Great but not fantastic feature set for present price, decent bios, Wonderful unlocking capabilities, ease of overclocking if you want to, Legacy I/O's if you will need them(I did) Beeps way as well a lot, though that can be turned off. Bios a little confusing and really small documentation with the board, Has to be downloaded if your not comfortable with what there is in the package. I didn't need to have to but some could. Took off a single egg for this. Purchased this to replace a different Biostar board that I had a three.2g celeron on, that had to be the worst cpu I have ever owned(slow, hot even with aftermarket cooler and artic silver, buggy, and so on). Board fit the case perfectly and with the legacy ports I was capable to use all the old drives whilst possessing the capacity to upgrade to SATA in the future. It came combo'd with a semperon 140 that actually blows the old cpu out of the water. I now have considerable upgradability, I just wish I had purchased the board when the Egg had it at the40 buck cost awhile back as an alternative of the existing price tag point. Oh well my negative, I still got in impact a brand new laptop or computer(motherboard, cpu and ram) for less than what I had spent on the motherboard that I had purchased when I initially constructed the replacement for this unit final year. It will make a excellent unit for good friends to use in the guest bedroom when they come to pay a visit to.

No challenges whatsoever. Almost everything went collectively well with this board. Lots of boot drive possibilities. Lots of legacy device connections for these who want them. Not really a con, but verify memory voltage setting to be sure it gets it appropriate. Everyone who knows what they're performing would do that anyway, correct. Haven't attempted overclocking, since that's not what I purchased it for. Let me replace the Socket 478 Pentium four-based system in my hobby workroom with no having to replace almost everything else I was employing in it. Intel has nothing down in the price tag/performance range of an Athlon II 260, so I went with AMD for when.

Fantastic for Household Theater on a spending budget! HDMI and incredibly stable. Just on HDMI. This mobo was extremely straightforward to install. I had my reservations at very first given that I by no means applied a Biostar item ahead of but it has been excellent right after 4 months of use.

This board has all of the attributes that I was searching for when constructing a new Computer for my sons. Add the truth that it was affordable and that's why I chose it as the one for my new make. The integrated video didn't perform at all. No display output from VGA or DVI. I even went to the Biostar web site to see if they had a forum or FAQ about this, but had no such luck. Now I have to ship the board back to newegg(บ out the window) and will lose the rebate present due to the fact I couldn't cut the UPC off the box that I had to ship back(another บ lost). I won't compose this board off as a "don't acquire" but. Lemons take place. It just sucks that this failed board is going to price me ฤ a lot more than it really should have and make me waste 2-three weeks on this build.

This board has worked perfectly so far. It booted up with Ubuntu and Windows 7 x64 with no concerns at all. Upon 1st boot, I was surprised to see my "all in 1" card reader was detected at the BIOS level. which suggests i'd be in a position to boot from a flash card if i wanted. none to think of. Value, efficiency, flexibility, adaptability, ACC help. Placement of some connectors not optimal, only two memory slots, no active cooling of NB & SB heatsinks, but absolutely nothing essential or even worse than mild annoyance. This is becoming a single of my preferred mid-range boards for builds and my hands-down beloved for HTPC builds. The integrated video is only common, but the Hybrid CrossFire function tends to make these mean boards with the addition of a dirt-low cost dedicated video card. For much less than the value of a comparable board, you can have a method that will do all mid-range tasks with ease.Normal HTPC construct profile:Biostar A880G+ mATXAMD Ath II x2 250 RegorADATA 4GB DDR3񳈰Samsung F3 500GB SATA HDRadeon HD 5570 cardWindows 7 HP or Pro x64Average WEI score for normal system:six.5 CPU7.four RAM6.7 2D6.7 Gamingfive.9 HDTucked into a HTPC case or a slimline desktop, these configs will do practically almost everything brief of heavy gaming or higher-end application function with ease and style.

Very good high quality.small.enough ports and what not for most. the north bridge heat sink is more of an orange color then the red and doesn't truly match the rest of the board but actually im just looking for one thing incorrect now. Buikt a mid range gaming computer for a friend threw an athlon2x2 adn a 5770 in built the whole rig for below 400 bucks. and its runnin like a champ maxin out games like crazy.

The Technical Specs on sheet. sound incredibly impressive. Received 1st MB, DOA. simply because I was unable to ping down wether it was the Motherboard or the CPU, I returned each parts. add ũ to the total value for the return fee. Received 2nd motherboard and nonetheless similar situation. The motherboard does not give any signals (you have to obtain the internal speaker +ū) to let the user know the symtom. Now I am waiting for one more CPU to arrive and attempt that. The frustrading element about this is that you will not know what is wrong with the program because there are no visual or audio signals coming out of the board even when it is receiving full power, leaving you to speculate, which is what I am undertaking. The PCI 16X two. is too close to the other PCI slots, meaning that you will loose 1 of 2 pci slots, leaving you with one particular usable slot if you are to install a GPU that uses 2 slots. The breadboard looks solid, and it shows that it has been expected by 3 unique inspectors who give the "OK". some companies ask for an additional fee to test the board (not newegg) and parts you order creating me wounder if what is expected from manufactorers in order for the consumer to expect a working item... This is my first time attempting Biostar and I assume it will be my final, terrible encounter working with the MB and the costumer service from Biostar take user for complete dummies asking to confirm wether the power is connected, make sure the CPU is seated, the Ram is seated and personal computer connected to the monitor... seriously? I believed it worked on magic sprinkles from farries who dwelled in the motherboard and came out when you pushed to Power botton to trasnfer videosignals to the monitor.

Extremely uncomplicated to overclock & unlock cores (unlocked my Athlon II X3 to an X4)Plenty of BIOS characteristicsLittleOnboard HDMIDDR3 Only a single fan connectionOnly two RAM slotsOnly 1 PCIe slotOdd placement of the four-pin power connecter Like I said, it's a decent motherboard if you're low on money, and I had mine bundled with my Athlon II X3, which unlocked flawlessly to X4 and overclocked from 3.2GHz to three.58GHz. My only complaints are not enough connections, and odd placement of some.

This is the Second BioStar I have purchased and I have to say that I am quite happy with both. The documentation was a tiny restricted but I was capable to get the answers I needed from their TechSupport e mail just before I ever even bought the mobo. Server 2008 R2 booted up on this board without having any issues. Documentation was not incredibly verbose but a quick e mail to tech assistance purchased this mobo back the egg that I would have deducted.

Works. Mail-in rebate requirements seems to count on men and women generating errors.Wireless LAN connection doesn't operate as well properly and is erratic (need to enter the WPA essential every time). The identical WLAN adapter operates fine in all my other Computer's. Don't forget to write the Promo Code and Transaction ID at the back of the envelope. They'll use that as an excuse to deny your rebate even if all the needed info, such as original bar code, original invoice and printout containing the transaction ID and Promo Code, was enclosed inside the envelope!

Built in hd audio and video, support for most recent amd cpu's and memory. Shipping packaging I didn't have the other troubles that others look to be getting with this board. When my abit board went out, I decided to go with Biostar due to the fact of some negative critiques with asus and gigabyte - perhaps they're getting to huge - and lax - for their own very good. I don't know, but I'm satisfied that I chose this Biostar board (so far anyways).1. No problems studying low-cost gskill 8 mb 1333 ram.2. No issues working with ide cdrom with my sata tough drive (set cdrom junper to CS (cable select).3. No difficulties with i/o shield - fits perfectly.four. No problems with Phenom 555 processor.five. No difficulties with - anything!Immediately after booting into os for the 1st time - set up the integrated drivers from disk instantly! Works flawlessly. Don't depend on MS drivers for ATI chipset.Purchased this mb, Phenom 555, 8 mb gskill 1333 ram, and Windows 7 64 bit. Great upgrade to what I had. Haven't tried to unlock to 4 cores yet...A single egg off for loose packaging - nothing at all to secure products (styrofoam?)

Low-cost, DDR3 support, AMD onboard graphics. Overclocking attributes Bought 4 these m/b to create an workplace desktops. Win7 64 install and setup was as effortless as it could get. Updated BIOS, installed newest chipset and video drivers. Anything worked till I tried to connect pc to DVI or HDMI monitor. I can see POST message and Win load logo but as soon as it switches to login screen goes blank. I tried to modify resolution, tweak BIOS, use AMD drivers instead of manufacturer’s: absolutely nothing worked neither with DVI nor HDMI on 2 diverse monitor Biostar client help is a joke: I employed E-Help to submit my challenge far more than a week ago and didn’t even get an acknowledgment of submission. So I guess for casual office computer system this motherboard will do, but don't attempt to get something fancy out of it.

This board booted correct up and and every little thing works. Built a good small process for around 400 dollars with ATI 5670 saphire video card. Scored 7 on windows 7. Temps with my athlon three core is quite low about 28 with artic silver and stock heatsink. Havent tried to overclock it but or unlock core the other core. none truly except board is small but I knew that. Remarkable the amount of power you can get now for chump modify. This is a great casual gamer rig now and if I had splurged for a 5770 would be a considerably additional critical gaming rig. Initial Ati card I have purchased and so far it appears nice for the dollars with extremely low energy consumption.

Cpu Temps ran in the high 70 degree F range. With an Athlon X4 640 cpu. None so far, all very good. A single is in a Coolermaster E 341 case with 4 fans, and this one particular in the Silverstone SUGO case Ɠ fans) which I actually like.I may well figure out a way to add a fourth fan to it if I really feel I require to.
