Had a hard time getting the auto back-up function working, but customer service at Iomega was awesome and things seem to be on-track now.

i bought this a couple days ago, and so far im pretty satisfied with it. i've heard complaints that its noisy, it isn't. i can only hear the drive when my ear is 3 inches away from it. you don't need any of the software to run it if you know anything about ip. the only downside is that you have hardly any control over the settings of the device. you can't do anything to a printer connected to it.

Transfer rates out of the box were sluggish and the OS was pretty basic, I suggest to anyone who buys this NAS to go to the website to grab the latest firmware revision. The newest revision has more features and better transfer rates. All in all a great drive/NAS for the money. I would recommend it to anyone for a home network. FYI, the USB component does not appear to work without the included software, also requires USB A to USB A cord. I'm not using it this way, so I haven't spent much time figuring it out.

i purchased this item to work with my ps3, and it has worked well right out of the box. wish there was a standby mode as i leave the unit on all the time

I'm satisfied with the product. It working well and easy to install it. I had some difficulties to configure one of my three network computers, the two others one witout difficulties. Very easy for them. There is no standby mode. The fan is always working and is a bit noisy.
