Cons: the stock cooler barely does its job at stock clock. recommend a decent after market cooler

Pros: very fast and easy over clock. not a power-hungry processor
Comment:
this cpu coupled with the coolmaster hyper 212+ cooler will definitely make your amd system rock. i upgraded from a 9850 be and i am more then pleased with results on my m3a32-MVP deluxe. on win 7 alone the performace ratings jumped from 6.9 to 7.4 for cpu performance.

Cons: -125w-heat-load stock fan

Pros: -quad core-black edition
Comment:
Bought this for a new build and is a total beast. I can push it up to 50% on all four core but there were times where it reached 100% while video editing. This chip runs quite hot on stock cooler. On idle, it was sitting at around 45 degrees while on load was in the high 50s. The stock cooler is also quite loud on idle. I would definitely recommend an aftermarket cooler if you plan to purchase this cpu.

Cons: Won't work in my planned new AM3 board but honestly, I don't really care.

Pros: Fast, works with DDR2 memory from my dead mother board.
Comment:
I run it overclocked at 3.3GHz using the Asus built in profile in the M4A78-EM board I picked up cheap locally when my M2N32-SLI Deluxe died. It's fast, snappy, only 0.1GHz away from a 965 at stock speed so I'm a happy camper... I also happened to get it on sale so it was a no brainer. I had intended to upgrade my M2N board but as I said, the board died while the CPU was in transit so I picked up the M4A78 as a quick/cheap replacement that would let me use my old ram (OCZ Platinum Rev.2). I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Cons: I'm not sure yet if it's my board or the cpu or me but overclocking is nonexistant as of yet - can't overclock at all as I get overclocking failure message in bios, tried different settings and no go. I'm upgrading my board shortly and will see if any difference. Note - I'm a long time tech but new to overclocking so might not be a weakness at all.

Pros: Very easy to install, runs pretty cool with stock cooler - stay's within 40 to 50 degree range under full load - not overclocked yet, got a fair deal.
Comment:
Runs fast just as it is, a real noticeable difference in scanning other computers while i'm doing my own thing. I'm fairly pleased with this purchase and the express shipping was great, ordered Friday and received Monday in Northern Ontario. NCIX is my new #1 place to shop.

Pros: Quad-CorePriceHandles anything you throw at it
Comment:
What can I say that hasn't already been said. For an AMD Quad-Core 940BE, this processor is fast, runs cool with aftermarket HSF, and will handle anything you throw at it. With it been a BE, easily overclocked to 3.4 - 3.6 with aftermarket HSF with no noticeable increase in temperatures and voltages, paired with a Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P motherboard.

OK, Intel got the powerfull cpu...but it cost alot of money.ONe thing I can't understand is why people are comparing 200 cpu against 300$+ intel cpu.Put a 200$ amd cpu vs a 200$ intel cpu, that would be better no?

Good CPU to buy and It worth all the money. The low price put AMD better than the QUAD CORE INTEL. Overclocking look great for the unlocked but need some better COOLING to help it out.

Cons: None at all. If it's not fast enough for you, you can always overclock it.

Pros: Really fast. Very reliable. The ability to overclock it is pretty nice.
Comment:
I love having this quad core. It's the best thing i ever spent money on. The speed is just incredible. The four cores makes doing multiple things so easy. I have never had my system bog down during a game when my AV was running or after the pc has been running for days on end. This cpu will take anything you throw at it and chew through it like nothing. Definately a great buy.

Cons: Runs hotPoor Memory controller for RAM overclocking

Pros: Good priceSolid performanceClocks like no tomorrow
Comment:
I bought this before the AM3 chips were released for around $260, I don't regret it at all. When I was running the stock cooler through the heatwave in the summer I was running into a lot of grief and the system was shutting down at the factory set 3.0GHZ. Since I've changed the cooler to a Xigmatek Dark Knight and have clocked it to 3.4GHZ (17X multiplier at 1.36 volts) on my Gigabyte MA790GP-DS4H motherboard it runs smooth and consistent.I had a lot of problems getting my 1066RAM to clock at 1066 as AMD has not put a lot into the memory controller. That aside, I am pleased with the performance for the price. This is not the latest and greatest chip on the market, but I look forward to years of performance before I need to upgrade.

Pros: Black EditionPowerfulEasy to OCGreat Bang for the BuckWorks with DDR2
Comment:
All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase. Its a huge improvement over my ancient P4, its lightning fast for a very decent price. Its super easy to Oc for a newb, got it to 3.7Ghz without too much effort(probably can achieve more). I was very hesitant between this one and the 955, chose this one for price reasons, but as DDR3 prices fall as well as the price of the 955, maybe I would do thing differently, but at the time it was really amazing and I am sure I would do it again. Its not an i7, but it has gret power!

It run great on my games, it offer more performance than my Q6600. It run hot but it's expected from a 125W CPU. The CPU is prone to faulty temperature sensor so be careful. Overall, I like it a lot.

Pros: Nice powerful quad coreBlack Edition processorCame with a cpu heat sink
Comment:
I got this in the mail yesterday and popped it into my computer. I havent tried to overclock it yet as I still have it burning in. The thing that really surprised me is that it is a black edition processor, but comes with a heat sink. I was under the impression that the black edition cpus didnt do this. It was a pleasant surprise. And its not like the normal wimpy amd heat sinks. This thing is huge and has heat pipes going through it. Would definitely buy again.

I got a Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer and I have this running 3.5ghz stable. For $220, this is a great value, a quad core 3ghz cpu, and espeically if you have no plan to upgrade in the near future again. Great bang for bucks value.loses a star cuz you can't really futureproof it for DDR3
