debug LED with POST codes on MB MB will not boot. Tried to enter BIOS by pressing <F2>. Intermittently enters bios (about 1 in 30 reboots). Tried resetting CMOS, Removing battery, re-flashing BIOS with latest from mfg. Nevertheless will not boot and will not enter BIOS. 8GB DDR3, gtx460, 750 watt PS, 1TB drive hopefully replacement will perform!

NewEgg consumer service. Let me preface this with the fact I do this form of work for a living. 1st board had coax audio connector bent most of the way off board upon unpacking. Box and other contents had been not sealed in any fashion. Guessing it was a return that got back into rotation. 2nd board exhibited all the issues gone into detail in other evaluations. Video difficulties, random lockups without having a post code associated and memory timing difficulties. Checked for bent pins in socket, Upgraded and downgraded bios, changed memory and video adapters, Also changed memory timing which brought a bit of relief to the lockup at boot troubles but could not resolve the other killers such as video randomly disappearing and lockups soon after operating for 5-30 min.Applied all of the hardware attempted with this board on yet another manufacturer's X58 board and it all worked flawlessly and with no fuss. 5 stars for Newegg RMA dept. They had been efficient and very good to perform with. Complications come about when dealing with commodity products and the actual test is in how they are resolved. Newegg scores massive on that point.

I've essentially lost track of how quite a few Pc builds I've created with this board, either 3 or 4, from a incredibly intense "mega-construct" devoted to song-writing, to a couple easier, straight-forward systems. I have had completely no issues, not brief run during the develop, not lengthy-term in heavy use. Unfavorable reviews are unnerving, but I have no cons whatsoever to report. When/if I do, I will report back with a review. I agree with other reviewers who report rough handling by UPS; a shame too, UPS is a better firm than that . . . do we feel USPS could do much better? d:-) Anything "weird" going on in these critiques, way as well significantly "egg swing". 51% - 5 eggs; 23% - 1 egg? C'mon.

Double-wide spacing of PCI express slots, low-cost, and runs equal to or superior than the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R it replaced. 6 Gbs Ɠ x two) of G.Ability 1600MHz memory booted proper up and SLI operates wonderful. Front panel header is placed far away from the panel on my SilverStone Fortress FT02B situation forcing me to break out my soldering iron and extend the wires. The major cause I purchased this board was due to the fact my one particular of my two GTX 570 cards was operating as well hot on the Gigabyte board. The double-wide PCI express slots brought the prime card (the ideal-hand card in my situation) down 4-6 degrees C at idle.Intel i7 950 @ 3.84GHzAsrock X58 Extreme6Gb G.Skil 1600MHZTwo EVGA GTX570Corsair H70 CoolerCorsair HX1000A PSWindows 7 64 bit

Rock Solid. Good Layout. I have two of these MB's. Overclock i980X to 4. GHz in Cooler Master HAF 922 situation, carrying out Video editing with FX4800 Video board. Under no circumstances crashes and Temp stays below 50C. My Corsair and Kensington 12Mb memory configures appropriately. This ASRock MB's performs as advertised. None. You get what you pay for. No matter what brand of motherboard men and women acquire I advise reading not just the evaluations but downloading and reading the manuals, particularly the QVL just before getting.

Crossfire/SLI support. A lot of USB's. This type of stuff is fairly a lot normal at this point. The genuine beauty is in the BIOS. Superb overclocking. Got my i7 up to 3.6ghz with nearly no work at all. Also clocked my ram at DDR3 1866. I could almost certainly push it higher but it seems like a waste at this point. Entire process took about 15 minutes with the EZ OC alternatives. For the price tag of the board, it can't be beat. Except possibly by its younger brother boasting SATA3 and USB3. Initially, each other startup would only recognize two of my three sticks of RAM. Won't drop an egg since the pro's outweigh it. And a BIOS update solved the concern. Type of wish I would have waited for the a single with SATA3 and USB3, but odds are I won't will need them until my next construct anyway. If you don't want to devote >赨 for an 1366 board, this is the spot to cease your search. BIOS is great, customer support is great, and the encounter I had will hold me regarded ASRock for my future purchases. It may well not get you to 4ghz but for these of us who want to game and overclock a fair amount on a spending budget, its perfect.

Price tag, Ease of Setup, All SATA and IDE cables included. Appears to call for a rather big power supply. Properly it appears there are a lot of poor evaluations for this mobo which I wish I would have read in far more detail just before buy. Most men and women report DOA or the board croaking right after a few months. When I very first installed this to upgrade my Computer the board booted fine and I setup bios and produced my raid array and such. Following booting the Windows 7 CD the Computer would lock at "Loading Windows" just before setup. Also it would not POST a lot of occasions and would just shut down ahead of obtaining to reading the CD.I had a 450 watt power supply in the Computer and was furious the board was not operating. I decided perhaps it was power associated and went and bought a 680 watt power provide and all of my difficulties are fixed! So if you are going to get this board make confident you have a 650 watt PSU or greater. I feel that is why most men and women feel the board is DOA when really their power supply is not up to par.

none Sent my SECOND board back As it (& the first MB) would say on for 2-5 seconds then shut down. I asked for a refund.. as an alternative, today, I recieved my third X-59 MB... I believed I'd give it a try, installed it, the 3rd MB says on long enough to boot up, as I am installing W7, it shuts down & reboots. following 4 times, I stated enough, called Newegg and asked for a complete refund. which they agreed too. What are the alterations of getting three boards that WILL NOT remain powered up? ASRock tech assistance said ask for a refund. I have built over 30+ computer systems (since 8088 processors) & have never ever had this significantly difficulty. Steer clear of this MB and stay away from wasted time!

The X58 Extreme has the identical capabilities as much more high priced X58񳅆/DDR3 mobos, but it's substantially more affordable. Properly, prices may well have changed now, but at least when I purchased it, it was so considerably less expensive than any other equivalent boards. By no means actually had any difficulties with it aside from the onboard LAN. Weird troubles with the onboard LAN -- can be solved, but it's still annoying -- read beneath If you are experiencing troubles with the X58 Extreme's onboard LAN chipset, do not RMA or purchase a separate NIC card just however! Odds are it's not really dead. I identified that powering off the Pc will clear up the concern and it will perform once more. I don't just imply shutting down or rebooting it, that won't fix the challenge. I mean truly UNPLUGGING your energy supply and leaving it unplugged for 10-15 seconds. I have no notion why this fixes it, but I tried each and every other attainable resolution and nothing else worked, but this functions 100% of the time. And on an unrelated note, if you strategy to overclock on this board, I would not suggest making use of the ASRock "EZ OC" characteristic.

Why don't I RMA it? The system performs rapid sufficient for me to not bother dismantling anything.On-board sound didn't impress and brought on odd noises in my speaker technique. My old sound card installed and worked fine. Excellent MB for the value, the overclock and video functions make it 5 eggs, but I took back 1 for the memory and sound issues.

Extremely great board for OCing. Has an automatic overclock settings that appears to function nicely. (In the finish I hd to set mine manually anyway) Be confident to connect the 8 pin energy as nicely as the 24 pin. I identified the board would not even post without having the 8 pin power also. (The manual type of tends to make the 8 pin sound optional) The automatic overclocking started as well high Ɠ.6GHz). I could only go up to three.3 due to heat constraints of my case. So I had to set base clk and cpu multiplier by hand for my setup. Nonetheless incredibly easy.

This board is wonderful for the income. Program is very stable, but it does not like to warm boot occasionally (after becoming on for weeks)... if I wait 30 seconds it posts quickly. I'm running a i7 920 @ three.6-7ghz 鳦 BLCK and up to 22 multiplier in turbo mode). CPU temp idles at 45c and peaks at 70c in Prime95. I can't believe that they have ocz ram even listed on the very same page. I had some (N82E16820227365) that worked fantastic in other systems, but was TERRIBLE with this board. The process would freeze for 10-20 second intervals.... overall performance was awful, no matter what settings I attempted. When I switched to some Hyundai OEM ram, all my problems went away. Make certain you get ram that is compatible with this board. It overclocks very properly and has all the functions I require.

You'll locate my evaluation for this motherboard back in March; my develop with this board continues to blaze along; nonetheless, I've in no way seen such a wide range of evaluations - and in massive numbers (nearly 400) - as this board has gotten on Newegg. As an old guy geek, I hang about Newegg reviews like a wino. I'm encouraged by the (slight) recent improvement in the Newegg critique ratings for this board; and if the buyer was lucky, some older evaluations had been outstanding. Clearly from the Newegg critiques alone, this motherboard has had significant excellent manage troubles . . . some brought on by inadequate packing for shipment. A shame. Some of the best and most beneficial user evaluations I've ever read, a primer genuinely for how to inspect, right if essential, and install a motherboard. It's wonderful to have geek close friends out there . . . even if you are young gamers. d:-}) Yeah, I'm also old to be a gamer I guess . . . I can bear in mind 6-inch green Pc screens.

Operates fine from day a single. Enter BIOS with delete important. My initially construct about 9 months ago I employed this mobo as suggested in Tom's BuildYourOwn article. Haven't had any problem. I am now OC'ing, but only up to 3.6 with air cooler. Haven't applied the EZOC software program since I've read that using software program to OC just isn't reliable. Documentation was clear and understandable for a neubie like me. I put this rig together for about 񘋰.00 similar configuration on DELL web site 񘜼.00. I'm a pleased camper. My expertise is limited with understanding what to count on in a mobo and "How to compare" with other boards. With that said I have no complaints my computer runs great. This opened a can of worms. I want to construct an additional pc but cash is restricted.

Seems to have good attributes, too poor I by no means had the opportunity to use any of it. DOA. I'm angry and will under no circumstances be an ASROCK customer once again mainly because of this. I tried to reach an individual in their organization for tech help to figure out why there was no post, no error code in the LED, and no speaker beep. Well, turns out that they have NO Customer Support. Theres nothing as disappointing as waiting to create your i7 build only to uncover that you have to disassemble almost everything and obtain an additional mobo. DO NOT Buy. GO WITH THE Larger BRANDS TO SAVE YOU THE HEADACHE OF RMA.

Low cost, great capabilities some items were oddly placed on the board such as the CPU fan header, and only having spots for 2x external usb headers :( General, if you want a wonderful mobo with lots of functions at a great price tag, this is the a single to get, was finest of Tomshardware.com for 2009, supports tri-sli or crossfire, and has auto overclocking functions if you don't know what your carrying out.

Similar features as ASUS P6T. Low cost. Wonderful board when it functions. I've had this board for a couple of days more than a year. About a month ago, I began acquiring random BSODs. I didn't think too substantially of them. Possibly it happened once a week. I blamed it on Windows, because I was running some intense finite-element simulations. Last week I noticed that the systems was lagging a bit. Immediately after checking my memory usage, I saw that it only recognized four out of my 6 GBS of RAM. Later that day I got 3 BSODs in a row, with the cause listed as "Memory management"TL;DR: One particular of the memory slots burned out. This occurred a year and one particular week after I purchased it, so I can't get a new one through warranty. Devote the extra funds and get the Asus P6T. The three-year warranty is worth the expense. It also presently has a ฮ mail in rebate, as nicely, so it comes out to be roughly the same cost as this.

This board has most of the functions of substantially additional pricey X58 boards for a heck of a lot less money. It was uncomplicated to install and set up, and receiving it to play good with my OCZ Gold DDR3 1600 RAM was as effortless as tweaking a couple of settings in the BIOS. It's been handling my mildly overclocked Core i7 920 (running at 3.15GHz) beautifully for several months. Receiving one that functions out of the box is apparently the luck of the draw. It appears that the principal dilemma with these boards is the packaging -- when I opened the box, it was apparent that it hadn't been doing a excellent enough job of protecting the board from harm throughout shipping. Thankfully, the worst of the damage sustained by my board was a slightly bent S/PDIF port, which I easily bent back into its correct position and I've had absolutely no troubles with it ever because. The moral of the story is that if you manage to get a board that wasn't damaged due to ASRock's failure to include adequate protection in its packaging, you're going to enjoy it. Its six memory slots, three PCI-Express 2. x16 slots, help for eSATA, and solid onboard audio are attributes that would have price me a lot additional funds if I hadn't identified this ASRock board. The BIOS is easy to work with, and it's been performing just fine operating 24x7 with an overclocked CPU for the pretty much 5 months that I've owned it.I've docked the x58 Extreme one egg due to the flaws in its packaging and the lack of a manufacturer warranty. Honestly, ASRock really should know better, and the severe problems the packaging has induced for so quite a few unfortunate purchasers will give me pause prior to I acquire an additional ASRock product. Would I suggest this board? Yes, but only for men and women who have the patience to go by means of the RMA process if they're 1 of the unlucky ones who got a DOA board.

Absolutely nothing !DO NOT Invest in THIS BOARD. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR Cash ON IT. This is the 2nd board that has died on me in much less than 1 year. I build two personal computer systems with specifically the same components, one for me and one for my wife. My major board died in much less than 4 months. My wives just died today, ONLY 11 months old. I am just going to buy a gigabyte and throw this one particular in the trash. DO NOT Invest in THIS BOARD. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR Funds ON IT. The concern with the OCZ Ram is a bunch of (exploited deleted) too. If you look at my prior post, I had to return both sets of OCZ Ram since I could only run it 1ǘ speed 齠 mzh) for it to be stable. I had to switch to Corsair to make the systems work.DO NOT Invest in THIS BOARD. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR Money ON IT.

see other thoughts see other thoughts This board will not POST immediately after restart when OCed. If I stay at stock, I can restart til my heart desires. But anytime it's OCed, if I restart in anyway, it will reboot but it will not post. The indicator LEDs light up and it sounds like it's trying to POST but it just can't POST. If I wait about 2-three mins, it tends to be ok and will POST. But this is very annoying when you are trying to OC and needing to restart frequently.
