This was the only Board I could afford when i bought it.Still under warranty at time of death! Died following practically a year. RMA'ing, so far that process has been pretty painless. Worked nicely till one day the NIC suddenly died. Read a review right here, unplugged for a couple of minutes, it worked again. A couple of weeks later, it gave up on me completely.

Almost everything still works.Plenty of space for a SLI configuration.BIOS is effortless to read and overclock with.ASRock EZ clock is a good function for amateur overclockers.Onboard audio is great.Functions well with a five.1 surround sound program. The LAN port stopped operating for a day. worked fine soon after and nonetheless works fine. I have owned this motherboard more than a year already.I have 12gbƖx2gb) DDR3 1600 memory installed in right here.

The value, ease of overclocking utilizing the loaded presets is idiot proof. Nicely designed board connections for a clean install instead of wires operating everywhere. Can't really assume of any. This board exceeded my expectations for the value. Read a couple of evaluations complaining about not getting able to use OCZ ram, I installed 6GB of OCZ DDR3 1600 gold high performance ram and it posted the first time. I believed ASRock was a smaller company owned buy ASUS, right after also owning a few ASUS boards I'll say this, ASUS demands to take some lessons from ASRock!!!

There are a lot of built in features that make this board desirable to the newer users. The BIOS is mostly uncomplicated to realize and setup, despite the fact that some of the CPU and other voltage settings are listed extremely differently from other MoBo Manufacturers. In spite of some descent features, this board failed immediately after about a year. Right after inspecting it to see what could have caused the failure, I observed the thermal paste on the Northbridge Chip had been applied in excess and sloppily. Some parts of the green "board" region about the contacts of the chip were shiny, warped, and appeared like melted plastic. The board had been really slightly overclocked (no voltage alterations produced) and temps had been all properly inside tolerances. AsRock Support's answer to this was "too poor, don't overclock." I understand the finish user takes a modicum of threat in overclocking, but an overclock with no need for voltage alterations and the outcomes of my inspection on the North Bridges leaves me with the impression that it's just their "out" for incredibly poor manufacturing.

Doesn't appear as horrible as some mobo's, more affordable then other 1366's. Bought the very first one particular...DOA, next one DOA, subsequent one particular DOA, subsequent one particular DOA. I am carried out with ASRock merchandise, horrible top quality, no reliability, and no refunds.

Finest bang for the buck x58 board, all the functions of an ASUS board/bios for half the price. None Windows 7 Recognized all the drivers out of the box. All these people today hating on this board makes me wonder if they're just name brand fan boys. There's definitely absolutely nothing wrong with this board, with continuous support with bios updates I don't see how it could be given a 1Ǜ. Does almost everything a motherboard really should do.If you want USB 3. and SATA6. get their subsequent model up.

Pretty stable, not too several problems. This is a great evaluation but in my opinion, the bios has some minor problems. BIOS does NOT save settings that you specify in the voltage/frequency for cpu/memory/bus.default voltage for memory was 1.85v, Im not overclocking, just want lengthy life and stable, lowest I was in a position to set it was ӭ.55v - fine. Some of it is related to other settings but that must be noted.default CPU voltage is 1.30v, underload will go down to 1.25v, slightly high but this was intended as an overclock platform.BIOS requirements tweaks, fix it ASRock. Considering that I received this mobo, some things occurred.Seagate 1TB drive failed...鼮GB or bigger have troubles with ALL manufacturers)nVidia Gforce 9800GT failed, completly, stalling boot approach. Wish my luck was superior (or possibly greater standards for QC), not genuinely related to the mobo although.

Triple channel support, good power management tool, Instant Boot brings up Win7 virtually immediately, affordable for a 1366 board Initial board arrived with a dead memory slot, RMA'd by means of newegg. Second board arrived and worked for about two days then started overheating to the point exactly where it would freeze in BIOS setup. RMA'd by means of manufacturer, decent customer service. New board has been operating appropriately for a week now, really content with the performance. minus two eggs for two dead boards and somewhat lengthy return procedure, originally ordered on April 1st and in between the two RMAs I didn't have the computer system up and running till May well 20th. I would nonetheless advocate this board as it works wonderfully when operational - I would just include a caveat to have patience if the very first one doesn't work.

Great price (if it works) DOA Bought simply because of the high critiques from Tom's HW & similar sites but the last two weeks reviews when I identified out I had problems with this board showed 60% gave the board five stars but 40% gave 1 star. Soon after reading all of the DOA troubles and some people acquiring 1st and 2nd replacements that had been faulty made a disbeliever out of me. Wonder why Newegg even continues to carry a item with the apparent history this certain 1 appears to be creating. Not confident if they just got a poor batch or the QC is nonexistent. Either way I'm accomplished with Asrock!

Spent a long time researching Mobos to see which was the very best bang for my buck. Tom's Hardware gave this one rave critiques, so I nabbed it. Works Like a charm. Huge amount of ports for everything that you require. A lot of space for significant Video cards. Very good arrangement of Connectors.Get this if you need a low-cost Solution for 1st Gen i7's. Didn't work initially at first. Got super nervous, but following resetting CMOS by removing battery, every thing was A-Ok! Not Hackintoshable, but you can't blame ASRock for that. Super good layout. Uncomplicated to install elements. Excellent connector location. On board energy and reset buttons. BIOS reset on back panel. EZ overclock. LED POST code read-out. Solid and trustworthy performer. Fantastic 1366 board and an exceptional value. Poor documentation. Some confusion as to what the "AA" POST code means. Initially factor to do after acquiring this mobo is UPGRADE THE BIOS. A number of reviewers appear to have problem with this board (PEBCAK?) operating suitable but most issues seem to be resolved by updating to the most recent BIOS version.Been making use of this mobo considering that May possibly 2009 and have had no hardware related issues, at all. This is a super solid and simple to use mobo. ASRock may possibly be the "value segment" of Asus but I have come to prefer ASRock more than Asus basically simply because I have less problems with ASRock compared to Asus. FYI...soon after this mobo POST's and boots into the OS, you should see the "AA" code in the LED POST code read-out on the mobo. The "AA" code is the last code and designates a total and full POST sequence.

I bought this board back in October of 2009 and it's been in service because then. I have my I7-920 clocked to 4Ghz on the stock cooler and haven't had any difficulties. It's run solid for pretty much 1.5 years so I guess I'm lucky. I was running SLI with a pair of GTX 280's till my son spilled coke on my Antec 300 case and fried the best video card. Even with the introduction of liquid, the MB never ever faltered. Placement of the Firewire and Sound connectors made it hard to hook up to my Antec 300 case. I haven't had any issues with this MB, but I would be leary of buying one more ASrock MB taking into consideration all the trouble others have had with them. My next build will most likely be a I7-2600K construct with a MB from a higher rated MB vendor

Worked fantastic for 3 weeks. Failed soon after three weeks. After making use of the laptop for three weeks, I rebooted and got stuck on the motherboard configuration page. We demised that I got a poor unit. Going to attempt a new X58 and hopefully will not have the similar troubles!

This is an affordable motherboard at an impressively low cost point. It's got SLI, Crossfire, X58, and all the good functions of motherboards that can expense twice as significantly. It was straightforward to install, and recognized my RAM at right speed and timings without adjustment. It has amazing OC capability as nicely. The layout of this board could use some tweaking. Sideways SATA ports sit right underneath my second GFX card, so had to plug those in very first, plus the 8-Pin 12v energy connector is opposite the side my bottom mounted PSU sits. Cable management took some hits with this board. Regardless of it's shortcomings in layout, this board delivers. I was initially apprehensive about acquiring this board soon after seeing so a lot of negative critiques, but issues couldn't have gone smoother with this board. Suggestion: Don't install included software, it's garbage.

Good searching, almost everything fits in fine, BIOS is uncomplicated to use and easy to set up Freezing. Lots and lots of freezing. Froze in the BIOS, froze in Windows, froze whilst reinstalling Windows which isn't superior for anybody. I thought it was the cables, or due to the fact I had SATA difficult drive but instead of SATA II, but immediately after it froze several times in the BIOS decided it was the motherboard and sent it back. It'd be best if it worked. Go with EVGA

Wasn't too pricey, and it works. These aren't large deals, but the 24 pin power connector is proper next to the ram slots, those thick wires push against the ram and that has me worried. One more thing is it also requires an 8 pin energy connector, which isn't a issue, but the placement is. If your employing a full tower with a bottom mounted PS, the wire is stretched to its limits to reach the 8 pin connector. (I'm utilizing cooler masters HAF case). Overall, it does its job. I'm worried given that the 8 pin wire barely reaches its connector that it will weaken more than time and possibly mess up the soldering. Also worried about it messing up my memory (or making it much more hot than it has to be)

Superior features. Good LCD for post difficulties. Great capabilities. Convenient reset button on the back. The SATA ports all died in below 6 months. I had several memory concerns. Some incompatible, or didn't play good with a second pair in. The the memory in no way over-clocked like it need to.

Price is naturally one of the pro's.Quickly set up and runs very properly. setup of the board didnt genuinely permit me to make it cleanly wired. Most of the critiques say how a lot of a nightmare it is and that there isnt a lot documentation, but the stickers on the mobo tell you most of the instructions, which includes one thing responsible for at least in component, some of the poor reviews which is install RAM in the white slots 1st.Intel Core i7-930DDR3 1600 Corsair XMSBFG Tech GTX 285Win7

Good layout.Runs cool.additional slot space between 1st and 2nd x16 PCIe slots (better airflow for SLI setups). I'm not a enormous fan of the stacked SATA connectors. Installed in a Antec 300. Also making use of aProlimatech Megahalems Rev.B cooler. 1 caveat I found was that the board had to be removed to install the cooler, despite the open back plate on the Antec 300. The board locations the CPU about 1ǘ" too high.I was weary about purchasing ASRock and pretty much bought the Gigabyte UDR3, but opted for the ASRock based on cost, the extra space for SLI and Tom's Hardware's prior recommendation. So far I have not regretted that decision.

eSATA! HDMI! On-board and rear panel power and CMOS buttons... with actual buttons, not microswitch nubs. Came up initially boot! This is a builder's mobo, for sure. Header section of the manual is concise, with cross-references to the leading view on page 2 (where it really should be) of the manual. The diplomatic version: this mobo assumes you've built a lot ahead of. If you believe you'll will need to call TS, you'll be greater off with EVGA, ASUS, and so on. Nevertheless, I can't de-egg for the documentation getting "concise".

Lots of capabilities, bios is friendly, all the software works fantastic, internet site simple access to latest drivers. This is a Terrific Motherboard Raid setup documentation is poor. The manual mentions performing a "raid prepared" setup, installing to 1 HD and then making use of Intel Matrix Storage Manager software in windows to migrate to a Raid , 1, or 5 configuration. Bleh! They also give you yet another selection to set raid in the bios and then go look on their CD for the raid instalation directions. Bleh! Appear, if you are performing a Windows 7 installation, ultimately you will figure out all you have to do is in the Bios under advanced - IDE configuration change it to Enhanced, save it, when you reboot hit CTRL-I and set up your raid, thats it. It's straightforward like the rest of the setup and install on this motherboard is, the documentation just doesn't reflect that. I have built a lot of systems, employed a lot of big name motherboards (ASUS, Abit, etc) this is by far my preferred. Setup was mostly a breeze and it is working flawlessly. Generally there is some little thing when developing a new system that will irritate me with regards to the motherboard, like the software program crapping out, or the downloads section of the site poor, but I am 100% pleased with this ASRock item.

Cons: Requires BIOS update  to support 3DIMMS out of the box.

Pros: Well liked by Tom's Hardware reviews due to affordable solution for overclocking. Have your pie and eat it too.
Comment:
If you buy this board with more than one DIMM make sure you only install one DIMM while setting up initially. Better yet, go here:http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=X58 Extreme&o=BIOSAnd put BIOS version 2.3.0 or higher onto a USB flash drive, and update  your BIOS right away. This will solve the known issue of failure to boot with more than 1 DIMM installed.

Bought this board for a new build with i7 920 and works perfectly with it. Had to update  the BIOS to read all RAM, but works flawlessly, using the onboard RAID for 1 and 0 configuration and the built in sound is more than sufficient.
