Wow just got this puppy and i'm amazed on how properly it does. I have a prescott cpu and with the stock cooler it was idling 43-49c and on load it was acquiring up to 58-60c under load. After placing this in with some Artic Silver five the idling temp is 27-28c and 39c beneath load. The fan is quite quiet also! None Would suggest for a cheap trustworthy way to cool your cpu down :)

Appears to be built nicely.Took my idle temp from 50c to 32c and my under load temp from 68c to 37c. No instructions, but cmon.... Wonderful cooler replacement....personal the hp a1646x.

Replaced an older HP OEM fan that had broken 2 of it's four tabs. Fitment was wonderful, simple to install. Already had thermal compound (nice!). No difficulties whatsoever. None, it's not a complex piece of hardware. It dissipates heat and blows air.

Fan assy. will fit stock heatsink Simple to overtighten screws causing base plate nut to break off. As soon as that occurs the heatsink is useless. Heatsink sat in drawer for most of year. When I tried to install base plate nut snap off. I in no way got to to use this heat sink.

Used it to replace a cooler master. Cools alot greater, quieter. Working with it with the GELID GC extreme compound.. in between these two my cpu runs 17c cooler on idle.No lame push pins. Good airflow, keeps an e8400 cool, around 29-32 degrees idle and not a lot a lot more loaded with smartfan settings on my mobo. Screw mount, inexpensive, quiet, does what it's supposed to do... Boring... This is a great product with SCREW MOUNT that works for socket 775. I hate those intel plastic tab mounts. It's a solid item but I gave it four eggs since other than it functions wonderful there's nothing unique about it...

Excellent CPU Fan. Yeah some might shun it mainly because you have to take the motherboard out to get the bracket on. I took that opportunity to clean out my case. Immediately after opening the box the first issue i did is remove the thermal paste that was currently offered and used a good silver paste. Right after the mounting was full I turned on my pc and had a huge drop in temp compared to my stock Intel fan with silver paste. Old fan was operating at 59C which converted is 138.2F New Fan is running 40C which converted is 104F that a total drop of 34.2 degrees Fahrenheit. To me thats a huge alter on a Dual core Pressler operating at 3Gig. None in my opinion

Don't even bother trying to use the stock Intel fan. It is a horrible style and forces you to apply too significantly pressure to the board to install it. I installed this in less than 5 minutes and I feel a lot greater getting screws and a back plate securing the fan/heatsink on my costly processor. It is quiet too. None that I can assume of. Shame on Intel for delivering such a shoddy heatsink/fan with their processors. Order a superior aftermarket fan/heatsink when you order your processor and conserve yourself a lot of grief.

Got it to replace the Intel stock cooler. The design is superior, it's quiet, and it keeps the processor cool. Didn't come with instructions. Their internet site doesn't have directions. One particular of the reviewers here talked about that the metal plate goes behind the motherboard and the heatsink screws into that.

worked like a champ. lowered my max temps from a stock HSF from 99 degrees celcius to 67 on a prime95 test.
