Awesome power supply. The cables are quite long which is nice for larger cases. I was surprised when I opened the package and saw that they were all black cables.

This is the second 1 I've bought. Pricey but a incredibly high top quality product. Even the box it comes in is high top quality. Also the thing is extremely quiet. The fan only comes on when it has to, and even when it's spinning, you can just barely hear it if you put your ear appropriate subsequent to the factor. Cables arn't labeled. Not actually a large deal as most are fairly obvious, but would be nice to see a label on the 8 pin connectors. Would undoubtedly buy once more.

Cons:I just wish the cables are long enough for my case(CM HAF-X)

Pros:the sensor on the fan keeps it quiet....

This PSU is rock solid....at first, I though my PSU fan is broken because it is not spinning, then reading some info on the net, found out that there's a sensor that will activate the fan.....

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (CMPSU-850AX) 850W Power Supply
Cons:-ATX 12V connecter could have been a bit longer

Pros:-80+ gold efficiency-Fully modular design-All black cables-Tons of extra cables-High quality unit
Comment:
This is truly one of the best 850w power supplies you can get. 80+ gold, fully modular and seasonic oem. I really love that it came with all black cables, this really helped make my build look much nicer. The only problem I had was the atx 12v connector was a bit shorter then I would have liked, it made it a little more difficult to plug into my motherboard... but that's really a small problem. If you are looking for the best, you can't go wrong with this product.

Has enough power and connectors to meet my wants. Also 5 years warranty is a plus. According to Tom's Hardware review, this unit fail to meet 80+ gold standard. Was thinking of choosing up this unit until I saw the review.

High EfficiencyLowest ripple/noise of anything out suitable nowPretty silentSleek and beautiful cables. (Even the wires under the nylon sleeving are solid black, no far more yellow/red eyesoars peaking via) 120mm fan 鳇 or 140 would have been much better, like on older corsair models) Can get noisey with high watt usage. (larger fan would have been quieter)Only 4 PCI-E plugs. 6 would be nice. When making use of both EPS12V wires, you are limited to TWO PCI-e plugs! I was particularly disappointed to come across out that when working with the second EPS12V cable that you lose TWO PCI-E wires... Come on, corsair. Why so stingy on the wires? Comparable brands in this wattage come with dedicated dual EPS12v's and 4 PCI-E, even up to 6 PCI-E wires! I will need to go out and obtain a EPS12V "Y splitter" to free of charge up all 4 PCI-E now. Thanks Corsair... As if this didn't already cost sufficient. So, 1 egg off for the EPS12V problem, and an additional egg off for lack of PCI-E wires. I'd take a different off for needing to go purchase a splitter but a two-star evaluation wouldn't be fair. So, Beware anyone who requirements Each EPS12V wires, you'll be limited to TWO PCI-E unless you buy a splitter!

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (CMPSU-850AX) 850W Power Supply
Cons:Power switch is upside-down when mounted 'high', EATX12V motherboard connector was hard to connect to mobo, lack of standard molex without adding a 'molex only' cable

Pros:Highly efficient, fully modular - including main mobo cables, variety of cables included, silent when uner 20% load
Comment:
Although I could have kept my old power supply (a 600W Enermax) I wanted something more efficient, with better capacitors. Also keep in mind, if you are shopping for power supplies don't get sucked into buying something too huge. I could have purchased a 1250W for the same price (part of a combo deal) but what needs to be considered is that efficiency drops marledly when power load drops below 20%. The 'sweet spot' is in the 25%-50% range if you are looking for the highest efficiency. Be advised the power supply fan will not activate until the load passes 20%.I appreciated the fact that ALL cables can be disconnected from the power supply. This makes cable arrangement easier. As expected, all main cables are sleeved. I had a bit of trouble getting the EATX12V cable to fit in smoothly to the socket on my ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe motherboard. While I got it in eventually, I'd suggest that you hook this up to the motherboard before installing the CPU cooler. One other thing I found a bit odd was the power switch on the back of the power supply was mounted in such a way so that when the power supply is located at the top of the case you push it down to turn on and up to turn off. A minor thing, and while I appreciate that there are some cases where you may mount the power supply down low and upside down, I would have preferred to have the switch either operate in a more conventional fashion, or have it go right/left. Another minor annoyance was the lack of molex connectors on the power cables. Yes I know that these style connectors are fast becoming obsolete, but in cases with side fans this is still how many are powered. They should have done what they did with the floppy drive power cable, which was to provide a small cable that could be attached to one of the main cables. So to power the case fan I had to attach a molex only cable with a bunch of molex connectors on it, just for one device. Overall though it's a great power supply, runs very quietly, and is highly efficient.

Cons:None

Pros:Secure packagegreat sturdy feelModular cables!
Comment:
Oh man was this package secure. Corsair took every step to ensure maximum protection. The PSU itself was wrapped in a very nice Corsair cloth. The cables were a perfect length for my case but I could see how they could be a bit short for other larger cases. The PSU itself has a very nice, sleek, professional, sexy look and performance wise, it is one of, if not, the best modular 850W on the market.

Modular design, can be mounted up or down. Incredibly quiet. 80 Plus Gold Efficiency Some modular cables a little short. P/S isn't labeled for which cable to plug in so you just go to know which fits where. I went from an 80 % Bronze to this 1, only time will tell if it effects my electric bill at all.

I absolutely love this PSU. Being fully modular, it's easy to work with. When it's time to upgrade this one, I just have to unplug this and put in the new one. No more routing cables until I have to get a new case! YES!Otherwise, Corsair got everything right with this one. Fully modular, single rail, sturdy, high efficiency. Great pro reviews on this. Just need to search google to see.The only complaint I have is that some of the cables are on the short side.

You get what you pay for here - it is a pretty pricy PSU, but it is an amazing one. I have been reading around forums and although it is rated as an 850 watt it can handle what some cheaper 1000 watts can. I am currently running a GTX 580, 2600k, and a 7 fan case with no problems and I still have enough room to SLI. Also love the fact that its modular for cable managment.

Pros:- Modular. Only use the cables you need = less clutter.- Best in class.

I needed more power to add a second HD6870 for a CrossFireX setup so I did quite a bit of research online and after reading a few reviews - there's a particularly glowing one on [H] - I decided to take the plunge.Sure there are cheaper alternatives but you shouldn't cheap out on your PSU.

The packaging on this is sweet. The cords are packed inside of a extremely good Velcro closed pack that you can quickly re-use for one thing later (and keep on your desk without ruining the view). The PSU itself is inside of a incredibly huge pouch; some thing like a belt pouch with draw strings to close the top, only it's really major. The pouch (and thus the PSU) is contained between two molded Styrofoam blocks. The only negative factor that I can say about this PSU is that the cord lengths are a bit on the brief side. I was able to get all but one cord into the side compartment of the NZXT case. My technical understanding of PSUs in specific is average at ideal, so I can't comment on the gritty specifics. I can say that this PSU is usually extremely suggested and you're certainly treated with a item that has, by all appearances, had a lot of care put into it.Longer cords please.

Cons:- Some cables a barely long enough

Pros:- Nice cable management, no unused cables to tie up- Love the cables that came with it, very easy to tie-rap, and don't restrict the flow of air- Great power- Reversible for cases with the power supply in the bottom.- And the best of all, you simply don't hear it at all, the fan sounds like it's not spinning, but it does ;)

Great product, really, no voltage drop  with 6 HDDs, highly overclocked CPU, good video card, 14 USB (about all pluggued in) and 11 fans (4 of thems draw almost 10W each) and a water pump. Great power supply!!!

Impressive style and reviews. This PSU appears to have a design flaw relating to how it wakes up from the motherboard commence signal. Two distinct AX-850 units have had this exact same dilemma, and I've demo'd the dilemma on many systems with brand new motherboards. The AX-850 tests great with a commercial PSU tester, and passes the 'paper-clip test' recommended by Corsair, but is totally unresponsive to the motherboard commence signal in each test systems. Other PSU's work fine. It did function on on a 5 year old P4 method, but who cares?Lots of hassle troubleshooting this, to say the least. I reported it to Corsair who RMA'd it. They sent a brand new unit which also didn't function. Then I discovered out NewEgg wouldn't talk to me because Corsair had replaced the unit. Wanna get a brand new PSU? I'm out the shipping to Corsair and I have a PSU that is useless to me. Not pleased. Very good thing my Antec Phantom 500 still works great. I'll obtain local from now on. Manufacturer Response:If you have not already shipped this PSU, please get in touch with Corsair and arrange an FA-RMA for failure analysis. We'd like to take a appear directly at this PSU and also uncover out what hardware you are testing with. We take complaints like this very seriously. We appreciate you bringing it to our attention and we are really sorry you had issues.External Link(s): Corsair Contact Page|
