ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:RAM slot location

Pros:OC features
Comment:
Seems like a great board so far, the OC features make it very easy to tweak settings, board is easy to setup. One issue I have is that the RAM slots sit along the back side of the CPU slot, if one has a large cooler that isn't raised enough it can block 2 of the 4 RAM slots, so one has to be careful with the CPU cooler they get if running a full RAM load. Otherwise a really nice board, as expected from ASUS.

Really good Motherboard ... only one problem
Comment:
This is the best motherboard i bought recently! Combined with a AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition and a good GPU then the possibilities are endless!! Only problem is having to use DDR3 RAM. Its hard to find that kind of RAM anywhere! :P Overall, its a really good MoBo.

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:-The rest of their software tools are trash-Not enough instructions for Crossfire setup-The BIOS is really capricious about dual GPU configuration-Not enough SATA port for my taste (I used all of them)

Pros:-Integrated 3350 graphic card (great stuff for trouble shooting)-Crossfire ready for a cheap price at 2.0 X8 dual (way enough if you don't plan to put 1000$ on graphic cards [quad GPU])-Asus experience in motherboard-Asus EPU and AI suite are maturing well
Comment:
A lot of peoples seem to forget that AM3 is a platform with a FSB of 1333 MHz... not 1600, but can easily being overclock to that speed (check the instruction manual, 1600 OC). It's a nice board for the price, it's doing everything that we expect and I really like the IGP... BUT...You must turn it off when using a PCIe graphic card. It drains a lot of resources and can make the system unstable with other graphic cards on. The PCIe configuration is a little tricky and you should leave everything at default settings except the bandwith and the power. Using L0 or L1 will crash your system in Vista! I thought it was my graphics cards, but it was my BIOS setting messing up with my patience. Also, use a fan to cool up your Crossfire configuration. It's stated in the manual for an obvious reason.Overall, it's a nice board... but it can stretch your patience to your limit if you don't carefully read the manual. Also, don't bother installing anything else than the drivers, EPU and AI suite... the rest is pure garbage.

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Getting RAM to be stable at 1600Mhz is somewhat of a challenge. Could have more PCI-E slots.

Pros:Solid board, good integrated graphics and decent price point for a consumer mainboard.
Comment:
Bought this board with an AMD Phenom II X4 810 for my father. I can't seem to get the RAM to be stable at 1600Mhz even though I have identical RAM on an ASUS M4A79T Deluxe. He has used up all the PCI-E slots on board, so I don't know if this board is for someone that has a PCI-E Sound card or such. But he is very pleased with the mainboard.I can't see any faults, the manufacturing quality of this board is very nice, better than ASUS boards have been in awhile.ASUS "AUTO" voltage for CPU overvolts like on most ASUS mainboards, might want to set manually.

best board awsome buy for money!
Comment:
i bought this board. to replace my m2n-e. i had got an rma, for that board not getting another. the first m2n-e was awsome. but when it smoked the replacement worked a week then died. so i bought the m478t-e, to replace it. i love this board. i flashed it after install. what a fast machine. i am using this pc to test windows 7. it works great with 7. can't wait to install the finished product. buy this board it's worth every penny. i put in the 3.0 945 phenom x4. and 12800 ddr3 mem. my system rating lowest is 5.1 the processor shows 7.3, mem. 7.9, gaming graphics 5.3. impressed with board. thanks tiger good product. another good board from asus.

Nice board, peculiar Raid problem
Comment:
Asus does a nice job with board quality, features, documentation and support. I wanted to do a 3-drive raid 5 with this but could not get it working with Vista 64, Asus support claimed it was because the Raid would not support that R5 configuration while I also had a SATA DVD-R device. I switched to a Raid 1 with two drives and the third as a spare for backup, working fine.

This board Rocks!
Comment:
I got this board simply to update my aging system, the update was well worth the price. The HDMI is outstanding, if your running a 64 OS, you cant go wrong! Comes with some great additional apps..great value...it's ASUS, what else do you need to know.

Verdict is still out
Comment:
I bought this board for 2 reasons, it's supposed to support hardware virtualization (AMD-V) and 16GB of RAM. So far it does neither. I bought 16GB of Kingston(4x4GB) 1066, DDR3, ECC. The board manual states that it supports the memory type but not the specific model. It's not on the QVL. In fact, there's no 16GB memory setup on the QLV. Don't bother getting the board if you need 16GB of RAM. The other problem is virtualization. The board and CPU are supposed to support it but the AMD tools state that virtualization is not enabled or supported. Maybe this will be fixed by a bios update (and the RAM as well). Hyper-V does install and VMs run but the performance is the same or a bit worse than my old opteron boards. This may be a great board for gamers but it's not a cheap path to 16GB of RAM.

Beautifully made! but can't rate performance now..
Comment:
Since last month, I've been researching an affordable and a good motherboard for the PC I'm building: I've checked both Intel and AMD motherboards and compared the loaded new features. It's obvious that AMD satisfies a customer's need better than Intel. Awesome features and cutting-edge technology for a low price? Who can resist good quality and low-cost products with satisfying features? Well, no one can. I was looking for both HDMI and DVI ports, the new eSATA port, HD audio qualitity connectivity, the latest motherboard with the "All-in-One" features, DDR3 compatibility, HD video PCI card slots (PCIe 2.0), an up-to-date CPU, a board that comes with the lastest and reliable features, and I've found them on the ASUS M4A78T-E Motherboard - AMD 790GX. AMD seems to have it all.
