Very straightforward set up, lots of sata conn., not tight for mATX only two mem slots but knew that going in Great mobo. This is my second Biostar board and I am quite impressed. I typically go for ASUS or MSI but the cost was appropriate on this one particular and had the characteristics I required for a client build. I put an Ath II x 3 鸂) and unlock to a full Phenom II x 4 which includes L3 cache which most don't get performing this. I was just lucky I guess. My buyer now has the very same proccesor that I purchased for my rig 955 be for ๟.99. What a bargin and tends to make me appear good to the buyer. So thanks Biostar I will definately use you once more.

Operates excellent, has been running continual for about a week now with no complications. I was unable to unlock further cores on my CPU but not truly a fault of the MB, just unlucky with CPU. My only beef is that newegg dropped the price by 15 a handful of days after purchasing.

Was NOT DOA and does what’s advertised! Not really a con … no 90 deg connector on SATA cables. I have not built a new rig for my private use in many years and have often utilised ASUS MoBos with good good results but following two ASUS 880G’s DOA from a neighborhood retailer I purchased the GIGABYTE GA-880GM-D2H from Newegg (โ bucks much less than Neighborhood) but wham DOA!! 3 DOAs from two of the prime brands in 2 weeks. Excellent service from Newegg on the RMA and thankfully the GIGABYTE was out of stock pushing me to try this BIOSTAR. Fired up very first attempt. In less than 4 hours installed OS, updated BIOS and unlocked the 4th core of my X3, of course you’re minus L3 so why do it … just to see if I could. Excellent mobo all about. Comes with a strong integrated graphics chip that can deal with a handful of streams of HD video. For the value, unbeatable. Definitely recommend for HTPC setups. Wasn't free of charge. I purchased this mobo for my Linux HTPC setup. I'm operating a 3.0ghz Anthlon II with 4gb of DDR3 and 2tb WD Green HDD running Ubuntu ten.ten.I was nervous obtaining an ATI graphics based mobo, considering that there is some known tension with AMD/ATI support amongst Linux users, but Ubuntu picked up the newest updates necessary in "Addition Drivers" system application and she runs XBMC with 1080p footage perfectly.

* Has all the right features. * Accepted a single Gskill 4GB stick with out situation. * Wakes on USB keyboard proper.* Good layout* Sharp hunting* Driver updates came down from Windows update. * Not the slickest bios I've observed.* Bundled accessories contained the necessities and not considerably else. This is the third Biostar board I've tried and all have been excellent to go. Working with as a file server and second desktop for a couple weeks running Windows 7. Not unlocking or overclocking. Happy with it.

feature rich board for the income arrived d.o.a. - TWICE!....perhaps it was UPS' fault... newegg has been awesome in the rma method, wound up going with an asus board 3x as expensive but it has several additional attributes and a lot more importantly worked correct out of the box.

Nice looking board. Delivers smooth operation and had no issues with set up. Easiest develop I ever did (of course the board can't take all the credit, but it seems to function well and is easy to match up compatible memory and CPU). On-board CPU quiet cooling functions like a charm... quietest computer I've ever built. Could have applied at least 1 much more case fan connector. I am entirely happy with this MB. I will get Biostar boards again in the future for confident.

Great feature sets - precisely what I wanted. Very smaller form aspect. Cool colors. Seemingly solid construction. ื soon after rebate... Following getting so excited and waiting for it to come in the mail, I learned speedily that the very first board was DOA. The on-board video would not perform. Quite frustrating. Effectively I believed, "No sweat." I trust newegg's return policy and swiftly got a replacement. Opened it up, installed it... no go. Defective on-board video on the second! Even following installing a video card and receiving some thing on my screen, the ethernet connection wouldn't operate either... SO frustrating. I returned each for a refund. I have extensive Pc knowledge and have in no way received a defective motherboard prior to. After reading reviews and attempting to discover a resolution I swiftly found that Biostar is a 3rd rate brand. I believe it. Please read the remaining reviews for this board before you get. Many have been identified to be defective by newegg purchasers. Quite disappointing.I will never ever once again acquire a Biostar item. I recommend sticking to Gigabyte or Asus. You pay for excellent. Manufacturer Response:Sorry for your troubles and discover and value feedback. We hoped that you would make contact with our technical support staff to see if there is something missing.

Seeking about on the net, lots of these exact same boards have this problem. This is a pain to discover out immediately after you have anything allready installed. Initial and final Biostar motherboard I will ever obtain. Will stick with ASUS now on like I have for many years.

Quite compact size fits in any case, good number of on-board capabilities, fired up on the 1st boot, low cost AMI BIOS is absolutely dated. Yes, they have added a handful of issues to it but it still looks like one thing from the 1980s. Menued program for functions is not as effortless to navigate as newer BIOSs.ATI 4250 not based on 4000 series GPU but on 3200 GPU. Whaaat? On top rated of that, could not get it to work reliably. Tried 3 distinct on-board ATI graphics 4200 series drivers, including the one particular that came on the motherboard CD but all had occasional blue halt screens that locked up the Computer and trashed the existing browsing session. Had an old ATI 3850 card in my computer closet, so tossed that in. It worked perfectly and appears about 10x more rapidly than the on-board GPU. I was hoping to use the on-board video and save this card for a gaming technique for my grand youngsters but will have to make other plans now. Built this technique for my wife with a retail AMD Athlon II 450 x3 CPU, 2x2 GB of A-Information DDR3 1600 SDRAM, WD 640 GB black HD, Lite-On DVD writer, and an Antec Earthwatts 380 PSU. All of these elements are 1st rate and perform properly. The rebuilt Pc runs Fast and does all she wants it to do. The BioStar motherboard is undoubtedly the weak link in this program and the most probably to require replacement prior to the others. Will go with my usual Gigabyte motherboard in future builds.

Great price with on-board video outs, can serve as a typical home/office Computer or a budget gaming method. Have built quite a few systems with this board and never ever had a problem. Lack a PCI-E x1, only 2 dimm slots for a max of 8GB ram (which is sufficient for the objective of this board) and only 4 USB on the back are the only cons I can find, but nothing at all negative adequate to warrant a four egg rating. Very advised for those price tag conscious builders.

Excellent motherboard for the funds. I installed two sticks of ddr3 ram 1333 Cas Latency 9 volt 1.50 . So when you look in bios memory reads 1066 Cas Latency 7 volt 1.60 . I updated the bios and it did not repair the difficulty. So I manually altered it.

Great value, this board worked excellent for a standard setup. I saved some money by unlocking an additional core in a Sempron 140. Right after making use of the ACC to unlock (Updated BIOS,) I could no longer recover from sleep mode (S3.) Though S3 would function if I disabled the ACC. Other individuals out there have had this issue as well. I believe biostar is aware of the dilemma, but aren't going to repair it simply because core unlocking is technically an overclock feature. Not very certain what to make of this one particular. I only docked 1 egg for the loss of sleep mode. Other manufacturers have unlock with no compatibility problems. It's not a massive difficulty, but if I had identified there was an concern like this prior to purchase, I would have ponied up for a diverse chip or various board. As it stands now, the personal computer was a gift to a buddy anyway and they don't thoughts a lot.

Compact, decently properly laid out board. On board video works nicely adequate for a budget web browsing, homework rig. Lots of attributes. Limited on board SATA flexibility with only 4 ports. CPU cooler fan pins are pretty close to the RAM slots which can make CPU cooler fan cable managment odd. The MB is going in an ATX mid-tower case with bottom mount PSU (Cooler Master Elite 460) and the ATX power cord is stretch do to the 4-pin ATX socket placement.

This board performed as advertised. Was able to unlock Sargas 140 proc to dual core Regor with tiny work. Bios manual is poorly written. Lack of fine adjustment for memory help. Lack of additional pci express slots. But at this cost range it is to be expected. This is a excellent entry level board with the needed power for the economy minded cunsumer.

Functions good for my budget build. Operates as advertised plus I got my DDR3 up to 1600 @ 9-9-9-24 and with the onboard HD 4250 it is more than fast enough for my client. It took me 45 minutes from case open to installing windows when building this Pc. Practically too straightforward. I wanted a challenge.

Anything.. DDR3, AM3, DX10. This tiny board has a small footprint but it has virtually all the superior settings. It worked fantastic from the moment i plugged it in. Had to hassle with nothing. This is a pretty perfect principal Computer for just about anything. Its not ur mainstream gamer but it can handle alot of games. Also a good HTPC.. I would have to actually think about this 1. I cant genuinely off the top rated of my head believe of anything that is a con for this guy. Its pretty sweet that you can Crossfire an add on video card with the onboard video if you ought to feel that you want much more video power. However the onboard video is fairly decent for what it is. I am impressed..

Wonderful board for every days Pc - even excellent for average gaming if you add a video card. Supports all the newest CPUs from AMD. Has HDMI, DVI & VGA and allows for dual displays to be run at the very same time with just the on board video chipset - so fantastic display output flexibility. only two DIMM slots but that is expected at this value point. With 2x2GB kits as low cost as they are and 2x4GB kits nevertheless reasonable this is not too major a deal. Similar goes for lack of 6GB SATA - given that only a couple high finish SSDs will really bennefit from the newer 6GB SATA. Not that we can do a lot about it but AM3 is quite much dead with Bulldozer around the corner. We can't complain due to the fact AM2-three platform have been around for so lengthy unlike Intel that changed sockets with every single new CPU release. Also very sad to see AMD 95W Phenon 945 gone - that was my preferred CPU for a strong but cost effective Pc create :( so I am employing this less costly AMD Athlon II rather to preserve in the 85W thermal envelope. I didn't do something fancy with this board - just added a quad core AMD Athlon II at 3Ghz, 4GB RAM, and a 500GB WD Blue ed. HDD in a fundamental case to make a fundamental office Computer using the on board video. Operate great.

Superior cost, uncomplicated to connect and it worked the initial attempt. Paired with Athlon II Rana, windows 7 installation was a 20 minute breeze, has all the characteristics for a house operate center Computer would ever need and a lot more! Oh, and it looks cool too. As I've only had it just shy of a month, I don't know how extended it will last...hopefully nine years like my last computer system. I didn't purchase it for gaming, (I do console gaming) but if I did, I'm confident it would be fine.

A complete 125w AM3 MB with Sata3 and onboard DVI/HDMI/VGA. Fantastic cost. DVI just outputs a white screen with a vertical black line. The drivers for the onboard graphics card maintain causing windows to hang in the course of boot. And windows keeps updating the drivers from the default VGA adapter to the HD4250 and then hanging at startup (i maintain restoring windows to just before the driver update) I've flashed the bios with the most up-to-date update, I've uninstalled/reinstalled .net attempted three different drivers. can't set up catalyst with out valid AMD graphics drivers installed. Spent all day from 10a-11ᛍpm attempting to get the drivers to upgrade. I sent off an e-help request tonight. I've built numerous systems before and the ATI integrated graphics constantly seem to have a problem. I'm going to stay with Nvidia from now on. I wasn't put off by shopping for a opened box MB as I believed that Newegg tested hardware when it was returned. I don't care that the manual/drivers cd/ I/O shield were gone. I'm annoyed that the integrated graphics aren't performing fully. Manufacturer Response:Sorry for your troubles, suggest that you get in touch with our technical assistance staff to see if we can assist to solve your problem. support@biostar-usa.com or call 626-581-1055 menu two.
