Dynatron P985 92mm Ball CPU Cooler
Comment:
Quiet, exact same size as stock HSF, great mounting process, extremely uncomplicated to install, greater cooling. None I was horrified by the stock HSF that came with my Core 2 Duo. It has a terrible mounting method with plastic push-pins that are really tough to deal with. Plus, with no backplate and no springs, the stock HSF anxiety tweaked the motherboard to the point where the ports wouldn't line up with the I/O plate. This HSF solved my complications. It's extremely straightforward to set up and utilizes a very good, strong mounting method that consists of spring loaded screw-in pins and a beefy backplate. Plus, it's no louder than the stock HSF with superior cooling to boot. Quite happy with this. I'd give it 6 eggs if I could.

I like the truth that this has true screws and not the inexpensive plastic clips several heatsink/fans have. Also has a four pin fan connector and copper base. The supplied thermal compound is tough to spread around. If I had to purchase an additional a single of these, I'd toss the supplied stuff and use artic silver instead. I was looking for an affordable fan/heatsink to use with a Pentium 925 D. I wanted a heatsink with at least a copper plate and a four pin fan. This has each and expense much less that โ.

Solid construction, typical foot print. 1800 rpm idle - 2400rpm full load on E5200 Intel. 10deg C cooler that stock on total load. About twice as loud as stock cooler on idle, which tends to make scene due to the fact stock idles at 900rpm. The fan mounts utilizing standard 92mm mounting holes, so hopefully i can replace it with a quieter fan.

went in swift - screw in much more effortless to get right than the poorly style intel stock coolers. metal mounting bracket bolts thru to the backside of the motherboard - generating the fit pretty a lot great. seems stupid that intel didn't style a superior cooler with the server chips that wasn't based on a plastic tabs that aren't also tricky to break.

Uncomplicated, screw on mounting operates very properly.Appears to cool my little E3300 rather nicely at stock speeds.Little adequate size for most situations. The price tag is good. Loud. Fan spins at 2500RPM on low setting.Quickly the loudest thing in the machine. I verified that the bios has the wise fan characteristics turned on. With no these it is even louder! The only excellent thing I can say about it is that it's white noise -- no screeching or whining. It's disappointing, but I can live with it. I use an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro on my major machine. That is much quieter (and greater, and a lot more high-priced) than this 1.I used my favourite Arctic Silver 5 rather of what came on it. I haven't pushed the CPU in any way but, but with light use this cooler keeps the E3300 at about 27 Celcius. That appears incredibly very good to me.I really like the no nonsense way in which it screws on by means of the motherboard. This is what Intel must have accomplished. If I could uncover a simple mod that would slow the fan down and make it quiet, I would be fully pleased with it.

Screw mounts (reason I bought it)Fan grillDoesn't take up also significantly spaceLow-cost Fan tends to make a subtle yet annoying high pitch whineSimilar temps as Intel stock cooler (the aluminum low profile version) I find this item unusable. My tower sits on leading of my desk and the sound drove me crazy. I attempted some WD-40 in a desperate try and it made no distinction. It is not terribly loud but it is adequate to make me go back to my stock cooler.Truly when I went back to my stock cooler and applied Arctic Silver 3, the temps went down about 5 degrees from the P985 with the pre-installed grease. The intel cooler with pre-installed grease is the very same temps as the P985 with pre-installed grease.

Works as advertised. A lot better than stock clip on. I am also pleased with the noise level or lack there of for the value. Cools my P4 Dual core nicely. none seriously for the price I paid. No directions included but none are necessary. Spot bracket on the back of the mobo and tighten down the heatsink. ***Do this before installing the mobo into the case*** I also replaced the supplied thermal paste on the heatsink with artic silver. Truthfully the supplied paste looked a small dry but possibly would have been fine.

Works. Be conscious it has four-pin cpu energy connector.Thermal paste looked to be non-exixtant. I would suggest getting some arctic silver. Fit on my new MSI G31TM-P21 LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard perfect. Very recommended.

sturdy mounting plate with protective covering so it wont produce shorts on the board. fan will run around 2500rpm at 100% and genuinely quiet for that type of rpm. this cooler is not much larger than a stock fan so it wont take up substantially more room. it does a fantastic job of cooling my xeon E3110. idels around 31C and around 40C-45C under anxiety test. yet another reviewer stated that the thermal paste isnt up to par. i would know due to the fact i always use arctic silver. but i can say that most generaly this is the situation with most supplied thermal pastes. constantly get the very good stuff, you wont regret it. what else can i say, excellent deal wonderful cooler. acquire one and be happy. i generally know to newegg. only spot to get great service with wonderful goods with good prices. thaks again newegg.

Sweet Fan and Heatsink. None, Considering that the fan was a replacement to the original Intel the motherboard had to come out for install. The clamp and screw is far superior to the snap into the hole with plastic doo hickies. Program runs cooler than the original.

Uncomplicated Install on a new System. Liked the screw down instaed of the push pins. No documentation, at all. I know you don't need to have to be a rocket surgeon to install this factor, but a thing would have been good. Also concerned as there appears to be no way to replace the fan if necessary (maybe some documentation would explain how to replace the fan). Looks liek if the fan goes you need to replace the whole unit.

I utilised this as a replacement for the OEM heatsink on an HP Pavilion a1020n. The plastic frame on it broke around three of the screws & let the heat sink come loose. This Dynatron just fastened into the old bracket that was already under the motherboard. I didn't have to take away the board. :)It has metal exactly where the screws are, so I shouldn't have to worry about it.Even has a 4 pin connector like the OEM HP 1 to regulate the fan speed. Wish it was less costly.Identified it on sale less expensive elsewhere, but wanted it quicker so I ordered it from Newegg. Doesn't use those nasty pushpins.

I hate the retail coolers with the push-thru clips. At least as soon as, I've had one or far more of the clips that won't snap into place appropriately. 1 of them ended up popping off the CPU and causing it to fry. I know t his sort (screw-on) won't do that. It's much more of a hassle to put on (you have to dismount the mobo), but worth it, IMO.

It's quite great, seriously. Doesn't fit I have Pentium three. (Prescott). It's the same socket齇).With my original fan and heatsink was actually hot࿦-80C)and I bought this 1 but the heatsink doesn't fit.The screws go to the identical position but when you tight them the heatsink doesn't touch the CPU.So I only utilized the fan with the old heatsink(it fits). Now the temperature is 55-60C that indicates if almost everything is OK that's a incredibly very good choice.

Nearly silent!! I had to reopen my case to make positive that it was in fact running. Has metal screws and brackets. Attached easily to my Pentium four socket 775, especially given that my Mobo already had an attached bracket and I didn't have to take away it. Comes with thermal paste currently on heat sink None so far. I got this to replace the stock ATX CPU cooler on my HP a824n which had plastic brackets which got broken. My old CPU cooler was LOUD; especially when it sped up! So loud in fact that my wife complained. Not a problem now.

i got this to cool a 3. GHz pentium D processor that was idleing at 60 degrees C, it worked good. this and some artic silver five dropped my temp down to idleing at about 42 degrees and spikeing at 52. the backplate is sort of aggrevateing if you havent put one on just before but its seriously not that undesirable i'm getting prepared to discover out if this issue can cool a quad core (q8200) receiving that in about three weeks.

The heatsink was very straightforward to set up. It sat high enough to clear the Capacitors on the Mobo. It's also nice and quiet, quieter that I expected. It also did not interfere with the DIMM slots so you can use all four. General a good, solid item. I would absolutely advocate it to any individual. Even a novice could set up it without having too considerably troubleP.S. The metal bracket and screws had been great feature as effectively. No danger of breakage :) None that I can believe of The heat sink came with thermal past currently on the make contact with pad. I removed it and added arctic silver five rather.

I'm fairly impressed. Stock Intel HS and fan were maintaining my E6400 OC'd to two.6GHz @ 1333 idle around 35 but below full load with orthos even right after only ten minutes or so would heat it up to 59-61, and that wasn't sitting nicely with me. Installed easily, even for possessing to get rid of my motherboard the install was easy and painless. I used ArCtic Silver five with this fan and heatsync and now I idle about 31-33C and immediately after running orthos for 45 minutes my processor straight up REFUSED to go above 51C.That's what I'm talking about! Couldn't be happier for the funds I spent. And just FYI, I have an Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard. It didn't matter to me mainly because I had the room to spare but this point is easily twice as high as the stock Intel I replaced. It would've been great if the fan were LED but I'm just a sucker for shiny lights.1 con. It came a day late. USE SOME ARCTIC SILVER five, you will be glad you did. I didn't use a rice grain sized dab, or a bb sized dab; I spread it evenly across the top of my processor, put the heatsync on and twisted it a tiny in every direction and then secured it onto the bracket on the back of the motherboard. It worked effectively, it fit securely, and it cooled my processor very properly for the 20 dollars I spent on it. I'd advise this item to any individual who wanted to to replace their stock Intel HS and fan but didn't have the dollars for 1 of those expensive pure copper ones.

Got this to replace the stock Intel cooler due to it breaking one particular of the push pins and it cools noticeably much better than the stock. Was operating about 47c-54c with the stock. It is now down to 31c-43c. None at all. This cooler not only brought improvement on cooling this Pentium 4 down, but it also brought a efficiency improvement as well. Ran the Knowledge Index assessment on Windows 7 Pro to see if this had changed anything. When it completed, it brought the encounter to four.two. With the stock fan it was at 3.9.
