It was less expensive than a far better power supply, but I've learned my lesson - don't save $ on the power provide. A tiny over a year after install, surfing the internet when I hear a snap crackle and pop from the box, followed by a big volume of smoke. Fried itself dead (system was effectively ventilated, ran cool.) It has a 5 year warranty but no way I'm going to danger putting one more a single of these in anything I personal. Modular design, in theory is a excellent thing. The modular style, in implementation is nothing but low cost plastic parts that don't go nicely with each other at all. Couldn't even GET the SATA cables to register on the device itself, mainly because they wouldn't stay plugged in to the device. Don't waste your cash on this affordable piece of garbage. You'll end up RMA'ing it back to Newegg, or taking a loss.I've been putting systems together for years now, and this is the absolute WORST PSU that I've run across. Seems to give power just fine. Power switch on the rear broke and it generally on. Seems one thing like that would not pass Excellent Manage. Cheep, partially modular This factor is extremely light weight. I have two 500 watt power supplies and was hoping to upgrade with this, but this feels no heavier then a 550 watt power provide. I've been told that weight is not a defining factor, but I certain would hate to hook this up tp a ũ,000. rig and have it ruined by a limp power provide. I will save this as a back-up in situation a single of the 500 watt supplys goes negative. I do know that you get what you spend for in a power provide. I'll most likely get a unit with a significant single rail as an alternative.

Worked great till 3 days ago when I smelled some thing funny, and all of a sudden, boom. From reading all the other critiques, doesnt' sound like this is built to final. doesn't final extended. Just pony up the extra $ and get a greater PS.

Not a negative price tag for a 700 watt unit. Really short cables. You literally have to strategy where to put elements in the case prior to final assembly or the cables will not reach. Vexing to say the least. My PCI-e cables have a truly sharp bend to enable them to reach from the power provide. I had to do this until I can come across extensions. Why so brief? I would'nt use it on my most demanding gear. I would be apprehensive about utilizing it in Crossfire or SLI. two PCIE energy, modular, really quiet, no cost shipping. Appears like the building where anything connects lacks that "quality" workmanship but then again a single of the price tag leaders with these capabilities. Cables kinda short so be positive case is mid tower or smaller. Pretty fantastic name in coolmax and this unit gets the job accomplished. Wish the SATA cables were longer or if we can acquire cables for this.

Powers everything I throw at it. I have two 500GB Caviar Blue running in raid , a DVD combo optical drive, ATI Radeon 5770, AMD Phenom II X4, and two 1TB external HDD running and it hasn't faltered but. So I am very pleased with this item and when I add additional to it the additional cables that came with it will absolutely help out. Gotta love modular PSU's. none Can't wait to see how this PSU handle Crossfire.

Cable's,Fan. Died following about two min. I purchased this psu mainly because I lately upgraded my gpu and had been having some graphic's concern's I think are associated to getting underpowered. Quite great power provide, haven't had it lengthy but it definitely runs better than my old 450 watt power provide, I would certainly suggest this power supply to everyone. Cables were a little brief, possibly would reach fine typically but I have them operating from behind to help with airflow, I only have two hard drives so I could use 1 cable for every single hard drive (only one particular connector reaches every) and it reaches that just fine.

Its quiet and it runs my comp with has a Q6600, gtx260, 8 gbs of 800 ddr2, 4 120MM fans and a 7200 rpm harddrive. Has been working due to the fact Early October 2008. and its super quiet Only complaint is unplugging the cables on it when its in a tight spot, its hard as h*ll ITS THE Very best Point I HAVE Purchased AND ITS Affordable!

Runs fairly quietly, seems to be kicking out sufficient power. Runs cool, temperature-wise, but at this point I haven't had it extremely long. So far, so very good. The 4-pin molex cables are somewhat short--particularly if you have a mid-tower design. I had to use an extension to reach 1 of my PATA drives. The PSU has modular sockets for four 4-pin molex cables, but they only present two in the box. If you're running a lot of internal devices, you can run out of power connections quickly. The cables required a bit of force to connect in the PSU sockets. I coudn't uncover any information about getting additional modular cables in the manual or on the firm's site.

No LEDs and keeps incredibly cool. Soon after an hour of testing, the capacitors exploded like a machine gun. The unit did not fail safely like any other Power Provide. I've noticed lots of failures with CoolMax and their other merchandise but thought I'd take a chance on this. Sadly, I was mistaken. I have tested the identical hardware with other lower watt PSU's and had no difficulties. My Kill-a-Watt shows I am not even going over 650 watts. I suggest going with an additional brand for reliability at least they won't explode. I take into account this DOA and PSU's really should in no way do this simply because it is extremely unsafe.
