Have not heard several. Have heard as well quite a few. I just had these shipped overnight. They will be arriving tomorrow. Regrettably, I did not appear at the pages and pages of evaluations for this memory that are in all probability 80% unfavorable. All I have read is that they can be DOA, bring about plenty of BSOD's, and will in all probability stop operating immediately after 6 months top to a number of RMA's that I have read horror stories about. I am trying to figure out if I really should just reject the delivery and order distinct RAM. We'll see what happens....

Quick sufficient for what I do Had to RMA the initial set when I experience memory errors after about eight months. Then yet again had memory errors with the second set about a year later. No much more warranty, so will have to throw the set away and attempt something different. I most likely won't get any longer crucial ram, not dependable sufficient for long term use for me.

I have owned two of these sticks for a lot more than two months now and all i can say is that they operate beautifully. they enhanced my computer system speeds by a lot. Soon after the 2nd month, my personal computer started BSOD'ing me. studying the error, it stated it was caused by "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT", which told me a single or much more of my memsticks are failing. I was able to isolate the one particular Ballistix stick and removed it. my computer runs fine now. i thought that my year and a half old ADATA sticks had been failing, but it was in fact the Ballistix. As i have stated, A single of the sticks failed. the other stick is nevertheless operating. on the other hand, this just makes me think that its only a matter of time till it will fail as well. let's hope i'm wrong.

Looks good. Tight timings. In the final 18 months I have owned a 2x1GB Important Ballistix pair, and 2 sets of 2x2GB Important Ballistix. They have been running at the stock speeds, with the correct voltage. All three pairs have failed. Some pairs lead to errors in memtest, some pairs have brought on a reboot in memtest. I applied to like Vital, but my most up-to-date create employed memory from a different organization. I can't see this trend changing.

Oh it's wonderful when it functions 7 months afterward, one of this sticks is giving me errors and BSOD's. I felt the stick, and it's actually, truly. hot. Now to be fair I run my computer all day just about every day and I game a lot, but just before this I had two budget, 1gig Kingston sticks and they worked fine and didn't run hot. Don't obtain this. I purchased this back when it was ฽ and I regret it. Picture obtaining it with DDR2 RAM prices inflated to 2.five occasions the quantity.

I Can't comment on ease of overclocking, because I haven't felt the require to overclock RAM, yet. It's usually been easier to adjust the clock on my GPU when the want arises to push the performance ;)

Runs fine immediately after BIOS DRAM settings are set manually. It seems that the SPD settings had been not read properly by my motherboard (Asus P5Q-Deluxe), so I had to set BIOS DRAM settings manually. See my earlier post about the DRAM settings. I forgot to say that my BIOS default Auto DRAM voltage setting was 1.8. The suggested by Critical voltage is two..

None (see Cons) Apparent high failure rate; BSoDs; pricey It's tough to review RAM, considering that it is possibly the one element of a Pc's hardware which is most finnicky and difficult to troubleshoot. On the other hand, that being mentioned, I bought two different types of RAM for my workplace PCs. One particular brand has provided me no difficulty at all. Even so, two PCs received the Critical Ballistix 4GB Kit ƒ x 2GB DDR2 800 CL4) and due to the fact that time, both have been prone to BSoDs and several memory-specific errors (read/write failures, address violations, and so on.). At initially, I was thinking it may just be a faulty RAM stick. But not just one particular -- all four had been undesirable. I don't appear to recall possessing troubles with Critical prior to, so I wonder if this is specific to this particular SKU, but I would very advise avoiding these, unless you have dollars to blow. Buyer beware.

Affordable. Newegg delivered with its customary speed and common excellence. Bought a 2x2 GB kit for an XP machine I was upgrading to Windows 7. Motherboard is an ASUS M4A78 Plus. All worked fine in XP, but I kept getting weird memory-related errors and crashes in Win7. Ran memtest and a major section at about the 1500MB mark was dead on the second stick. Working by way of the RMA process now, but it's a discomfort in the rear that I'd rather not have had. I'd say this is isolated, but I see a lot of other reviewers with the similar dilemma. Not certain if their QC is taking a month off or what, but I'd appear elsewhere for inexpensive RAM. Batting .500 is great in baseball, not in computers.

Runs cooler to the touch than preceding Ballistix 2GB kit ƒ.0V vs. two.2V). Was in a position to run at four-4-four-12 timings at stock DDR2 800 speeds on two.0V...for about 3 months. Upgraded from a 2GB kit to this 4GB kit just before MW2 came out. Installed and ran fine at low-latency timings in an ABIT IP35 Pro. Right prior to Christmas, started having BSOD's, random game crashes and, ultimately, a corrupted OS. My rig is in the basement where it in no way gets above 16C in the winter and the case is a Coolermaster CM Stacker 830 so cooling is not a challenge. I should have identified much better than to order these given the poor reviews right here on Newegg. At half the current cost, it looked like a great deal at the time. The old Ballistix kit that I had contained Samsung chips which have been flawless (back to making use of those now...excellent factor I kept them). Not sure who tends to make the chips in these cruddy DIMM's. I was really disappointed that Crucual would put out such poor good quality in a supposedly 'premium' item. Keep away from this memory and attempt one thing that other people have had great luck with.

Performs wonderful initially Like several other individuals have said, it doesn't work for long. I got about 5 months out of it prior to it began to blue screen me. My fault for not reading the reviews here ahead of I bought it, but Vital ought to be ashamed for selling this defective item. Read the countless evaluations of persons possessing the very same dilemma. If you get far more than six months out of it, you're fortunate, but it will start to malfunction just like everybody else. Luckily I knew precisely what was going on when the blue screens and memory associated application crashes began. Removed this RAM, have not had a issue due to the fact. Not even worth exchanging as I know it will have the exact similar issue a couple of months down the road. Avoid this product.

when these sticks operate, they function fantastic and rapid. right after a couple of months of running this memory, either 1 or at times each sticks would go poor, even following altering the voltage to 2. and timing to 4-4-4-12 as is what is recommended for them, and still, they would go bad. I have gone through 3 sets, and even though they have a warranty, I nevertheless have to spend shipping to send them in for a replacement. I have come to the point of just going with another brand of memory that is recognized to run additional stable than these.

Operating smoothly for very some time... and Crucial's customer service was as valuable as i'd anticipate. and i also wish i purchased additional when it was on sale at ุ A single of the sticks fried... but i got a warranty replacement within a couple of weeks... just ran slow until then. In order to get a replacement, they either charge you for it, or make you send yours 1st... It seems that because it was their failure, they would cater more to the client.

This is quick RAM that works as advertised - until it stops. I bought 2x2GB sticks in March of ཅ, and 1 of them went belly-up just final week. Blue screen right after blue screen, until I removed the two Essential sticks, at which point the system righted itself and hasn't had a different issue. According to the NewEgg site, RMA isn't an selection, so I'm stuck getting paid for some thing that lasted less than a year. Not optimal.I've been a Critical client for several years, but this has soured me on their products somewhat.

Worked great for pretty much a year. Memtest shows tons of errors on three of my sticks. I have one last stick of ram in my method that is now starting to lead to lockups and crashes. I lowered the FSB and up the voltage Ʈ.1V. Hoping that may enhance stability a bit. Most most likely a feeble attempt.
