Nothing to dislike. Operates good. Quick with good wireless N. Quite impressed. Employed Rosewill wireless keyboard and mouse and it is bolted behind the Sony Bravia. No concerns whatsoever and it is a good 15m from the router with two rooms in the way. FAT32 drive messed the WIN7 install and couldn't detect the external drive. BIOS was a bit of a terror to get into and I had to resort to a different keyboard to jump in. When you configure for NTFS the program is away and its plain sailing. However, spent a entire day attempting to uncover anything that it would boot from, SD card , MP3 player. In the finish I had to borrow an external DVD drive. Zotac need to make some form of bootable file. Which would make WIN 7 less complicated to install.

Small, has everything you will need except IR, Ubuntu is very properly supported, very good BIOS features. I hear the wireless is no fantastic, but I don't use it so I can't comment to significantly, when I tested it briefly, I did get stuttering in my video stream. The fan is a bit noisier than I had hoped, but considering it's smaller size it isn't to poor. Purchased an R6 compatible IR receiver plugged it in, loaded up Mythbuntu, installed XBMC and Boxee, created some scripts for irexec and I was off to the races. Just attempting to figure out a way to remotely power it on now.

Little, lightweight, low power, low price, Atom 330 dual-core, HDMI out, integrated wireless networking and VESA mount. None but. This machine is beautifully integrated. Loaded it up with Ubuntu ten.04, loaded the NVidia driver by way of the normal Administration/Hardware Drivers, and off we went. I'm not sure why, but I had to start with VGA, load the OS and get issues setup, then reboot with only HDMI connected in order to get HDMI to operate, but then it worked perfectly. Perfect for my digital signage application. Oh, I often turn hyper-threading off on these points. Video decoding might make far better use of hyperthreading than Flash does.

Great form aspect and efficiency. The value is good and the fact it came with a free little form element mouse and keyboard is a plus. Adore that it plays 1080P with out difficulties as well. The wireless is horrible. I tested with two various routers at no additional than 20 feet away. The strongest signal I could attain was 50% though all other devices in house i.e. 2x PS33, 2x iPhones, Macbook, HP Laptop and Wii all got 99%-100%. I purchased a little D-Link USB and that works excellent now. Does not take too considerably away from the appear and can now get 100% signal strength. The Zotac does get a tiny hot at occasions and also makes a tiny much more sound than I like. Not enough to greatly bother me. The wireless was a huge deal though. I bought this device initially to save space on my desktop. I gave my gaming machine to the kids. Besides saving me space, the major factor was the capability to play 1080p video. This thing does and it is great. I have Ubuntu and Windows 7 installed and they both operate without a challenge. Have mine mounted on the back of my monitor and output VGA to an Acer monitor and HDMI to a Sony KDL 40V2500. It functions great. Moved it a couple instances to the front to output to a 52 Samsung and it also worked perfectly. I ended up receiving a small D-Link wireless USB and now get 100% connection. HDMI sound is corky at times based on the monitor you are outputting to.

Low-cost, total technique. Quite smaller. E-SATA out, Wireless N, and 10럼񲿘 normal. Runs extremely quiet, even locked in my media cabinet with restricted ventilation. Low on power, has a power block? Program functions nicely, nonetheless, it functions significantly better immediately after you install the Nvidia drivers from the web-site. Install each the architecture and the video drivers for the ideal performance. They won't function miracles, but my boxee plays incredibly smooth in fairly high rez on my 1080p 46".

It's smaller with a lot of ports. Every little thing else.I bought this machine expecting laptop high quality. Instead I received early 90's processing power. I have tried on several occasions to tweak the bios, but to no effect. I am operating win 7 x64. I can\'t get this machine to approach something seamlessly. Each and every job takes far to lengthy and is jumpy when I scroll by way of the fundamental explorer. I believed it could be the graphics drivers, but I discovered the newest and greatest and it nevertheless had troubles. I was using the wireless on the device. Saying that it is much less than impressive would be giving it an award. Nonetheless, I connected it to lan and nonetheless had trouble streaming anything from Hulu, or my private network. I would give this a negative egg if I could. I thought about giving this machine to a buddy, but deemed it to be like giving them garbage. (sincerely) I tried to make contact with the RMA department, because I can't think that this machine isn't broken, but I wasn't offered a return email. DON'T Acquire FROM ZOTAC!!!

Expense efficient, nicely-suited for a MythTV frontend program. NewEgg got it to me in 3 days as promised. Could usually be more affordable. :) Installed Mythbuntu 10.04 from a 4GB USB drive (using usb-creator-gtk to develop a bootable flash drive) and had it up and operating in under an hour. As some other people have reported, no HDMI audio when I initially fired it up. When I configured Myth to use PulseAudio, configured Pulse to use digital stereo (HDMI) output, and last, but most essential ran alsamixer in a command window to unmute the SPDIF outputs, sound works wonderful.

Modest form element, about the size of a Wii. Power draw is 27 Watts under load, won't hurt your pocketbook if you run it 24x7. Operating this as media center with Win 7 32bit. Wireless N, HDMI, USB and eSATA no challenge. El cheapo USB Television tuner does the job, no lag through playback and recording. Just hook up a massive drive through eSata and you are golden. 1080p playback with no lag. No optical drive, so ought to install from USB. Driver CD included is useless -- when inserted it just pops a dialog stating that the hardware is not supported.Driver download from manufacturer's internet site is a _Main_ pain: Bandwidth throttled following initial 500 K and most downloads time out right after about 2 - three Mb. Only way I was in a position to get drivers off of their web-site was utilizing a download manager with resume and manually stopping/resuming regularly. Hardware gets five stars, but support earns a 1 star only for this. If you're seeking into receiving a media center box this machine is the way to go. Positive, for the same value you can purchase a mobo, CPU, RAM and a tough drive but you still need to have to get a case and, let's face it, it's not going to be as slick as this case. If you have a remote file server or don't mind hooking up eSATA/USB then this thing is for you.

Installed with no matters on the back of my 46" Sharp LCD Television - had to buy from Residence Depot a 36" Flat Leading Threshold, 1-3ǚ" wide, Aluminum, cut to size and drill 4 holes to attach it to the Television and the supplied bracket, and it is out of view, cool and silent, for much less then Ű.00, excluding the screws and nuts I currently had readily available :) No issues with HDMI/HDCP or audio over HDMI. Not tried the optical audio port yet, but it is green in device manager. BIOS solution to overclock to 2GHz (not utilized in my setup). XP3 Pro with SP3 slipstreamed OEM bluescreened right after the initial required reboot but Win 7 32 bit Home Premium upgrade installed on leading with no troubles and no drivers needed. Runs slightly warm but not hot in typical operation. Wireless is useless - two other laptops have "strong" signal in the incredibly very same spot exactly where Mag does not connect due to "very poor" signal (no other RF devices about). An external antenna might fix the issue, but it is easier to hook up an usb wireless adapter when needed. Fan gets loud and the heat output goes way up if you overclock to 2GHz. Shiny black case calls for a continual supply of Windex to keep fingerprints out if placed anywhere exactly where it can be observed. Annoying missing device driver for coprocessor (?!) in Device Manager (Win7x32 Home Premium) but all seems to work OK. Missing "how to" set up guide for XP Pro to go about the blue screen issue. Numerous of my "must have" programs do not work below Win7x32 - from NetStatLive from AnalogX to VNC, disk imaging, and a handful of others, but it is not a Zotac issue, need to have to discover a way to set up XP instead on Win 7. Not supported directly by Ubuntu but :( Making use of it with a 2.4GHz wireless keyboard with built-in trackball and a LiteOn BD player in an external VANTEC NST-530SU USB2./eSata case (PowerDVD functions fine over USB for BD playback). Nice to keep the BD powered down until needed :) Connected to nearby LAN via wired gigabit. Making use of it primarily for IPTv and Hulu - with Flash 10.1p2 Hulu is pretty much usable on a 3Mbps DSL connection and 1080p display, but for ipTV it works well with SOPcast, wma, vlc, actual, and avi (media player classic house cinema).

Silent Mythbuntu frontend. Straightforward install employing a flash drive and UNetbootin. Wonderful HD video, video tearing resolved by utilizing the "slim" VDPAU setting. AC3 audio making use of optical SPIDF - Mythtv settings: outout SPIDF, AC3 passthrough checked, internal volume off. 28 watts power draw for the duration of HD playback :) (Kill A Watt measurement). None I've noticed. Had it up & operating, playing back HD video < 1 hr right after opening the box. Working with 1 Gb ethernet not WiFi.

I was really impressed with the Zotac Mag, booted win 7 swift rapid and in a hurry, graphics are great on my 60' dlp and 24' lcd. I have three of the acer netbooks and the preformance of the dual core is extremely noticible more than the single core. Ion on graphics are exceptional. I have usually been a fan of Nvidia. Properly there is none, I knew exactly what I was buying. Researched it and it seems to be precisely what the doctor ordered. I built a dual core AMD back some time ago as an HTPC and really was grief striking at the funds I spent creating it. Most individuals do not put a power home in there living space exspecially if you are married my wife loves her television. So in my case it was wastefull to have all that machine to surf the internet and watch and occasional video. But the Zotac costing less than 3 hundred with and LCD mount included is the excellent resolution for us. I use it as and HTPC when we are house and when we go in the RV we attach it to our 24' LCD Acer monitor and we have a personal computer on the go. Wireless function makes it best for this. As far as the price in yet another assessment I disagree I believe this is fairly priced, the system peforms quite well but if you are looking for a gaming laptop then that is what I would obtain. I have my powerhouse in the bedroom AMD 955 Quad, 4gb ram, 1tb storage and so fourth. I did not buy the Zotac to compete on this level.

Small compact and somewhat powerful for its size. Running Windows 7 and I am utilizing this as an HTPC which seems to play all that has been said in other reviews. Right after loading Windows 7 the HDMI does not output multichannel audio, only stereo to an Onkyo SR506. I am utilizing SPDIF as a workaround till this is resolved by NVIDIA or Zotac. I have yet to discover information on how to fix the concern on either Zotac or NVIDIA's internet sites. It would have been good if Zotac put this details about the Windows 7 compatability on thier web page. I like the unit and hope that they HDMI audio issue will be resolved soon mainly because the MAG looks very good as part of my property theater rig. One cable to my receiver is far better than two.

Look at the specs. If that's what you want, this is a wonderful small box with few if any surprises. The fan is fairly quiet, not poor for an HTPC setup, but audible at 8 ft with line of sight. Linux installs flawlessly (Fedora 12), but see below. The energy LED on the side of the case is really stylish, and the case itself isn't too poor. The atheros chip in the wireless card is not properly supported in Linux for the moment. If you want to get it operating, you need to have to either develop your own kernel or just the most recent "compat-wireless" ath9k module. Even then it runs very slowly, about a quarter of the speed you'd anticipate. I picture this will resolve itself, and I knew it was a doable problem ahead of I purchased the box, but as of the moment it seems to be a real problem if you're organizing to install Linux and don't have an option strategy for networking. Acquiring the most out of video also means installing the proprietary NVIDIA driver. There are packages for different distributions, though I grabbed the latest bleeding edge version from NVIDIA. It makes for much smoother video than the nouveau driver right now. Suitable now I'm using VGA+analog audio, so I can't comment on the HDMI.

Runs XBMC Live, drives 1080p to my 40" Tv more than HDMI, and doesn't skip a frame. The ideal set leading box. Just like every person else here has stated, the wireless card inside sucks to the point where I got 20% reception where a laptop in the precise identical position had 90%. The router was only 20 feet away with no walls or other interferences, yet the signal was not strong enough to stream any media. I advocate either using the LAN port, or an external USB wireless adapter with antenna. Onboard IR, like some of the other HTPCs, would be a bonus but most remotes have a USB dongle anyway.

Boots quickly and runs Ubuntu quite well.nVidia had linux drivers offered, and they installed with out a hitch once I figured out how to shut down the linux X server. I had full-screen high-def video right away upon reboot.Really small, very quiet. Feels warm, but the cooling system seems to be very efficient shooting the hot exhaust out the best. As other people have mentioned, the wireless is horrid. Where my laptop picks up a strong signal from the router 30 feet away, the MAG is showing 1-two bars, and the connections hangs frequently. Wired works perfectly.Took some tinkering to get the audio out by means of the HDMI. It's still not excellent, but working well enough for me now. Running the Ubuntu updates soon after installing the nVidia drivers hosed factors. Do it the other way about! The included mounting bracket has holes set up for a modest LCD, not a massive Television. It doesn't come close to fitting my huge Television in the living room. Purchased this looking to create a smaller server for web development testing. Was originally going to go super-bare-bones, for for about โ far more, I figured I'd get the MAG for the dual-core and the HDMI output. Quite glad I did, as I maintain it plugged into my Television to run Boxee, though simultaneously acting as a little LAMP server. Good to be able to just FTP into it to upload additional movies for Boxee.Couldn't figure out how to make a bootable flash drive from my Mac. Ended up performing it under Windows utilizing the little installer tools over at pendrivelinux.com. (Thanks, guys!)If you care, the black plastic case attracts dust like crazy. I don't care, so I didn't list it as a con.

Out of the box this machine performed wonderful, i have installed Xbmcfreaks 9.ten v14 standalone media center. With that getting stated xbmcfreaks live cd installed on the hdd comes with VDPAU installed, alsamixer, drivers, lirc. VDPAU/HDMI video and audio output worked out of the box as soon as i set it in xbmc. I did not have to install any extra drivers besides doing a typical operating method updates sudo apt-get update/upgrade. I bought the following remote which all the buttons did what they stated on the control out of the box with the current xbmcfreaks 9.ten installed no configuration required what so ever. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880121001&cm_re=remote-_-80-121-001-_-Product Wireless.... It works but it's just not quite excellent for distances longer than 15ft. Had troubles with WPA2 but i'm 95% positive that's my routers fault due to the fact my laptop does the very same when its set to WPA2. I definitely recommend this to any user wanting to make a media center, i have played a few hours of video with no lag (audio or video) and the machine just runs warm and not hot. I'm assuming my method came with the newest firmware simply because i have read about people today have troubles with heat that was fixed with a firmware update.By the way i used wicd-curses to setup wireless via the terminal GUI interface which i could only install once i updated the operating system.

little, totally functional, affordable. I began utilizing this with Ubuntu, but found that the picture was slightly off center on the Television. Add to that the truth I wanted to use Netflix and I found myself back to Windows XP. Not poor with XP although. Begins up excellent and is far more quiet than men and women in other evaluations let on. My wife and I use it day-to-day to watch past seasons of Dexter off Netflix. Streaming non-HD content is excellent with this factor, which is fantastic for a lot of the stuff we do. Here is the biggest 2 cons, which IMO is what individuals really should look at prior to buying this itemɅ. Wireless: it is every single bit as awful as other people have stated. There is genuinely nothing good that can be stated about it. My pc will maintain connected and all that, on the other hand the connection good quality is never above 50% no matter how close to the router. When steaming on the internet content this can develop into a problem. Be prepared, if you acquire this, to dump yet another ฤ-ฮ into a usb wireless card. two. The graphic processor. At initially this impressed me, specifically with non HD content. Nonetheless once I signed up for Netflix the jury was out. It streams and plays non-HD content incredibly properly. Appears to stutter and I get picture freeze when attempting to stream issues in HD. I know it is not my web, I think the awful wireless card is not helping the difficulty. For what I use this for it is fine. I have it hooked up to a 46 inch LED Television and use it mostly to stream Netflix movies and some other on-line content (Hulu, Revision3, youtube, etc.) I would purchase it, or one thing similar again. I wouldn't purchase something similar that expenses more, specifically given that probabilities are it will perform the identical. If one was going to invest additional dollars then they would be better off creating their own Media PC and spend most of the funds on a truly great graphics card for streaming HD. On the other hand given that I only wanted to invest in that 赨-趚 range for every little thing, nicely I got what I paid for. Like I said, for my uses it is fine, even so 1 day I could spring for something that does a much better job with HD content.

I bought this computer system for a company's conference room. The pc is able to use the projector by means of a 25 foot VGA cable (Item# N82E16882196009), and also a High Def 55" Plasma by means of a 50" HDMI Cable (Item# N82E16812816006). So far, the laptop or computer has worked wonderfully. Loaded up Windows 7 64-bit Pro from a Flash drive and the install was fast. The OS runs just fine, even immediately after all the update and software program installations.Videos play fine as properly, even the High def ones. It's not the most effective computer, but it get's the job completed.Wireless also works really nicely; I have tested both G and N routers and the link is solid. For some reason, and as mentioned in other reviews, you can not switch from VGA to HDMI proper away. I have to restart the laptop or computer and unplug the cable I do not want to use. For example, if I want to use HDMI, I have to make confident I unplug the VGA cable before powering on.This is only a CON for my application as other people might not require to use both. Wonderful budget PC for Children, an additional 'browsing' PC or any other application where not a lot of energy is necessary.
