Affordable, functions. Not quiet. My goal in buying a psu was to get reasonable good quality and QUIET. A fair number of other reviewers wrote that this 1 is quiet. I don't know what their common for quiet is but mine is that I want to have to put my ear next to the psu to detect if it's operating or not. New Egg ought to establish an objective regular for rating noise output for devices.

Nonetheless operating fine after 2 years.Came with a operating energy cord regardless of the "No Power Cord" in the item title. Molex connectors are tight on some of my drives. In my system's existing configuration this signifies I'm at threat of cutting my hand open on my video card's PCB. This PSU is at the moment installed in my old Computer, a Pc that can very best be described as "twitchy." While it didn't fix all stability problems replacing the system's original, and 4-5 year old, PSU with this one did yield a marked boost in stability. The old adage that you get what you pay for is absolutely accurate, but as lengthy as you don't intend to use this as a high-powered workhorse PSU it'll function well.

Lots of watts and a lot of connectors for such a modest cost. none Employing this on a cheap micro ATX mobo with a quad processor, two 7200RPM difficult drives and a PCI-E video card. No issues whatsoever. I wish the internal power cords had been modular.

2 Fans / Fairly Quiet, truly / Nice Price / 1 Year warranty None so far (ask again in a year to see how it held up) The specifications may well be wrong....I believe it lists only two sata connectors. -- The ones I received had 4 every Ɣsata and 4, four-pin standard) + 1 floppy drive. -- If that's not sufficient, then you in all probability really should be making use of a greater-end PS.

Great replacement for a fried five year old Raidmax PSU, plenty of power for older rigs and entry to mid-level newer equipment. Quiet enough to use in an HTPC develop, runs cool. Solidly built compared to other affordable PSU's. None, for me, at least. The power connections could be a small brief if you are utilizing a big case, and there are not a lot of them, but enough for me. This PSU is what it is, a low-cost PSU for budget builds or replacement of failed off-brand PSU's. It is not by any signifies meant to power a large-dog gaming rig, and if that is what you intend to use it for, expect to be be disappointed ... but don't knock this product simply because of any failure to realize it's limitations. When employed in an appropriate environment, this unit is an excellent value.

N/A N/A Simply writing in response to the evaluation that states this is a 350W PSU. This is not true.HEC's own web-site ( http://hecgroupusa.com/products/switching-power-supply/atx-12v/hp485d/ ) states that it is indeed a 485W PSU. Appear for the spec at the bottom of the page. The reviewer may possibly just have been mistaken.

it's 485w's, it was only 19 bones and works well in a microATX case. None Came plain Jain wrapped in bubble wrap, ok by me, I knew it had no energy cord. I've utilised Hec psu's b4, I specially like the 580w version(not the 585!). I would not use this certain power supply in a mid tower case PERIOD. The cable length is not produced for them, but works excellent in smaller circumstances like microATX situations that only use micro motherboards or smaller. It's working fine for now. I of course am not any where near its peak.Foxconn M61PMV AM2+ moboAmd 5600 2.6 cpuWD caviar blue 320gA dvd/Cd player/writerATI 5570Some 19 dollar rosewill microATX case with a dent on the leading2x1gigs of hynix ddr2 667 ram from an old dell mini board that went belly upWin7 pro 64bit

Quickly and efficient shipping by Newegg. And, outstanding RMA turnaround time - also by Newegg. No "Pros" for the energy supply. Short cables and strangely defective (see below). As with many shoppers that use Newegg, I've been developing PCs for a long time - almost 27 years. I never purchased an inexpensive PS before, but this time I did based upon the substantial number of very positive reviews on this unit. I wish I would have followed my intuition! The PC boots fine, but all kinds of strange behavior exists, such as intermittent mouse operation (both movement and clicks), and slow commence-up of the difficult drive. This PS was a replacement for a dead Antec 450W SmartPower PS in an old Intel P4 D845PEBT motherboard-based PC. I swapped out the hec HP485D with a recognized good PS, and all worked normally. When again (just to confirm), I installed the HP485D and exactly the identical symptoms. The RMA process with Newegg was flawless (as usual), but since it's going to cost pretty much half of the purchase cost to return it to Newegg, I'm not going to bother. I've never thrown out a brand new purchase before, but there's a initial time for every thing.

Straight OEM setup: affordable, no unnecessary packaging, unwrap, plug in, turn on. Quiet, no windups or bog-downs. None. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it does it with out any difficulties. The "noise" men and women refer to in the reviews is not what I expected at all. When people say "noise" I expect to hear my fan kicking on, an annoying hum, or a high pitched whir...this PSU is really quieter than any comparably priced PSU's I've utilized. The internal cables are a *tiny* bit short, but only for certain kinds of cases. I had no dilemma reaching all inlets.

Utilised quite a few of these in price saving Builds. I have not had 1 fail as of but. Connectors are a bit brief so if useing a midtower case with the PSU mounted on the bottom of the case it will not function for sure. I utilized them in mini tower situations with bottom mounting and all was fine. Ugly Grey and cables a bit brief I believe at the cost it works. If you need better get the OCZ 500watt Mod.

Good cost, two 12v rails and in spite of the specifications it had a 6-pin PCI-express connector. Key connector, as well as the four Pin P4 connector, are short. I utilized this power supply with this case (N82E16811146061) and because of the placement of the power supply at the bottom of the case I had to purchase extensions for the key and p4 connectors. When connected worked perfect

Fairly quiet, good price, a lot of lead length for a mid-tower case Could use an extra SATA connector Even though I've only been working with the HP485D for a couple of weeks, I'm really pleased with it. It's pretty quiet, but not the quietest that I've heard. For the price, it simply can't be beat! So far there have been no issues with it whatsoever. My requirements are fairly basic although. It's being utilised on an Asus M4A785-M motherboard with an Athlon II X 2 processor, 1 optical drive, two challenging drives, and no external video card. I calculated the requirements for my system and discovered that I would want little far more than a 250W power supply for what I have. This ought to leave a lot of room for expansion. An additional person posted that this is truly only a 350W power supply. Well, I went to the mfr. site. It is clearly listed as a 485W supply. Perhaps there was a typo on the website that has been corrected. And, 485 watts is probably a peak rating anyway.
