ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: None.

Pros: Cheap and effective
Comment:
Works great for the price. Haven't had any trouble with it since I purchased it. Installed very easily and fit into my case nicely. You get what you pay for, this is a good board for the price.

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: no sata 6gb/s (though most hdd won't even saturate the sata 3gb/s)no usb3.0 (but to this day it's not widely used at all)

Pros: 2 pciex16 (x16 single and x8 dual) great for crossfirex setuponboard graphics is alrightan asus board usually means good build quality
Comment:
I bought this board mainly because of the 2 pciex16 slots for my crossfire setup. An important thing to note is that the 2 slots will run at x8 when used simultaneously i.e. CF/sli. most boards around the same price with 2 pciex16 slots will actually run at x4 speed when used simultaneously. These boards kinda lie about its crossfire-readiness, the x4 speed will bottleneck performance gained by crossfire. while x8 speed doesn't really. (You can google for tomshardware article on this)fully dual x16 speed only comes from really high end mobos.I also like the igp radeon hd 3300, it lets me play starcraft2 for now while I'm waiting for the radeon 6000 series to come out (oct22)

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: None

Pros: CheapNice features
Comment:
Really good value in an AM3 board. Got it mainly because it was an ATX board with onboard video (super budget build). I can even get a good overclock out of it, which is a plus for a low-price unit (Athlon II X2 250 c3.6GHz)! This review was modfied by poster @ 10-07-10 06:02 PM

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: - Poor auto RAM overclocking- No PS-2 Mouse Port

Pros: - Excellent connectivity.- Sleek Heatsinks- Cheap (Especially when price checked on a good day)- Good over-clocking safeties
Comment:
Overall a good board. Cheap, effective, and good looking.Good, cheap, choice for matching with an old nVidia card. My GTX 275 works VERY well, and out paces a friends 285. (OS setup factors in a bit.)I wouldn't reccomend it right now, as newer stuff has come out. This doesn't come with USB 3, so go for something that includes that.

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: Broken USB. Started to install new usb peripherals like printers' scanner and usb sticks and it would crash the rig hard not being able to reboot. Windows repair does not work. Windows restore wouldnt work most time and often to reimage the drive. latest bioses/driver reinstall cmos reset dont help. I now avoid any use of usb peripherals or bios changes or any peripheral add ons with the rig outside the mouse and basic printer. Adding usb pci expansion card caused same major boot up issue.

Pros: Seemed stable with original install.
Comment:
Asus offered to fix via rma but thats downtime on the current only one rig I wont have. They cant send me a new mobo as they are out of stock apparently. Its now being replaced by the 890 gen mobos and reviews of those are also problematic... Im not sure id blame asus moreso than amd chipsetsdrivers at this point... Many who've tried sending it for fix didnt get the result hoped for so constant shipping of a cheapo mobo makes no sense. This is the second usb problematic mobo from asus after my previous setup with an a8r-mvp so I will try another brand next time.

ASUS M4A78T-E ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: I needed an matx case, so I could not use this motherboard. There has been a lot of debate between Asus and Gigabyte motherboards, personally I'd say the best bang for buck would be gigabyte. If you have some money to drop, get Asus.

Pros: Read the reviews, this motherboard had great reviews and comes with everything you need +more
Comment:
Originally, I wanted this motherboard to unlock a core in the AMD720. From my research, this was the recommended mobo. I would pick this up if you intend on unlocking cores or build a nice system with an ATX case.

Great MotherBoard
Comment:
Motherboard works great, just remember to update teh BIOS and enable the auto fan speed control and all should be quiet enough even with a stock CPU fan. Also if you are using the HDMI port just remember to overscan it so you get a true full screen.

Good bang for your buck
Comment:
I have had nothing but good come from this board paired with and AMD 965. I have been a long time asus consumer and this motherboard will keep me coming back. The only downfall is it doesn't have support for PCI-E 2.1 which is what is around the corner.

three strikes your out
Comment:
Ok i have officialy given up on this board after not one not two but three boards being defective. The 1st and 3rd even being defective in the same way no less. It would be no less than Einsteins definition of insanity to try a fourth time. I really gave Asus more than a fair chance to get me a working product and i must say i am very very dissapointed. Most people would have gone after a different brand after the 2nd defect. It ain't my hardware configuration either the cpu and ram are both good i checked them out plus i got ram that very specficly matched the recomended bus speeds even. I would say buy this board at your own risk of time and effort. Maybe it is a sheer matter of luck maybe not i just know i gave the manufactuer THREE trys. I used to think of ASUS as a quality manufactuerer but now i am not so sure. Gave a 1 for performance because a paper weight does not perform very well........

Works Perfect
Comment:
Used for third build, second asus used, first asus A8V deluxe 939 CPU still works perfect. In my anxious hurry to build system I sat on the board with heat sink fan and ram installed. It still worked perfect. In fact this build turned out to be the best one yet with heat sink and case used. Thought it would'nt be because of bad reviews on heat sink, case, mother board etc. You can't rely on reviews all the time. If your haveing problems with the board it more than likely is a setting in BIOS that will take care of the problem. I know very well the BIOS is not my favorite place to be either and wish I new more of it. I do agree ASUS customer service help is usless. Its a dam shame because they do make good boards. Customer service is not good everywhere now. Good luck with your build its still fun and an accomplishment.

Warrranty not honored
Comment:
The MB lasted 8 months...It come with a warranty for 3 years, yea right, try to get a replacement as I did. First, it's an act of Congress to get the right person to speak to and then they want to send you a bios chip which I knew was not the problem, then they tell me to send the MB for repae. I am out a computer till they get it repaired. They will not just send a new one to replace the old one, that would be too easy and standard customer service. So, if yours goes out, your out and down not the maker of this board. My last A. board.

Maybe I'm Just Lucky
Comment:
To start off, this is my 3rd asus motherboard (I know that makes me rather n00b compared to many computer builders) All have worked flawlessly out of the box, I see many complaints about each one I have purchased, all of them from tigerdirect I am not normally a lucky person, but maybe this is an exception to the normal rule for me. This motherboard I had trouble with getting an SATA hd and SATA dvd drive at first but that was my fault as I did read that you had to install windows XP sp1 or greater to get them to work properly. Luckily I have quite a few XP discs laying around, and as previously stated the manual did say it wouldnt work till I installed XP and I am more than willing to admit that was my fault for not doing it right. Well I know it is rather lengthy, but I figured I should give ASUS some props and share my experiences with them.

wnat BSOD then this is your board
Comment:
This board is guaranteed to BSOD on you over and over. Just like the others have said. This is the 5th board i've had from asus and BSOD on all of them. Every kind of error you can think of. Not worth your time or the hassle.

Don't waste your time and money
Comment:
As Man Toot said below, this board is a complete waste of your time. I loaded windows 7 on my HD and within a few weeks, my system started BSOD'ing also. Tested my HD, Memory, PSU, GPU all checked out fine. This motherboard has made my life miserable and it has been guaranteed to BSOD when i try to play any game for more than a few minutes. And it's not just 1 type of BSOD. Every type imaginable. Spent the last week trying to locate the sorce... turns out it was the mobo.

bought 2 of these. 1 of the 2 was DOA but it might have been manhandled a little during shipping. waiting for the replacement. in the mean time the other is working fine with an AMD Phenom II X4 965 and 4GB of Corsair DDR3 1333MHz RAM.

Not Very Good
Comment:
I have been trying to keep this system running ever since I bought this motherboard back in February. I have installed Windows7 64-bit with 8G of RAM. It usually Blue-Screens within 10 to 30 minutes after I start it up. I have tested the memory with 3 different programs, all report no problems. I have run video tests on the video card, in other systems as well, with no problems found. I have tried Safe-Mode tests, it Blue-Screens there, too. I have reloaded the operating system several times with no differences. I have tried loading just minimal drivers. It all seems to boil down to running Windows7 64-bit on this motherboard is NOT a good idea.

Great board, great value
Comment:
This is absolutely a great board. It can play demanding games like crysis out of the box! I've paired this with the Phenom II X4 955BE. Oh and plays FULL HD movies (blu-ray rips) without ANY hiccups. So it's just an amazing value for someone who wants to wait and buy a Graphics card later. This things on-board GPU (Rad 3300) is one of the fastest on-board GPU's on the market and it FLIES!

Easy to setup but runs to hot
Comment:
This motherboard-CPU combo was a good deal, runs very fast! My only compaint is not only the temp at which it runs but the CPU fan noise. It is LOUD. Do yourself a favor and buy a new heatsink-fan that will keep it running cool and not sound like a small airplane is inside your PC.

Love it!
Comment:
After much research, I put this in my first system. I couldn't be more pleased. I wanted to keep my costs down in case I screwed anything up and had to buy another part. Yet, I wanted a mobo that would be up to date. It figures I could've had a rebate if I'd waited 2 more weeks but it's still worth it.
