I bought two of these boards. One to be my Windows Residence Server. The other a media box operating Windows 7 so my fiancee can stream Japanese media to the tv. I am really content with them. They are little, quiet, and low energy consuming. The Atom does a wonderful job keeping up with every little thing. The back panel is indeed a little weak. Be careful when hooking up a VGA monitor. I did put the fan on the CPU. It was running way too hot with out it.Put a Blu-ray drive in the media Computer. Mama Mia plays fine; Wolverine does not. Tried Wolverine at a friends home and it works fine. Require to attempt the drive in my workstation to see if it's a issue with the drive or just underpowered program. Windows Home Server is built on Windows Server 2003, and the NVidia NForce NIC drivers are not stable on that operating method. Had to pick up a low cost USB NIC. The NForce NIC functions fine under Windows 7.The HDMI output functions good on my Acer H233H monitor, but only displays garbage on my old, low cost, off brand 32" television.I would undoubtedly acquire this again.

I didn't acquire this sytem at newegg, but I wish I had (I would have saved income!). Atom CPU combined with Intel chipsets are know to use a good deal of energy (the chipsets are present hogs), but what I didn't realize about this system till another retailer told me was that with nVidia's chipsets, a dual-core Atom like this will only draw 8 watts of power. This IS a low-power program. This has rapidly Gbit LAN, e-SATA (!!), tons of USB ports, built-in 3D graphics, HDMI, a fanless CPU heatsink, and so on. The case is effortless to add to, except the wire from the fan is tight across the leading of the CPU heatsink and the energy cable is brief, but I just added a energy cable extension I had lying about from prior builds. I wish I had purchased this from newegg. Please kick me. This technique, configured with a 3.5" Western Digital 1 TB "Green" HDD, consumes between 26 and 31 watts through standard use according to my kill-o-watt meter. The seriously cool thing is that when it goes into sleep mode, it drops to 3 watts, and it wakes up automatically (!) when a client tries to access it's shared drives. Functions fantastic for a low-expense household server holding all of the household's information, with an additional 1 TB Green HDD connected via e-SATA for everyday backup. You can have a house server for the usage price of a incredibly little light bulb (assuming an typical 25 watts continuous use).

Gaming is actually achievable, and the Atom @ 2Ghz is a good performer compared to it's single core 1.6 incarnation. I'll go over some of the game efficiency (other thoughts) later. This board is genuinely revolutionary, and I suggest it to any individual for a media machine, or a light weight gaming rig. It's great. The optional CPU fan (non optional if you run @ 2Ghz) is loud and doesn't function any speed manage. For shame Zotac. The VGA port is poorly anchored, so I really feel safer working with the HDMI or the DVI instead. I'm utilizing the universal M350, with four GB corsair ram, 320G sata II hd, and an upgraded antenna. I utilised the Bios to set the FSB to 667 forcing 2Ghz on the processor, and allocated 512 ram to the GPU.This factor is fairly great. Killing Floor is perfectly playable @ 30-40 FPSWoW on low settings averages 50 FPSThe Witcher was unplayable (surprise)CSS and TF2 were each fantastic, dipping only as low as 35 FPS with a very good quantity of action going on.

Small form-factorLow power consumptionSuperior processing speed None I use this board as a media PC in my living space exactly where it replaced a Through Artigo system. It is stored in an enclosed cabinet with really little airflow. I have had no stability issues with this setup considering that it was installed. It gets a small warm (I have not measured temperature) but it has had continuous runs of more than three days numerous occasions.I use Media Player Classic for video playback. No difficulties with .avi, .mp4, .mkv or .vob files even with Firefox operating a Flash app concurrently. No problems with Flash video.

This mobo performs exactly as described. Extremely couple of items these days live up to their hype but, this does. If you're seeking for a really small motherboard to construct your own HTPC around I can't believe of a far better option. Does BluRay playback as smooth as silk. Plenty of outputs such as SPIDF - HDMI and 6+ USB. WiFi functions properly too. Not readily apparrent hot to install the included CPU fan and you do need it. Had to fiddle with that for awhile just before determined it anchored into the heat sync fins themselves. No included Win 7 drivers. I had read a assessment that said the external power provide for this mobo gets way too hot but, that hasn't been my encounter so far. Seems to run about as warm as you'd expect. Can touch it. Do pony up for the full 4GB of RAM as the ION Chipset will gobble up as much as 30% of Program RAM.

Used this with a WD Scorpio HDD and M350 case to make a silent HTPC for my living space. So far it functions good and I've had no issues with it. The built in wireless-N is a bit on the weak side and drops off quick as distance increases. I have it about 25ft from the router with 2 walls in between and rarely can connect at even half speed. Still quicker than G although. I do networking for a living so I know how to set up a wireless router to get full N speed, and the built in receiver is certainly lacking. I replaced it with a different USB receiver and immediately had full connection speeds. I'm not saying it's negative, but preserve it in mind if you have a router/AP at the other finish of your property that you want to connect to.Soon after all the comments I heard about the slow speed of the Atom processor, I was pleasantly shocked. Certain, it's nowhere near my main system, but it's not supposed to be. I found installing Windows 7 and other apps to be pretty painless and it continues to be responsive to HTPC remote commands even when I'm playing 1080P (hardware assisted of course).Wonderful small board, and surely worth taking a look at. Just don't expect it to do issues it wasn't created for.

Built HTPC with MD-100 case, 1 TB Caviar Green, and 4 GB Corsair memory. Runs Media Center incredibly well. Was in a position to use dual HDMI/DVI output with MC playing movies on HDMI even though internet browsing on the DVI monitor. Also, was able to record Tv (HD HomeRun) and playback Netflix at identical time (did notice some slight choppiness). All this is without having any overclocking. Added some holes to the top of the case for the CPU fan. Windows 7 64-bit quite responsive and no installation issues. Overall an impressive board. 1st unit encountered repeated blue screens through install. Had to RMA it. The interface strip on the back does appear a little flimsy. Foruntately DVI and HDMI are at the bottom edge so not too much flex when plugging those in. Actually ought to come with the slim SATA energy adapter (search for DIG-31631, really couple of alternatives out there). Netflix buffering has to be manually controlled (scaled back) but this is a Silverlight concern, not hardware.

Good style, compact HDMI output became flaky immediately after three months, on startup HDMI signal is output intermittently. A different problem I noticed is that the complete PC just hangs when plugging in cables like audio or USB. Also rear connectors are incredibly poor top quality, the metal is too weak and bends when you plug in factors.

Aim: Strip out the guts from an old TIVO 2 Case and use it to develop an HTPC. The low energy, built in components. I use it to stream HD video from my HD slingplayer. Works with Win7. When making use of the latest drivers from Zotac I get 300MBS throughput. The wireless card will not function with my Belkin N+ wireless router, but will perform with a yet another. This was quite frustrating and took many hours to get operating. I have given up on the Belkin, but the Netgear WNR854T works fine. When streaming Slingplayer, the sound will stutter. I finally identified the answer, you will need to configure the sound hardware for the two speakers through the HDMI Hardware management. No more stutter, no far more difficulties. I tried working with the less high priced Intel board, and mounted a chopped down decent power supply (tore case open to fit in Tivo box, but..The power supply brought on so significantly heat buildup, that the case cover could not be applied. the external energy supply solved this. I was also able to overclock Zotac ION to 1.8GHZ and tension with Sisoft Sandra with Nary a Hiccup. Really pleased.

- Thought of external power supply is good (saves space and reduce internal heat)- quick enough to run win2k8 r2 server 24ǘ- set it up with 2x2GB RAM, 2x1gb5400rmp in raid1- has a Mini PCIe slot - three SATA - The included CPU fan is sh.t -replace it!(I bought a silent 100mm fan and managed to mount it on the CPU !cannot be thicker than 12mm!)- CPU fan is certainly required - it has no Television output (composite or s-video)- I think the RAID is a fake raid- had complications with the ubuntu installation and had to use software program raid, win2k8 worked although in fake-raid1- VGA connector is very loose- WLAN card occupies the Mini pcie slot- could have some much more cable adapters for case fans- included SATA optical drive adapter has to be modified manually (power cables) - but worked- 3rd SATA is shared Would be interesting to find out if the PCIe mini slot can be connected to a SSD and if it will boot from there. Not positive if the heats sink has to be so big when you need to have a fan anyway. I would recommend lessen the height of that factor and add a decent silent hq fan.

I have been creating micro personal computer systems for about 12 years and this is the most satisfying obtain I have ever produced. Something about the modest footprint, silent operation, puny power usage and great stability makes for a extremely satisfying hobbyist encounter. I put this into the really cool and sleek mini-box m350 and I liked it so considerably that I built a second 1 a week later. I can't afford to get 10 of them. If you have been seeking for tiny, quiet and high top quality HTPC do it yourself hardware get this board with 4gbs of gskill RAM, a pair of two.five" SATA II 320 gb HDDs and take pleasure in with a 50" Samsung 1080P lcd.Running Windows 7

Excellent package with HDMI, VGA, DVI, tons of USB, eSata and 802.11N wireless. This is running as a wireless Myth frontend and works excellent. It handles H.264 and .mpg files in the GPU, at ~ 5% CPU utilization. It plays DiVX .avi files at roughly 50% of 1 CPU. The 802.11N wireless card did not work properly for me. With a Linksys N router across the room, I only got slightly much better than 54Mpbs efficiency. I replaced it with an Intel 5100 mini PCIe card for ษ and now I'm happy.

Bought this board about Christmas for an HTPC. Running Xubuntu 9.10 with XBMC and three x 1T drives in Raid5. So far it has been flawless. Installation was trouble-free. Boot time is mediocre, though I rarely turn it off. Built in Wi-Fi sucks!!four sata ports would have been superior than three. Runs a little hot with out the fan, but the included fan is quite quiet; besides, how low do you keep the volume in your household theater anyway?

- Smaller- Looks amazing-Zero troubles playing HD video.-Incredibly quiet-Low power consumption-Ultra portable (fits in my laptop bag)Not a single issue playing HD video at stock clocks. Immediately after overclocking to 2.1 ghz and 900 mhz memory clock, this factor is very rapidly. I have however to uncover any type of video that bogs it down. Has an problem with flash. (such as games on facebook, and so on) although I've heard theres a mini pci-e decoder card you can use to improve this. Not a huge deal, due to the fact its not truly built for that.Ran a small hot after OC'ing. But was a uncomplicated adequate fix.Had to build my own cables to be able to hookup slimline ODD.(though I would do it anyways to maximize air flow, just use cables from an old desktop powersupply) If you get this board, I would advocate acquiring some arctic silver five and couple thermal pads. The processor uses a thermal pad, and the GPU/NB/SB chip makes use of thermal paste. Following re-seating, this factor runs at quite reasonable temps, though the old paste was Very tough to clean off, be quite cautious if you do this.Method specs: Zotac IONITX A-U, Jetway JC-300-B Case, 4GB G.skill memory, 1tb samsung 3.5" drive and sony slotload DVD.

This is the Swiss Army Knife of mini ITX motherboards. It's not a powerhouse but will do so significantly, I was surprised. Can play any game, run Windows 7 x64, play bluray, fanless power supply, and so on. A genuine Gem. It wasn't noted or made clear that the Half mini PCIe slot would not accept an SSD card. I assumed it would but they are various formats. Half mini PCIe or mini PCIe SSD cards do not follow the PCIe architecture and will not function. Those SSD cards will only work in netbooks who use a mini PCIe slot as a form factor to mate the SSD card. The only factor that would make it superior for me would have been a second RJ45 for those of us don't do wireless.

I bought this board, a m350 case, ADESSO WKB-4000US rf keyboard, xbox 360 wireless controller, 4 gb ram, windows vista ultimate, 160gb two.five sata hd, running an external TB drive with esata connection for a movie jukebox. Running the technique with test files up to 720p. I only have a projector and a tube television. The projector looks fantastic at 720p. I threw each and every file at it. I even ran downloads while watching movies. Only skipped for the duration of 720p movies when I jumped around the chapters too significantly. I ran games at full screen with the xbox controller. No fails on this board. except the fan. it's loud. I tried it without it and the case got warm. I put the fan back and it cooled down instatanly. Purchase a new cpu fan. The 1 included is really loud. just the stock cpu fan is loud. I'll buy a new 1 these days. For a residence pc the energy light is way too bright. I had it on at night and it became a night light. I red somewhere to shave down the lcd to dampen the light. I think I'll just disconnect it. acquire some brief sata cables if you are going with the m350 case. not significantly room in there. also my xbox 360 wifi reciver barely fits in the front of the case in the hidden port. I will be attempting to replace my desktop with this one due to the low heat and low power from the unit. If the power goes down I can justify replacing the other two computers in my house. Go Zotac!

Consistent quality - I ordered 10 of these and they all worked. Gig-e is really high quality; handles 7200 byte mtu at line speed (I can get 120MB/s 1 direction, 1.8-1.9 gbit bidirectional), coalescing interrupts to less than 7500 per second. CPU can be overclocked to 2 Ghz, Ram timings can be tweaked and auto recognize lower latency ram. Boots like lightning in like 11-12 seconds with CF boot drive. Can boot fine from USB CD-ROM or USB flash drive. Low energy. CPU fans are el cheapo, some rattle. Wireless card (Atheros 9k chipset) is unstable in Ubuntu Linux (interface drops whether or not dhcp or static) and locks up two.6.31 kernel. Only three SATA, 1 eSATA when BIOS supports 6. Mobo doesn't also have ATX power block in case you want to move to normal power supply. Linux can't read cpu temp / fan speed / etc. Flashing BIOS needs Windows / DOS. 4GB Ram only shows up as three.5GB... almost certainly BIOS in high mem. Some SATA cables or SATA connectors are inconsistent considering that some connections are extremely loose while others are extremely tight. Fingerprints on the back of the motherboards! Silent with out fan, but under load I can't hold onto the giant heat sink or ram heat spreaders so I installed the cpu fan. The cpu fans are quite poor good quality but do a excellent job of keeping cpu and ram temps under 45C. I boot with two 7200 rpm standard drives plus a Syba CF boot drive and they pull a bit over 90W by way of power supply just fine. 32-35 watts (not such as tough drives) is wonderful; I pull a little under 50 watts with two challenging drives so it should deal with 3 drives just fine. AHCI / NCQ is fine in Ubuntu linux w/ two.6.31 kernel.

Works good in Linux with MythTV and a inexpensive Hauppauge USB HVR-950. It's a software program-based Television tuner, but even with MPEG4 encoding on the highest settings it manages to keep up. Haven't tested HD however. Triple SATA power cable may possibly be a tad short for some cases (Thermaltake Mozart TX's secondary ITX motherboard mount, in my case) Newegg actually requirements to sell typical old four-pin Molex extender cables. That mentioned, it's still my preferred on the web shop.
