleased with it until it died. A tiny slow compared to some hardware, but it was fantastic while it worked.Nevertheless, it started finding "funky" about two months right after I bought it, with USB devices beginning to often not work correct, the video display from time to time randomly reverting from the HDMI output to the VGA output, and the boot process sometimes failing at the BIOS screen or just as Windows was very first starting. Stopped working altogether currently, about five½ months soon after I purchased it: Attempted to boot it up, and it wouldn't even display the BIOS screen, much significantly less commence booting the OS. Blank screen, no beeps, no keyboard lights, nothing. Modified the RAM, disconnected all devices, identical result. I am now going by means of the Zotac warranty/RMA course of action, considering that it's beyond the NewEgg return period, so I guess we'll see how excellent Zotac's client help is. It seemed like a excellent machine when I first bought it, but it died within six months. If I had to do it more than yet again (and if Zotac won't replace it, I may possibly have to), I might have purchased a bigger pc for my HTPC, a single that could deal with the demands of hi-def greater. I adore the modest footprint and low energy demands of this factor, but I consider next time I may well like a box with a little a lot more horsepower in the CPU.I'm a skilled software program engineer who's owned hundreds of computer systems over the final 25 years, and just before this died, I was willing to put it in the major ten % of them just since it genuinely did seem to be a quick-and-effortless all-in-a single option. That's why it gets two eggs rather of one particular, regardless of dying so soon after acquiring it. But it's swiftly slipping in my thoughts to the bottom quartile of all the computers I've owned, and my final opinion now hinges on Zotac's buyer help.

-Every little thing is built in, you just need to have a HDD, DVD Drive, and memory.-Rapid enough to run Windows 7 x64 just fine with 4gb of memory.-Plays Blu-Rays flawlessly.-Onboard sound card is great for outputting to receiver.-VGA/DVI/HDMI video connections.-Optical/Coaxial hd audio output. -The integrated fan is not needed and installs in a incredibly wierd manner, I supposed if I were to OC the board it may possibly come in handy.-Wouldn't thoughts an expansion slot. Paired this board with 4gb memory, blu-ray drive, 500gb hdd, and rosewill mini-itx cube case for an brilliant HTPC.

The board is compact and quickly sufficient to be a multimedia powerhouse. I am playing the audio and video out by means of HDMI on my at 720p on my HD Tv. Works! Hulu, Netflix no challenge. Watched numerous a show on it already. WiFi is good. Unbuntu can be applied but you cant play NetFlix with Unbuntu / Linux since of DRM :( its a computer software problem not hardware.) In brief Extremely impressive. Very first annoyance Loading XP SP2 was Really Difficult. I used a smaller SSD tough drive to make a silent Pc and XP would fail on reboot. The only operate about was to load XP on the drive on one more Pc. Then total the install on this tiny box. Next the FAN. This fan is NOISY !!!! I mean ANNOYING!!!I attempted to run with no the fan and the heat slowly got hot to a point exactly where I was concerned and there is no speed handle. NONE. You can see the SPEED in the BIOS and the fan is four wire which implies it can be controlled but its not there. So there goes my silent Pc? I have been looking about on how to solve this challenge. I noticed they started selling the box comprehensive with a extremely COOL case but alas they are utilizing typical drives. As items move forward I would really like to see silent or as close to silent Computer as you can get.

No want to repeat what other people have stated - for a mini-itx HTPC construct it's near great; plays SD & HD content material more than my LAN good (via XBMC) and streams on the net content material beautifully (running Linux Mint eight - setup was a breeze).I have this in an MB350 case that is ventilated on all sides and I still want to use the fan - it was operating way as well hot after 15-30 mins w/out it even sitting out in the middle of my room. Don't even Consider about fanless if you plan to have this in a full or semi enclosed location. With the included fan it appears fine even sitting behind a glass door in my entertainment center. FYI, the M350 case is super small (i.e. tight fit of mobo + fan, 2.5" HDD, RAM & cables only) and even has two USB ports hidden in the front bezel - I'm working with one for a Bluetooth adapter; would be a great location for a thumb drive if you strategy to boot from USB/use a Reside version of Linux, etc. Only complaints hence far are probably about quality handle - some concerns I observed in the course of the create, and 1 afterwardsɅ) The back of the board exactly where the ports are positioned is flimsy & affordable. Though this tends to be an issue with some low-high quality boards, I would've expected a lot more from Zotac.2) The PSU port & WiFi external antenna are as well close to each other and I had to gently lift & pull the ports in opposite course in order to be able to get each in & completely seated, but that's no longer an situation for me & leads to the following annoyance...three) A lot of have listed it as a pro, and I anticipated as such, but the built-in WiFi is garbage (at least on my mobo, maybe I got a poor apple). It's weaker than weak. See below. To address one complaint mentioned by a person else regarding the lack of screw holes to attach the included (or an additional) van to the heatsink: although that's accurate, you don't need to have screw holes - just location the fan atop the heatsink, align holes to hs blade gaps & screw I didn't obtain this mobo for the built-in WiFi because I had no problem finding a USB adapter or employing the eth port to connect to my wireless bridge. Even so, if the single mini PCIe is going to be taken up by a WiFi card, then Zotac should at least make positive it's a top quality one. I get max of two bars to my Netgear WNDR3300 802.11n router operating DD-WRT, but soon after the 3rd or 4th day it began dropping randomly and I couldn't even stream anything or browse my NAS as I could at initial; took a fantastic 30+ secs to load up Pandora.com in Firefox, which is ridiculous. I disabled the WiFi, removed the antenna and wired it to my other WNDR3300 in the residing rm set up as a bridge - no difficulties because. I get total bars from every single other wireless device in my house (notebook operating on N; Wii, TViX media player and iPhone operating on G), so it's not my router or WiFi. All I'm saying is have a backup strategy in case yours has a crummy WiFi card like mine.

Really pleased with installed result. Small and effective. The connectors risers on the rear of the board appear a slight bit flimsy when installed. The Zotac-supplied case insert plate is also particularly flimsy so it doesn't help the predicament. The result is that when plugging in the monitor to the VGA or DVI ports the whole connector riser appears to flex where it solders to the primary board. And going back to the case plate insert all the blanks except one particular have to be manually removed and they are incredibly sharp and flimsy so have a Bandaid ready. To the fellow beneath possessing posting issues: I had the identical issue at very first and was sure I had a DOA on my hands. I pulled 1 of the two RAM modules and anything posted fine on the remaining a single. I went back to re-install the pulled module and identified a tiny piece of plastic wrapping on the pin side of the module. I feel it came out of the motherboard RAM slot and was left more than from manufacturing because my memory modules were not wrapped just in a tricky-plastic package. When that tiny piece of wrapping fell off and I re-inserted the RAM almost everything was superb.

Plenty of characteristics, fan is near silent. Streams video more than the LAN without a issue. Not the quickest mITX board in the world, but it's an Atom. None genuinely. Had to grab the wire cutters and soldering iron to make the DC jack reach the port on my case (old five.56mm ammo can) but that's not Zotac's fault.

Modest, incredibly low power ྭW idle), runs good. Can touch side of heat sink and barely really feel any heat. CPU fan is kinda loud. I hooked up a low noise adapter from my Noctura fan (in my mythtv backend Pc) and now it's whisper quiet. CPU temps with the fan about 38C...with no the fan, the temp rises quickly to 60C+. Operating at Mythtv frontend with mythbuntu and 8gb patriot usb essential. It's in my master bedroom so becoming quiet was crucial. As stated above, had to use a low noise adapter to get the CPU fan to be quiet.Nonetheless have issues with overscan on my Philips LCD. Had to use DVI to DVI connector (TV only has DVI connector) to obtain 720p immediately after hours of work. It worked fine with HDMI out to DVI in out of the box..but it wouldn't do 720p (only 1080i). Regardless, mythtv funs fine.I wish mythbuntu and the wireless worked superior. When in use, I have ethernet plugged in, but when not I unplug it and use wireless. WICD says I have 80% signal, but mythbunu can not remain connected to the frontend with no the ethernet.

All-in-a single package. Effective 90 W DC energy provide integrated like quite a few laptops use which is far better than a standard energy supply. Can play back HD content with suitable drivers (nvidia); you'll will need a VDPAU enabled video player for Linux. Low power consumption ྾ W idle and 42 W load). Runs cool and quiet. Runs quite properly on Linux (I favor Arch Linux but Ubuntu function effectively too). Can boot off USB so no need for an optical drive unless you wanna watch DVDs on it. WOL works well. Kinda pricey. As of 13-Sep-09, there is no help for Linux temp monitoring of the CPU or MB temp. You can view the GPU temp with nvidia's computer software, but you can't do it from the shell as far as I know. Hopefully, a person will release a functional patch to allow the kernel modules to report the temps in lm-sensors - this is possibly just a matter of time. This is a minor point, but I consider that everyone savvy sufficient to build a Pc likely wants the capability to monitor the onboard sensors as properly. BE Conscious that this like several other all-in-ones will reserve some memory, 512 megs in this situation, so you genuinely don't get a full 4 gigs. Also, it shares your DDR2 for video RAM as the on board video does NOT have its own memory bank. For instance, you give the video card 256 megs and the board auto. reserves 512 megs. 4096 MB - 256 MB - 512 MB = 3328 MB of program RAM. Is this genuinely a large deal? No, but be aware of it when you POST for the initial time and see that there is only 3,328 MB detected! This MB, Silverstone SG05 situation, four gigs of Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 = 跾 shipped.(I had an old HDD so expense there). If you don't have an old HDD laying around, add that expense and add the expense of a slim DVD drive if you wish. There are many unique IR remotes you can use. Add the USB Streamzap Computer Remote for ฮ which operates nicely with lirc and that's about it.

At the moment attempting to install this board for the second time and possessing the exact same issue with this board as I did with the first a single. All the devices power up fine but the board will not POST. Dead screen! I have changed the monitor and cable independently no difference it isn't the monitor or cable. I have tried resetting the CMOS as directed at the ZOTAC website, NO Transform! I am getting rather perturbed with this board. I am setting up a Media Center Computer and am beginning to rethink making use of this one particular. Maybe I have received two boards from the same negative batch I don't know. -unbelievable type aspect + cpu/gpu built in = incredibly effortless to manage.-ion make the itx platform in fact viable now-runs windows 7 excellent (RTM anyways)-runs boxee good-runs blurays ideal (with a small adjusting) -the built in wifi uses up the mini pci-e slot, wish it was integrated in some other way to free up that slot.-even dual core atom isnt substantially to be too excited about as it is the bottleneck for this board, but offloading the video to the ion tends to make this a non issue. I put this in a APEX MI-008 Black Steel Mini-ITX Tower and due to the fact the energy is external i was able to get rid of the energy provide that came with the case and modded the situation for a 120 mm fan to sit direct ly above the chip, runs cool and quiet. The set up replaced my bluray player and I use it for bluray and online tv (boxee yay!). I also picked up the Gyration 2.4GHz Air Music Remote which i very recommend as it is from time to time almost less difficult to use then a mouse.

Incredibly good unit - effectively created and constructed. I put with each other a very first class Blu-ray HTPC based on this MB for below 踰, such as MB, situation, Blu-ray drive, Challenging Drive and Ram. Characteristics on the MB incorporate a gigabit Ethernet port, 802.11n wireless, Atom dual core Intel CPU and Nvidia Ion GPU 񣼸M) all integrated. It powers and has connections for three internal Sata 3. devices (internal sata BD optical drive, sata HD plus one particular additional), and involves its own constructed in 90W power supply to power every little thing. It comes with a tiny optional fan for the CPU/GPU, and the miniITX form aspect is very little and extremely quiet. It all functions together nicely, and is straightforward to develop. The user Ought to download and install the most current MB Bios, the Chipset drivers and the Nvidia Ion GPU drivers for it to function as intended. It is not a important dilemma, just an completely required step to get it up to optimal. I have 4 Gig of DDR2 ram onboard. I use the Zotac as an interface for world wide web activity such as e-mail, browsing, viewing Hulu and Netflix streaming video with good results, as nicely as typical DVD and Blu-ray viewing. Employing the HDMI output to my audio/receiver & HD Tv, I also get 5.1 surround audio in the HDMI connection - genuine nice. I also advocate the Logitech DiNovo-mini USB bluetooth Keyboard, as an superb interface for this unit.

Snappy motherboard with a lot of capabilities: WiFi, Nvidia video, sound, eSATA. It runs cool and quiet devoid of the CPU fan (CPUS fan adds minimal noise). This is getting used as a HTPC and is fantastic. None Be certain to install the Nvidia chipset drivers for this sucker. Get the drivers from the Nvidia website. Do not use the drivers from Zotac's site or CD. Windows Media Center and Hulu were choppy, and I was quite disappointed. I read a different critique that mentioned to install the Nvidia drivers, so I tried that. Works like a charm now. Incredibly snappy--runs perfectly.

Completely silent. The HDMI is awesome for your HTPC. Every little thing you will need outside of intense workplace applications / gaming. I had an problem with the HDMI audio not changing. I ended up having to disable the onboard audio to force it to use the Nvidia HDMI audio. This is an OS dilemma so no real concern. The Powersupply is external; power output on the board is on the best right hand corner Ɣ-pin to three SATA). This must not be a issue if you are not making use of an ITX situation.Program accordingly. Make positive you get a appropriate case (one that does not come with a powersupply) and that it does not want/use any four-pin connections.
