This is a great AM3 board for any gamer, overclocker, or enthusiast. In contrast to what some of the other reviewers have said, this board has tons and tons of overclocking functions. In reality it runs my 1090T at 4.2Ghz just fine with water cooling. I like the reality that the DIMM slots alternate so there is a gap in between DIMM's when only 2 are installed for superior cooling. The EPS12v connector provides superior energy to CPU and grants superior voltage. The PCIe slots are in a wonderful layout for CrossFire setups, though the grey slot is only x4 and not excellent for high-end CFX setup. The addition of SATA 6Gb/s and USB 3. is good and functions effectively with my OCZ Vertex 2 SSD. Comes with a lot of quality SATA cables to my surprise but not substantially else. The value tag is also really reasonable for such a board. The iGPU (HD4250) is good on this board and must satisfy most user's requirements. There is a big quantity of connectivity on the I/O panel generating this board ideal for all makes use of. There's only a few items that bother me about this board. I noticed some quite negative CPU vdroop when at full load of about .2v amongst idle and load at 1.51v vCore. Individuals noted that the MOSFET's get quite hot so I rigged up a 40mm chipset fan and they've been running ӱC above ambient. The northbridge also runs a little hot, so one more 40mm chipset fan was added to aid in its cooling and it only gets to about 32C. All round this board is wonderful, but not great. I only give five stars to products that blow me away, and though this board is close, the vdroop, and insufficient cooling were slight troubles. Right here's my setup:AMD PhenomII 1090T @ 4.2Ghz 鴿Mhz x 16.5) with 1.51vASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3OCZ Vertex two 60GB + Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB2x 2GB Kingston HyperX @ 1700Mhz Cas9MCR320-QP + D-Tek Fusion + MCP355 water cooling loop.P.S. for these of you without unlocked multiplier seeking to overclock by means of HTRef on this board, mine had not difficulty going 315Mhz+

Ive constantly stood by asus and continue to do so.... dont be discouraged by the few "doa" testimonials... these are the exception and all businesses have a % that are expected to malfunction... most of the time it is harm performed during shipment or by other "non-asus" signifies... this is a good quality board at a reasonable price... GET IT! none just an FYI... im not a large fan of crossfire so it does not bother me, but this does have two PCI-E slots, but one particular is X16, and the other is X4... not the excellent crossfire board, but i only run 1 very good card so it cant be beat for these requirements

Looks wonderful, operates great. Enjoy it. None. If you strategy to do any gaming on this board then be ready to acquire a video card. The on board card is not powerful sufficient. That's ok I knew it going in I just wanted an onboard video card for back up. Great purchase honestly.I'm running it with AMD phenom II x4 black edition 965 works great together. Lots of configuration possibilities. Straightforward overclocking. Onboard video. RAID. EPU does absolutely nothing but BSOD. Conceptually, this is an great function, but the implementation is horrible. I am now obtaining lots of users possessing the identical difficulties. WinDBG points directly to EPU.exe. I get really disappointed when a item manufacturer advertises a feature and then it doesn't operate as advertised. EPU is now worthless. Not making use of it makes the technique 3 instances louder, but I can't trade that for BSODs. For this cause, I give two eggs because all the other characteristics of the board appear to function. -3 for marketing a feature that doesn't perform.

The switches for unlocking the further cores is a breeze and fairly helpful. It comes with cables for five sata devices, i.e. HDD, disk drive. If you have a bottom mounted PSU the fourǞ pin energy cable that hooks up to the MOBO may not reach i know my didnt but all you will need to do is get a cable extension and difficulty sovled.

Excellent mother board, TONS of bios attributes and settings. Clock frequencies, voltages, settings, in all probability additional than you'll even want to deal with. For once a manual that is actually helpful. Didn't detect my RAM's stock settings, but was extremely easy to manually transform them to the correct voltage and clocks. Can't wait until I can get a reasonably priced SATA 6GB/sec SSD raid array and test these speeds. I tried to use the core unlocker but I couldn't get my fourth core stable, no biggy as the triple core is lots quick for my needs.

it came on time, box was in good shape DOA like I said. I sent it back for a new a single thanks to newegg. but i wish i wouldn't have to wait as long as i will will need to. Costumer service couldn't wait to tell me i necessary to RMA the item at my expense - good thing newegg provides 30 day warranty. I often go with ASUS goods when it comes to motherboards but if this second one particular comes DOA you can say i will by no means touch an additional ASUS procuct once more.

All round, incredibly impressed with this setup. It seriously is a high quality priced, higher overall performance MoBo. Plenty of selections to tweak your method as you please. It unlocked my AMD Phen II 555 dual core to quad core with no challenges. The CPU runs good! Easy overclock capability. Cross Fire ready. What more could you ask for? Zero If you obtain an aftermarkert oversized CPU cooler, you will most probably only be in a position to utilize 3 of the 4 DIMM slots as I did. Ideal setup would be two sticks at four gig each.

Replaced Intel P965 motherboard with this following attempting to unlock a Phenom II X2 555BE to get a inexpensive quad. The MSI motherboard didn't unlock it, so I purchased a 955BE on sale for a decent value and bought this motherboard to attempt again as I had read that Asus could unlock cores one particular at a time. It did and I have a great performing X3. It was a quite basic operation on the Asus (on the MSI also seriously, but with a undesirable core I couldn't unlock without having black screen no boot). Front panel connections are super effortless with the block you plug into initial and then connect all at as soon as. Very nice. Ought to be the norm. It doesn't have an audio connector for my old cd drive (IDE) to plug in, but I'm going to attempt to run a CD digitally and see if it operates. If not I'll just rip my CDs down to files. Not seriously a con, they simply don't have the connection any longer as it's going obsolete. I'm a gigabyte purchaser, but I decided to attempt MSI and Asus to see the state of the competitors. They are incredibly properly made and genuinely I can't uncover any deal breakers with any of them. My older Gigabyte boards are a bit versatile for my taste compared to these. Asus is the prettiest board I've had by far, but I don't open the case often, so that's not a big deal for me.

The board may well not be an EVGA but for the price tag you're acquiring a excellent MB. Completely effortless install. Excellent response and really ample space (full ATX). Adore the SATA 6. Gb/s. And ample internal connectors which includes USB 2. (though USB 3. is only on the back panel). And they give you two cables each and every for SATA three. Gb/s and SATA 6. Gb/s each of which function equally well of the exact same MB ports.Eco friendly -- It even shuts down the MB immediately after a period with no CPU activity. With a hit on the Start off button, comes right back with the logon screen for Win 7 (still can't figure out how it's doing that with no shutting down the OS). Nice power cost savings. The ASUS ExpressGate software program. One more level of delay in finding the program up and operating. Installed it by accident, now have to figure out how to get rid of it. Oh, welllll! Lastly decided it was time to retire my trusty Socket 7 (a choice that was assisted along by a split water pipe). Wanted to stay with ASUS (been pleased with all I've owned or installed in the previous) and get a bit ahead of the curve with SATA 6. Gb/s and USB three.0Gb/s. Coupled it with an AMD Phemon II X4 910e and eight GB of G.Skill Eco series DDR3 SDRAM 1333.

Really customizable board. You can go by way of the bios and make the modifications or if you like you can use the ASUS supplied computer software if you are unsure of what to do.
