Effortless setup, extended antenna wire. Great range. none. If you're searching for a thing with genuinely high speed and range, get the triple antenna pci-e x1 d-link card and then set up the extended antenna. Each are here on newegg. That's the finest desktop setup.

Low cost, effortless to set up, remotely mounted antenna to get best achievable signal, operates on ALL windows systems. Windows 7 did not detect it automatically but the included CD had it going in about a minute. This is on a Phenom II six core operating Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. None now. I've had the predecessor to this card for years now running first on my old Barton 3200 Windows XP and now on my Windows 7 Phenom II six core. My ONLY problem with the old one was the short cord on the antenna, not even half as long as the recent a single. Naturally fixed and now this thing gets 5 eggs.

Incredibly sturdy signal, steady connection, never ever drops, low-cost, trusted, antenna looks cool sitting on desk. Superior than cards that cost 3x as much money. It started failing following 20 months of heavy use. I'm not mad. Bought one more 1 in fact. I bought this wireless adapter in June 2009 when I built my computer. I have a wireless router that is about 80 ft away and by way of two stucco walls. I wouldn't bother writing a review except for my current experiences. The card began to break on me (the downloads had been stopping for tiny amounts of time every couple of seconds). So I bought a wireless-n router (Linksys E2000)and the Rosewill RNX-N300X with the antenna extender package. I figured I would be obtaining incredible signal with all those antennas. The card would be capable to choose up a signal slower than dial-up every single after in a whilst. The wireless-n router got Considerably worse signal than my five-year-old WRT54G. I figured I much better up the excellent even a lot more and bought a Linksys WMP600N. The card could not see the signal at all from either the E2000 or my old WRT54G. Following wasting time and cash I am going to get yet another one of these. For ฤ. And return my N router along with each new adapters. I'm disappointed to say the least...

Connectivity was great taking into consideration I was on the basement and the router was on the second floor. There had been only a handful of situations where the card could not connect but my iphone and xbox could. This is not a *strong* card. As I talked about, my distance from the router impacted connectivity. On the other hand, dell laptops were capable to connect at occasions when all of my devices had been out. Kind of cheap seeking antenna...weird.

Worked flawlessly on all 3 of the Ubuntu systems I installed it on. Total speed and sturdy connection. None I bought some Zonet cards for these three systems before and they had been awful. Signal dropped all the time. Now every thing functions perfectly with these Edimax cards.

It just functions. Plugged it in, let Windows download the drivers, presto! Employing Windows 7 32bit. Driver CD that came with it never ever worked -- might be a dilemma if you don't have any other indicates of connecting to the world wide web to download the drivers. Also had to tinker with it to fit into the PCI slot, see beneath. The card that I got was slightly misaligned. It would just barely seat in the PCI slot effectively, and a moderate bump would dislodge it. Dilemma turned out to be the backplate -- it would not allow the card to seat properly in the PCI slot. I just loosened the screws attaching the backplate to the card, and adjusted it to a point exactly where the card sat nice and snug in the port. Only downside to this is that the LED's and antenna input are slightly misaligned with the holes in the backplate, but not sufficient to result in difficulties.

I have three or four of these cards in different systems and they have in no way failed to disappoint. Excellent signal strength, very good download speeds, and no difficulties whatsoever.Like absolutely everyone has stated, let Windows set up its own wireless drivers, and you're fantastic to go. None at all.

Worked appropriate out of the box None (Yet) I plugged in this tiny PCI card, place in and tightened the antenna, fired up the machine and it worked ideal out of the box. I get wonderful connection, and I don't miss my network cable that was stretched across the hallway to the router.I bought this due to the fact it had an external antenna, and I am pleased.

Operates without any fuss with my Linux distro PCLinuxOS 2010.12Practically installs itself! None for me. I hate running wires when I don't have to. This card/antenna was just the resolution to connect my HTPC to a network/internet. It located my network just about quickly and afterwards connects rapidly. The HTPC is located on the same floor and about 20' from a Linksys wireless router acquiring 88% connection. Lots of length to the antenna wire if you must want it.Consumer (Linux) evaluations are most beneficial!

Great product. 89% signal, 40 feet from router, by way of three interior walls. Totally compatible with Win7 64. Long antenna cord. Um... the box was kinda ugly? Superior product. On a new construct, I just plopped in the driver CD and it found the hardware, installed drivers, found all networks in the location. I clicked on mine, entered password, and voila! Carried out. I really like it when networking is effortless.

I truly like the card, bottom line and am satisfied with the *hardware*. The item general however... Tough lock-ups, will need to acquire a new card and use this a single in an older Pc given that it an outdated piece of hardware. It will not operate on windows 7 x64 bit nicely. I have 8 gigs of RAM and it seems that doesn't mix nicely at all with this out dated card. This card ran just fine on x64 windows 7 when I only had two gigs of ram (did a current upgrade).

Driver installed in XP Pro with no a hitch. Offered a incredibly effortlessly navigated wireless utility - even though this was the 1st time I'd observed it. Found the antenna with cord extended adequate to communicate the signal up high enough a smaller detail that makes a lot of sense. Would have liked to see some form of information dump or logging on the wireless configuration and throughput but giving it a five mainly because the value is wonderful.

Sets up very easily on all main Linux distributions (Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Puppy, Suse) and performs nicely on XP (using drive on cd).Was a wonderful cost and the truth that it is nonetheless humming immediately after two years shows that it is nicely-built. Read past overview read past review So given that my last assessment I downloaded the newest ralink drivers for this device I believe the 256뢢 or some thing like that there are 3 and these were the only ones that worked. I gained alot more functionality with these but the signal was weaker than by employing the edimax driver only and windows networking. Now employing just windows I have far better signal and way simpler interface as effectively as no additional programs running. adapter still seems to lose signal and then I need to have to disable and reenable the adapter which is annoying but happens less now. Don't know if this is brought on by the adapter or not this is the only 1 ive had in the technique and I do not have a spare. Price to overall performance a five but some annoyances all round nonetheless contemplate a superior acquire.

I brought a single of these just about four years ago for my in-laws (There is a overview already posted that is buried in here) and brought one more one for my aging RIG that I was giving to my son so he could connect to my residence network and of course the internet. when it came not did it perform as effectively as I remember it the antenna wire was at least twice as extended than the original one I brought 4 years ago. Its now working like a champ and my Son is in 7th heaven. The only 2 slight troubles I had was I ended having to bend the PCI bracket slight so it would properly seat into the PCI slot (This could have been just a fluk) and the Driver CD supplied would not load the Windows 7 driver (Even through the CD said it was Windows 7 certified). I ended up working with the Windows 7 selection of looking the web for a driver automatically and luckly it identified a single. As far as I am concerned this was minor and not worth knocking an egg off for. All round, You can't go wrong acquiring this item if you are brief the ethernet connection and seeking for a thing realitively low-cost, I would highly suggest this product to anyone.Laptop or computer Specs:P4 3.4GHZ socket 478, 1 MB cache processor INTEL 865 PERLK MOBO 1gb Intel Intergrated NICEdimax Wireless PCI Card4GB of DDR1 400mhz PC3200 RAM 680W Energy Supply300GB SATA HDD SoundMAx 2.1 Stereo Intergrated Sound Card24bit 5.1 Creative Sound Card (Not utilised at att)ATI Radeon HD 3850 AGP Windows 7 Qualified SP1 ࿀ bit)

This is a good card. It has been trusted in my other pc. Runs on just about any Operating System, which is important to me since I use Windows, Linux and Apple OSX. The final one particular I just purchased lasted not even a week. It can't come across any wireless networks now. Shows, connected and disconnected and connected and dis... you get the idea."TEN DOLLAR" UPS shipping charge to RMA with newegg! Yikes!I will call Edimax tomorrow to see if they will send me a replacement without having the charge. I hate purchasing some thing that doesn't function and then possessing to pay for it as properly. I went ahead and purchased a new one particular from newegg as nicely. Hopefully Edimax will take care of what Newegg is unwilling to. Send me a working device next time please;) I would like to at least get what I pay for.

It performs just fine. I have the router in the basement, and it is able to operate fine from an upstairs space. The speed and connection strength are adequate. The cable that attaches to the antenna is rather short, and can be difficult as a result to spot in a handy position.
