i have one for win7 and one for apps/game and they work without any hassle, of course even before the 3rd gen they weren't the faster ones but it was the best bang for the buck and without any bug

I purchased this drive because it seemed to be the perfect balance between price/size/speed. I use this exclusively for OS (Win 7) and all my applications, so write speed isn't really a factor. After a month, it still boggles my mind how fast the computer boots and how fast applications launch.I would highly recommend this drive as a dedicated OS/applications drive to anybody.

Quick! SATA 6gb is really nice. Loads Windows 7 in mere seconds, and most programs pretty much instantaneously. (Pending on the rest of your set-up) Still a bit spendy, but If you hate waiting for issues to load (like me), then it's properly worth it! The Crucial brand is a subsidiary of Micron Technology. Micron and Intel generate NAND memory together via a joint venture called IMFT. This means when you get a Vital drive you are obtaining the very same superior NAND memory included in Intel SSD's. IMFT's manufacturing procedure was recently reduced to 25nm which makes their NAND the most advanced memory on the marketplace. Intel durability for a budget price? Micron recently signed a supply agreement with OCZ. In a few quarters OCZ will begin to use greater excellent NAND ram.

Amazing little drive I have to say. Windows 7 boots in 12 seconds flat. Programs do seem to load much faster and the wait times between levels in games seem much shorter. For the price when it was on sale it was a great deal and I've read that the Crucial SSD's should be fairly reliable. Overall I'm very happy with the drive and hopefully it should last a long time.

J'ai acheté ce dissque dur pour mon deuxième ordinateur. La capacité n'est pas très grande mais pour une utilisation de base c'est suffisant. La vitesse est très bonne malgré qu'une troisième génération de SSD vient d'être relâchée sur le marché avec un taux de transfert de presque le double de celui du présent SSD. L'installation s'est fait comme un charme en utlisant la mise à jour du firmeware disponible sur le site Internet de Crucial et j'ai utilisé Acronis pour cloner mon ancien disque dur sur celui-ci. Une grande amélioration du taux de transfert comparativement à celui d'un disque dur rotatif conventionnel. Un bon achat mais à partir d'aujourd'hui il faut passer à la nouvelle génération particulièrement si la carte mère ou sera installé le SSD a des ports SATA 6Gb/s (SATA 3).

I won't build a system now without an SSD boot drive. This unit has only been in the system for 4 days... but it set a new personal best for installing Win7. This is big enough to be a system boot disk and to install all major applications for Windows 7. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another when it's on sale.

This is my first SSD, so the review may be biased in that I have no others to compare to, but I have to say my mind is officially blown.Windows 7 loads in about 15 seconds, and just about any program loads in 2 seconds or less. I'm a web designer and use a lot of Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver mainly). Photoshop and Illustrator used to take about 30 seconds to load, and now I just click the shortcut and it's on. It's amazing.I tried a few games for fun and they seem to load a lot faster. I don't game a lot though so I can't give you more specific numbers.As for space: I have Windows 7, the Adobe Web Suite, a few Windows XP virtual machines, and every modern browser installed and still have 29GB's to fool around with.This is, hands down, the most noticeable speed increase I've EVER seen for everyday use. For $99, it's a no-brainer.

My first SSD. I'm very impressed with this, Glad i spend the money on the SSD. Will pick up another if it comes on sale again for my laptop. Was a toss up between this and a vertex 2 but didnt want to deal with ocz should got the crucial and glad i did.

Great Drive i run 2 in RAID0I get about 700mb/s read on a P8P67Deluxe on the Intel ICH10 Sata 3gb/s. Reads around 260mb/sBy far the best drive i have owned. All crucial drives comes with 5 year warranty so you should never have to worry about "wearing out" the drives maximum sector writes. If you do replace it with a brand new one.Crucial comes with GC so you don't need to worry about trim. However it is not as good of GC as the sandforce collection of drives have.

I bought 4 of these to put in a RAID 10 setup. This has been awesome. I benchmarked these at over 500MB/second. This is compared to my previous machine which got 20MB/second on the same benchmark.Programs open super fast (even big/slow ones like OpenOffice). After the POST, I am at the login screen in about 10 seconds.If you don't need a ton of hard drive space, I'd definitely recommend these instead of a traditional hard drive.

I already had RAID 0 with 2x intel X25-M 80gb, wich is pretty quick.. but wanted to max out my ICH10R.. ATTO says max 761MB/s, HDTUNE says average 701MB/s and HD TACH says 737MB/s... other than benchmarking... doesnt really feel any faster with 3x RAID 0 compared to 2x RAID 0... I love the drive tho, for the money, its the only one to even consider buying...

I have 3 of these - 2 64GB in my desktop / laptop and a 128GB in my PS3. They are pretty much amazing, area transition times in fallout are cut in half on the PS3, laptop easily boots twice as fast as with th 5400RPM hard drive, and it's even faster than the X25-E I had in my desktop. It sounds crazy but the only thing the X25-E is faster in is sequential writes, in everything else the C300 64GB is faster (at least with the SB850 attached to it).All 3 drives are running 0006 firmware and I've had no freezing or stuttering at all, and no bad garbage collection situations like the anandtech review suggests either.

This is my first SSD and I must say I am impressed. Using it with Win 7 on a Micro ITX build running an i5 760. Boots up in 10 or 12 seconds and is very stable. Would buy again.

Use this as my OS drive.....paired this with a i5 2500k, ASUS P8H67-M Evo mATX H67 LGA1155 and WD 1tb black sata 3 for storage.Windows boots in 7 sec's instantly comes back from sleep. programs open up in the blink of an eye. 100% recommended

I got 2 of these for RAID 0. They work, I updated the firmware. Sandra tests show 750MB/s read speeds. I have had a few freezes, but it seems fine now.

This is a great ssd, good price for the capacity and speed, works great with sata 6gb. Definitely fast when loading windows and programs. Easy to install, no real complaints for the price. Also all ssds are small, but it definitely helps keep your pc looking clean

So far loving this drive. I got 2 to get striping performance, and its performing better than I hoped. I have a single SSD (different brand) on my other system that I have been kind of disappointed with but I slapped these into my sata3 ports on my new sandy bridge 1155 chipset, and speeds have been incredible.

I picked this up to be the OS drive in my system along with a Black Caviar WB HDD. I got both on the SATA3 (6Gb/s) ports and I have to say that the machine moves quite nicely. Win7 loads up very quickly. Last time I tested, Windows Experience Index for this setup was 7.9/7.9. I would definitely purchase this drive again!

I waited a while and read lots about SSD before I bought it, I was using two WD 1TB BLACK as my OS drive, they are fast compare to other HHDs, reads b/w 52-140MB, with my new SSD I`m getting 209-220MB with single drive, SATA3 will give you more juice but I don`t have plan buying a new MB and CPU yet, but I will buy another SSD for sure, however it kinda of suck when you have to go back to those regular HHD at work

If you want an SSD for booting your Win7 and play some game, this is the SSD you want because it reads REALLLLYY fast (almost 2x faster than other SSD) and this SSD is SATA3 (Note that in SATA3 the controller doesnt support TRIM yet)If you do a lot of video editing then go for a Sandforce SSD

I picked up a couple of these for testing purposes to see how they performed against what Crucial claims.I have to say I am very impressed with them. Benchmarking the drives I am able to get the advertised speeds of 355MB/s read and around 78MB/s write. It is good to have a drive on the SATA 6Gbps bus that is actually using the bandwidth. If you are in an environment where you are doing a lot of reads from the drive, then this can't be beat at this price.
