ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:- Dual GPU configuration can be difficult.

Pros:- Reliable.- BIOS easy to navigate.- Overclocking is fairly simple.- Decent integrated graphics.- Inexpensive.
Comment:
Purchased this for a gaming-esque build. It was simple to install and setup and has a good layout. I only tried minor overclocking, which was effortless. One of the issues is a lack of SATA ports, and dual GPU configuration. Overall, it's a good board for the price.

mobo spec
Comment:
I would like to get this mobo but it is not a true PCI 16X, the owner of this mobo say it is 2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 support, at full x16 or dual x8 link so I will keep on looking. if you see 2 different color PCI 16X slots it means 1 is 16X the other is 8X

Great board
Comment:
Got this board as a bundle from Tiger Direct. I built a new system on a budget and the onboard graphics was one of the reasons I bought this bundlle. It has geat features and I can still upgrade the graphics as it has two pci-e crossfire slots when I am able to upgrade. The win 7 experience index is 4.7 with onboard graphics so not bad. Used a Phenom 2 x4 965 cpu with 4 gigs corsair ddr3 ram with windows 7 ultimate and system screams.

Few Hitches
Comment:
One had to flash the bios as soon as I got it. Relatively nice board I'd say, to be honest the onboard graphics wasn't too bad for being onboard. The main reason for the performance score is the fact it was acting really flakey for me when trying to put a fresh copy of 7pro. Not 100% sure if it was the mobo or the os but something was flaking out. Its running great right now so i'm pretty satisfied.

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:* Tower Style HSF MUST Mount North-South.* 4 Pin Secondary Power Instead Of 8 Pin.* Better Bios Documentation Would Have Been Appreciated.

Pros:* Decent On-Board Graphics* HD Audio* Passively Chipset Cooling* Ample Space Around Socket For Cooling
Comment:
I like this board so far. Asus is an excellent mfg, though you do pay a bit more for that. The easy overclocking recovery is handy as heck. There is lots of space around the socket for cooling but you might obstruct your 1st ram bank. It happened in mine with a 212+There are 2 PCIE x 1 ports so that even with a dual socket cooler you have space for an add-in card. Being passively cooled means no fans to break down on the chipset (happened to me previously). Overall I feel it is a solid mainstream motherboard. About what you'd expect, with no ugly surprises. Which is exactly what I wanted.

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:AI nap sometimes not working wellExpress gate sometimes can be annoying...2nd PCIex8 slot location is not good

Pros:lots of bios settingsTurbo button is an interesting ideaAI Napbuild-in video (but I don't use it)Express GatePC Probe II
Comment:
So far it's working great. You got a lot of settings to play with, and you can even unlock your CPU core (with the latest bios). Auto setting also works great if you don't plan to o.c. AI nap works for me, but occasionally it gets stuck. When it works, it works great. Express gate is an interesting idea, but I haven't gotten much use of it, and sometimes it starts itself after I made changes to the BIOS settings. "EPU" mode is similar to my laptop modes, but I don't use it (I use AI suite+cool n quiet). Probe II is actually accurate at monitoring temperatures. If you have a big video card, and install it on the primary PCIex16 slot, it will block one of the PCIe slots. If you install it to the 2nd PCIex8 slot, it will block a PCI slot + no room for heat spreading, and you will not be able to do anything with floppy drive connector/some of front panel connectors unless you remove the video card.had a trouble when tried to resume from hibernation (CPU temp/fan not properly detected). Still not sure what's wrong. I will just use "nap" for now.Overall, I am satisfied with this motherboard.Edit, tried a few times with Sleep , and that problem didn't occur anymore. maybe just one time thing. Maybe that was caused by my unstable RAM... This review was modfied by poster @ 11-05-09 09:27 AM

Great Motherboard
Comment:
Not what a high gamer will want with its built in graphics, but handles everything else you could want. Comes with all the essentials for a great system with the ability to add on. With quad core AMD my system screams. As with all ASUS MOBOs assembly and installation was a breeze.

This is One Cool Board
Comment:
Every component went together nicely on this build. This was largely due to this mobo. In past builds I have had similar problems with these boards as Lee has expressed. If you haven't already tried it just reset the RTC by moving the jumper to pins 2 and 3 then back as recommended. Access the BIOS after POST, and adjust the clock time and date settings to the current time and date then boot as normal. Something to try before you go through the hassle of shipping the board back to TD.

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:-Northbridge heatsink too fancy to allow better airflow (my opinion)

Pros:-Decent priced motherboard with lots of features.-Solid board no problems or issues-Well laid out.-HDMI out
Comment:
Build it for a HTPC with AMD 955 BE with 8GB. Intergrated graphics with HDMI which is perfect. Using 92MM cooler to lower the temp and sound. This review was modfied by poster @ 10-21-09 07:51 PM

Pros:Well designed, very nice. coming with a lot of cool extensions. OC Features and software
Comment:
Installed it with phenom 2 955 BE and ocz 1600 ram.working at 1600, the overclok features of this card are amazing. It needed 5 minutes to have it overclocked at 1600 ram speed, 2800 NB speed and 3.8 Ghz Cpu speed.Asus still rocks, years after years.

have been stressing the motherboard since I got it with 3d applications and it's been working amazingly. So far don't have anything bad to say about it I just wished it had come with a crossfire connection cable.

It seems to be a good board
Comment:
I got it as part of a combo deal thru Tiger. I read a review of this board along with an AM3 processor that said it would be good for Windows 7. As it turned out I installed Windows 2008 Standard R2 with: Phenom II 955 Black OCZ Fatal1ty 4GB PC10666 DDR3 2 Hitachi 1 TB ATA 7200 rpm Sata-3g Rack Mount Case Ultra LSP750 750W Powersupply Coolermaster Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler Dual Layer DVD drive The network drivers did not work with Windows 2008, and Asus does not support that OS with drivers. I downloaded the R2 iso and burnt a disk. Lo and behold Microsoft supported the networking. Whew! Bad on Asus. I had not dealt with SATA before and had some trouble getting a boot with 2 drives. SATA 1 is the boot disk even though the bios seems to want to boot from Sata 3. The OS seems to see virtualization, but I have not put up a vm yet. The os installed the role with no problem.

Good performer, if the one you get works
Comment:
First one I received had a bad integrated video. When I got the other one, finding a power supply that actually worked with it was painful. For some reason the 400W supply I used worked yet the 550 and 500 did not. Go figure! Other than that, good product, the integrated video is surprisingly good, got a 4.4 performance score in vista!

Has Issues, Does the job
Comment:
Crashed twice within 2 weeks, I think due to video output issue, While computer was off i moved a video cable, after that as soon as OS should be loading, I just got black screen on all video outputs. Formatting fixed it both times, so maybe it has driver issues. Works great, but now i don't touch my display cables without first adjusting the setting.

I have tried three ASUS motherboards in the last month and not one fired up. I replaced MOBO's, CPU Processor, power supply and still didn't work. I had great help from ASUS on line techs but nothing worked, went with another brand, waiting on it to arrive.

If I could rate it higher I would!!!
Comment:
This mobo is absolutely amazing. The product features that go with it are great, and the product features not listed in here are even better. Has numerous features that are excellent for any OC'er. The board has 2 X16 PCI-e slots, ability to take DDR3 RAM and best of all can take AMD Phenom II 955 CPU. ASUS is a great company in the mobo community (best IMO) and they always live up to the rep. Definitely recommend for gaming rigs!!!

As good as other ASUS mobo
Comment:
The mobo in my first machine many years ago was from ASUS, and it was great. This one, great too. Paired it with AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition, everything is nice. If you want to build a good DDR3 AMD gaming machine but have a limited budget, this one is right for you.

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Can't seem to think of any.

Pros:Cheap motherboard. Perfect for my setup with AMD 945 and 8gb OCZ platinum 1600Mhz ram. It's been running pretty stable at 1600Mhz with out any issues what so ever.
Comment:
Really love how there is a onboard video card with HDMI output. Running at 1600Mhz with out any issues, however i did need to update  to the latest BIOS. I would recommend this motherboard to people with AM3 and DDR3 setup.

Comment:
So far this has been a great mobo....if u buy 1600 Mhz memory u have to OC other stuff(i bought some and its only running at 1033 Mhz..i turned it up in CMOS to 1600 Mhz and it said OC failed in post) but well worth the price....i read that some ppl had trouble with getting new CPUs to work but my BIOS revision was the newest available(woot no bios upgrade!) i recommend this mobo..but it!

Beautiful
Comment:
If you are into computers as much as I am you will call this motherboard beautiful! Has everything you need to build a great gaming computer. I had problems with the video card at first, so hooked up the HDMI straight to the motherboard with great gaming and movie quality. Got video card working everything is perfect. This is the only place I buy any electronic products.

Use caution when ordering
Comment:
I purchased this item in a barebone kit. The Bios was old and didn't work with the amd 955 black edition. The merchant has been working with me to replace the new bios but make sure the motherboard doesn't have the bios 0804. You need at least 1001 version.
