Operates fine...better than on-board...and better than any of their high end cards, which I consider to be buggy garbage.Does a very good job in a Shuttle low-end box.Puts almost everything else Creative makes to shame, which actually isn't saying much. Essentially somewhat colese to my Striker in overall performance. It is nevertheless a Inventive item...and their support stinks, to place it mildly...as does their bloatware. Nicely, my numerous computer systems have 5 Strikers, 1 Claro HALO, and this lowly little Audigy SE. I like all of them. The least expensive of them is the greatest Creative solution. I would stay away from all other Creative items like the plague.

*It fits into the PCI slot*Doesn't want PSU powerႀ-bit sound quality *Horrid previous four hours attempting to get the software program to turn out to be compatible with the sound card*Windows 7 drivers didn't assistance whatsoever *I'm incredibly stressed as I've waited for this for about five days. (I was an Idiot and ordered it on Friday >.<) I'm not certain if I'm just becoming stupid, or I don't know sufficient about sound cards, but I just can't get the computer software to operate. like the equilizer and all the nic nacs. and it sucks! I was sick of receiving distortion with my integrated sound, and granted the sound card works hardware wise, but not getting what I paid to have really blows. Hopefully I get some kind've assistance following I post on inventive's support page.

Lots of nice software package to configure sounds, utilities and updates, got it in three days. Replacing a SB16 card (and AC97 on board) with 500% improvement. Just before the front and rear speakers canceled every single other out, now they perform with each other and the music sounds like it is supposed to. Way much better than AC97 as well. For this price tag and service, you won't uncover anything superior. no XP Pro SP2. If I had additional dollars to invest and intense speakers, I would get the X-Fi. With front and rear speakers with woofers, the Audigy sounds great.

Quite good card, Enhanced the sound of my onboard. When i play games I hear items I by no means heard just before. Sounds crisp with no noise. Black PCB! low power consumption. Wish it had digital audio out, but for the cash this card is a quality upgrade. Newegg is the best!

Decent sound... Finding it setup is a feat for win7....soon after u update to the newest win7 driver the inventive manage panel doesn't detect the card..now that degrades my handle over the card. works very good if your on win7 and don't have a multi speaker setup....if you got a multi speaker setup then forget this card and acquire some thing else trigger once you update the driver the inventive manage panel doesn't operate.

I'm back to this card. Considering that I've had nightmare experiences with the others especially the garbage onboard stuff.Just make confident you use Driver Version 1.04.0065 from Inventive's site. Don't let Windows Come across it automatically for you the drivers. The New drivers disable the "What U Hear" recording function. You can still record what your playing thru cloning the rear speakers to output very same as front ones but there is static white noise although recording, You can't get rid of it. I've tired every little thing. Stick with the old driver they weigh in at ten MB's & function in Win 7 64 Bit. Stable 24x7. No Cons now. Just adore this card. It's funny how a lot of foolish people today say my new USB 2. sounds greater than my old audigy They seriously require to figure themselves out. Yes this doesn't have digital but if you want digital etc. You currently are an audiophile & have an high priced Recivever. For the rest of us analog will do. Besides I can bet you this sounds practically as very good as digital in analog mode as nicely. Never ever go back to onboard there is tons of efi/white noise due to it becoming challenging wired to the motherboard. There will in no way be escaping that. Onboard audio on motherboard's is an Epic Failure. There is nothing at all additional to say. Whoever told you it sounds much better than my Audigy is just flat out lying. It could be different if you use Digital input but like I stated if your on Digital you shouldnt be reading this. That's all This thing goes sturdy for 5+ years. Inventive may have gone shoddy in the pmp market place lately but I trust them fully now for Computer audio no doubt

Easy, difficulty free installation in new Windows 7 Household Premium ࿠ bit) system. It replaced DOA onboard audio on a number of-deficiency new Intel motherboard. I'm not working with it for something fancy so can't comment on any of its "advanced" features. Music sounds fantastic, DVDs sound good. Records (have only utilised line-in) without having any troubles with very good quality results so far. Pretty economical. None come to mind. I ordered this with some trepidation as I've had negative experiences with Inventive goods more than the years. It was the least high priced resolution that met the minimal needs. Hopefully it will prove reputable.

-i was skeptic towards everybody who would say sound cards are worth the cash over integrated, but this card proved it does sound better.-worked great with vista 32 i lately upgraded from vista 32 to 7 64, i spent days asking yourself why my pc became garbage, slower then ever and games had been impossible to play, graphics in games had been forced to minimum and lag spikes plagued each and every game. the last issue on my thoughts was to blame a sound card for gaming performance, but confident enough when i checked each angle software program and hardware it wasnt till i took this sound card out that the challenge went away.also i would get crackling whilst listening to itunes (win7 64) i installed every doable driver for this issue, older version newer versions, vista versions, tried different drivers for my mobo did all types of crazy stuff attempting to get the card to work bring about it does sound far better than my mobo's sound. im not precisely sure if it driver or the actual card but anything just conflicted with this and win 7 64

An OK entry level sound card. Inexpensive. A viable remedy for WinXP x86 users. Driver support on Vista is virtually non existent. Yes there are newer Vista x86\x64 drivers nonetheless functionality has been purposely lowered on Vista whilst making use of any card below the Sound Blaster X-Fi. The attributes that this card offers in WinXP will not be able to be seen in Vista. Creative has purposely sabotaged their drivers as to force you to get new hardware each time a new Windows operating technique is released. This is not speculation but truth and Inventive themselves have admitted that this is a "business choice". I have provided this a single egg since no matter how amazing or innovative a piece of hardware is without having suitable driver help it doesn't matter (just ask Intel). Things are hard all more than, cash is tight but Inventive purposely sabotaging their drivers to force folks to upgrade and acquire newer much more costly hardware is totally one hundred% unacceptable. Do a Google search for "Creative Daniel K" for the whole story on this. I own two Creative sound cards at the moment (one getting a 赨 X-Fi) I will pick one particular of their competitors next time instead. Inventive have brought this on themselves with deceptive organization practices and awful driver support.

effectively the software program it comes with is nice if you have a song that has static or distortion in it there are options to take that out this is my 1st sound card and i also purchased Inventive FATAL1TY 3.5mm gold-plated Circumaural Gaming Headset with this card and i have never heard a much better set up. but i did spend quit a whilst tweaking the settings and alternatives to for the greatest all around sound i could get (for games rap, rock, nation, techno) and i have a few presets when i just want to flat out jam to some types of music the only con i have located is that if you turn the WAVE all the way up and you attempt to max almost everything out there is alot of distortion but as i stated above i tweaked about for quit a whilst and i got mine sounds better than something i have ever heard EVER it has incredibly powerful jacks i have tripped over my headset cord quite a few a lot of a lot of instances and spin my personal computer tower about sideways and the jacks have not broke or ripped out and the headset is nonetheless working also. lots of good software program that i use alot very superior sound ideal i have heard mixed witht he headphones that i got with the card if i fell into a time machine i would but them each over once more and suggest to my buddies that payed 100$ for a sound card to get this as an alternative there my be a much better card there perhaps much better headsets but for the same ammount of funds you most likely wont find anything any far better unless what you discover is refurbished.

It outputs noise that could maybe be misconstrued as sound .. . . THE DRIVERS, THE TECH Help, and finally the card itself. The drivers are unbelievably poor, they crash when the personal computer begins up, and after you relaunch them, by disabling and re-enabling the sound card in the device manager, they perform .. . . for a though until the inevitably crash once more and then you have no sound. The bundled software program is just as bad also. The sound echos horribly beneath default settings, I do not have the ideal speakers in the planet their a 90 dollar set of two.1 logitech speakers, so their not bad. but even the simple windows and realtek drivers didn't make them echo like I was in a cave. Lastly we get to the card itself, which will randomly disable then re-allow itself and then trigger the drivers to crash. DO NOT Buy THIS Product! DO NOT Acquire THIS Product!

If you are making use of XP, the card rates a 5 as the sound is good and it has some fairly neat bundled applications. If you have windows 7, the "what you hear" function is deactivated so you can no longer record what you hear. I have grow to be increasingly dissatisfied with Windows 7. When I installed it, I lost "what you hear", Outlook express, and much more. In the end, I gained extremely little of note.

It sounds amazing for the value. If you're just an typical gamer or want to listen to your music this is ideal. Finding anything else would just be unnecessary. None but. To those who say not to waste your dollars, they are only mad simply because they bought the card just before reading the program specifications. It specifically says SP2 for XP residence.

This card was heads and tails above onboard sound. Immediately after 4 months it started to bring about my entire system to "skip" through game play, music play back ect. reinstalled windows, didnt enable. I took the card out. no concerns. place it back in, skipping resumed... Pretty clear. Invest the additional $$ and get a low finish xonar tried four diverse drivers and none of them alleviated the challenge. but for the price tag i guess im only a tiny upset, not too bad.

This is a wonderful card for the dollars...and it's name brand. The sound quality is awesome for the value and the full surround support makes it even better. When I upgraded the drivers and computer software, I'm pretty confident that it was essentially a downgrade; functionality seemed to go missing in the method (plenty of looking, it wasn't just moved). There are a couple of glitches, but it appears to be connected to the Effects, possibly other settings; I just make positive they are turned off or set to simple settings, nothing fancy. I bought this as a replacement for the exact same exact card mainly because I thought that it was faulty. It turned out that it was an problem with the software program or driver (as described in the cons) so a replacement almost certainly wasn't needed.I don't know why Inventive did what they did with the software and drivers, but it absolutely knocked the card down a peg or two and that's why it only gets three stars; even with the price in thoughts.

Awesome replacement for onboard sound, i purchased a couple of these to replace onboard sound on numerous motherboards.Has 7.1 and can register sounds effectively in quite a few games. Could under no circumstances uncover a low-profile bracket for these I have the worst attainable luck when it comes to onboard sound. I had motherboards from asus to gigabyte to msi you name it... i could never ever ever get onboard drivers operating for them.

I can confirm this to everyone that this card functions with Win 7 x64/ Vista x64. Here is the process - Either You can use Windows Update in Win 7/ Vista & it will install all the needed drivers (with bloatware). If you take this route you will NOT have the choice of "What U Hear" recording function. To get back that alternative + get a simple working driver minus any bloatware. Go to Creatives internet site, search for the driver under Vista x64, driver version/name - "SB24_VTDRV_LB_1_04_0065A" This is just a fundamental driver & offers you the choice of "What U Hear" recording (without any static!) I hate to place this card back once again in my personal computer coz it's produced by "Cr3tiv3"! But...I've looked long & Difficult at several Many other sound cards....All the price range cards generate a "Static sound" when using the "Stereo Mix" recording function. This feature is of uttermost value to me, to restore to my old casettes/vinyls. I'm a cheapo & don't wanna purchase/ hunt for CD's of old songs which I have. I looked at HT Striker/ Auzen X-Raider but they are all โ+. They develop the same audio good quality of 24 bit/ 96 Khz & recording at 16 bitኌ Khz. I haven't utilized these cards since like I mentioned I can\'t get myself to investing additional than ฮ on a sound card. I've looked at other corporations affordable fundamental cards... eg "PC Sound 7.1 by S-Tech" "XS71" and so on etc. Yes they present assistance for Stereo Mix...but I have no notion if that's distortion free of charge...If I get those & they produce distortion though recording "Stereo Mix"....I don't wanna run about returning stuff and so forth. My life is also short for this type of garbage. I'm using "Cr3etiv3" 7.1 speakers now also...I hate using them only because of it's name...but they have carried out the job for four+ years. Like I said if I purchase a new sound card I'll certainly get a new speaker set also...but not understanding what the new stuff will create (without spending a lot more than โ...) No Thanks, I'll stick to what ain't broke. As substantially as my dislike for C...(the reason getting I've purchased new products from them but their new goods excellent control is incredibly poor eg. pmp player & webcam) I was left with a extremely sour taste in my mouth employing those merchandise & swore to myself under no circumstances once again acquire their stuff. Nonetheless points which work don't mess

Low profile is nice to let your gfx card breath. The Most significant pro for me was the simple integration into vista. Installation was a piece of cake! I didn't even want to use the install CD if I didn't want. Did not clash with on-board sound on Biostar T45. The sound is not pristine but if your like me who has junk speakers and can't understand good sound who cares? No headphone jack. I don't use five.1 but I would like a two.1 and a headphone for simplicity. It's inexpensive, produces sound... I'm happy. When a thing at least operates it's a fantastic item to me.
