First GPU/CUDA capable video card and initial Nvidia card. Been a ATI video card fan considering that my computing inception back in the 80's. Been a Seti@Home participant, now BOINC and produced my Nvidia decision primarily based on the sort of projects I wanted to participate in and what GPU apps they supported. Fairly uncomplicated choice to go with Nvidia, although ATI/AMD seems to be catching up with OpenCL. Card has run flawlessly both in Windows7 and Ubuntu ten.ten. Can't complain and my RAC scores have been phenomenal. Due to the fact the knowledge has been so good I have decided to add an additional Gigabyte GTX460 card to the system which is overclocked a bit additional than this card. Card is super quiet and hasn't gone more than 60 degrees C. with two operate units processing at the same time for 99% GPU utilization. Absolutely none. Dragged my heels for ten years with my old program and must have moved on to new hardware significantly sooner.

Power- This factor can manage something I throw at it except Crysis. That I can play on High which is sad how poor that game beats one card to death.Cost for a now middle range card its a decent value. Metro 2033 can't get 30 FPS on it's highest settings. but I can get 60 on high. I'm going to choose up a different one soon

The card runs excellent and is very quiet. It's in an HTPC and isn't loud at all. Remain's cool so far but we'll see what takes place this summer. This is my initial Gigabyte video card. I got it at the 赉 price tag (ฮ rebate) about mid-March. The card forced me to run my system stable; believed it was until I began employing the card and the technique would crash. When everything was setup appropriately (OC, memory timings, voltages), I haven't had any troubles. three hours at least stable on Prime but my fsp on Heaven was only 30.9 so much more tweaking needed. Card was bought for video editing mostly. Considering that it's in a quad core system the only time the card gets applied correct now is through HD video playback. The quad even handles HD encoding. Hopefully additional video edit software program will come along that requires far better benefit of CUDA but till then I'm nevertheless very pleased. Not a con seriously but the primary cause I went with this card over a more affordable 460 was since if there had been any troubles I believed Gigabyte would have to help their GPU on a single of their personal boards. I may have been able to save some funds going with the cheaper card but I paid a lot more for "compatability insurance coverage". Seeking forward to a couple of years of enjoyment if I can make myself leave this rig alone. It's challenging becoming a tech ho. Not a gamer but I'm thinking about trying a few considering that I've lastly got a card that can manage it. Bring it on baby!

Does what I need it to do on max settings. Fairly huge card, prolly could not fit a second in my situation for crossfire due to the configuration of my mobo/location of my PSU. Not the video card's fault though.

Worked straight out of the box. Good quality Components from metal chokes to solid capacitors. The Dual fan Style keeps the card cold ..soon after an hour of playing crisis 2 on high ..it in no way broke 40degree's C.Played Crisis two with all settings maxed flawlessly. Can play four to five windows of Everquest at high settings at when without frame loss. This version comes factory overclocked vs the normal version and its simple to notice. All the benchmark sites had critiques on the reference model and other models from other manufactorers but not the 2nd gtx 460 providing (this card) from Gigabyte ..and my experiance so far is that it outperforms all the other gtx 460's ive noticed reviewed on guru3d and so forth.Ive built 9 or ten gaming machines over the years and 1 thing ive learned thats nevertheless correct today. You can't go wrong with Gigabyte .any manufact corporation can send u one thing thats dead on arrival but just search feedback n discover the proper card -- None .. PROS continuedI often match a Gigabyte Motherboard with a Gigabyte 3d card , they constantly manage overclocking effectively n perform well together. Have machines that have been intense gaming comps for over 6 years in some circumstances nonetheless running strong with gigabyte mobo's paired with gigabyte geforces. I7 Core Intel 3.7 ghz processor300gig 10k rpm tricky drive8gigs 1336 Gskill Ram1000wat rosewil Power provideGigabyte Geforce 460 GTX 1gig 0c2 3d card.Ive read alot of reviews for the Geforce Gtx 460 with 768megs of ram and if ur looking for very good performance at a price range id reccomend that card as an alternative to this one particular. This one comes factory OC'd on the processor core and shader clocks with a actually nice dual fan cooling answer that operates wonderful and doesn't make a lot noise at all.for 180-190 bucks the capability to play pretty significantly any new game at 1600x1k resolution on high settings is actually great rather of paying 400-600 bucks for a card that will do the exact same thing at 2kǘk res that u could by no means even use(personally i use 1200x700 res typically) I tested crisis 2 at max res even so n nevertheless ran excellent.Totally suggest this card and the Gigabyte brand(especially motherboards ...some MODELS have longevity concerns but just do yer investigation and match compone

Dual fan styleWindows Knowledge Index 7.4 with 260.99Windows Experience Index 7.6 with 266.58, the highest score in my case, even greater than processor and memoryFans are quietVery good all around card-cool tempsSticking with Nvidia even though my board supports cross-fire There are no cons. A few other thoughts. My motherboard doen't overclock nicely. asrock 890fx deluxe 4 and phenom II x four 970black edition. I cant get it stable above 3.8 ghz. the processor really should be in a position to hit four.0ghz without having any dilemma. there is truly no will need to overclock with my setup anyway. i must have bought the 460 to begin with but my budget was tight when i built my personal computer last december. its all great. i put the gts 450 in my emachines desktop hooking it up with 2 molex to 6 pin and it runs just fine. this card is supposed to need a 400 watt energy provide and mine is 300-80plus. its certainly overkill for property theater but may as properly use it and get some use out of it. i wanted a gt240 with 1gb gddr5 for the emachines. pricewise, it's about the similar as a gts 450. the gt 440 has 2 fewer rop's than the gt 240. the gts 450 is most likely 1 of the ideal cost/performance values out there. Purchased this to replace a zotac gts 450. took out the 450 and put in this card and ran 3dmark11. score went from about 2200 with the gts 450 to 3400 for the gtx 460, utilizing the similar driver 260.99 and stock settings. updated the driver to 266.58 and windows now shows 7.6.. utilizing the evga precision tuner, i am in a position to get the clock speed up to 870, but at 880 i saw a lower score in 3dmark11. when i scrolled down, it showed the clock at 760, the default. i have no clue about this. able to set fan speeds from 40% to 100%. overclocked finest score in 3dmark11 was 3705.

Cons: uses more power than comparable AMD cards, not as extreme of an overclock as other cards (including other 460s from Nvidia), doesn't include a mini-NDMI adapter.

Pros: Good value, quiet fan, good cooler design, comes with dvi to vga adapter, has decent overclock out of the box
Comment:
Overall I'm very happy with this card. The cooler seems well designed and has two nice and quiet fans. While not a top end card anymore, for most users with modest screens this will be a great card and a great bang for the buck. I was using the integrated sandy bridge graphics, biding my time until a good card at a good value came out and I was insistent that it had good cooling and was quiet. I was therefore mainly looking at the MSI and ASUS cards but this Gigabyte card seemed to also have a great cooler and became my choice. Very happy with it overall.
