Buffalo Technology AirStation G54 High Power Wireless Router
Cons: -no USB for print server etc-no gigabit ethernet switch-third party antenna RP-SMC connector is a obstructed due to plastic case (take a pen knife to it)

Pros: -built in amp-last gen broadcom chipset for Hyper-WRT-much better quality PCB and components than Linksys-better quality SMPS wallwart.-better in every metric than a Linksys WRT-54GL
Comment:
This is the best Broadcom based router around bar none. It can be flashed with every Hyper-WRT derivative and works exceptionally well with Tomato. It's a much better unit than the WRT-54GL as it has a built in amp to increase ERP way beyond the linksys model.I'm shocked there are no reviews and people in Canada seem unaware of this unit. It's a 1, 2 knockdown punch when pitted against the Linksys WRT-43GLI litterly buy these by the case from ncix as an onsite support tech. I'm constantly replacing Telus DSL routers for simple DSL modems and this router.

best router in this price range. I do a lot of online gaming, and every Dlink and Linksys I used that's under $200 likes to disconnect, freeze, or restart every 10 minutes. This little Bufallo has been on non-stop for the past 2 months, and not a single hiccup. The interface is a bit hard to get used to, though, and after firing through a couple walls the signal strength goes down to about 30% (but that can be expected, most routers do). A great buy if you have a gaming rig plugged right into it, and just have a couple wireless boxes for moderate use

Don't buy. I bought one of these a year ago, one a few weeks back, and now they both don't work. One has a ROM error, and can't do anything. The other one doesn't even start up anymore. I'm now out 120 bucks, and I have no internet on my gaming computer. These routers/access points are hard to set up, and don't even show up 90% of the time. Their faster than the linksys products, but that's the only thing going for them.

It really works! After following the painful instruction, I'm using it as an access point of my upstair network. Installing beside of orignal Wi-Fi modem, was the ''break-point.'' This one provides faster connection speed than USB wireless adapters.

I have 4 of these in operation. I set up a point to multi point network using 4 of these and 2 panels, one yagi and an omni. I set this up for less than half of what a network company wanted. These Buffalo routers work flawlessly. The tech support is excellent. I would recommend this router without hesitation.

One of the most pain-free computing experiences in a while. Plug and go. Very happy with connection speeds. I have had it for over a month and have not touched it since original install. Installation took all of 10 minutes from opening the box to surfing. I have not tested the total range because it works fine wherever I currently need it. Highly reccomend this router versus netgear or linksys

Don't even consider buying another router. I plugged it in and everything worked instantly. It has been running flawlessly for 2 months now. Nice thing about this router/bridge is that is flashable so you could use custom firmware for advanced features only found in $500 routers. Hook this thing to a 24dBi antenna and connect to a wireless isp 10 kms or more away. Can't beat the price for a well built attractive and dependable router.

Can't say enough good things about this router. I had been using Netgear for many years (still like them), but the Buffalo products are quite simply better. Also with this unit you can take advantage of the DD-WRT open source router project. Get it.

I purchased this router for a client after having installed a Linksys WRT54G v6 for 2 mos that went on the blink. Since installation the connection has been excellent and the customer is very happy. I chose this unit after having used an Airstation for an X-box and another for a Surefire Solutions Phone Service VoIP Phone.

Hands Down the best Wireless Router out there. Very fast and it sets itself up. I own a computer business and do a lot of wireless network setups. With Netgear and Linksys, its always a real hassle when trying to connect with DSL. With Buffalo Airstation, you just plug it in and in a minute your up and going. Awesomee!!

Excellent router. Recommened if you are looking for a quality one. Wireless signal is awesome. Reach 125mbps(require user to optimize both their router and network card settings, both device must support this technology). Stay away from D-link or cheap priced brand... Although not always real, but for a router ''you get what you paid for''.

I second the above review. I used 2 of these units as a bridge from a house to a detached garage/office. It was a little quirky to setup but once done the connection was rock solid. The 24X7 tech support is good. 1. Don't set the admin(root) password to anything above 8 characters. 2. When using MAC to register the 2 units via WDS, the format needs the ':' in it (the doc may have said this but I didn't read it). Other than that make sure the wireless setting are matching just as you would in any wireless setup.

This router uses a broadcom chipset making it viably the best router on the market up with linksys. I was a bit sceptacle but after being jerked around by D-LINK, Linksys, and the ever dreaded Net-gear. Linksys and D-Link restarded on me alot. And they have alot of problems with firmware. I got this unit up and going. Flashed the firmware and I havnt even messed with the unit since. The power on this is amazing. I get easy 100 feet of range indoors. Advertised with other routers I just didnt get that. Especially when going through 2 or more walls. Buffalo is definetly worth the money let me tell you because you will never look back once you do.
