Nice layout in particular more than my preceding ASUS. Great job at keeping fans at low rpm at all operating functions for quieter case buzz. Not a fan of the front USB pin placement. Preceding ASUS board had them closer to the "front" of the board (nearest the front of the case). This one particular has them additional back, but it's not that massive of a deal. Good improvement over preceding board in not possessing the massive copper heat sink running to the southbridge - which ran directly under my GPU and was undoubtedly heating it up from the radiant heat from the copper. GPU has been substantially quieter because install. Anything went together nicely. Very advised.

All of the extras on this board. Everything. POST doesn't operate. Referred to as Asus. They had me take out the RAM and turn it back on. No beeps. Speaker is installed appropriately. CPU installed properly. No error LED's. Acts like it's gonna work, but just runs with nothing happening. Even with all of the nice extras, this board just isn't worth the grief and funds. Try something else, you have a 30% chance at a dead board when you order this. I was looking at that good Gigabyte... what a shame. I'll get a additional expert opinion. If that doesn't perform I'll RMA the board initially, processor second, then I'll get a refund if all of that doesn't operate and go for that Gigabyte I was eyeing.

I would advocate inspecting your IDE pins just before you install it into your case. Took me like 30 minutes to bend them back.^Not really worth taking off an egg, even though I am disappointed that it came like that out of the box. Easy create, lots of space around elements to make installing CPU/heatsink and RAM straightforward (especially if your case has a slide-out motherboard tray). Booted up fine and got Windows installed pretty quick as soon as I overcame an problem with the energy (detailed in other thoughts).Has debugging lights on motherboard to assist you figure out complications when it won't boot. These are close to the CPU, RAM and video cards. When a single is lit, there's a difficulty with that component. None After installing elements and plugging in energy and button cords, the CPU light remained lit and would not post. I Googled it and other folks had the very same issue and mentioned that their board either came with no BIOS or an outdated a single that did not assistance their CPU. Fearing that was the problem, I was dreading having to RMA it. Then I noticed the 4-pin power connector from my energy supply was not plugged in. It plugs in close to the PS2 ports. Following plugging that in, system POSTed and got me to the Windows set up. Smooth sailing from there.

Fits nicely in a mid ATX case, BIOS is uncomplicated to configure with nice presets, incredibly rapidly and stable. Runs wonderful appropriate out of the box. No cons... other than it doesn't come with a case sticker. Operating dual Radeon 5850's in CrossFire, with an AMD Phenom II 1090T, and this board really provides me the freedom to overclock it all.

Board has a fantastic layout, lots of space amongst the two PCI-E slots for the alternative of using two Enormous crossfired video cards (which I do, Sapphire 6970's). Board runs very cool. Would be nice if the furniture was all black instead of blue. The board has two power connectors that are miles apart. There are only two PCI-E slots; realized I would have preffered three immediately after install and would have payed the additional dollars for it. I play ArmA 2, and my program couldn't manage the max video settings devoid of this board on the team!

I have had this board for really some time now and I have been absolutely nothing but impressed. It is one of ASUS's couple of accurate dual x16 PCIe boards for AMD and the value point isn't all that terrible taking into consideration you're also obtaining SATA III and USB three. to boot. Board is incredibly well laid out and the POST lights are a wonderful help with troubleshooting. None so far. Have an AMD Phenom II X4 965 inside that is clocked up to four.0GHz without a dilemma. RAM is also clocked up to about 1400 MHz. BIOS is nicely place together and tends to make everything incredibly straightforward. Also, onboard RAID is great. At the moment running 2x WD Black in a stripe.

Overall not a bad board, for an common user like me! if you are seriously into tech, id say read my cons just before you make your decesion...sata 6gbs is quicker, thanks for the cool locking 6gbs sata cables! first off the bios need to be updated, dont rely on the asus windows software program to pull the up to date file from the online it need to be flashed from file, ez flash bios doesent perform either. In bios sata ought to be changed from auto to 6gbs to attain true 6gbs transfer rate. You should install all drivers individually from the support cd, for the usb three., and the raid driver, and the lan driver... for a high finish board i expected a beter assistance cd. Dont bother with the core unlocker or the turbo key switches, they lead to overclocking failure! The very same goes for asus's computer software that does the very same point! The board layout isint that wonderful, the sata connectors are blocked if you have a double size video card in the outer x16 slot it must be removed to acess sata cables in my mid tower case. (this would be easier in a full tower case!) When you run a raid config you must dedicate 4 of your 6 sata ports! so be warned! im running two wd 6gbs caviar black 1tb in raid with a wd 320 gb sata3g,ide a cheapo dvd burner, amd 1090t black, 4x4g ddr3 1333 kingston, scythe fan controller with 3 120mm scythe 110 cfm fans and temperature probes, two msi 6850 oc edition in crossfire x, rocketfish 1000w gaming psu, coller master elite mid tower case.

Excellent Cost. USB 3.. Sata 6GB. LED Indicators on the board (amazing if a thing isn't working adequately). Overclocking is really user-friendly. As soon as almost everything was installed and adjusted, it's been working fantastic! Expect some unfriendly crashes unless you've gone by way of a big check-list to make certain almost everything is aligned, i.e. Chip Voltage, DRAM Frequency, SATA 6Ǚgb (adjusted in Bios), and all your drivers. I reccomend it for your first build, but make certain you have some help. The board installed nicely. 1st start-up didn't work due to the fact it didn't like all 16g of RAM off the bat. Took out all but 4g and it worked. My Setup:AMD Phenom II X6 1100T three.3GHz (Stable at 3.88ghz OC)ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 AM3 MotherboardCORSAIR XMS 16GB Ɣ x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600PowerColor AX6850 1GB Radeon HD 6850 256-bitCORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W Power ProvideCritical RealSSD C300 64GB SATA III (SSD)Western Digital 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/sWindows 7 Residence Premium - Full

None so far Extremely tiny board, quite crammed and limited in space. Wasn't properly developed overall. I've got tiny hands and tons of cuts from placing issues on this board.Fault component appropriate off the bat. Not only was this a discomfort to place together simply because of the lack of space, but it was a Bad BOARD! Which signifies I have to take it apart and send it back. Nicely, I can't give an truthful opinion on this board because I have but to knowledge it, but because it began off horribly it will generally be a 3 egg in my book.

Very nice motherboard with lots of features for the money, if not for the USB problem...see Cons! Motherboard drops video signal whenever you touch ANY of the front panel USB connectors. I replaced the front panel on my CM Stacker and Nonetheless have the difficulty. Asus help wants to blame anything EXCEPT the motherboard. There is a grounding issue with this board. Check out some of the laptop forums, this is a widespread issue with this board. I will be calling Asus back Monday and attempting to get rid of this board. Individuals are reporting that even IF they can get Asus to RMA the board, that the replacement boards are undertaking the similar factor. As stated, it appears that this board has a style flaw and has some critical grounding difficulties.

I'm actually impressed with this motherboard. It has lots of functions and it helped me diagnose a couple of difficulties when receiving this construct up and running. I had a couple problems with this motherboard. When I initial built my comp I had installed the motherboard in the case and put the video card in. When I got my aftermarket CPU cooler, obviously I had to uninstall anything mainly because it needed a backplate. When I went to pull my 8800ultra out of the top PCI-E socket, I had lots of troubles and eventually pulled some pins out from the socket, rendering the socket useless. I moved the video card down to the other socket and every little thing has been running stable for 2 weeks. I guess it's a great issue that I'll in no way be going SLI. I just want persons to don\'t forget to be careful pulling large video cards out of the PCI-E sockets. I didn't RMA the board mainly because this concern virtually doesn't impact me.All in all, great stable motherboard, specially for how substantially tinkering it went by means of in the making process.

Lowish value for the truth it supports x16 x16 xfire. The layout of the board is superb barring that the RAM is fairly close to the CPU.I haven't had a single fault with this mobo, even though, I have yet to extend that concept to OC'ing. Said that it will support the new Bulldozer CPUs coming out in the next couple of months. The CPU and RAM distance isn't really great. Some aftermarket coolers will result in problems with RAM that has massive heat sinks. The mem-ok function is amazing, but be sure to only put a single stick in for initial boot. She will not boot with more. Would advocate. Very good job Asus.

Begins up OK not DOA. Pretty great packaging and it looked like one more decent item from ASUS. 1.) My highest concern and finally the deal brealer on this board that made me request a RMA is the instability with the OCZ revodrive and the lack of support in resolving it from either vendor.2.) CPU fan error! I could never get this concern resolved. ASUS assistance of little support. Fan was spinninf fine BIOS indicated speed varied fro to 19600 rpm. but the speed was sonstant at about 1300 rpm.three.) The clearance for fans amongst the DIMM and the cooling fins on the otherside of the CPU mount is inadequate to put the channel memory module in for most coolers. Genuinely no reason for this. This is the initial ASUS board I have ever returned right after 8 or 9 builds utilizing ASUS boards more than the years. I just couldn't deal with the lack of support from ASUS any longer in this regard. ASUS left me with no thought when if ever the Revodrive problem would be resolved not to mention the other issues. I have enjoyed their products more than the years but this has tarnished my opinion of their quality.

Pros:-Price; Got for 赅 but at an additional site.-Attributes; USB3, Overclocking, -Bios Options-Layout-Upgradable – It’s Bulldozer compatible. Could only mount my Corsair A70 in North/South rather than East/West to vent out back of case. My Cm 690 is vented so this wasn’t a issue in the finish. Not really a con but make confident you update your BIOS. Some users have not been in a position to use their sata DVD/RW’s unless set to IDE and this appeared to be the very same for me. it was painless for me and I updated through Windows with out a hitch just before I installed something. My second build with an Asus board. I debated this and a related Gigabyte board but Asus reliability won out. I also wanted a thing a little ‘future proof’. I’m not really a gamer but I lately purchased an HD Camcorder and converting video was a thing I necessary. Overall, this board has been a very pleasant surprise. I’ve been utilizing it for a month and have performed stress testing on CPU, HDD’s and Graphics and no issues. I didn’t use the CD at all as Win 7 installed most drivers. The only issue I had was with a USB controller it did not recognize correctly and I swiftly took care of that myself with drivers from the Asus internet web site.AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BEASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB 1600 / 12800Corsair Force F60 SSDWD Caviar Black 1TB SATA3SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 5770Corsair A70 CPU Cooler Coolermaster 690 IIXFX Pro650W Core EditionSamsung SATA DVD Writer

Looks good, great specs Don't waste your cash getting motherboards on Newegg, if I'd have spent the extra ษ I could've bought this at a neighborhood computer shop and have had it that day and when it didn't function, just go take the son of a b tch back. Don't waste your income on here with motherboards unless your time isn't valuable. Second DOA motherboard from newegg, never going to get a motherboard from them once more.

If you want a high performance mobo with two PCIe x16 slots and 6Gb/s SATA but you don't want to shell out for a Crosshair, this is it. Fantastic attributes, 890FX is a good mature chipset, no onboard graphics to get in the way and add price. Software is excellent. I got this immediately after employing largely Gigabyte (Core 2 Duo and i7 builds) am really satisfied. Turbo Unlocker essentially gets you a Turbo Core like function, but not just for the six core Thubans. My quad core 965 gets boosted with 1 click. My Essential C300 SSD is taking advantage of the 6Gb/s SATA III. My Corsair XMS3 RAM ran at 1600 from the starting, no BIOS adjust needed. USB 3. is nice to have. I purchased this for inexpensive on fleabay and it actually shipped from the egg :) My massive Scythe Mugen 2 tower CPU cooler hangs more than the first RAM stick, barely fits. I knew this though so I didn't get tall RAM. Contrary to prior reviewers, mine does have two blue colored USB three. ports (and newegg's images show them too).
