Like all of the other reviewers have commented on, the approach of attachment. The metal screws with a backplate is the way to go. It was a incredibly simple install even with taking out the mobo. It's not silent by any implies but a quiet hush of a fan is not a bother to me in my HTPC. It is really uncommon that I am listening to my Television that quietly exactly where a low fan whir is going to bother me. It seems to be fairly solidly constructed. Once more, so numerous reviewers say that it ought to come with Arctic Silver or something comparable. Once more, compare pricepoints persons. At this value the manufacturer is not going to put in an pricey thermal compound since the individuals who know/want it will either already have it or acquire it with the fan. I am perfectly pleased with the paste that came pre-installed on the base since I am not pushing my CPU. I have no matters with this fan. **If you currently have a fan with a metal plate base you could or may not be in a position to use it. I tried with my stock Intel sink and fan on my eMachines T5048 but it would not get tight enough.** All I had to do was take out the mobo and put theirs in. If you want to take the old plate out and it has tiny plastic clips holding the plate in, I just utilised a pliers to break the clips. Truly very simple.

Functions excellent. Took an 805 smithfield from a typical idle of ㅠ*C with the stock cooler at 100% to 32*C. Tad louder than stock, but this is not a massive deal at all. Easy installation. I like the coolers with the back-plate for the mainboard as a mounting bracket. It's so considerably better and more reputable than the piece of c-r-a-p stock push-pins that force you to practically break the motherboard in half in the course of installation.

I have no idea why some individuals reviewed this and mentioned it was loud or difficult to install. Why do you will need directions? If you cant figure this out you shouldn't be in the personal computer. Its genuinely quiet, worked perfectly and I'm happy! none I will update if I overclock with temp figures. So far appears fine. Really cold to the touch even soon after gaming etc.

Fits neatly in to boards with massive heatsinks, maintains excellent temps mounted to a E8600 OC @ 4.00. Backplate attachement superior to those push pins on numerous coolers. It does not look as cool as other coolers case airflow improved with this little cooler. some of the superior rated coolers are big and could impede airflow in some circumstances.

It maintain my E7200 cooled down around 31c on idle and around 45-53c on a heavy load. I have my CPU oC to three.0ghz. This fan fits nicely with the DFI X48 series boards nicely. It can get a little load when on full but, not enough to bug you.

Immediately after dealing with a stock heatsink breaking and another heatsink becoming impossible to put in my board, I finally decided that if there was a screw-in heatsink/cooler, I was going to get it. I was insanely relieved and thankful when I found this, and amazingly enough, it was a breeze to install.Anyone who has ever mentioned installing a CPU, I now recommend them to get a screw-in heatsink and send them to this product page! A bit bulky, but not as bulky as some other heatsinks, and still keeps my CPU fairly cool. Doesn't light up blue like my Radeon card or LED fans, though I can hardly think about that much of a con. :P Great.

I had a coolermaster metal screw-in bracket HS&F and this 1 went suitable into the old bracket. I didn't even have to take out the mainboard. Appears to run as cool or cooler than my last 1, which was also a 92mm ball. I'm happy with it so far. Doesn't come with directions, but its type of self-explanatory. Common Thermal compound is on the bottom of the HS as is expected. Went on a E6700 dual core, Asus P5 MB.

Superb HSF! Way far better than intel! Keeps my Q9550 cool even under 100% CPU Loud at 100%. Not genuinely a con, all fans make noise. Make sure your MOBO is set to use automatic fan speed. At CPU idle and fan speed at 50% temps are still low and sound is 5 db lower than 100% speed. Once fan temp gets more than 40C let it go to 100% and you will nonetheless have a cool technique. Hottest my CPU core gets is 65C at 100% load and 100% fan. Adore it!

considerably quieter than the stock aluminum HS and fan Idle temp is at 50c-52c the cheapo noise maker/all aluminum kept it down in the upper 40's. Thinking of returning it. Why should it be warmer than the stock. Used Artic Silver five w/it also.

This fan is excellent on my E8500 at three.16 GHz. It is really quiet and idle temps are at 27C. Pushing it as best I can, the temps stabilize at about 42C. Be confident to remove the OEM paste from the heatsink prior to you install it if you use Arctic Silver. Alcohol and a cotton ball work actually well. No directions but it's effortless to figure out for everyone. It seems loose at first till the screws get tightened all the way up. Get some Arctic Silver, go to the Arctic Silver website and be sure you put the Arctic silver on properly. They have pdf's showing what to do. If you are spreading it, you are putting it on improperly. You only use a modest line or dot depending upon the kind of CPU it's getting utilised on and the line on a dual core is various for AMD versus Intel.

Cools greater than the stock Intel cooler I previously had operating; temps now run at 30s idle and 60s under load.Previously ran 40s idle and 70s under load. Not bad.Installation was straight forward, no instruction required. The heatsink is larger than a stock cooler but it is not intrusive by any means. (not like a hunk of copper sitting on your motherboard). Installation; I constantly get a little nervous taking the board out to install a new cooler. I've had stock cooling considering that I built this system over a year ago. Although temps have been properly inside spec I decided with all the modifications and hardware I've gotten along the way an upgrade would be worthwhile, while not really necessary. _______________Intel DX48BT2Q9650 three GHz 8 GB corsiar RAM. It screws in -- no more nightmares about the stock HSF falling off.The blades are nicely-protected from stray wires.Very quiet with fan control enabled (runs at RPM on an Intel D975XBX2 board). No low-pitched hum like the stock HSF. Getting to take the motherboard out to mount the backplate was a discomfort, but well worth it for the finish result. Not confident why Trustworthy PC claims the fan spins at 2500 RPM on "low"; that's in fact quite close to the fan's rated speed (i.e. full speed) of 2600 RPM. Appropriate fan control need to bring the RPM down by 50% or so.

This CPU cooler is extremely nice. It has a quiet fan and its mounting technique is properly designed and it lets you know that it is securely installed with out fear that it may possibly pop out or over tightened it. The stock fan that came with the Intel Dual Core CPU has a fan with the Foxconn label on it. It was a shocker to hear the noise coming from the stock CPU fan, particularly given that the Pentium 4 class Celeron processor I bought years ago had a quiet fan that created no noise. I had to get rid of the stock fan or put up with the constant ruckus coming from the CPU fan and the continuous fear that it may well fail one day with no warning. Right after reading the reviews at Newegg, I decided that this is the 1 since of its quietness. Thanks to all the reviewers at Newegg for their accurate evaluation of this CPU cooler! The mounting technique requires the fan to be mounted prior to the motherboard being bolted onto the computer case. I did not know that and I had to get rid of the motherboard soon after installing it. I wish Intel would charge a couple of bucks additional and put in a better stock fan. The noise that the fan makes is totally unacceptable. I don't know if the noise is as poor for the other people today who bought the similar Intel CPU that I did. If the fan I got is typical, then aftermarket CPU cooler manufacturers ought to send Intel a thank you note. :) I have been developing my own computers given that my quite initially 1, a 386ች Mhz machine, and I don't keep in mind ever hearing a CPU fan that is as noisy as the 1 that came with this dual core Intel.

Extremely effortless install (assuming you're constructing a new system; otherwise you'll want to take your motherboard out). Superior cooling without a lot of noise. Huge sufficient to do the job but small adequate to stay out of your way. Mine had thermal tape on the bottom, but it was very straightforward to eliminate with a damp cloth. I put some Tuniq TX-two on there instead. I got this for my very first Intel construct in about 10 years. Installing the CPU was weird (pins in the socket and not on the CPU? bizarre!) but this HSF was straightforward as pie to install. It certain beats the tension clamp on AMD processors; I often really feel like I'm going to snap the motherboard in half with those. I absolutely recommend this if you want something greater than the shoddy stock fan, but don't want to invest a ton of cash on a copper brick with a jet engine on top of it.

I was running the stock intel CPU fan on my Pentium 4 for ages. Last year I bought this Dynatron unit for 20 bucks, and boy, was it worth it! On a full load, I am running at no greater than 60 degrees. On my old stock intel fan, I was hitting high numbers into the 70's. On idle, I typical around 48-50 degrees. Dropped practically 15-20 degrees! None in a years use! If you are seeking for a affordable replacement, this is the ticket!

Cost is correct. Solid. I prefer the backplate like this fan has vs. the stock snap in. Substantially greater contact with CPU. Louder than I was expecting. This fan does a considerably much better job than the stock fan on my Intel Core two Quad Q8200. With the Arctic Silver AA, it idles at about 26C! Under load I can't get it above 45C! Good!PS- Obtain some Arctic Silver 5 or Arctic Silver AA

Quiet. Uncomplicated to install. Uses screws instead of the inexpensive push and turn clips of most cpu fans. Newegg is the ideal. None I will admit I tried to save some income acquire ordering this exact fan from directr0n. They wanted my name, rank, serial quantity and initially born child's name and my bank to have my shipping address(work) on file in order to ship me a ผ fan. I told them to forget it I'll acquire it from Newegg at a greater cost and won't get the hassle. When again Newegg shines and I no longer shop about mainly because of their high level of service.
