Straightforward to setup and no frills. Solid. Have paired this board with a wide variety of AM3 cpu's - No troubles. Operating Win7 64x Pro and Ult, no matters. Drivers - Installed off of CD - no troubles there. Applied Corsair 430 watt or Antec Green 380 and 430 watt - no issues. Ran the same Important DDR3 in all builds - all solid. Superb board for work stations or Household Theater Pc. Not enough fan headers. Only has 2 ram slots. Notta, Adore Newegg

A quite impressive Micro ATX board for the HTPC I built. The onboard Radeon HD 4250 GPU smooth displays 1080p Blu-ray. In addition it supports Crossfirex Hybrid, giving the solution of a future upgrade to get a small a lot more increase. The core unlocker unlocked two additional cores on my Phenom II X2 BE 555. It turned it into a X4 B55 and I then overclocked it by way of bios to 3.88 working with 213 FSB, 18.5 Mulitplier, 1.45 voltage. It remained cool at 32c at normal use and about 44c at full abuse. The board runs a little hot in a little HTPC case, at about 44c. I'll likely add a 120 mm fan to help with that. I installed 8 gigs of Gskill 1333 DDR3 ram and it works excellent. The bios is feature packed offering a lot of customizing. I don't have anything negative to say about this board. For the cost and capabilities it's a bargain. This is a fantastic matx board, match it with a 555 processor and unlock the cores and you'll have a nice little method for micro dollars. I just built a program on the 965 BE processor and this technique I just built rivals it in benchmarks. The only factor that's slower is the GPU. But the 4250 can't seriously be compared to a 5770, now can it. But it's a lot for HD. A client is going to have me create yet another method, I'll likely use this board. He wants a tiny compact program, with expandability and very good graphics. I believe a program built around this board will do it for him. I like to make a test program initial and let my customers give a test run just before they commit. I look forward to demonstrating this method to him.

Exactly where to begin! My 3rd Biostar board in a couple of years for a variety of builds. Never ever a single concern with them. This 1 has HDMI and DVI on board with fairly nice onboard graphics. Plays 1080p flawlessly. I was not able to unlock my Athlon II X3 but that is not Biostars fault. What I loved was how extremely easy it was to attempt to unlock. Overclocking will be next and it appears to be just as simple. The board layout was ideal for me and nothing was in the way but that has alot to do with your case. I could see how the memory could get in the way with cases that have the HDD's going front to back. I also enjoy the game increase mode that overclocks the onboard graphics. None, , ZILCH. I was unable to play some a lot more graphics intense games but that is to be expected with onboard graphics.

Works for it's intended use, was a largely unproblematic construct. Update to my assessment below, this is the response I received via e mail from biostar:"BIOS AMD CPU Kernel Bug: It will make S3 resume fail when compared to BIOS internal CPU original Table. If the ACC feature is enabled in BIOS, S3 sleep will not perform adequately." Hopefully there aren't any other bugs included!

The board worked as advertised. The on-board video with this chip set is awesome for the value. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box on a fresh construct. Worked flawlessly with Ubuntu ten.10 and Win7. I think the manual and included literature is terrible, specifically when compared to the ASUS manuals I'm used to.It'd be nice if the board had a few more connections or ram slots, but I can't complain about a board with this chip set for under ๛ This is my initial Biostar motherboard make, I'm pleasantly shocked with how it all worked. The board unlocked the 2nd core on a Sempron 140 with definitely no stability problems. It's difficult to believe how well this board works thinking about the value.

Would have been five eggs except for the finicky driver setup. Thank goodness it comes with a CD. This is a solid board and a great value. The actual bear is 1) no out-of-the-box support for LAN in WinXP, and 2) usual frustrations installing RealTek audio drivers. Neither are BioStar's fault. Don't wait too lengthy to get one. As quickly as the mobo producers drop merchandise, this one is a keeper. mATX format seals the deal.

Nice Layout, board is easy to read / set up. Fairly much the lowest expense board getting and HDMI connection. Had complications installing smbus driver for xp. ATI graphics driver ati2dvag triggered repeated blue screens - check the Web - the driver has history of hanging under certain conditions, and the issue remains unsolved. Initially, I liked this board and it seemed to be fairly stable. Then I experienced my initial blue screen with ati2dvag. This is apparently a fairly common failure mode for ATI-based graphics cards. I was able to figure out that the failure was associated to a conflict in between the board's USB and the board's ATI Radeon HD 4250. I could recreate the crash 100% of the time by running a windows explorer file search on a USB connected drive. The board also failed to post randomly and would need CTRL-ALT-DEL to try again. Practically constantly, it posted on the second attempt, but the behavior spooked me that there might be some other troubles lurking. I'm opting now for a NVIDIA board to keep away from ati2dvag crash . This was my 12th motherboard, and is the very first 1 I was unable to get to function - it's going back. Too bad - I was looking foward to working with the HDMI. Spent way too significantly time trying to get this board to function. I hope my next board will work correct out of the box with no any fiddling.

Excellent colors, cost, functionality, performance. The description clearly states it only has two memory slots - get over it. Windows 7 loaded all the drivers. It does not have all solid state capacitors. I wish it came with the cheater block where you plug all the front panel connections to the block and then plug the block to the motherboard. You know - like xxxx does. If you don't know - well it is cool. It would not power up at initially. When I pushed the power button the fans bumped and stopped. So I pushed various instances quickly and it came up. Seems to work OK now - but soon after doing a lot of builds - that appears strange and could mean an problem at a later date.

Cheap. Initially gave this 4 eggs but immediately after owning for 5 months it has develop into unstable. Reinstalled OS and nonetheless get BSOD in the course of cpu intensive tasks like DVD ripping. Tried each bios tweak I can feel of and nonetheless no adjust. Put a similar board in a friends PC and following 6 mo's it began to BSOD also, even immediately after OS reinstall. My theory is these factors have cheap components that get out of tolerance with age and trigger instability. You get what you pay for. Even when new I had to play with the memory settings to get it to run stable in spite of the memory getting on their approved list. Could by no means get it to run stable with four cores unlocked on Phenom II X2 555. Says cpu is running at 125deg F at idle which I question. Removed cooler, cleaned, reapplied heatsink compound, no change. Replaced board with an MSI 880GMA making use of exact same cooler with all 4 cores unlocked and it says 80deg at idle and no additional BSOD. Didn't even reinstall OS so I know that's not the culprit.

I purchased this motherboard since I wanted 1 that I could unlock the other two cores in my AMD Phenom II X2 555. I also required a motherboard that worked with my HD Tv that I was working with as my monitor. With the HDMI I get good resolution on my Television and have HDMI sound. Very best of all it all works excellent with Linux Mint 10. Unlocked all 4 cores without having trouble. This is a fantastic board for the price of a micro ATX 880G+ motherboard, you get what you pay for ,I have tried less expensive and been disappointed,I would not hesitate to buy another in the future, uncomplicated to read enlarged foldout diagram for connections, get this board although you still can! Video card so major it covers some of the sata connections and the board only presents two memory slots, but I knew this and nonetheless purchased the board. I board replaced a burnt up Gateway motherboard, the machine was given to me for performing a repair, so I installed this Biostar board and 4gigs of G.Skill Ripjaws and single core Sempron with XP pro and a 9800gt and performing great so far.

Fantastic efficiency, straightforward install. Applied this for my very very first create (budget gaming pc). Got Quite LUCKY (based on other critiques) with unlocking my Phenom II 555 Black x2 and overclocks it like it was born to do it. Comes with drivers on CD. Right after constructing, turned on at initially go, had HD formatted and os installed in about two hours tops. Getting trouble with the microphone jack. After installing the drivers, I tried working with my old desktop mic but it swears that it doesn't exist. Installed my webcam next (which has built in, albeit junky, mic) which utilizes USB port and it worked good. Not positive if this is a mobo, driver, os, or whatever dilemma, so i wont defer from giving it a 5 egg (planning on acquiring a good new headset anyways (as long as its usb)). Unlocked extra cores on my processor immediately after 1 failed attempt (I neglected to get a greater wattage PSU and was utilizing a recycled 1 from my old pc, so the very first attempt basically shut down the entire machine). Soon after purchasing a new PSU with suitable wattage (went with 650w) every little thing was cake.

Utilized with AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz, G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB ƒ x 2GB), and windows 7 household 64bit. No troubles at all, the easiest install/build I've ever performed. I will be buying more Biostar when I upgrade other machines. None, add to cart now if you are thinking about it and comparing for a good cheap construct.

Fantastic looking board, looks very good with a case window. Quick boot up.Very good overclocking capability, core unlocking capability.SATA ports are spaced nicely and uncomplicated to reach.USB 2. headers for 4 additional ports. The *BIO REMOTE* utility (basically iPhone/Android VNC client) is awesome, lets you use your telephone as a mouse/keyboard substitute or Windows Media remote control for the PC on your LAN. Much less hassle than setting up a normal VNC server on your own if you're working with this board for a HTPC construct. Why is there a FDD connector? No, definitely. Who utilizes those?Only 4x USB 2. ports on the board itself, a lot of room for far more above HDMI/video ports. Depending on what you're using, might want to get USB header or make certain your case has front USB ports to add additional devices. Only 2x RAM slots. No PCIe x1 slot may limit your expansion card selections. Deducted 1 egg for lack of PCIe x1 slot and four onboard USB ports. Remove the FDD connection, use the plastic/wiring for a PCIe x1 slot please Biostar! I really have two of these, soon after one died due to user error* and fried some traces I bought a second 1 to replace it. It's really a wonderful board, a different excellent 1 from Biostar as usual!*Note to self, don't drop a PCI slot cover onto a motherboard. You will ruin it and have to obtain a new motherboard.

On-board video card with HDMI out, simple to configure BIOS, comprehensive installation instructions included. None in my opinion Wonderful small mobo, and I mean little! Every thing arrived neatly packed, and there had been no missing parts. Directions make the create straightforward for novices such as myself. Do your self a favor and be certain to install the drivers from the included disc immediately after installing the OS. I was a bit nervous due to some flaky performance initially, but following installing the manufacturer drivers this mobo has performed beautifully! I was unable to unlock any further cores working with the bio-unlock feature, but I was not counting on that anyway.

Not a factor This MB is a total waste of time. Very first 1, DOA. Second one, DOA. MB tech support, genuinely? Asked me if I plugged in the 4 pin connector. I've now spent over 踗.00 and have nothing. The actual torture is that I did my due diligence and used a processor and memory on the MFG tested list. Guess I'll waste some much more money and get one thing else.
