Great Idea
Comment:
I bought this unit to become my media storage center. Installed two 1TB drives for this application. Setup and sharing was easy and straight forward. My issue is with performance! Copying files to this unit was dead slow. Nope, it's not my network because I can move files between all my PC's almost seamlessly. Looked on the D-link forum and saw many people having this issue without any concrete resolution. Me, I'm returning the box and going with a eSATA array (which is cheaper). I'll just share out the drives from my PC and spare myself the frustration this box provided.

A great product for the money, I had no problems with recongizing the 1TB hard drive. It works with xbox 360, I just stream music from it, and video. No complaints works great.

Awsome device if it continues to perform
Comment:
Easy to setup with two 1tb drives. Fast except when waking up, nice and quiet. As for reliability, its too early to tell.

Its a nice unit
Comment:
if you like to have a network storage for your home its a nice unit. i perfer to have access over the internet to the unit which this one will do with FTP only. i wanted a ''Windows'' access look type unit. i ended up also buying the Netgear Stora MS2110 which is great. And only a few bucks more. I higly recomend the Netgear Stora over the Dlink..

Extremely Slow Read Speed
Comment:
I should have researched a little better. Read speeds of 10Mbps was not what i was looking for

Easy to set up, intuititive
Comment:
I'm very happy with this NAS. Easy to set up, RAID options are comprehensive, interface is simple to learn. I tried several work-arounds until finally deciding to splurge and buy something off the shelf. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Decent
Comment:
This thing was great after i figured out all of my networking woes. If you want more features, go online and search for funplug. Requires some linux background though. Great little nas, but should have been cheaper in my opinion...its only the box..i mean come on. Good construction, trusty fan, overall good product

Great NAS on a budget
Comment:
This device is easy to setup, and works well. The built in software for administering users and groups lacks some features that I think are a little more than just nice to have, but I worked around them. I bought two units, but had to have one replaced due to a very noisy fan. All is well now. Overall I like them.

Works Great, Good Deal
Comment:
I've had the DNS-321 for a month or so now and just use it of online storage. Works just great and was a snap to set up. I'll add a second drive soon and run it as RAID 0 and at some point I'll try the remote access features. However, for the money, for my simple needs, it works great.

Ordered March 4th, no product received!
Comment:
We all know this is an excellent unit. I am writing this review based upon the horrible support. I have been an existing customer for years and shocked by the quality of service and rude service people. I ordered march 4th since it said 24hour shipping, and low and behold AFTER checkout, 7-10 day shipping delay (3rd party warehouse). I called Tiger's support line (really..) and asked to CANCEL my order and they kept insisting it shipped.. (Yes.. shipped internal warehouse transfer, but NOT shipped to me), We're March 19th, and since then I've purchased a a DNS-323 from another website and got it within 3 days. I am returning this unit via RMA and paying the return fee on top of it. Tiger, you've lost a customer.

Best bang for the buck!
Comment:
Bought this to replace a p.o.s icybox. This is the best purchase for a NAS EVER! Had it for about a month running 24-7; works excellent for both Windows XP and Mac; runs cool and quiet. Only complaint is that darn rebate, which I am still waiting on. Darn good price even without the pesky rebate.

Great value good performance
Comment:
I wanted to add network storage to my home network for some time, but most of the solutions I came across were either too pricey, didn't offer a RAID 1, or received poor performance reviews. This little unit fits the bill perfectly. I purchased 2 1T hard drives to go into the unit and I run them in RAID 1. I couldn't be happier. The unit was easy to setup and worked right away. I have 3 computers on my network, each with different OS's and all of them can read from and write to the drive without issue. I gave the unit a 4 for performance because when it goes to sleep, it takes a few seconds for it to become accessible again, but this is very very minor. 1.5 months in without a problem. This unit is a winner!

Great Value to get started in backup
Comment:
This device is so reasonably priced you cant afford NOT to have it. Run it in Raid 1 and have double protection for your backups. Been running it for a few months now and it is solid.

Yet another guy waiting for his unit
Comment:
Hi, I ordered this unit on March 10, and was very disappointed to get a ''all back-ordered'' status when I later tried to track It down. I remember it did the very same thing bout 5 years ago for my last order on this site for a thermal bigwater. Will cancel my order over credit card provider if it doesnt ship wittin next week.

Still waiting for my product....
Comment:
I would like to review the product properly, when I do eventually receive it...So much for 24hr shipping. fine print, Item may be supplied from a 3rd party warehouse. I ordered this unit last week on March 4th. Have phoned customer service twice. They don't know when it will ship. They keep asking me to phone back the next day. They have indicated that it is not at the warehouse but at a 3rd party supplier. No estimated ship date. I did order two drives and an audio cable which arrived on March 9th. Please draw your own conclusions how I feel right now. Perhaps this is something to work on, or at least work on providing an estimated ship date for ALL products before you checkout and drop your cash on the table. Just a thought.

Great deal and Easy!
Comment:
Setup was a breeze. Drives just slide right in and mapping is as easy as clicking your mouse. Installed 2 WD Caviar Green 1.5TB 32MB SATA-3G drives. Took awhile to format, but not overly long considering the size. Set up a RAID1 and transferred 290GB of mp3's. Plays and transfer files just as advertised. Recommend this to anyone who wants to keep data, music, pictures or whatever with minimal chance of losing you stuff. Bought it mostly because of the RAID capabilities, and the price.

Extremely Happy!
Comment:
Setup is easy as pie. Mapping drives went super easy. I could not believe how great setup went. And I'm running old computers and new. I put 2 1TB Seagate drives in and everything has performed flawlessly. Now my wife can put all her important stuff right on drive and I dont have to nag her to backup to the external which she never did until her computer would startt to act funny! Makes keeping files safe much easier. I set mine up as Raid 1 so it is mirroring the drives. I could not be happier! Go buy one!

Set this up in a RAID 1 with 1TB HDDs. Setup was super simple. Performance on wired 100MB LAN is only 8MB to 13MB per sec. Works fine for watching SD video.

Did the job with no fuss. 1 month in, no problems
Comment:
I updated the firmware before using this, installed a drive in the right hand site (Caviar Black 1TB), and it worked fine. Working great from two Windows PCs and a Mac. Had to set up ZoneAlarm firewall to map the drive on the Windows machine, but that's easy. The thing just appeared on the Mac without me doing anything. Working great for backups and for storing media files. Haven't worried about setting up accounts or using the FTP. The iTunes server works, but as described at length elsewhere, it doesn't allow for sharing of playlists which is kinda annoying. Am serving up movies from the NAS with no problem. I recommend this device.

Honest Review
Comment:
For this device to work, I had to perform the following: (1) Update the firmware; this is required for drives larger than 1 Terabyte (2) Update the setup and configuration utility. (3) Update drivers. The bundled backup and restore software is an old version. It performs the following: (1) Generates a restore disk (2) images selected hard drives. (3) Backup and restore selected directories as one backup (4) performs scheduled incremental backups. It does NOT allow you to browse backups in order to pick and choose which files to restore. It does NOT have a command line interface. It does NOT produce auditable reports. The backup and restore software seems to works, but it's not impressive.

Easy, works great
Comment:
I have had this running for about a month. My purpose was to have my own backup and to stop using Carbonite, which is $60 per year and wont backup external drives. Set up was very easy, took about 30 min. I installed two 1TB WDC Caviar blacks with Raid 1 configuration. The purpose is so that I can back up photos and videos without having to worry about losing everything if one drive crashes. The web configur feature is pretty simple. I have it set up to email me when it is overheating, full or when one drive crashes. Im very happy.

Second NAS
Comment:
First one had two each 1TB (RAID 1). This one has 1.5TB (RAID 0). Only one of the the seagate drives failed within 90 days. Enclosure is great price and operates quiet and smooth.
