Tons of capabilities, core unlock and overclocking. There is a SLIGHT detail about connecting the power that it doesn't mention in the set up instructions, had to go to the troubleshooting section of the manual to come across out why it wasn't booting. (I believe that this is why some people find it DOA... they haven't plugged in one thing that needed to be).DVI out on the MB didn't work... could be that it is defaulting to the Video Card's DVI out, but I haven't gotten the MB's DVI it to work. Alright, what happens is that if you don't have a specific energy adapter plugged in (and this is Following you already plug in the 24 pin energy adapter), it will turn on, fans will run, lights will blink, but the MB will NOT BOOT!What I located was wrong is that there is Another energy adapter you Need to plug in ahead of it will boot!Look at the 3rd image on the web page for this product. Notice the annotations. Look for the one labeled Ŝ-pin CPU power connector". You Need to plug that in from your power supply prior to the MB will boot!I know it sounds like a no-brainer, duh your CPU requirements energy, but this motherboard does NOT come with a set-up guide and this was my initially pc build.

Strong efficiency with built in graphic. Mine scores 4.5 on Win7 Graphic/Game score. Spending budget was my concern so saving dollars on graphic card assisted me a lot. I am not playing graphic hefty games (at this point..) so no difficulty with on board graphic card. Received defective motherboard initially. Power came up but it failed to POST. RMA went smoothly without having an situation and received new one particular speedy. New one particular functions with out difficulty.Aggravation. Additional ป.50 to ship back. Extremely effortless to install, wonderful instruction manual, makes a good game & graphics machine. The gloss blue heat sinks look cool. One tiny nit - the manual was slightly vague about which simm slots to use. We bought this as aspect of an ASUS/AMD set to create my daughter a game machine for Xmas. The instruction manual was the greatest I've seen in years - clear stage by step, and even had the pin-out specifics for all plugs. When the power supply got flakey we diagnosed it with the Mobo manual. We installed the recommended drivers and the technique came proper up. We loaded numerous Graphics intensive games which won't play on her laptop, and they screamed right along. No hangs or glitches, excellent play. We didn't use the turbo/overclock characteristics, and no specific drivers - I'm not even certain if the crossfire function is enabled. It performs so nicely we don't want to mess with it. Later on we attempted loading up some paint programs, and these work far better also - big brushes which gave the laptop difficulties operate smoothly, and we can resize & pan with no noticeable lag. It seems this system does anything graphics-associated very well.

-1090t Phenom II X6 processor is recognized with out obtaining to update bios. -Fast and basic installation, only a couple of drivers are required to be loaded from the disc (i.e. ethernet)-AI Suite II is rather good if you like getting in a position to overclock or check your process's vitals, all in one location.- Turbo Unlocker that is integrated in the computer software is fairly considerably overclocking for dummies.-Everything on the board is labeled, and if you will need help the manual is surprisingly beneficial Not 890FX Chipset? Only true benefits to getting the 890FX chipset compared to the 880G Chipset (the 1 on this motherboard) are the far more lanes for pci-e and also you get sata III Ɩgb/s). You only advantage from the much more pci-e lanes if you are running crossfire with multiple graphics cards. Sata III is great only if you are running compatible ssd's or hdd's. If you don't plan on making use of a single of those functions, you can conserve oneself the dollars and go with a 880G chipset board like this one particular.

I had my old motherboard out and this a single in spot in about an hour. Numerous settings to play about with in the BIOS. As usual with this line of boards, the layout performs exceedingly properly for me, with only a minor situation with the area of the SATA ports and my gigantic oversized novelty video card. It does not actually interfere with the operation in any way... I just have a tendency to be overly nervous in regards to the SATA cables given that I snapped the connector off my WD Raptor. The only con I can think of is some issues with the microphone port on the sound card that I have had with my headset. It has trouble with my voice if I do not speak with at least a decently loud volume (normal conversation tone in a group of folks) but if I speak any softer then that at all it tends to become unrecognizable as speech. This might be a dilemma exclusive to me, but is hardly a considerable problem. Most headsets now are USB anyway. I only ran into a single challenge with the chipset driver acting odd. This is not the fault of the motherboard or the driver, but rather an situation with windows 7. I did not use a clean set up... in truth I didn't even uninstall the old drivers. My old motherboard was a precursor to this a single but had different chipset anyway. Nevertheless, it only took me about an hour and a half to figure the challenge out total. So it's nevertheless the fastest I've ever swapped one particular of these factors out.

- I admit my tech understanding is low, but my USB mouse/keyboard worked just fine in my setup as opposed to the reviewer under.- Detailed instructions created everything effortless on set up for a new builder such as myself. - two USB 3. slots- Onboard audio is just fine for a basic two. speakers/headphones setup.- General, excellent functions for the price - The IO shield is indeed a discomfort. For anybody with an AMD Black Edition CPU, you likely that they have an unlocked multiplier. I spent a long time attempting to locate the "CPU multiplier" setting in the BIOS. Instead it's termed the "CPU Ratio" on this 1 I guess. Just form in the multiplier number you want for your overclock. Possibly most people know this but I didnt...

Wonderful performance if you know how to play with both the bios and the TurboV EVO software package collectively (you need to alter the bios whilst TurboV is booting to force it to greater speeds.) I am operating a 1090t @ four.2Ghz stable with this board. No one tends to make a drive that can transfer data @ 3Gb/s yet so the larger transfer speeds can\'t yet be experienced.

Fantastic style, a lot of SATA slots, brilliant prospective for upgrading, USB 3., lots and lots of USB slots, AM3 slot, two PCI-E slots, fairly good integrated graphics card and a fantastic core unlocking tool. Flimsy connections here and there, some placements could've been far better, makes issues a small tight but largely believe it could be my mid tower Antec Case. Only had to do minimal BIOS work to turn my Phenom II x2 BE 560 3.3GHz into a wicked Quad Core. Made my beneath common HDD work even even though it was a bad egg and lots of space for more hardware. Fantastic searching board all around even though.

very first time setup was a breeze, like, no setup. it just booted on up and didn't have to manually adjust something. this is a very first for me. i'm applied to having to tweak memory timings and voltages, and cpu clocks to match in order to get a stable runnin process with each and every new create.stable tiny board, got onboard graphics incase you ever have video card probs and will need to difficulty shoot. a lot of possibilities in bios, displays actual voltage outputs in bios, which is a godsent. overclocking is easy, haven't gotten also far into that but. great visual look, :P if you're into that. a lot of fan connectors on the mb, plenty of usb dongle plugs, a lot of expansion slots, moderate quantity of sata plugs. terrible i/o shield. last mb i got from asus was clean cut with no metal tabs and had a soft protective backing (p5n-d) northbridge runs a tiny hot, but cpu is water cooled with that corsair h50 idiot proof water cooler. so there's no air blowing across it except from the side panel fan and general case airflow. dissapointed no nb fan was integrated.bells and whistles are just that, that ez overclock or turbo, whatever it's known as, and the coreunlocker are additional just for show, something with regards to them can be performed in bios... which is actually a great thing, doesn't alter the reality that they added parts that are un-necessary. far more stuff to burn up/break :Pcompletely bare minimun accessories. each and every other board i've gotten from these guys came with boatloads of stuff to use. cables out the yinyang, usb dongles, firewire dongles, exterior sata dongles, sli/crossfire cables. but that implies i got plenty of spare parts layin about. this is my initial amd board, i'm def satisfied with it. upgraded from the p5n-d with four gigs of 800mhz ddr2/ and a 2.eight intel dual core overclocked to four.0ghz. I know i'm not going to get the same overclocking possible with amd, but the cost reflects that.i'm running phenom II x4 965 three.four ghzand 8 gigs ƒx4) corsair xms2 1600mhz ddr3went from running battlefied undesirable business on high/med in directx9 mode no aa no af and it getting a tiny studdery at times to operating it directx10 highest graphics, highest aa and af. and it becoming butter smooth.exact same graphics card, geforce gtx 400thats probly the most graphics intesive game i play that i can make reference to.i'll be confident to update with any overclocking matters as soon as i start off on that.

Decided on this board for a custom make for somebody. My initial time employing an ASUS board, as effectively. Factor fired up 1st attempt without challenge. Lots of BIOS functions. Newegg shipping is godly as usual. :) ? Considering that my initial expertise with an ASUS board went so well, I'll be sticking with them in future builds. Beautiful board, brilliant functions, tons of overclocking possibilities. Be certain to visit asus.com and grab the most current BIOS, which is version 0306 at the moment. Used his in my very first build and I purchased this based on Anandtech's budget gaming guide. Fairly effortless to set up. Has a bunch of capabilities and every thing I would will need. Built in graphics is a great addition. Type of challenging acquiring the board oriented with the I/O shield but that's seriously a minor issue in the grand scheme of points.

Great for overclocking, good amount of characteristics. This is absolutely a high-finish middle range motherboard. I have a 1090T in it and it runs really quickly. I run a video editing method and this motherboard performs superior, not excellent, but great sufficient for HD editing. Fantastic value for what you get. This is not the finest AM3 motherboard that ASUS has to provide.

Price tag, excellent, I/O ports Flimsy/odd port protector I'm really loving this mobo, nonetheless the set up into my chassis was somewhat challenging due to the weird port protector. It's flimsy metal and doesn't really have any guidelines as to regardless of whether you are supposed to bend the tiny metal brackets or leave them as is. I ended up leaving them as is and it worked out for me.

Worked great soon as I figured out why it wasn't posting, which was my fault. Solid really feel to the board. Ram slots have a definite 'click' that you can feel when the ram gets seated all the way. What looks like an simple core unlocker system, have read that it is solid and simple and functions with my cpu, haven't tried it yet due to the fact, frankly, it is all working lots fast for me so far and I don't really feel the require to mess with it however. Will try in a although and might edit this if I encounter problems. Had troubles with the CPU slot, very first attempt I popped in my cpu and latched the bar down, place on my heatsink, and so on and then spent the far better element of 2 weeks trying to figure out why it wouldnt POST. Finally went to pull the cpu (getting ready to clear the whole mobo to rma it) and the cpu popped out as i pulled the heatsink. So i somehow managed to lock the cpu bar down with out seating the chip in all the way. Wasn't conscious that was even attainable (but I am new to this).RAM slots are close to the cpu, my heatsink comes true close to touching the 1st stick of ram. Like can't slide a dime among them. Not a big con, it operates out ok, but still, a quarter inch a lot more and it would be a non challenge.I/O shield was a total discomfort. Cheap metal, the little tabs on the inside had been overly abundant. Ended up just chucking it since I was about one hour in on just trying to get it on correctly and had jabbed those little tabs below just about just about every fingernail on each hand. All in all a very good board (and this is based solely off of my web research, this is my 1st actual solo create). All my stuff worked very first attempt (after figuring out my cpu stupidity). My create: (was going for price range friendly and somewhat gaming capable)this moboAMD Phenom II x2 555 calisto (can unlock to 4 cores, havent tried yet though, just the 2 are operating excellent so far)two sticks Mushkin 2g 1333two sticks G.
