Sort of east to install on a evga 9800gt.Quite fantastic cooling *see other thoughts*Replaced stock heatsink on evga 9800gt when the fan died. The adhesive on the memory heat sinks does not work all that nicely. I at some point had to hold them in spot for 2 min then wait a couple of hours letting gravity help immediately after that ahead of installing the card, and even then they nonetheless didnt keep on. According to the evaluations this cools very properly, and I agree. I had a added pci slot cooler sitting about and decided to see if that does anything, and it did. Evga 9800 gt overclocked (with evga precision) at 740 core clock, 1850 shader clock, and 1020 memory clock, running boinc cuda (thoroughly finest pressure test I know) doesn't go previous 130F. The only downside to this setup is it uses 3 total slots on your motherboard. Luckily I only have it, and a different 9800gt on the motherboard, which efficiently utilizes every slot ƒnd 9800gt being dual slot as properly). Not gonna brag about what I have like what most other reviewers, but I will incorporate what is pertinent. I have a antec 300. I have the side panel 120mm fan blowing air from outside onto the video card, and the pci slot cooler taking heat off the heatsink and blowing it out of the case.

This is one particular of the very best aftermarket heatsink you can obtain for under ำ. Passive cooling is impractical for most graphics cards.Sapphire 4830 512MAmbient temp: 20C Antec 300 case w/ 2 program fanStock Cooler: GPU: idle 33 load 48 (loud fan!) VRAM: idle 38 load 66Accelero S1 Passive: GPU: idle 38 load 55 VRAM: idle 40 load 80 (Overheats @ 82C)Accelero S1 w/ 120mm fan 򜟨rpm GPU: idle 33 load 43 (fan inaudible 40cm away) VRAM: idle 35 load 62 The installation is really tricky. Ram sinks are extremely significant, you should apply them for passive cooling. I applied this heatsink to my sapphire 4830 512M graphics card and have no problems with my GPU temps below passive cooling mode. Nevertheless, i noticed that the graphics memory are finding very HOT (Over 80C) beneath load. A 2 hour gaming would result in my gfx card to stutter or freeze. Sooner or later, I have to strap a 120mm fan (򜟨rpm) to preserve the video memory cool. Passive cooling only operates for energy effective graphics cards such as the GTX240 or 4670. Most contemporary cards require active cooling for the VRM and VRAM. I don't recommend using this cooler for the most up-to-date nVidia cards: there are no VRM heatsinks included.

Simple install, outstanding soon after-industry cooling answer. My stock EVGA 8800GT was operating in excess of 65C below load. Following installing this cooler, and with the help of a simple desk fan, my card does not exceed 45C under load. This cooler is big. Make certain you verify the pictures, and do some looking outside of NewEgg, to get an concept just how huge this is inside a situation. It's about two inches wider than my card and adds about an inch to the vertical clearance, rendering 1 of my PCIE slots useless (its a PCIEx4 thought so no loss). If you have the space in the situation I highly recommend this to solve any overheating troubles with your graphics card.

Exceptional piece of gear works superior than anticipated. I'm utilizing with an HD4670 that had the loudest fan on the planet and nevertheless idled at about 40 degrees C. Now I'm appropriate on 27 degrees C and silent! Installation is very uncomplicated if you have the room for it in the situation...(see "Cons") Also looks like a futuristic work of art! With my motherboard I can\'t get rid of 2 of my SATA cables devoid of removing my graphics card since of this, but then once more I shouldn't ever want to unless I get a new MOBO or situation. I also had to get rid of the ACCELLERO S1 badge on the front of it and slightly modify one particular of my side case fans to get my situation back together the moment installed. General seems like a solid product. As mentioned in other critiques, the heat sink is Large. It's so major, in truth, that it will not fit in the full-size case of an MPC ClientPro 385 or Client 375. The Accelero overlaps the CPU heat sink assembly by an area about 3" lengthy and 1ǘ" high. This might be just a single additional reason why MPC went out of small business. :-P I gave 5 stars due to the fact I have no doubt that the Accelero would have performed the job, if it had fit, and due to the fact NewEgg took it back devoid of any hassle. They also took back the (unopened) vial of Arctic Silver thermal compound I bought.

- Relatively Straightforward to Set up.- Silent. (I also have 4 noctua NF-P12, so you can't hear the computer system at all) - Doesn't fit into my Antec 900 situation with side fan or my motherboard as is simply because of the Sata plug. Necessary to remove the Plastic Ends and now it fits perfectly.- Thermal Paste is okay, Used Arctic Silver 5 instead General I actually like the cooler. I literally installed this handful of minutes ago so I do not know how nicely the cooling actually is, but my key concern was the noise as it was seriously loud with the stock 8800gt fan. With my four my noctua fans and my antec 900 case I am not too concerned with the air flow. I would extremely suggest it.

This factor is wonderful on my HD4650 (it's not on the compatibility list, but another reviewer mentioned employing it on his HD4670, so I believed I'd give it a shot). It's a Powercolor, and the stock heatsink and fan were horrible. The stock fan is far also loud, and the stock heatsink transfers heat poorly.Idle/Max Load (FurMark for a couple hours) tempᛓኟC Stock fan and heatsink34ኈC This cooler with Arctic Silver five thermal compound It's tricky to install, and like other reviewers, I checked with the included spacers....the pad doesn't touch the GPU at all with the spacers installed, so I installed with no them (and I could've employed the spacers for the stock heatsink). I was cautious to not overtighten the screws, although. The directions also are not the ideal, but I was in a position to figure it out. Also, it's huge (of course), and it blocks a single of my SATA connectors to the mobo...it's a MicroATX board, though, and it only has 1 PCI-e slot, so it wasn't developed for something as enormous as this in the adjacent slot. I didn't use the included thermal paste, as I mashed it around test fitting, so I utilised Arctic Silver 5 rather (after cleaning with acetone and alcohol). Also, the memory and voltage regulators Must be rubbed with an eraser, or the heatsinks for those won't stick. I didn't have a dilemma with them falling off, but other reviewers did.One more factor to think about is that the temperature of my GPU is heavily dependent on the case fan speed, since the airflow from the slot comes solely from the low pressure in the case made by the exhaust fans (the case fan and the power provide fan). I was in a position to achieve a lower load temp by possessing the case fan improve from 900 to 1700 rpm for only a five degree C enhance in case temperature, thus drawing considerably much more air over the cooler's fins. The leaks in my case are also nicely sealed, so the only two places for incoming air is the front grill and the rear slot for this cooler (it was well sealed when testing the stock cooler, as well).

-Low temperatures with a fan attached on each idle and Load-Most fans you put on this factor will in all probability be quieter than stock fans at 100% -Installation If the temperature is still extremely high (with a fan) then something most likely isn't installed appropriately. When I first took this cooler off due to the fact of high temps, most of the thermal paste was nevertheless smooth which meant that the GPU didn't truly come into complete make contact with with the cooler so I did some additional stuff.Right here's some guidelines:-Rubbing alcohol on the tape beneath the RAM/VRM sinks. It kind of activates the tape far more.-Having a GTS250, I hade to bend the lowest right ramsink a bit to fit the cooler. So, don't be afraid to bend stuff.-If you have a square bracket from another video card, use it. You screw in these factors on the back of the card which helps push the GPU forward for superior get in touch with. I had one from my old HD4850.-Lastly, screw the screws in tightly. On my final re-installation of this factor, I turned the screws in until they didn't turn anymore. Temps now? Outside temp isn't too hot or as well cold. GPU temps, idle is low 30s, load is high 40s.

Installed on a 4850 512mb that had a stock heatsink that was starting to malfunction. Installed with a Scyth 120mm fan attached with zipties. Had been receiving ㅯ렀 just before installing, now I'm obtaining 26ች, not even kidding, i almost cried.Dunno what temps would be like with out the fan, but they'd have to be better than stock to get the sort of temps I'm findingThe instructions aren't almost as negative as persons make them out to be, it's seriously not that difficult, and with a tiny bit of believed you can figure out what's required As absolutely everyone says, the ram heatsinks are weak, i got them to stick with a handful of minutes of holding them in spot, however, i couldn't get the voltage regulator sinks to sit, i also had a little difficulty with the voltage sinks because there were transistors that got in the way of letting them all fit. Also, as previously expressed, the bottom ram heatsink gets in the way of the heatpipes on the 4850, bent the fins a little and offset it a touch, not a huge task, and it solved the difficulty just fine.My setup is significant, not a enormous issue, but I had to take out the fan on my side vent bring about I couldn't get the door back on, the fan, sink and card also take up 3 slots and would block the x-fire bridge if I had a single. Incredible overall performance with a 120mm fan on a 4870 wasn't totally free? Dropped the temps on my XFX 4870 (which has horrible stock cooling) from 110°C at load (with max stock fan) to 50°C load! My card was causing BSOD's and lockups beyond belief. I was chasing this gremlin in this new process for weeks and then I finally found that a leafblower on the GPU kept it cool and running. So I picked up this bad boy and slapped it in with a 120mm fan strapped to it and the temps plummeted. READ THE Directions. Some people had been complaining that the RAM sinks do not stick... the directions clearly state that you Should use a pencil eraser on them 1st to clean them. My RAM sinks stick on fine.

This cooler is excellent at cooling even with no fans installed. Following installing the optional Turbo Module I am receiving only a 54C high temp even through game play. This unit is huge so you want two slots on the MB for the install. This installed incredibly effortlessly on my 8800 GT. Just about every gamer knows how loud a higher end video card is and this cooler with the Turbo Module fans is really quiet. Prior to this install I was receiving temps as high as 80C with the stock cooler through game play but now am finding highs of 54C and an idle temp of 36C.

I am making use of two of these with an SLI bridge in a HAF 932 Tower. My gpu's are 9600 GT's and they embarressingly loud with the stock fan. I kinda figured that if the stock fan has to be that loud then it ought to require some fairly potent cooling. Point is, this low-cost fanless heatsink essentially does a much better job. Granted I am making use of a high air flow case so there is air blowing on the heat sinks. This is the very best thing I have done for my setup in a while :) If you are worried about this fitting your GPU - don't be concerned - it like it'll fit just about something. The dilemma with these things is of course the SLI or crossfire bridge. If you have the flexible additional lengthy ribbon kind bridge then you may well be ok but most most likely you will have to put it by way of the heatsink. This can be performed by either bending the metal plates and forcing the connector by way of (and then attempting to bend them back to make em appear pretty) or by cutting a little gap for bridge to fit. Other evaluations have complained that the little heatsinks that it comes with do not stay on quite well. I followed the directions, applied the pencil eraser and did not have any difficulty. In reality I'd say that the tiny heatsinks are on really securely. Not sure why this would be a challenge for any person anyway. The cards will likely be horizontal in your computer, so why not just put the heatsinks on the side of the card that faces up? That way they just sit there with no gravity tugging at them.

Operates excellent on my 9800GT without the extra fans. Fits good in my mid tower case. My case is once again silent. The stock fan was way to noisy for me. Takes up two slots but I expected that. (I did not overclock my GPU so I didn't use the optional fans) The adhesive on the 8 included heatsinks didn't stick. Fell off right after five - 10 min. I even prepared the surface with a pencil eraser and then rubbing alcohol. The directions had been incredibly hard to read and completely realize. Practically will need a magnifying glass to read the tiny print and the directions were in four diverse languages. For the price tag of this item couldn't they consist of a four or 6 page instruction booklet as an alternative of a folded up piece of paper (in four diverse languages) that was hard to totally realize to begin with. A lot more detailed instruction information would have been true useful. It took me over 2 hours to get it "RIGHT" before I applied the Artic 5 Thermal Compound to the GPU. I DO NOT Advise THIS FOR BEGINNERS. I utilized Artic Silver ASTA-7G Premium Thermal Adhesive to hold the heatsinks on. My Asus MB does not have two ƒ. x 16) slots for SLI so I can not comment on the space it would require. Beefy. Could be a pro or a con. But in my case, it's a pro, mainly because I've got two major 230mm fans on the leading of my ATCS 840 case that grab the air just suitable. Keeps my ASUS HD 4830 at 40C idle and 50C Full LOAD, with out any additional fans! Passive cooling at its finest! Really like the silence. I'm not positive I'll ever get rid of the card regardless of the fact that it's by far the weakest component in my rig, I enjoy the S1 so significantly. Ugly, and the MOSFET and VRM heatsinks are just terrible. You will certainly want to apply gentle but even pressure to each one particular individually and let it sit at least 15 minutes just before installing. Gravity alone will make them fall if you don't, and heat tends to make the 3M softer and much less sticky. In spite of the substantially smaller price tag tag, with an equivalent fan, this factor is far better than the Thermalright HR-03 and T-rad, which are widely thought to be the best in air-cooling.

Great cooler. Excellent outcomes. Decreased the idle temperature on my HIS Radeon 4670 from 60 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees C. Game playing temperature dropped from a Pc shutting 110 degrees C to 47 degrees C, even at the highest resolution. The directions left a little to be desired. Had to improvise and eliminate using the clear plastic spacers due to the fact when I did, the heat sink didn't even touch the GPU on the video card. Searching for a passive cooling answer began when I purchased a HIS iSilence ICEQ 4670 video card for typical Computer usage and gaming. It came with a Zalman passive cooler. Playing some games at a high resolution mode I identified that the pc would shut down since the graphics card got too hot. Program Logs stated so.With the stock passive cooling heat sink assembly the idle state temperature began at 60 degrees C. Playing a game the temperature climbed promptly to more than 95 C and pushed beyond 110 C in a matter of minutes. Then the Pc powered off.I reported this concern making use of HIS web web-site's technical request form but have however to hear back from themThe manufacture claimed that the HIS iSilence ICEQ 4670 would:propel you deep into your game play with rapid frame rates and high resolutions...andyou can jack up the settings on the most demanding next-generation games...The Accelero S1 Rev. two was just what I necessary.
