Lots of selections for what ever I require, fantastic price tag, newegg's great service and speed. I don't know if it was just my case, or I'm an idiot, or if it's the board itself, but it seemed to match a little as well tight against the back panel it came with. The panel bows just a tiny. Not a big deal, and it hasn't caused any issues although. Just constructed my initial machine, and I have to say I'm very pleased with the benefits. Appears to be a extremely great motherboard.

With the newest BIOS ƒ.4) and compatible ram, this functions great. Overclocking is fairly uncomplicated if you take the time to study up on the recommended settings. All the settings I necessary to change were uncomplicated enough to discover in the BIOS. Remarkable how substantially far better 6gb Ɠx2g) Hyundai PC3-8500 OEM ram worked in this (at up to 1600mhz) compared to OCZ PC3-12800 ram (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227365). Currently operating i7 920@ 3.8ghz air cooled (prime95 stable)... haven't identified stable settings for 4ghz. This program worked like total garbage with the ocz ram talked about, no matter the settings or bios version... I could not get the method to function like it must. Either the method wouldn't post or would freeze for 10-20 seconds at a time. I can't actually fault the board although, due to the fact once I place some PC3-8500 ram in, it worked perfectly (at all the very same timings as the 'faster' ram). Not to say the ocz ram is junk, it worked good in an x38 board I had. Just be warned, as others have talked about, this board and ocz ram don't work well together. I've generally been partial to asus boards, but this doesn't feel like a step down at all. Do your research when picking hardware, and you'll be quite content. I would definitely acquire an Asrock board in the future based on this practical experience. Also the OC Tuner software program isn't negative. I would only use it for slight tweaking (voltage/speeds). Largely it is very good for finding accurate program temps. I attempted other programs and I would get invalid readings (nothing additional scary than seeing a false 127c output reading for the cpu... yes Celsius)

From what I've study and just hunting at the board you can tell ASROCK performs with or is ASUS. I have applied ASUS MSI, SOYO, FOXCONN in the past and been pleased but this ASROCK mobo has met and exceeded my expectations. It's BIOS OC section is PACKED and also contains preset configs to set your CPU to anything from 3.six-four.2ghz and I chose four.two off the bat to see if it would go and yes. it. did. With a inexpensive set of 6gb 2000mhz OCZ Triple Channel ram and a i7 920 I just did swift set to 4.2mhz and bam on stock cooling this system hums at a warm 60-70c stressed. I was amazed and an instant ASROCK Fan. Not a dayum a single. You want an ATX board that supports i7 4 AND six core cpu's (future proof) and don't want to commit โ-70+ added do not hesitate to get this board. At very first I was like who is ASROCK and what produced Tom's Hardware judge this as a great board... immediately after my 1000th pc build and stupid fast OC and XP > VISTA > WIN 7 installs (i mess about a lot) I deemed this board a worthy contender. You have my word.

I've owned this for about six months. I was able to very easily overclock my processor in the BIOS menu with small knowledge of how to do such points. For me, motherboards are a no news is excellent news factor. none. If you are only making use of three ram sticks you will need to make certain you place them in the appropriate color. This motherboard is the opposite of my final motherboard as to which is the initially ram slot. So when I attempted to boot up the laptop or computer up for the initial time absolutely nothing happened. Following me and my roommate couldn't figure out the difficulty I decided to read the instruction manual out of desperation. And I found out that my ram was in the wrong spot.

Cheap This board was buggy considering that the beginning. It BSOD'd often through the initially couple of weeks. I discovered out the lead to of this was the memory (OCZ Gold 6 GB). A BIOS update was offered on the suppliers web site which fixed the crashing. However, immediately after applying the update, the CPU speed remained at a continual two.8 GHz (i7 920 two.88 Ghz). After 7 months, I decided to update the BIOS yet again not too long ago since of more BSOD's due to memory management concerns. Right after applying the update, the BIOS by no means booted up once again. All the fans, LED's, and disks came on but the screen remained blank. The Dr. Debugger remains off and it is not attainable to tell what is incorrect with the motherboard. Initially and last time I will ever purchase an ASRock product.

Extremely nicely developed board. Lots of USB ports/headers on board, along with SATA connections. Manual was really good and board was one particular of the simplest to set up and get up and running. Pricey nonetheless. Was hoping that X58 boards would be under 财 USD, but sad to say, not. Running Core i7, 12GB DDR3, and GTS450 with 60GB SSD (boot) and 1TB (data).

Low cost Bought 5 of these boards and setup 5 Computer's with the exact similar configuration in Win7. 1 was DOA, two boards freeze as soon as just about every other day. I'm getting prepared to RMA those. Four of the boards had an older version of the bios which wouldn't boot out of the box. Had to flash to two. version of the Bios before I could set up the OS. Two boards are operating fine. I replaced 1 of the freezing boards with an Asus which so far is rock solid on the identical hardware.

1. Lots of USB ports.two. The on board headers match nicely with the front panel ports on my Sniper case.three. Six SATA II ports, which is nice, but eight would be superior, esp. if you want to run an OS drive, additional than 3 RAID 5 drives, and two SATA DVD drives, and nonetheless have a connection open for a front panel eSATA connection.four. Runs fine if you don't attempt to OC it with the swift default profiles. 1. Board went out right after about a month or two. It worked just fine the evening prior to, and when I went to turn it on the next morning, nothing at all would come on the screenŌ. Getting an RMA number took a extended time, which I was out my personal computer for about two weeks, which truly suckedō. Had to spend ำ for a new RMA board + ป shipping due to the fact I purchased it used off of a effectively know auction site, not ever possessing mobo's gone undesirable in the previous, and not expecting this one particular to go undesirable eitherŎ. I can't get the hardware RAID to work. The manual only mentions how to get it to function in XP, not Windows 7. I believed I could just configure the RAID in the BIOS, but my machine locks up and reboots before the login screen comes up. I tried downloading the drivers from the internet web site, but it still doesn't performŐ. Locks up when I try to OC the memory and CPU using the rapid profiles. I haven't had time to research the certain settings to correctly OC. Would anticipate the fast profile settings to suffice! I purchased this board based on Tom's Hardware review, which they didn't take into account the possibility of mobo's going poor and needing an RMA!Other individuals seemed to have had complications that needed an RMA as nicely. none so far I just received my second replacement motherboard. It powers on for 2 seconds and shuts down. I unplugged the ATX 12V connector and it stays on... but no energy to the Intel I7 950 processor. I am starting to consider I need to get a Gigabyte motherboard replacement. I checked the ATX 12 VDC connector... all four pins supply 12 VDC. ASRock tech support sent me a "Form letter" difficulty shooting guide, which was no use, as it won't keep powered up to do any difficulty shooting. I usually acquire ASUS or Gigabyte motherboards... if tech help won't come by way of, I'll send this one back also and acquire ASUS.

The board worked perfectly for two days. My CPU, GPU, and memory benchmarks improved more than the Gigabyte X58A-UD3R. The dual GTX 570s ran cooler. On the third day it would not boot into Windows 7. I attempted entering Windows in safe mode and uninstalling Asrock's InstantBoot and OC programs but nevertheless get a BSOD when entering Windows. Getting rid of two sticks of the memory and one of the video cards didn't support. On the fourth day I requested and received a RMA number. Keep tuned. Possibly I will get lucky with the replacement board.

-Dependable (I've had the board installed and running for about 9 months now with extremely high usage including getting overclocked CPU, memory, and graphics--have not seen a single problem)-User Friendly (The BIOS is in-depth and easy to navigate. The Effortless OC that ASRock gives is very straight forward--you decide on what speed you want to overclock to and it automatically sets all parameters accordingly. And YES, it performs! Devoid of a hitch, in truth. I have yet to OC above three.7Ghz since I am only cooling on air and do not care for pushing my hardware that substantially)-Tons of selections (up to 24GB DDR3 2000 ram!!, three PCIe x16 {of program bandwidth only enables two to run at true x16}, 6 SATAII connectors!!, and all the fan headers you will need. In no way used INSTANT BOOT but I've heard it's cool. All IO choices you can wish, 7 rear USB, and selection to hook up four much more, even an onboard OPTICAL audio out!! woohoo)-ASRock client service is essentially fairly responsive and actually cares about their goods. -Onboard CMOS diagnostic readout is often displaying "AA." I've contacted ASRock (they truly have telephone assistance!!) and they reassure me that this is typical and they are conscious about it. Apparently, according to assistance forums, this is a really common problem and doesn't appear to have an effect on something...other than obtaining a code on the display. I have flashed to the newest BIOS Ӑ.60} and it is nevertheless there. I just wonder if they know about it, why can't they fix the error. But once again, a quite unimportant issue. For the price, you Can not go incorrect. There are so many evaluations of DOA and what not, but you have to assume that there are other causes than the board itself. Initially of all, UPS is horrible at handling packages and anybody who has dealt with them prior to knows to ship critical factors via FedEx (i.e. HDDs, mobos, and so on.) Second, be sure to use proper STATIC Control DEVICES! I am not goin to assume that others don't, but you can be plenty sure that there are a bunch of people who have given poor reviews simply because they fried their boards themselves. Connecting your static device to the case of your laptop or computer is not grounding your self...you have to connect to a GROUNDED source. I took the faceplate of an outlet and connected my strap to the metal outlet box...if you have conduit, then you are grounded. Keep in mind, our bodies generate a big amount of electrical power...sufficient to sometimes blow these small fragile capacitors on these mobos. Just take precautions..waiting to RMA is a extended course of action.

Nonetheless operating fine after 1+ year. Nevertheless the lowest expense X58. Engineering is a little old, i.e. no USB three. or SATA-3, but still a bargan. My rig: ASRock X58 Extreme MB, i7-902 CPU, OCZ Gold 3X2GB DDR3 1600 kit, EVGA GTS 250 wǗGB DDR3 X2 graphics, WD1601ABYS HDD X2 in a RAID 1, WD1002FBYS HDD X4 in a RAID 5, and a PATA DVDRW, pushed by a Computer Power& Cooling Silencer 910 PSU in a Cooler Master mystique situation. Other than my orginal nitpicking, the appropriate angle PATA and SATA jacks are hard to get at in my case and it would have been good if the 3rd PCIe 16 slot had been an X8 instead of an X4, no concerns at all. I noticed some recient buyers are possessing issuse with the board. I have been experiencing far more troubles than regular with other recient tech buys also, NOT THIS MB, and wonder if it isn't an business wide QA problem.

I have had this installed and running now more than one particular year. It is still as solid as the 1st day.-Great layout. Double wide PCI-e x16 on major. CPU placed down from the prime of the mobo to accomodate large coolers.-BIOS is quite user friendly and EZ OC is rock solid. BIOS updates are released really regularly and are a BREEZE to install (can even update BIOS from Windows).-Onboard audio is killer. I have a quadrophonic setup and music and games totally blow me away (probably my neighbors too). I have nevertheless to hook up via the optical/coax output. -Even has excellent ol' legacy connectors for dudes like me who have a tricky time seeing a personal computer with out a FDD.-DEBUG LED is handy and looks really cool in the case. -DEBUG LED is still saying AA. I have contacted ASRock (spoke to an actual living individual) and they stated they know this board likes to throw that code but that every thing is perfectly fine. OK, whatever. I myself haven't seen any problem, it's just the code tends to make me consider there is a problem. I wonder why they don't fix it in 1 of their BIOS updates? But, besides the code, I haven't seen a problem since of it. I ought to say that seeing the distribution of ratings is a tell-tale sign. First of all...I can't believe for a second that folks get board after board DOA and it wasn't their fault for zapping it to hell. STATIC Manage! Our bodies make enough electrical energy to kill these boards. How several of these DOAs touched their boards with out suitable static manage? I suspect quite a few of them. Prior to a single opens that static bag, he or she demands to be effectively grounded, and I stress adequately. I would advise any particular person who is thinking of this board to not necessarily ignore all evaluations that say DOA, but to at least not give them quite substantially weight. Motherboards are fragile by nature and need to be handled as such throughout the complete computer building course of action. I don't mean to be preachy, but it is rather frustrating to see all these unfavorable reviews on such a wonderful item just simply because some folks refuse to take the right precautions. Buy this board, you will not regret it.

Folks that don't know how to build a personal computer and OC appropriately. and men and women that like to complain. I see so a lot of oh this was DOA and they give it 1 or two stars. Thats not ASROCKS fault. DOA's occur guys. this is how making computers performs. If you get a DOA then newegg ships you a new one at NO price. YOu pay lik ten bucks for shipping. I'm sick of men and women ruining the ratings of an otherwise great MOBO. 2nd group of people today overclock also hard an count on their components to final also extended. I've built with Asus, EVGA, and now ASRock. All 3 are fantastic corporations. I would say that EVGA is the finest of the three but they are also the mos pricey. I've heard fantastic points from gigabyte as well. This board is on the other hand the cheapest x58 board that allows you all the exact same options as the 300-400 dollar boards and its half the price. I see no drawbacks. I posted initial try and O.C. almost everything and its 100% stable on a full days worth of prime95. I also emailed the guys at ASrock with a couple questions. They responded to my e-mail in a matter of hours with a quantity. When i named there was a guy who had already study my questions and was capable to fire off the answers 1 by 1. Cheap 1366 board, great bang for the buck. Properly, a couple of modest points I don't like about the board. Overall, 4 eggs but I had to deduct for these reasons:Most of my gripe is the possibilities in the Bios. For VTT voltage, the alternatives have a wide gap. It goes from 1.27 to 1.34 to 1.41, can't do something in amongst. Effectively my L5640 isn't very stable right after 20 minutes of stressing at 211 base clock with 1.34 but I don't want to run 1.41. Subsequent, there's only 2 USB headers, but 1 is on the bottom and 1 is on the side along with the 1394 and power header. Most boards common is the bottom proper corner for the power header and spread across the bottom for the USB and 1394 headers. Once once again, minor gripe but I like a clean case look not wires everywhere so this doesn't help. Not the very best for CPU's with a low multiplier due to the VTT voltage possibilities. My L5640 has an 18 multi (turbo), so with 211 base clock I'm at 3.8ghz.Nonetheless a decent board overall, and I'm a fan of ASRock.
