Purchased with cutting down acoustical noise in thoughts. Silent (obviously). Cools my card much better than the stock fan/heat sink. Guidelines did not match up with my product. RAM and voltage regulator heat sinks don't stick at all, so I had to get some Arctic Silver adhesive to make sure they all don't fall out. In a single of the steps in the instructions they tell you to insert this plastic support factor for the heat sink, but it does not fit at all. I haven't been using it and it appears to be functioning fine. I utilised Arctic Silver thermal paste on the GPU in addition to the stuff already spread onto the heat sink.

ZERO noise:Old temps: 63c idle, up to 93c full load NEW temps: 43c idle, 54c complete loadtall style allows additional air-flow from other cards a bit difficult to make certain you got every little thing lined up with spacers ect when mounting if you are new to this sort of issue. I put this on an overclocked radeon 4850 DDR5 that ran Very hot for this model type. I study numerous testimonials and lastly decided on this. Finest cooler you will discover and adding a fan Anywhere close to it helps tremendously. Get THIS!!!

Remarkable!! Turned my 4 crossfired screaming HIS 4870 ICE Q+ into a whisper really powerhouse. Temps never rose above 60c below full burn-in stress test making use of FurMark for an entire hour. Cards all idle about 30c compared to 50c with stock cooler. Straightforward to install, had almost everything prepared to go in about ½ an hour. None Utilized eraser and Arcticlean to clean ram and voltage regulators and the supplied heat sinks stuck to them just fine.

effortless installation of the main cooler itself. plastic clips lock it solidly in spot. hard to route the crossfire connectors via it. I knew this, so no huge deal. The other con? The memory heat sinks. I had wrote this off initially as poor setup\cleaning on the aspect of the installers. Nope. Very carefully cleaned and mounted the heat sinks, only to ultimately have them fall off more than a very short time, ruining 1 of my 3870 video cards outright, the other no longer displays something but black and white out the s-video port. Major cooler is Wonderful, chip coolers suck, I wish I'd have gone with my original instinct and purchased my personal thermal adhesive and chip coolers. I'm not as disappointed as I might be, the 3870s current heat sinks have been headed for failure anyway, 1 was obtaining trouble spinning up the existing fan. Getting this was an try to extend their life on my backup rig for inexpensive. As it is I replaced the 3870s in crossfire with a single 4650. Subsequent time I spot an order I'm going to get some memory heat sinks and adhesive and mount the primary cooler on that so its not a total loss. I get kinda zen about this stuff. As lengthy as I'm employed, part failure is an excuse to upgrade.

This cooler is incredibly efficient. It does a great job cooling a Sapphire 4830 at default speed with no a fan (idle 38C, load 55-60C, ambient temp ㅎC). The temperature will spike extremely quickly under load, but never beyond 60C in a well ventilated case.I was incredibly skeptical about any passively cooling options, but I also wanted a quiet method (the sapphire 4830 80mm fan tends to make an annoying grinding sound). Following reading some reviews, I decided to give this cooler a try, and it worked beyond my expectations. I didn't discover any difficulties with the memory heat sinks, in truth I'd rather have them loose so that I can pull them off if I wanted to. Nonetheless, the 3M adhesive tape is weak, and u'll will need to clean the memory chips (remove all dust and grease) and gently massage them into place (gently push and twist on the ram sinks).a roomy and ventilated case is very significant for this cooler ƒ-10C greater temps if there's low airflow). In other words, it is incredibly sensitive to ambient temperature and airflow.Installing the cooler is a lot harder than it appears. It took me three tries to make the cooler's copper base sit appropriately. Once you've assembled the cooler, I would suggest disassembling it once more just to make positive that the heat sink's base is touching the whole chip and not tilted to one side (you could tell that it's appropriately assembled if the thermal compound is evenly spread across the chip's die). This cooler's build high quality reflects its cost: very crude. Chances are one of the heat pipe is going to hit a ram sink (happens incredibly typically with ATI cards). If so, you need to unscrew the base plate bracket, and shift the base down to the alternate position (refer to the manual). Don't let the heat pipes touch the heat sinks, else the cooper base would be sloped to a single side and u may possibly crack the edge of ur graphics chip when ur tightening the base plate.Remember to comply with the instructions cautiously and tighten the screws gradually. If the cooler isn't functioning nicely, remove the whole heat sink and check if the chip is in full get in touch with with the base.

purchased it for an 8800GT. Comes with enough ram heatsinks Ƙ) for it. and 3 other ones. setup wasn't incredibly complex, the directions had been easy to follow. immediately after i very first installed it, it seemed it was performing its job. It wasn't much of an improvement more than the stock fan, but it was nice to not have the fan at one hundred% I followed the instructions such as making use of a pencil eraser on the VRAM and nevertheless some of the heatsinks wont stay on, and it appears that the other individuals would fall of eventually. Soon after about a day or so, the temps have been getting into the 90's so i checked it out, and confident sufficient, three of the ram heatsinks fell off overnight. I'm not very sure the gpu plate was in full contact with the gpu, simply because when i removed it, it didn't look like the thermal paste had spread all the way more than the gpu. I've place the stock fan back on, and im throwing this out i guess. it's a fantastic issue this wasnt also pricey, mainly because i would be much more ticked off.

Put this on a XFX NVidia GeForce 8800GS when the fan was going. The Avg. temp on the old OEM fan was GPU: 61C, PCB 42C. Without the Arctic Cooling Module Sleeve the card went to GPU: 52C (lot reduce), PCB 42C (same). With the fan it dropped to GPU: 49C (lower), PCB 40.5 (lower). This is actually fantastic. Lost an egg due to the design/size/height of the thing. I believe Arctic Cooling could've made a shorter design devoid of utilizing also considerably of the functionality if they actually wanted to. Not really a negative to these with a enormous case, but bad for men and women like me I can't put the lid back on (guess that keeps points cool also but I have kids that will throw things into the case). Word of caution: be sure to measure the space in your case prior to you buy this GPU unit to make sure it fits and recognize this cooler sits greater than any stock GPU cooling fan I've seen. If you’re going to do it correctly, the install of this thing must take about an hour or so. That involves all the time for removing the card, removing the sticky tape to the heat sinks (as nicely as the sticky residue with ArctiClean), removing the stock GPU grease from the GPU and the Accelero S1 (with ArctiClean). Ultimately, as suggested by others applying Arctic thermal adhesive for the heat sinks (not the GPU cooler or GPU), and then working with Arctic Silver five for the GPU unit. That was where the majority of time was spent. Just keep in mind that Arctic thermal adhesive will cement up and therefore make it impossible to eliminate the heat sinks it's applied to - so be positive you really want to commit to this cooler unit very first. If you don't use the thermal adhesive the heat sinks will fall off. You don't want to use the thermal adhesive on the GPU cooler or CPU cooler since there may be occasions you want to take away them (thus why they make Arctic Silver five).

It supposedly would've lowered my temperatures. Read glorious testimonials about it. Lightweight? Did not operate on my 4890! I attempted putting in it, and it ran for about 5 minutes, the temps were about 20C over the 40C that it was operating with the stock cooler. I am appaled at how poorly the instructions had been, some of the memory heatsinks fell off in the pc! I had to bend some heatsinks for it to go in! Do not obtain this cooler, stick with stock for the sake of your investment on a video card, and the price of losing it. Also, you most likely must not obtain ATI cards at all, their consumer support was horrible and would not support me at all because of the aftermarket cooler. It was a great understanding practical experience. Will by no means get ANY aftermarket coolers, unless they come preinstalled on the stock card. Take my assistance, please do not destroy your technique. It is not even necessary. Fortunately, I installed the old stock 4890 heatsink and fan it for some purpose, I prayed to the larger power, and He answered me.

Uncomplicated to install and keeps temps within a reasonable range. Silent! I identified this cooler to be an superb replacement for a loud/dying fan on my GeForce 9800gt. I didn't take note of my temps ahead of, but I am running 57c low and 100c below extreme load (FurMark running at 1024 x 768 = 2650 score). Crysis hits mid 70's for a realistic mark. The radiator is wide, but no longer than the card and it only takes up two bays, so no mods needed. Observe the instructions for putting in the extra heatsinks on the ram. This is obviously stated in the directions and worked completely. Instructions could be updated. There was no indication I required to use the supplied spacers for the heatsink to sit properly with the card. Some quite minor bending of the copper was in order to get the mounting plate to sit effectively. I was seeking for a quiet option and found it at a reasonable price tag. I fundamentally disassembled the card down to the board which assisted with the install. If you want to drop the temps, pick up the fan kit.

Effectively created, powerful cooling, very good price tag. I use other Arctic Cooling items (cpu) and have had great experiences with them as well. It dropped the temps on my 8800 GTX from 60C to 41C. None The ram heat sinks didn't stick that nicely, and I attempted the erasure tip to little avail. I ended up utilizing epoxy with thermal resistance to affix them.

I was a bit concerned about it's construction, offered it's size. Nonetheless, after it's final install, the performance enhance this gave my 9800GT was just beyond all expectations! I have it mounted on an EVGA 9800GT 512Mb card, and I was in a position to crank my EVGA Precision program way beyond the stock cooler's overall performance. Stock cooler would only get me 670core񳉢shader񳀨mem @ 62c load. The AC Accelero got me all the way up to 740c񳋸shader񳂢mem and I got practically 3500+ pts on 3dmark06 over stock settings! Like the performance, even so the chipset heatsinks were a bit narrow on the bottom and the thermal tape didn't want to hold unless I applied a heatgun to assistance afix them to the power FETs. However, I know that this is a "universal" kit, so I shouldn't gripe about how it's not "suited" proper for my 9800gt. I'm nonetheless content. ;o) I would most likely recommend main HSF suppliers to commence like a greater-grade thermal compound. I stand behind Arctic Silver products, and (if applied properly) know it would make all the distinction in the world at improving performance of stock or OC'd chipsets.

Does a good job cooling my 9800GTX+. Deff requires a fan with this card, but that's mfg spec, so you can't complain. I strapped a three speed 120mm Antec fan to it and on medium that's plenty to maintain my temps waaaayyyyyy beneath stock cooler. Even makes my northbridge a couple of C cooler. Even following the directions on cleaning the oily stuff from the stock cooler from the voltage regs and memory with an eraser; I had some problems obtaining a couple of the VRM coolers to stick. It's nearly like a couple of my VRMs had been smooth instead of textured, and no quantity of cleaning seemed to support. To get the two VRM coolers to stick I flipped the Video card upside down with a book on it to hold them in place for a couple of hours, which seems to have completed the trick. Also, while my typical thickness 120mm fan does the job for me, if you're going to SLI, you'll need anything thinner; I've looked at the Scythe SY1212SL12SL, which if you put two on the cooler (yeah, it's that big) would give the exact same CFM I have proper now at about the same DB level.

Make confident you can fit them. I had some trouble acquiring my eight pin cpu cable over the fins to its slot but I managed. I installed a 120mm fan. just drop some screws amongst the fins and use a nut to screw the fan into spot.BTW: For these getting problems with the stickiness, READ THE DIRECTIONS!! You have to use the eraser system to get rid of the oily residue left from the stock cooler.

Substantial, nicely constructed heatsink. Heat was pretty evenly distributed across the surface of the heatsink really quickly. Fits on card fantastic. I have this card: SAPPHIRE 100242L Radeon HD 4850. Purchased it because of overheating complications connected to StarCraft II. *My video card overheated within five minutes of StarCraft II. Anything is installed effectively. I aimed an extra processor fan at it and it keeps my card at idle temp ࿉ c) even under heavy loads.*Not adequate mini-heatsinks for ram and voltage regulators. I was 2-3 short and had to dremel-cut the voltage regulator heatsink off my old card and reinstall. Fortunately it fit beneath this heatsink with no challenge. It's a wonderful heatsink. It is not a very good passive cooling program.

Nothin better the ram heat syncs are a joke quite negative idea they will fall off and Brief OUT YOUR CARD! if you have to use them, use "SILICONE ADHESIVE" it will take about two hours for it to dry before you can use your card! I have had this on my 3870, then a 4870, and now my 4890, I under no circumstances used the RAM HEAT SYNCS, just the Enormous RADIATOR! I droped two 120 mm fans on it, applied WIRE ties from Garbage bag to preserve them from moving I allso purchased a 3$ Volume controll from LADIOSHACK and wired it to the "RED" wire to both the fans so I can controll the speed! I preserve it on the lowest speed ,I can only hear my HARDDRIVES! evne when playing games my 4890 under no circumstances goes above 120 degrees! if I turn up the fan speed they never go above 102 but I can hear the fans If I listen closely! this is a excellent envestment!oh yes I by no means use a cover on my pc, I use no Situation FAN,s YOU Can\'t HEAT AN OVEN WITH THE DOOR OPEN! assume about it! Pre-applied silver oxide compound is very successful like other Artic compounds. Temps on my dual 8800GT install dropped from a noisy 65-70 degress to a steady silent 45 degrees and in SLI mode. Value vs efficiency is fantastic. The clips for retaining the cooling fins to the card seem to have been updated but the instruction sheet was not updated to show how the new clips get mounted. Others have complained about the ram heatsinks not sticking. The instruction sheet clearly says that you have to use an eraser head to prepare the surface of the vram chips or the heatsinks wont stick. Following this advise I had no dilemma and the heatsink stuck effectively. I located cleaning the eraser among prep of each and every chip also helped. I cleaned it by dragging it across a piece of scrap carpet.
