Has dual 16x sli reset my bios on cold restarts, immediately after troubleshooting found out it was an problem with my dual Nvidia 460 gtx , Does operate with the 200 series and decrease, but seems some kind of error, even right after flashing the bios that causes the technique to erase all bios settings on reset. I RMA'd it and got a refund and went withMSI NF980-G65 AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI HDMIWhich functions great no troubles so far.I will not acquire Asus once again, to a lot of complications with motherboards from that firm I would suggest not shopping for this. and just go with the MSiversion. Be much less time Rma'ing it for a issue that as far as I have read on-line in diverse forums other individuals have had troubles with. You would believe a program created for Nvidia and sli, would operate with those elements.

SLI Help, Good layout, Good Possibilities Nvidia Help Drivers Blow! Final drivers had been updated in 2009 and I just updated to the newest BIOS from ASUS web page and now my technique hangs from boot for 35-45 seconds. I get Tearing and Random BSOD's only with my GTX 580 EVGA card, I just RMA'd that card mainly because I thought it was the difficulty. Here are my Specs:This BoardAM3 1090T 6 Proc4gig DDR3-1600 G-Ability Ripsaw120gig G-Ability SSDGTX 580 / Now GTX 465 Video CardBFG 1000watt PSUCoolerMaster HAF 922 SituationAll From NewEgg mainly because NewEgg Rocks. This will be my final Nvidia Chipset on a motherboard, and I am sad to say this as I have alway been a fan. The AMD Boards look to run greater with AMD's chipsets and Intel and AMD are not buddies significantly anymore so its going to be hard to get an Nvidia chipset on a motherboard. A lot more than likely my future gaming machines will all be Intels. I have a Core i7 950 and it blows this process away. But, cost for power AMD is often the greatest choice.

For you NOOBS making use of this board. Read the manual for what memory is compatible. Even if it doesnt say it in the manual it could nevertheless be compatible. Do not push the MEM OK button if you currently have compatible RAM. The Board will attempt to appropriate errors on the memory that are not there and give you blue screens. I have observed this on several evaluations. A single reviewer wrote " a combination of button mashing" no wonder your board doesn't work NOOB !! This board rocks and have noticed my computing encounter triple in speed. I am working with Vital ballistix tracers ddr3 10600 񡾵mhz) AMD 956 BE, EVGA GTX460SE, corsair 750 WATT Power provide, Inventive Xi-Fidelity gamer edition, and coolmaster 690 nvidia special edition case. Essential Ballistix tracers memory looks great simply because of the LED lights on them and you can get them in red, blue, and green LED lights. They make my case look sweet and have lifetime warranty and windows rates them 7.four out of 7.9. (This is for these who dont know what memory to use.) This Board does like Nvidia 460 GTX video cards. I bet the individual who wrote that didn't have the right power to run their card. No matter what 460gtx card you acquire , there is 1 sole fact and that is they are power hogs. They call for two six pin connectors which is alot of power and on prime of getting to power every thing else, MAKE Positive YOU HAVE Appropriate POWER !!!! MOST QUAD CORE AMD's USE AT LEAST 100Watts of power on total load. DONT PUSH MEM OK BUTTON WHEN YOU SET UP !!!! READ THE VENDOR LIST.( I Applied Crucial BALLISTIX TRACERS 10600񡾵MHZ) MEMORY) ...... IF YOU PUSH THE MEM OK BUTTON ON Currently COMPATIBLE RAM YOU WILL GET BLUE SCREENS!!!! DONT PUSH THE CORE UNLOCKER BUTTON ON Already UNLOCKED PROCESSORS LIKE (AMD BLACK EDITION). THE CORES ARE Currently UNLOCKED !!!!! YOU WILL GET BLUE SCREENS IF YOU PUSH THE BUTTON ON AN Currently UNLOCKED PROCESSOR !!! THERE ARE Few AMD'S THAT DO HAVE Added CORES TO UNLOCK BUT DO YOUR Analysis ON YOUR PROCESSOR Before PUSHING THAT UNLOCK BUTTON !!!! Once more MAKE Confident YOU HAVE Suitable POWER Provide 麘 WATTS Should BE Far more THEN Sufficient FOR A DECENT GAMING Technique) !!! THIS IS A DDR 3 BOARD SO WILL NOT Operate WITH DDR2 MEMORY . USE YOUR BRAINS AND YOUR Study TOOLS Properly AND YOU WILL HAVE NO Difficulties !!! I HAVE In no way HAD AN Problem WITH ASUS (a defective board does occur, not every single item is great, recall that, don't whine just RMA) .

I actually like it so far... I was reading critiques about it and some folks had been possessing difficulties on initial boot, BSD's, and other difficulties, but I installed the board and every little thing else and it fired up initial time and has been operating good.I honestly have to say that I have never had an problem with a Asus item, and I have built a few systems in my day, for myself, relatives, buddies, their close friends, their close friends close friends, you get it... I have always utilised Asus boards and under no circumstances had an concern. Effectively wait a minute, I utilised a Gigabyte board once and it eventually began failing in several regions, such as the internal NIC and the onboard IDE.I paired this board with 8-gig of Kingston Hyper-X ram, a 1090T 6-core AMD proc, 500gig WD difficult drive, A Palit Nvidiea GTX560 TI two-GB Vid card, Asus DVD burner, Silverstone 800W PS, and a Rosewill situation. All is excellent so far... Just got this board this week and played with it yesterday. After reading some of the concerns individuals had been having i located out most of them had been due to the fact they either got a negative board or some thing other than the board itself so i bought the board. Has worked excellent so far. Cant complain at all. I have the C Stacker Nvidia edition 830 model, PNY gtx470, 16gb of Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333mhz ram, AMD Phenom II X6 1090T and 800W power provide, all stock no overclocking including heatsink and fan for CPU and no concerns however. Havent had a chance to play with the sound yet but dont seriously use it for audio production only for gaming and genuinely dont care for a pro sound card correct now. None as of now except i wish for the price tag you got SATA III and USB 3. but thats ok. Was debating to go with intel but decided with this board due to the fact im a fan of AMD and Intel are way more than priced. If the crosshair was able to do sli i would have got that one given that it looks genuinely excellent but not a fan of ATI video.

Everything was as listed. MEMok worked! I suggest reading the manual if your ram light is red! The manual really helped an old hand for as soon as. cmos and bios superb. had to actually read the manual for once. But thats a personal problem. I won't take an egg for the board having superb new(atleast to me) functions.

I was searching forward to performing SLI with an AMD board just before they develop into extinct. These boards do not like GTX460 vidcards. The system reboots/hangs/ BSODs and the memOK funtion is triggered. Invest the next hour seeing which mixture of button mashing and power cycling will let it boot again. Either the BIOS setting are lost when memOK triggers or you have to clear CMOS so be ready to make constant trips to the BIOS; if you can boot to it.I completely reinstalled Win 7 64 and started from scratch with no luck. Right after digging by means of Windows logs and uninstalling something that seemed to be causing difficulty the circumstance has only gotten worse. Now, in addition to those issues, the technique will occasionally not even POST or Windows will load but freeze soon immediately after loading.I've run Memtest on all the ram and there isn't a difficulty with the ram. I feel the board is slowly becoming a brick. I'm going to try and RMA it more than Spring Break. Considering the lack of response to a identified concern I have a feeling I'll be looking for another board from vendor. I bought a 1TB eSATA backup when the board began acting up so my data is safe. If you program on working with this board with a gtx460 you may want to do the similar. The board is unstable and unreliable.

This mobo has lots of attributes. I like the truth that it has sli and amd x6 cpu capable. Not several mobos out there with that selection. The only con I have is that trying to run my RAM at 2000mhz I get the blue screen soon after ten min or so (gaming or not). The BIOS was simple to overclock the RAM but I'm unsure of why it crashes at 2000. So till I figure out how to repair this I jus run it at 1333 and she runs all day. This was a complete construct from soup to nuts and it went smooth no significant concerns at all. This program is quickly, very quickly the board has all types of capabilities (READ YOUR Directions). I have seen folks posting some negative factors about the board, I don't know what your scenario was but I found that taking my time reading the critiques and reading the directions created my construct go very properly. Do your research it assists. Also there is a great youtube video (not by me) that was sponsored by newegg and others on how to develop a gaming method, its two hours long but properly worth the time if you have under no circumstances completed a complete create. This is a fantastic board hands down. You will not be disappointed Only that I had to wait an additional week mainly because I was dumb and ordered the incorrect board originally but that was my fault not Newegg's. SLI, DDR3, AMD 6 Core support It doesn't jump out of the box and install itself. Perhaps someday Asus will get on the ball with that function. An earlier reviewer mentioned they couldn't fit their sound card in between their SLI video cards. I can tell you that an X-Fi XtremeGamer Soundblaster card does indeed fit amongst two GTX 470 cards in SLI and doesn't bring about any heat issues. So far I've run the 470's challenging and haven't broken 72 degrees celcius. I purchased this board based on the SLI and overclocking alternatives since upgrading an old workhorse ASUS P4P800 board. Good excellentfrom ASUS as often. The Core unlocker worked but I couldn't uncover any benefit to it from reading on the net for my CPU. For proper now I'm keeping it stock till I commence playing some games to see how it performs. I had difficulties with the SATA technique when the board on boot would not see my drives... I switched the connectors with same results. I was working with the SATA cables from my old rig that I thought they had been fantastic. I decided to attempt the cables that came with the motherboard that were a small distinct with locking clips on them. That fixed the challenge. -I almost hate to say this 1st, but: It is an wonderful searching motherboard. I don't have a clear side panel and that sucks. If you get this board, you'll know what I'm talking about.-It runs the 1055t truly well. -BIOS for ASUS is excellent.-SLI -Reinstalling most of the drivers. -I guess manually setting the RAM freq is a con. I was unsure about how well the board would run a six core... I don't know why... It runs the processor seriously properly.Installation was simple enough, but it didn't come with screws.Upgraded from a Gigabyte nForce 4 series (K8Triton) and the distinction is staggering. The power that ASUS provides you to OC is super. I'm glad I stuck with nVidea.

Although trying to overclock above four.25Ghz I crashed this MB over 150 occasions. By no means had a challenge rebooting. It has a C.P.R. feature to help the board restart when you go crazy with the settings-1 OF THE Handful of BOARDS THAT CAN DO NVIDIA QUADRO SLI not Ge Force, Quadro SLI .You will need nvidia chipset to do quadro sli for the PNY cards I bought. I learned the difficult way, I have a EVGA SR-2 sitting in the corner. Word to the wise, just buy the finest Quadro card you can and forget about quadro SLI I see no noticeable distinction...except a lighter wallet The RAID drivers for a RAID5 fresh install (before the OS) do not function. If you stick to the instructions you will fail. DO NOT USE THE MAKE DISK UTILITY, IT DOES NOT Perform. You have to go to the web site and grab the most up-to-date IDE drivers, put onto a usb flash and then manually go thru the folder to locate the folder with your OS ( mine was win 7 x64 ) and choose it when windows asks you to load the drivers to start out the OS installation. ASUS tech wanted me to return the MB. It is not the board, it is there garbage "make disk" utility The Turbo V software program does not support a 6 core processor. This means when utilizing the OC computer software you see 4 cores and a 5th core that is half shown. There is no computer software fix for this on ASUS web page. I had to acquire AIDA64 Extreme Edition to figure out what was going on in my BIOS, there are a lot of "AUTO" settings but no way to know what the MB is setting things at. I like the truth that you have manage over Almost everything in the BIOS, but acquiring this issue up and operating with the RAID5 was a nightmare.AMD Phenom 1100T x6 3.3GHZ ( O.Cd at a stable 4.25GHZ) 1 hr plus stability test with AIDA64 plus stressing HDDsall on open window winter air, 20F...lol3-WD RAPTORS 75Gb - RAID5GSLKILL F3-16000CL9D-8GBFL ( OCd at 2000Mhz ꎬw RocketFish PSU2-Nvidia QUADRO FX-3700 in SLI (ACAD setup) or1 EVGA GTX 580 (Video game set-up)

-Accurate dual 16x SLI with AMD processor support.-MemOK light assists in diagnosing concerns in the course of POST.-Installation and troubleshooting (POST beeps) directions clearly explained in the manual. -BIOS is pretty self-explanatory, ASUS is usually excellent about that.-Good price tag for the features you get.-Good layout except... (see cons) The spacing isn't too bad but could be a small better. If you are going to SLI this board, which I imagine is the cause most people acquire it, be aware that the two PCI-x16 slots are quite close to the PCI and PCI-x1 slots, so large video cards will most likely limit your use of this board. I'm operating two 9800 GTX+'s in SLI and had to get a USB wireless adapter since the video cards were crowding my PCI card and causing poor reception. The core unlocker function is cool I guess if you acquire something with fewer cores than a quad or hex.

It looked fantastic, ran great although it ran. Fully shot craps 11 days into operating it. Dead board now I have to wait for the RMA. Asus express gate is dumb what is the point and all the dumb bloatware is annoying. I have built 6 AMD SLI builds all fantastic but, those were all the MSI series so when I saw this Asus version I jumped on it. Well its not what I was hoping for. It was a large let down as I have never ever had a difficulty with Asus so from now on I will stick with Intel SLI Asus boards and leave the AMD SLI to MSI.
