Buggy software, not compatible with 3rd parties!
Comment:
Yes, it works, but the software is EXTREMELY BUGGY. My recording scheduler is CONSTANTLY disappearing and I have to go back and add everything again. And it is totally incompatible with MythTV and other 3rd party PVR packages (although it does seem to work in Windows Media Center). I regret purchasing this - was a waste of money and I'll have to buy another one now.

Works easily right out of the box
Comment:
We have both a normal cable-sat feed, and an external antenna feed, one is analog, and the other is digital (antenna). Both work perfectly, with the device scanning for all dig stations from the antenna without problems, and the analog cable feed working fine too. I would only complain a little about the interface (software), being a bit clunky to navigate around. Too much pretty icons, and not enough simple explanation.

Very good Product
Comment:
Unlike the one I bought first, and had to return, It installed with out any problems, and so far works as it is suppose too. I should have bought this in the first place, since it is the same brand as the card version I had in my old computer.

excellent tunner
Comment:
I've had this about a year now. It comes with good, easy to use software. Cable tv requirements have changed so now it stays on ch3 and you have to be sure to put the cable box on the right channel for scheduled recordings. If there is a better, cheeper one out there I dont know about it.

Does the job
Comment:
The mark down in the features is in comparison with what I had from previous software suite. This is not as flexible or intuitive - but does produce a fine hi-rez (720 x 480) capture. Easily installed and auto scan found cable and broadcast stations in my area.

Excellent Product
Comment:
I have tried other USB ATSC Tuner products and this one is by far the best product I have used. Others I have tried have reception problems and freeze often, this product works well with very good reception and smooth screen display with no freezes so far.

Good quality n good price
Comment:
The picture and sound is very nice for a cheap product like this one and works very well but i purchased it to make backup of family film from VHS to DVD to find that i can't because there is a protection so that we can't record from VHS or DVD player.

Good for price but not too good on performance.
Comment:
It was good for the price considering all the features it came with. But I had trouble recording an hour long program because it would stir up the hard drive and cut some seconds out of the recording. In the end, it is an average product.

Great product
Comment:
Works great, picks up off air FM radio stations fine, works great with my system. Only draw back I can see, is that because I can't hook it up directly from my satellite dish, I can't get it to know I have Star Choice & can't get online programing to work ( I think it's supposed to give that anyway). But, it works fine & you can schedule for a recording at a particular time to happen every day.

Worth it on sale
Comment:
Excellent product - but unless you're in a good location, you'll need to look into getting a better antennae. Aside from reception (which is antennae and location dependent), I find the volume to be really, really low - I need to crank it up just to make things audible. Haven't tried external speakers on the laptop which may alleviate the problem. All in all, the best product IMO out there, especially for the sale price.

Works great...
Comment:
Purchased this to use with PC when I go camping. It works wonderfully. I had an issue with getting split display on HD channels... turned out to be display driver. Also, key to success is receiving an adequate TV signal. Broadcast signals can fade in and out... in the digital world, the classic symptom of inadequate signal is that the picture will freeze, momentarily hang or just go black. In the analog world, the same condition would produce snowy picture. If you experience any of these, always make sure you have a good signal. With all of those conditions met, this product just plain works, and very well.

user interface could be better
Comment:
I bought this tuner for troubleshooting (I work in the CATV business), but was disappointed that you can't manually tune it to an EIA channel # or frequency. It has to scan the spectrum, then you can memorize fav channels. On the plus side, it works reliably and doesn't over-heat.

Execllent value. Easy to install and quickly obtained cable channels. Software would not install easily with Vista but used Windows Media Centre with no problem.

Process is Painful but Result is Great
Comment:
Currently this product does not support Windows 7 so I have to boot into my Vista partition to use it. The software that comes with it is clunky and slow, and unless you have Windows MCE you're pretty much stuck with it. It takes about 5 seconds to start or stop recording. But the only important thing to me is the end result, and it's the best I've seen from this type of device. You get the fullest quality you can possibly expect from composite cables.

Great TV Substitute in Dorm, DVR features a bonus
Comment:
I purchased this for my college freshman daughter in lieu of taking a TV to her dorm room. It is a great substitute for the TV but also offers all the benefits of a DVR. Seems to work great in every way. My daughter commented that even viewing the TV signal over the mini rabbit ears "It looks like you are really there".

Purchased to use with netbook. Could pickup DTV from about 35 mi away with just the rabbit ears. The software locks up sometimes when searching, but for the price a really good deal.

A good product
Comment:
I purchased this video capture device after having purchased a different one that failed. This one worked right off the bat. I installed the program with no problems and it worked without any problems. I have not tried to pick up any TV stations since I live in the boonies and likely wouldnt get anything without a huge outdoor antenna anyway. For some reason when I tried using s-video from my dish I could not get sound, but RCA and Coax cable worked with video and sound. I found RCA to have the best video quality. Recording was easy enough. Pretty much click one button and it records until you stop. It did what I intended it to do and Im glad I splurged and spent the extra money on this one.

Works okay for me
Comment:
Took about a half an hour to install the software and I was receiving direct over the air Digital TV stations. I have not tryed to do any recording yet but from menus looks like should not be too much of a task.
