Rapidly - 10MB/s read for my 2GB UltraII SD card, pretty much maxes my cards. Many card formatspower + activity LED Powered off a couple of occasions but it may well have been related with some bios setting that induced DDR2 to be unreliable. Undoubtedly worth the money, and ATech technical support is responsive too.

superior card compatibility, inexpensive, uncomplicated to install The faceplate cutout for the microSD port is way too major. If you are not incredibly careful, you can push a microSD card into an opening above the intended slot. When this happens, you have to take the reader out of the personal computer and pop the faceplate off to retrieve the card.

Plug and play for Windows 7, card slots are clearly labeled, nice blue LED indicator light, devoted micro sd card slot needing no adapter. Triggered a doable driver conflict with a USB Tv Tuner I have. Overall, a nice media card reader that is simple to install, but triggered my USB Tv Tuner driver to turn out to be corrupted, could not get to operate even right after a clean OS reinstall. I rated this item five stars anyway because the Television Tuner I have is known to be buggy.

*Takes up 1 USB bridge on your Motherboard & supplies a hub of card readers along with a single USB 2. port in a three.five-inch bay at the front of your computer case. A incredibly good & effective design. For those factors nonetheless, make positive you have a spare USB bridge and 3.five-inch bay (most ATX motherboards & Mid-tower instances do, but be sure to perform a visual check and double-check your motherboard documentation as properly to be confident).*I use this reader practically exclusively for reading SD/SDHC, and MicroSD cards (which you can use in most mobile phones & digital cameras), as properly as for the USB two. port, and have had no concerns whatsoever in Windows 7 Pro (x64), everything is detected and in a position to be utilized with out a hitch!*Front bezel & set of connectors are aligned nicely, there's no mis-inserting cards with this unit (like you may locate with more affordable card readers)!*Labels for each and every type of card are clear & uncomplicated to read.*Absolutely worth the extra 8-ten bucks more than less costly models! None that I've run into so far! *I haven't tried benchmarking this reader, but it's USB two. compliant and transfers are good and fast, so I didn't really feel any will need to. *This reader does home a fairly low-key, blue power/activity light (which is generally on when Computer is powered on, and blinks for the duration of reads/writes).Personally, I like it. It's not overly bright and functions perfectly with the Blue lighting scheme of the rest of my machine - I believe in any scenario, this little LED is just straightforward & valuable, and isn't the slightest bit annoying!

It's a card reader that functions, plugs directly into motherboard so no cord hanging out the back of the case. None so far. The icon computer software is a little flaky. When I initial installed it it gave me a blue screen. On second attempt it worked fine. So far no issues. I like the truth that you can use microSD with out an adapter.

- Very easily installed- Support for all the memory cards I have (and more)- Good looks - Tested okay following install, but failed right after initially huge transfer from CompactFlash. Moving to new USB port on mobo didn't support. - Failed at 30 days; too late to RMA. AFT makes a kiosk version that's arguably far more reliable, but too ugly for my machine. They appear fine at Costco Photo's kiosks.

Straightforward install and functions fine. Have only tested the USB port and SDHC slot, but no issues. Did not download the drivers, just let Vista 64-bit locate the new removable drives. None, actually...blue LED stays on when in standby, but not actually that huge of a deal. Worthwhile add-on for my rig!

All thanks to the egg for this fantastic card reader! Works like a charm each single time. I use it for my SDHC and microSDHC cards perfectly and without having mercy. None Not a con necessarily, but the readers drive icons do constantly appear in 'My Computer system' without vacancy. But then once again, it doesn't affect something at all.

Bought this to replace a failed card reader on my key program. Picked it based on the critiques and reasonable pricing.Actually content with it. Has a great, solid construct good quality that shows up in the little details, like a stowaway tray behind it to tuck in any additional cable length (I'm finicky about cable management in my systems). Also has a really deep slot for CF cards. My wife has a actually good Rebel that uses CF cards, and most readers have a shallow slot that's a little wobbly - which makes it eases to miss-seat the card and crush a couple of connector pins. This reader has a deep CF slot that's definitely positive, generating seating CF cards a breeze. No worries about crushing pins.Quickly response rate and data transfer rate. Haven't benchmarked, but it "feels" a lot more rapidly than other cheapo card readers I've applied ahead of.Plugged it in, powered on the technique, XP 64bit recognized it and dealt with it without having needing to download drivers. It just worked. Didn't go on sale until a couple of months soon after I purchased it. I'll partially rectify that by ordering a couple far more whilst their on sale to replace less expensive, flakier readers I have in other systems. Happy with it soon after 3 months of steady use, no muss, no fuss.

The item did what it's created for, with no hassles. Having two faceplates is a nice touch, as properly. None If you read a sampling of assessment for all the USB Card Readers, it is clear they can be extremely variable in high quality. I've applied Atech goods a few times, and have been satisfied. Most of these devices are fairly affordable, so it helps to preserve your expectations reasonable.

It fit, and it's black. Testing reveals a transfer speed of 4mb/sec max. any media. Updating the driver doesn't aid, flashing doesn't help, and Atech consumer assistance is non existent. A Kingston external unit pulls down 35mb/sec burst and settles in for 26mb/sec. I bet there are lots of folks who own this unit limping along, ignorant of this flaw.

Accepts all of the cards I use without having a hassle - XD for my camera, MicroSD for my mp3 player and CF card. Doesn't have blindingly bright lights. It doesn't have the push-in eject mechanism so all of the cards extrude a bit. If you have a CF card in and you're attempting to pull out the MicroSD or XD card, you'll need to have to pull out the CF initially then the other.

Exceptional card reader, though I only genuinely wanted it for microSD. As mentioned, it's fairly effortless to slide some cards in wrong... but that's not actually that massive of a deal. It would be excellent if the drives wouldn't show up unless they had a card loaded in them, but it's not definitely a dilemma.

Isn't riddled with too a lot of extension ports (only one USB2). Has blue LED light to match my color scheme. Fits perfectly into my Antec 300 Illusion with optional Antec five.25" to three.five" adapter kit. Has a permanent drive letter for each physical slot. Some motherboards will always supply energy to onboard USB headers even right after shutdown causing this reader's energy indicator to remain ON. Some other media card readers could be had for drastically much less, but I was willing to pay a little extra for the blue LED and clean face with out a host of extra ports that I probably would never use. Plus, I've owned an AFT branded media card reader for many years and trust the reliability of AFT.

Reads practically every flash memory format (including SDHC and xD), quite easy to install (no computer software required), no problems with cards therefore far. Consists of two bezels (black and silver) as well. None. Have utilized other card readers that don't support nearly as a lot of formats (xD is tough to uncover on lower tier card readers) and also have issues swapping cards. This one has had no issues and I would recommend going with it even though it's a small above some of the others in terms of cost - it's worth it.

Installation was straightforward. I purchased two of them. Both Windows XP and Vista found and installed drivers automatically. I haven't done any benchmarking, but it feels fast, at least for my SD cards. I only buy fast cards, but my old USB card reader seemed to take forever to copy 4 GB of pictures and movies. None I wish the cards seated inside a little additional. My case has a door more than the external drive bays. I can't close it with a card installed. Not actually an problem with the card reader, just a feature request.

Worked nicely for virtually a year until I busted it. Tried to use micro and regular SD slots at the very same time to copy from one to the other; killed the drive. Only use one port at a time! The microSD slot ate my card and I had to open it up to get it back. Both the micro and regular SD slots aren't snug so you have to really feel your way.

Really Sturdy Construction, all the slots & USB port have a wonderful really feel to them. I really like the fact I can copy between slots (it reads & writes to the cards), I like getting the microSD slot, so no adapter... I moved two Gig from a SDHC for a CF card quickly & swiftly. I extremely suggest this reader to anybody who wants a sturdy unit. Incredibly High excellent. I chucked my Rosewill junker, sorry Newegg. I dunno, I'm sort of bummed about having to pay the $$$, but as they say, "you pay your dollars & you get what you pay for", if cost is the only consideration you have and you aren't worried about longevity or high quality appear elsewhere...and once again apologies to Newegg, my old Rosewill was really stinking up my PC. I'm really happy I spent the added Ű-ű incl shipping. I have a Gigabyte GA-H55-USB motherboard that has a USB Charge when PC is powered off feature. This reader's blue energy light stays lit. (I don't know if every single reader will do this) The light isn't bright, for me, its not a dilemma I have an Antec P182 case with a front door that covers the reader when not in use. I also confirmed that the "Charge When Off" function on my GA-H55-USB (ver2) does indeed function, I pulled my iPod into the front USB port on the reader whilst my PC was off & it charged up. Oh yeah, the USB header that plugs into the motherboard is the "double wide one", so it take s full header port on my MB (which has 4)

Looks good. Easy install. Vista 32 bit recognized it. Showed every single of the 5 ports as a separate drive Doesn't work! Don't waist your dollars. Tried to get it to read SD card, micro SD card and a compact flash card. All of which are in working order. This reader would not recognize that anything was in it. USB port works. Wuu massive deal I have 12 USB ports I needed the reader. Shoulda bought the rosewell. I'm contiplating an RMA but don't want to pay the shipping and get an additional dud. I Really should HAVE PAYED A lot more ATTENTION TO ALL THE Poor Critiques. I might just contact AFT directly
