This factor is quiet, fast, and makes a best boot drive for a first time solid state. Modest capacity but hey Solid States are costly Make positive you run this in the correct mode in your BIOS, im sitting at a 7.9 WEI easy correct now.

This thing is rapidly and that is the only reason to acquire one of this. Cost but what can you do. Like i said the only reason to get 1 is if you want programs that are installed on the SSD to open instantly and for windows to boot up faster. The windows welcome screen is like a flash of lighting that you though you saw but are not positive of. It takes about 1-2 seconds from the start of that welcome screen for my technique to be fully operational. For individuals that say nothing has changed i assume they just did not do there homework just before installing this.

Entirely SilentFastBoots up Windows 7 in seconds Not very as rapid as advertisedPricey Great starter SSD - fully silent (will make you want to throw out your old cylinder HDD). Slightly slower seq read/write speeds than advertised, but nothing to shake a stick at...why would you shake a stick at your SSD anyway? Weirdo.

I use 1gb HDD for storage and pagefile. Now using 37gb of space but organizing on Registry hack to move temp files and user files to HDD which ought to totally free up one more 4gb. I have been waiting for the value to come down and reliability to go up. I read tons of critiques and see numerous SSDs failing following a short time. Read a lot of critiques on Vital and they seem to be solid. Notice overall efficiency on windows start off up and apps.

boot time blew me away, shut down pretty much instantaneousness. my Windows Knowledge Rating stayed at 5.9 which was a key disappointment. my 7200 hard drive had the exact same score which was by far the lowest on my program. my objectives were two-fold. quicker boot occasions, which at this point, way surpassed my expectations. I also expected a considerable improvement to my Windows Encounter Rating in which I am sadly disappointed. I know it has to do with the sorry write speed of 75 MB/sec, but I won't be writing to this tiny factor quite often. as long as I'm not 1 of the unlucky couple of like many of the OCZ customers appear to be, I feel I will be a incredibly content camper for a really long time making use of this product.one other note. the cradle I purchased to install this into my dvt7-3000 doesn't really fit. I feel the drive is just a little bit taller than a normal challenging drive even though they claim the exact same specs. now I'm going to have to drill the holes in the cradle a little to make it fit. just believed I'd throw that out there. I'm sure this is going to be the exact same with any SSD and is not a slight at Essential.

Meets with all expectations, and functions as desired. Absolutely nothing wrong with the drive, and it's solid and powerful. Plugged it in by way of 6G/s connections, and it was off and operating. I don't see rather the I/O numbers listed when testing, but it's not off sufficient for me to complain by any indicates. It may be a sticking point for others, but once more, the differences are really minimal. Wonderful drive, and glad I purchased it for the new develop. Everything really runs quicker, and I don't know how I resisted acquiring an SSD for so lengthy. In no way once more - good for an OS boot drive!

I am amazed at this small GIANT! Put into my new Saber-tooth X58, recognized on initial boot. Switched to AHCI mode. Installed Windows 7 64 bit in 6 minutes 37 seconds! WOW! This factor loads quicker then you can click. No brackets included. Only being held in by 2 screws suitable now. I had to drill a hole in my Antec Full tower since the drive is so tiny that the pre-produced holes don't line up. Would it genuinely be that tough to incorporate a bracket? If your seeking for an amazingly quick boot drive. This is your ticket!

Effortless install. Make positive you do some reading on SSD's(as others have stated). 7.9 WEI score with ahci enabled. Once again, like others have mentioned, no bracket. Going from 10k raptors in raid I do see an improvement. Not very what I expected(no WOW factor) but it is quicker. 64gb is too small for my win7 install and WoW. I`m gonna watch for another on sale and raid em.

This is a fairly swift drive, the Windows 7 install took a small longer then expected, but boot times are at about 15-20 seconds. Swift application loading which is handy for some of those more demanding applications. You can surely tell a big distinction between loading stuff off this SSD then working with a HDD. Not *as* quick as I thought it would be, I read alot of hype about boot speeds taking 10 seconds, everything is lightning fast and instant. Its pretty excellent, but I dont want to exaggerate. Its quick, does it nonetheless load points? Yes, is it a brief load time, considerably shorter. Don't anticipate practically instant, but do expect to see a efficiency acquire. For some reason this drive gets a 5.9 rating in my Windows Knowledge, which is the similar that my prior 1.5TB 7200 RPM 64mb Cache got, I've read that others have gotten significantly greater, like 7.8-7.9, maybe every single drive is diverse, but I'm not seeing those speeds, now just before you might feel its my hardware, I dont believe so. Motherboard: Gateway X58CPU: Overclocked i7Ram: 9GB DDR3Video: GTX 260Harddrives: 1.5TB, 750TB, dual 250GB (addition of this SSD also)Pretty rapid personal computer, I see the improvements, I just feel like I could be missing out on one thing, its not quite as a lot of an incredible step up as I thought it would be. Is it worth the income? Depends on what you do on your laptop, if you multitask and want quick response, positive, if you would rather have it be a bit slower, grab a 2tb drive and pay 30 bucks less then this, I'd take the 2tb harddrive to be honest. Hope this helps if you are thinking about getting!

Plenty of space for Win 7 Ultimate 64bit, Microsoft Office Pro 2010, CS3, AND a bunch of other programs I use on a everyday basis. Launching a program is pretty much instant, and my boot time decreased significantly. I even put 64bit iTines on this factor and it loads so a lot quicker. I wish they actually gave you the full 64 GB instead of the 59GB or whatever. I guess that'll in no way alter. So smaller and light. Feels like a toy when you take it from the box. the bracket that I had didn't fit, but I didn't definitely need a bracket for one thing this small anyway. Just tucked it away inside my case.

A lot of space for Win7 install plus a couple of games. The read speed is great. The write speed is not the best, but knew what i was obtaining into ahead of hand. Wish the size was bigger, but will get a second after awhile. I really like it! should have got two!

Rapidly. So far dependable. (used for 3 months now as boot drive) Price but that is all SSD's. Installed Windows 7 OEM and all applications on it. Setting up the machine to have all write operations (logs, temp files, and so on.) was a discomfort and you actually have to search the net to locate great instructions. But machine boots up super rapidly and applications load in a blink of an eye.SSD's are certainly worth the cash if you hate waiting for the OS and apps to boot.

Use it for Windows, programs that need speed, and Crysis. Everything else going on the HD. I'm finding the full 275 Mb/s read speed, and about 75 Mb/s write. But that's okay for a boot drive. I got it on sale here, and I would appreciate to RAID two together intead of springing for a 128 Gb. Not worth docking an Egg, but I'm not finding the 300+ advertised speed over my sata 6 connectionto my ASUS Rampage III Gene. Could be settings, but i just built my rig so you know how it is... Very Quickly just as advertised. Hooked it up to a ASUS internal expansion card with SATA three inserted in a PCI Express and the mixture provides five. GB/s speed.Crystaldiskmark rated the empty SSD at 345. Speeds slowed down a bit once loaded with my OS, but still incredibly quick. WEI provides this drive a 7.9 No internal mounting bracket, but Newegg sells a servicable bracket that works well for Ŭ.99 and totally free shipping so no large deal. Exceptional boot up speed. No troubles as all. If you are like me and do not like waiting minutes and minutes for a commence-up and like your most used applications to jump up when you click, then get this SSD or 1 like it. SATA 6gb/s does ake a distinction. Also, a 1,000,000 + expected life span? Wow...

Purchased as the main drive for an HTPC - operating system and applications. A secondary drive is used for data storage (WD20EARS). Runs quiet, quick (< 10 seconds boot time with build). Great option for a first SSD (my first :)) backed by a quality-build manufacturer.
