This is a wonderful processor. Got it for 140 bucks on sale, and bought a noctua nhu12p se2 as a combo deal. Clocked it to 4.2 Ghz at 1.45 volts, prime 95 got it to 54c (a small hot but haven't gotten it to complete load via anything i've completed). Practically nothing Its a amazing buy if you're searching for great bang for your buck.

This is a higher quality CPU for the value. I've got it OC ʄ.1 GHz instead of the base timing, and have only had to adjust voltages slightly. It runs smooth as ever; the temps never ever exceed about 30C when idle, and even below load I'm only at 41C (well under the handling temp for this processor). Couple it with an aftermarket cooler and you'll be fine!So far on Efficiency Mark it receives scores properly within the upper 10% of the ratings out there, even just before OC it.On Vantage it seriously pushes through the CPU tests, bringing fantastic values for the test, the OPU particularly. I haven't had any difficulties hence far. Simple install, effortless to OC, and it's been placing out and putting out. I've got it coupled with a 6870 from Xfx, and the pair can do some significant work. Every little thing I've provided it so far can maxed out, idefinitely. All in all, great CPU for the price tag. Treat it nicely, give it a decent cooler [not that the stock fan is horribly, it is just loud and doesn't dissipate as much heat] and some top quality thermal paste and you'll be in love with it like I am. I'd gladly obtain a second one particular if my mobo supported two processors.

Good Price. Great Processor. Operating overclocked to four.0Ghz on Asus board with 8G of Ram. No Problems, performs great Nothing at all about the Chip. The stock fan is loud and sucks. Now i want to try the six core chips! :)

Overclocked to 4.0GHz without needing to kick up the voltage and it is steady as can be! It wasn't free of charge! I could possibly go to 4.2 with voltage tweak and even higher if I installed a water cooler but I am content material with 4. (for now!)

Great processor for the money. I don't even want to overclock this and i am a quite heavy gamer. It is great and i propose this processor. There is only a single problem that i have discovered and i have also seen this complaint on some other reviews. The heat sink is really hard to get on. I believed i may well break the CPU, Motherboard, or heat sink. Don't get me incorrect, this is a fantastic processor. Just be careful when you go to put the heat sink on.Great Luck :)

Cons: This cpu is getting old, and does not work in the current line of AMD motherboards. If you want to invest in a good, newer motherboard, then this is not the CPU for you. This cpu is not as energy efficient as any comparable CPU's by intel, and so uses more power and creates more heat than other comparable CPUs.

Pros: Despite relatively old, this CPU is great for the price. It's still good enough to play modern games. It would be good for making a very inexpensive upgrade for AM3 capable motherboards. It's power usage isn't that bad with C3 stepping. It can be overclocked relatively easily.
Comment:
Good as an upgrade for those with AM3 motherboards who currently have much slower CPU's (like dual core cpus or much slower athlon II cpus).Still good enough to play modern games with a decent videocard.

Worked as advertised correct away. Using the stock heatsink in a regular HAF 922 case, I had it grinding away on prime numbers at 100% for a couple hours and it by no means went more than 53 degrees. I haven't overclocked it, don't feel the require to, and won't till it starts becoming obsolete. Stock heatsink was a pain to install, and for a when I was scared I could have ruined one thing, but every thing turned out okay. <Insert AMD fanboying here>

Cons: None really.

Pros: Fast, cheap.
Comment:
I've owned one or two of these myself, and used them in dozens of builds for customers. They have always been a value-based alternative to the faster Intel chips. They are great processors - I'd definitely suggest spending money on getting an SSD or upgraded video card before upgrading to a faster Intel chip.

This cpu does anything I need to have it to and more.....I can now run Rift on ultra with no troubles at all....I get about 75 fps and my gpu is a bit dated....Its a 5850 which isnt terrible but it still is kind of old. I am having an situation with the stock fan....For some cause the fan is usually running at 100%....I have to use speed fan to slow it down...

I upgraded from a older x2 250. Wow what a distinction, it takes on crysis with out a issue. Uncomplicated install with not difficulties, the heatsink even had TC preapplied. Ok so this was some thing i had not study about in other evaluations. HOT. The chip was running super hot 65c+ underload. (-1egg) But once i purchased a new heatsink, 120mm fan and reconfigured my airflow in the case all was great. 52c(MAX) underload now 鲤% tension test) But dont be surprised when you want to get out the box fan and remove the side panel for an emergency cool down. More than All This was a incredible acquire. The heat problems had been swiftly solved and the speed you get for gaming are just great. Battlefeild three here i come. P.S. AMD OEM heatsink 4 sale.. lol

The processor which is the size of two stacked quarters is uncomplicated to set up. The pig of a fan is fairly simple to install but needs cautious placement. Operating, quickly, and cool at 41 Celsius. Handling and shipping was quick. The instruction sheet is printed in fine print with an anemic ink and consequently challenging to study. Installation of the Linux OS is significantly substantially faster. Tech understanding demands defining. e.g. the 5. Higher level must have as a minimum a PHD in laptop science.

Four cores, in a position to more than clock, price. None so far! I got this for Christmas and I have intended to overclock it, but have not performed so but. But, under normal use, this point has been best. Runs cool and requires care of every thing thrown at it.

Quickly, runs fairly cool with stock cooler and a bit of aftermarket thermal compound. ࿀c browsing the internet) heatsink/fan seemed too tight. Not confident if it was the unit itself or the mobo, but It was all I could do to get it clasped on the CPU, did not want to risk crushing it by clamping it .
