It functions, making use of it with Vista 64 MC, and tvpack 2008. a bit too "light", , and I preserve loosing it in the couch. slighly annoying red led on the receiving unit.

Works excellent, with the blaster media center can alter the channels on my cable box. Works out of the box with windows 7 64bit Sort of high-priced. If you need an ir blaster get this one!

Two downstairs Linksys DMA2100 Vista media center extenders operate a Comcast Scientific Atlanta cable box utilizing this IR Blaster.Good remote. None. Prior to getting this I couldn't find any internet site that explicitly said how to manage a cable box near a Pc from remote media center extenders. This did the job cheaply and with no fuss.

Emulates a Microsoft MCE remote, I am just using the receiver with my Logitech Harmony. None Even if you just will need the IR receiver it is still pretty price efficient.

Functions fine, just plug in and start watching. none however If you are using the ir blaster for windows media center, even if you arent going to use it to manage a cable box, plug in the ir cable to the ir blaster or the setup wont full. Spent a though attempting to figure this out and had a face palm afterwards.

Worked with Ubuntu 9.1 soon after installing LIRC (sudo apt-get isntall lirc). I use it for Boxee Media Center and most button appear to operate fine.Good range and responsive. Unlike most posts recommended that it worked out of the box, I had to tweak some to get it working but I was glad when it eventually worked. Soon after installing lirc you require the following:* Copy /usr/share/lirc/remotes/mceusb/lircd.conf to /etc/lirc/lircd.conf* Produce a /etc/lic/hardware.conf -> I just got an example from the web for my remote and it worked.* If you can't get the lircd.conf.mceusb you can develop a single for the remote making use of irrecord utility from the lirc package. Then restart the service:$sudo /etc/init.d/lirc restartand test the remote by typing irw and press keys to uncover responses

lightweight, solid and sleek controller. most of the buttons you want. great layout. buttons are soft. expense. operates fantastic with vista mce. only 1 key flaw-you require direct line of sight. you turn the corner and it doesn't operate. i have the firefly remote and you can be in an additional area to adjust the channel. two issues are missing. would be nicer if it had backlighting. would be good to have a reduce/ maximize button.

-Works with Vista x64-Lowers the technique volume, so functions with Media Player, VLC, etc-Simple to install (no drivers required)-Cost (under โ shipped) -The remote is physically oversized (tall but skinny)-Doesnt assistance bluetooth, have to use their IR box (annoying due to the fact the machine has bluetooth) I hate Media Center, so needed to make sure one particular of the quite a few remote possibilities worked with Media Player rather. This one does. Desktop setting, being used to watch movies from bed so I really only use the volume controls which work best (saves me obtaining up to turn it up/down when started). Thanks NewEgg!

It's a nice looking remote and feels as good as most any other remote. Not heavy at all but feels durable sufficient. Not the remote's fault but Vista could not come across a working code for my Motorola DCT 6414. Google returned several frustrated Moto users searching for the code. I also tried General Instrument. GI utilized to make the boxes before Moto took more than. I tried every code offered for Moto and GI with no good results. If you have a MCE remote but have been stonewalled for the duration of the Vista MCE setup with a message saying it could not uncover an IR device, this is the kit you require to complete the tuner setup. The code issue is not the fault of the remote so I won't break any eggs for that major inconvenience but I am very annoyed with Vista. There are millions of Moto cable boxes in use and I see no reason why the remote code database cannot be updated.

No driver to install. Work nicely as a Vista MCE remote out of the box. Good looking remote. 1. Confusing user manual. A few capabilities are marked as "if accessible" in the manual. Why can't they just print a manual for the applicable model? 2. I thought this remote had restricted understanding capability for Tv power, volume, channel, and number keys. I can't get this to operate following this directions in the user manual. Since the understanding mode section is marked as "if available", I don't feel this model supports the restricted studying mode. I can't figure out how to use the included IR emitter to control a Television or set-leading box.3. The keys are small and the layout is a bit cramped. Getting backlit keys would have been nice.

This remote functions properly with windows and linux. I'm utilizing it to control xbmc via eventghost in windows, and lirc in linux. The IR blaster works to control my receiver. I tested the ir blaster on my tv and it functions with that as well. wish it came with two IR blasters it took a fair amount of tweaking to get this factor to work corrently in linux, so I wouldn't try it unless you know what you're carrying out. I had to blacklist the kernel drivers to get it working.

When it worked it worked very good..... The IR receiver was big and bulky. It started to go negative right after about 5 months but I thought it was usb port ... so when I purchased a USB pci card and nevertheless had the identical troubles I did alot a lot more diagnostics. Finally found it was the USB IR receiver. I contacted the manufacturer on their internet site and asked about obtaining a new IR receiver -- they in no way responded. Nor ever acknowledged my e-mail. Poor item. Poor customer service -- newegg is typically fantastic but this only had a 30 day non refundable warranty. So you can't blame them. I ordered the upgraded remote with orange buttons and am considerably happier with that one and the IR receiver seems to be of alot much better top quality.

This thing WORKS!! Straight out of the box pop the batteries in and go to town on VMC. It feels nice in the hand and in my eyes is looks good laying on the coffee table. It feels light weight. not necessarily a con. I like my remotes to have that heavy top quality feel. Buy it.
