Very good efficiency initially. Died 9 months following buy. My pc started periodically BSODing. It progressivley got worse till my system would BSOD right after only 3-5 min. Ran some diagnostics and found the RAM to be at fault. Be cautious purchasing this memory. I contacted crucial to get a replacement which they are sending (though I have to pay the shipping to send the bad stick back to them) with no hesitation from them. Nonetheless they are sending a replacement that is the very same "build" so based on the other evaluations here and on other sites it looks like I have 6-9 months just before it will be dead. Important also told me that my "build" is the fixed one particular, that they had been having a high failure rate with the first develop and since revised it with a lower voltage. Mine had the lower volatage and failed....

1] It has a heat spreader, which is really useful if consumers want to overclock it.2] Memory is largely basic to set up, the Ballistix being no exception. I just popped it in and loaded my Pc, operating now at 8GB.three] It came with a no cost orange T-shirt saying "Crucial Memory Hawg," with the head of a pig with wings and two Ballistix memory sticks (the memory sticks positioned as if they were the bones behind the skull, symbol of death). 1] The heat spreader does not completely cover the memory sticks like my A-Data mems do. this possibly may collect dust and lint, but I won't say something because I haven't owned this lengthy adequate to tell. 1] most memory sticks operate as they must, under normal factory settings. If you do not program on overclocking these sticks, then you would save additional funds acquiring more affordable memory without having heat spreaders.2] these Crucial Ballistix 4GB memsticks with heat spreaders seriously looked good in the photos shown on newegg, but I was a small disappointed when i saw that the heat spreaders had been basically difficult metal sheets on both sides. not that it matters, they operate excellently (is that a word?)

Low CAS Ɣ)Integrated smoothly with mobo (Gigabyte) Value was greater than I paid 2 years ago. :( I initially buy a set 2 years ago when I totally updated my system. Immediately after a lot tweaking I determined that it was most stable at 800 mhz. Whilst it functions nicely at 1066, beneath prolonged loads the program would crash. It is most likely a cooling problem considering that the sticks are fairly close together with the heat shields. I bought an extra set as I move over to Windows 7 64-bit. So far this set is operating as nicely as the last. The major thing to recall is to set the voltage of the memory to 2.0V. My mobo defaulted at 1.8V and the memory is much less than stable at that voltage.

Rapidly! Appealing heatsinks. Like so several others, this RAM began to fail for me after 4 to 5 months of usage. I began seeing intermittent blue screens and crashes in Windows 7 and occasional failures in Memtest86+. If you happen to get a set that works, this memory is appealing and fast. However there appears to be an concern where 1 or both sticks are extremely most likely to fail after a few months usage.

I have been working with this memory for more than a year now with no problems. I havent overclocked this machine at all, but I run it nearly fanless with the exception of a large variable speed case fan. In a GIGABYTE GA-MA770 I have not had one crash because this machine was built. I have no complaints about this memory, save the value. None The price on this item is WAY to high in my opinion. I paid only ่ dollars for this memory a year ago from newegg and now its practically 贄??? I wanted to pick up a couple extra sticks for 8gb total, but I will be going elsewhere mainly because the value is doubled. I understand this is older memory and that everyone is utilizing DDR3 now but, twice the value??? Come on newegg, you can do superior than that.

Runs wonderful, when it runs. 2nd RMA.... Bought this memory for one build due to it's reputation & mfg's reputation, but it failed in the first month If my memory serves me properly. I purchased unique memory for that machine and no issue and RMA'd them. When the replacement arrived I put the set away for fairly a whilst. I just utilized the set on a new construct once again, set it to the EPP1 advised settings (OC the CPU but not the RAM) and it appeared to perform fine. Now right here I am a few months later and the replacement set fails again!!! Right here we go once more, RMA a second time. I hope that this is not usual for this memory, I had hoped to steer clear of spending additional once more. My board supports the EPP settings( EPP1 four-4-four-12 2T at 1.9v & 2.0v both tried) so selecting the optional tighter settings were uncomplicated to set up that way. I tested with Memtest86 and there had been numerous failures (windows would not boot, even in safe mode), I tried the fundamental default settings ƕ-five-5-18 at 1.8v & 1.9v) to see if it may well have necessary fine tuning at those tighter settings and they nevertheless failed.

Nice and fast, runs at advertised settings. This is plenty of RAM for most needs. My very first batch had one bad stick, passed Memtest but via trial and error located that one stick was the trigger of random bluescreens. More than a year later I lastly do the RMA via Important. They replaced each sticks due to the fact I had forgotten which was poor, and now I'm operating at optimum levels. The service was wonderful, and as long as these hold out I'll continue to be entirely satisfied.

This is the second pair that I've ordered for my pc. I ordered the initially pair about two years ago and its still working fine. I originally ordered Vital RAM because their website guaranteed this certain set worked with my motherboard.Great buy. None. Its got a very good response time for its cost. I've had no troubles with this ram considering that I've had it. It is DDR2 and 800mhz. By now this set is fairly outdated by newer technologies(DDR3). Even so, if you're looking for one thing that matches these specs, its a great deal.

It worked fine for just over a year. Following just over a year and 1 of the two modules failed. Had to RMA when I first got this due to the fact Vital was sending out a previous version that did not meet the specs. Important just ain't what it applied to be. There was a time when I only purchased Vital ram; no more.

Ran like a beast, till it died. Died following about 9 months of use at low (automatic) speed settings, and much less than a month at "recommended" settings. If you run this at the listed timings, don't expect it to last long at all. This RAM runs HOT. I've got this replaced twice by Critical, paying for the shipping each time.Just read other evaluations. This stuff kicks the bucket following three-9 months (depending on usage). All of the excellent reviews are inside short ownership. Give it some time and see. Or greater however, DON'T Purchase THIS STUFF.I'm not certain what happened to Essential's excellent. The "heat spreaders" are glued on! Not only that, they changed all of the new sticks to 8 chip modules rather of 16 chip just to save some cash. Not a major deal until they fail to change any advertisements, photos, or even the model numbers. They market it as the identical RAM!

At the time they were the finest performance/price value. Performed properly till they died. two sticks are still going powerful, two have died. It has been 10 months. I haven't bothered to send them in but but I'll get about to it this week. No overclocking, high end 800 watt power sup., medium-high finish case with excellent ventilation channels... and they die in much less than a year. P5Q-Pro, e8300. I'm not confident why I maintain going back to Vital Ballistics RAM. I had two other stickies die on me just before these in my last comp. I'm going to see if I can RMA these... but in the future I'm staying the hell away from Vital Ballistics RAM. I may attempt some of their other RAM but not the Ballistics line. That's 4 of 6 sticks dying within a year (overall of ballistics). They look great on paper but have truly let me down.

When it runs it does a excellent sufficient job. They ran fine for the past five months or so. I have been getting the exact same troubles some others have had. These sticks run too hot and randomly crash my personal computer. If I MemTest it proper away immediately after a crash, I get errors. If they cool down they pass fine but factors are still slow. I've been at my wit's end attempting to figure out what was wrong with my laptop or computer till finally I could get the sticks to fail memory tests, which reaffirmed my initial thoughts. I will be obtaining a new set. I'd recommend you do the exact same.

runs---- ----but not at 4-4-four-12Will not even post at 4-four-four-12Had to use other memory to manually alter the timings and voltage to get it to run. Will run a tad over 2 volts, but the tightest timings it will run is at five-four-4-12. It really decreased my machine's memory throughput. I have utilised vital due to the fact working on 486 machines with total satisfaction. I even paid a higher price for the name this time about, for compatibility's sake.Went to crucial site, plugged in my motherboard and came up with this model. It is a shame that they would let some thing as inferior as this get on the market. Other memory is mushkin 2x2 gig, 4-four-four-12. two volt.runs as advertised.

Working at two.2V 4-four-4-12... Lastly Thats .3v greater than most call for and I had to set the +.3v and the four-4-4-12 timing manuallyAppears clear this is what is needed. No Idea why it isn't presented this way. Immediately after manually adjusting the voltage to way-hi at two.2v and making the manual timing settings, works just fine. No much more failures of memtest in Vista. Nevertheless, at 2.2v will it last? Remain tuned...Also fascinating that two.two was the suggested settings on the ram this new version replaced. My investigation indicates it just wants volts. Non-negotiable.

No difficulties once BIOS DRAM settings are adjusted manually. From quite beginning, ever growing frequency of Technique Error 鲦) crashes until BIOS DRAM settings were switched from Auto and adjusted manually. I have Asus P5Q-Deluxe motherboard that did not configure BIOS DRAM settings properly with default Auto set. System crashed far more and far more frequently until after about six months I set DRAM manually to five-5-5-12 for max stability (BIOS default was at 5-5-five-18). Have not tried 4-four-4-12 but, but these are the settings suggested by Vital for max performance and are on the Ballistix sticker. The important number in my case appears to have been changing the ཎ' to ཈'.

Purchased four sticks for 8GB. My 1st batch worked for a little although, about 6 months, prior to I started finding problems. On 2nd replacement set now. All 8GB have been replaced twice now. On set 1, when it started failing, MemTest86+ reported nothing. So, I thought it was my other hardware. I replaced every little thing in my computer. Nonetheless failed. Then after a couple of weeks, Memtest86 started reporting the failures. More than the course of 3 weeks, all four sticks ƘGB) failed. I had everything replaced under warranty. three months later, all four of the new sticks have failed. I now have a 3rd set in retail packaging I am staring at questioning if it is even worth the trouble. On a side note, all the hardware I replaced the very first was put into a an additional machine, with Corsair memory, and almost everything has been running rock solid for half a year.I believe there may possibly be a heat dilemma (even though I am not overclocking). I've noticed I the troubles start when I start working with Photoshop a lot additional, because that program will use adequate memory to put all the sticks to the test. I've noticed also those sticks get seriously hot, and they are so close together, I can't see how air can get around.

Excellent performance, while they worked. Started having random BSOD right after about five months of use. Method was unusable following 6 months. Immediately after replacing them with a new set of ram (another manufacturer) the system has been running stable for a little bit over a year. It's a gamble and given that I'm performing this assessment now, soon after lengthy time soon after the original purchase I'm wondering how a lot of folks got BSOD after performing their evaluation and never ever bothered to update the text and egg-rating. I have cricial memory on my other older desktop (working nicely for over 6 year now), and my netbook (working properly for over 10 months now) it's just the ballistix series that I encountered difficulties with.

The ram runs great till it dies. This is my 4th set because I purchaced this ram over 2 years ago. Just a week ago I got the bsod, ran memtest and positive enough errors. Btw the ram was @ 400MHz four-4-4-12 two.0V. So i referred to as crucial, and the guy suggested some of their lower end ram...Then I got a supervisor on the line and he suggested cooling over the ram. Far more FANS IN MY CASE?! No thank u, if i will need to invest $$ to maintain the ram alive at advertised specs then I'll take my $$ elseware. He also told me that the advertised specs are basically overclocked specs. So I put some pampers on the ram and its at the moment running stable @ 400MHz 5-five-5-18 1.8V In closing the worse component of this is not the continually dieying ram but the arrogant and failing tech support. Great luck to u all who claim the ram is wonderful. I hope it lasts.

Performs well; stable when it works. Built two identical PCs in April ཅ. Both use this RAM. Mine has been RMAd twice for failing (erratic blue-screening, freezing, and so on. with different error messages every single time; tested with memtest, errors galore). My fiancee's failed once soon after about 9 months. Just failed again nowadays. One stick has errors in memtest, and the PC won't even boot with the other by itself. That makes 4 failures within 18 months. No thanks. Don't touch this stuff. It's not worth the headache. When it works, it's just fine; I do a lot of gaming. But it each 6-9 months, it fails. And going without a PC for the couple of weeks it takes to RMA the stuff is getting old.Not even going to bother this time; just getting a different brand and throwing this RAM in the trash.
